Well – This is my first fanfic EVER. I have tons of ideas that just float around in my head, so I finally decided to make something of them. Please let me know your thoughts!

I do not own FFVII characters – though I wish I did….lol

I do own my own character – Jalyne

Chapter 1 – The Arrival:

She did not remember much, just the sense of floating in endless darkness. She heard the alarms sounding off in the distance, vaguely calling to her consciousness; but she would not wake; the curse upon her still in full effect. The ride became bumpy, jostling her in the cabin. Her eyes cracked open a bit only to be blinded by blue light.

This is not right… She thought aimlessly.

Everything will be alright. A voice softly replied.

She ached to move and started to thrash wildly at the intrusion to her mind, not used to hearing another. It had been a long time since she had contact with another entity. The ship was descended rapidly, and the young lady clenched her fists and pulled at the restraints keeping her in place. She clenched her jaw and kept her eyes closed and begged - Please just end…

The descent to the ground only took a few minutes and the auto eject misfired, releasing the restraints and sending the occupant to the floor of the cabin in a heap after hitting the transparent air pressure shield. She could feel blood dripping slowly down her forehead and nose and as she tried to move but paralysis still had its hold. Her heartbeat was faster than expected in this dormant state and she resigned herself to laying there; broken and lost. Without being connected to the life support system and the cryostasis that was inflicted upon her; the natural state of her body returned, and she began to feel the cold floor of the ships cabin. She still did not dare to move, knowing she was injured. She had no idea if her healing abilities would even work on this world; or how long they would take to kick in.

After what seemed like an eternity, her mind began to clear of the paralytic drugs, freeing her senses. She dared to move and rolled over, struggling to raise up on her elbows and bring her legs up underneath her. Jalyne froze at the sound of the cockpit door opening and the shield hissing in dissipation. It was cold here and she felt the icy wind rush into the cabin. She stayed still after easing back into a laying position and listened as intruders entered. She heard the footfalls stop in front and beside her. Upon hearing nothing malicious or dangerous of the intruders, Jalyne opened her eyes slowly – and stared into the most beautiful pair of aquamarine eyes framed with red strands she had ever seen. Closing them again, she let darkness pull her away with the only thought of – Come what may.

B3 – General Affairs: Auditing

Reno lounged effortlessly in his chair, waiting and waiting restlessly; tapping his heel upon the table where his feet rested. Rude was busy combing through intel for the latest information on Avalanche's plans to destroy the Mako Reactors. There had been rumblings of an uprising and a section of Avalanche had broken off to fulfill their own agendas. Tseng was seated at the long table at the front of the room, working on paperwork as usual.

A long sigh escaped Reno's lips. "This is horrible, just waiting."

"…"

"But it is necessary for the moment." Tseng replied without so much as a glance upward.

"There has to be something in all that intel, partner."

"Not much." The quiet spoken Rude replied. He glanced at Reno through his shades. "Just a bunch of gibberish so far."

Reno picked up a file that was sitting in front of him and tried to concentrate long enough to read it, not noticing the phone rang at his Directors desk. After a few moments, the click of the receiver grabbed his attention and his eyes focused on Tseng impatiently.

"There's an…." Tseng began hesitantly, brows furrowing. "incident. Both of you are to head to the northern cave."

"The Northern Cave?" Reno questioned. "What in the world would happen there?" He shifted to face Tseng a little better, tapping his fingers on the table. Rude stopped and looked at the Director pointedly.

"Something fell out of the sky, evidently." Tseng stated dryly.

"Say what?" Reno said incredulously.

"You are to investigate and bring back anything of value. The locals say a meteor fell." Tseng continued. "Leave within the hour and keep me informed."

The trip to the Northern Cave was uneventful in terms of weather. For the most part they were silent, barely speaking to break into each other's thoughts which is surprising considering how Reno loves to chat. Once they found the crash site, they circled around a few times to see if there was anything in motion or if they detected well…anything.

