Amari later was in a Pokémon Center, laying onto one of the beds, IV hooked up to him and all.

His torso was covered in bandages, his arms especially wrapped tightly, as they were the most injured out of anything else on his body.

He mostly watched the TV mounted onto the wall, but he did try to listen to Professor Oak talking to the Nurse Joy who owned the Pokémon Center.

"What's his condition like?" Professor Oak asked.

"It's not good, sir..." The Nurse Joy said. "He has multiple bruises and cuts on his body, as well as a few sprains and even broken bones that have only barely started to heal." She explained. "Fortunately, he is still alive, if not barely." She finished.

"I understand, thank you." Professor Oak said as the Nurse Joy nodded, leaving the room.

"Am I dying?" Amari asked.

Professor Oak chuckled. "No, you're very much alive, but you are in pretty bad shape as of now." He said.

"Yeah, I can tell that much..." Amari said, grunting slightly in pain.

"Don't move so quickly, your body is still recovering." Professor Oak said.

"Y-Yeah, right..." Amari said.

A long silence filled between the two, until Amari spoke up once more.

"So, about my new family...is there anything you can tell me about them?" He asked the Professor.

"They're a unique family, to put it in a somewhat understanding way." Professor Oak said. "The boy you're about to meet is my grandson, actually, and your soon-to-be brother." He continued.

"I see..." Amari said, before another realization hit him. "Wait, wouldn't that also make me your-" He said, before Professor Oak beat him to the punch.

"My grandson?" Oak asked. "Why yes, it would, my boy." He said.

Amari was stunned, unsure of what to say.

"I...wow...this is...a lot..." He said, struggling to form proper words.

"I would imagine for someone your age that this is a lot to take in, but I promise it's for the better." Oak said. "So, what do you say?" He asked.

Amari thought for a while, until he looked back up towards Oak, a small smile on his face.

"I'd say I'm glad, Grandpa..." He said.

Oak smiled in response.

"I'm glad, my boy." He said.

A few knocks were then heard at the door, interrupting the moment.

"It's me, Professor Oak, open the door!" A male voice, almost sounding like a early pre-teen's, said outside of the room.

"That must be him." Oak said, as he went to open the door.

As he did so, a boy stepped into the room.

He had black, spiked hair, and brown eyes.

He wore a red and white cap with a Pokéball logo on the top-