"Well, guess we're in for a hike, partner." Reno stated.

"Glad I packed the cold weather gear." Rude responded humorously.

Reno flashed him a quick look of disgust and scanned the surrounding landscape for a suitable place to touch down. Once the chopper was suitably on ground and the engines were cut; they stood to grab the coats and warm clothing. Reno opened the chopper door and looked out into the white nothingness ahead.

"Couldn't crash in Costa Del Sol, could they?" Reno stated and jumped out into the snow. "There is just nothing attractive about this place."

"The solitude is comforting."

"Only to you, partner." Reno said. "Only to you."

They headed out towards the plume of smoke, at first taking a hurried pace. They ran into more obstacles the higher up they ascended and had to slow down. The smell of burning metal was rapidly becoming closer and soon the cold Turks broke through the trees and stood in front of wreckage.

"Well, would you look at that." Reno said, grabbing his mag rod and extending it in preparation of possible encounters. Rude adjusted his glasses and tugged his gloves tighter, flexing his fingers in anticipation. "I've never seen anything like that. Have you, Rude?"

"…No."

"Well, better get started." Reno stated and clapped Rude on the shoulder jovially. "I don't care to be a snowman for much longer." And he started walking around the aircraft.

They had never seen this design and it was sleek. The wings slanted backwards, and the bulk of the aircraft was not all that big, truthfully. They noticed that there was just a glint of something towards the front. A shimmer if you look at it in the correct angle and light. The ship looked only big enough for maybe 3 or 4 people, and as they walked around the ship, they saw where the smoke was coming from the back of the craft. It looked to have hit a few of the trees or a mountain cliff upon descent. Tapping along the hull with his mag rod, Reno located what looked like a door.

"Have you ever seen anything like this?" Reno questioned his partner while pointing at the strange metal and pictures along the seam of the door.

"Not of this world." Rude stated.

"What do you think is inside?"

"I don't know." Rude commented. "But I sure hope that it's friendly."

Reno took out his phone and snapped a few pictures of the scripts and décor and sent them to Tseng. He put his phone away and attempted to slide the door with no luck. Rude stepped up to help with no avail and the two Turks looked at each other. Reno grinned suddenly and lifted his mag rod. Putting the tip of it to the door, he adjusted the setting to high and let it loose, hoping to short circuit the door with an electrical overload. The door lit up along all of the script and pictures and slid open just a bit. A small whoosh came from the front of the aircraft and Reno grabbed the door and slid it all the way open, mag rod raised in defense. As the two Turks stepped through the door, they noticed the tiny beeps and blips of various electronics going on and on. Nothing appeared in the main cabin and they made their way towards the front of the cabin. Reno noticed the swath of white coming from the chair in the center of the smaller front cabin. Motioning to Rude to go around the other way, Reno pulled out his gun in the ready, slipping the safety off. Rude did the same and continued silently around the chair with his eyes looking upward. Reno glanced up and saw the snow slowly drifting into the craft from the window that was no longer there. Raising an eyebrow toward the window, he walked around the chair stopped.

Laying in front of them was a woman – an incredibly beautiful woman, by Reno's judgement. Her snow-white hair was in contradiction to her age and it splayed outward from where she lay. Rude could see that she was injured by the blood that was caked on her head which ran down her face and neck, covering the half mask over her left eye. Her attire was foreign with a dark midnight blue bodice intricately embroidered with silver designs that started around her neck and led down into a slitted flowing skirt. Her tight white boots went to mid-thigh and it appeared she wore a white half cape embroidered in midnight blue. Her arms were engulfed in tight blue gloves that reached to mid bicep.

Reno placed a foot on either side of her and leaned down to check for life. He was only an inch or two away from her face, trying to detect her breathing, when she slowly opened her eyes to stare into his. Though Reno felt a connection was made, it only lasted a moment before she closed her eyes.

"Shit."
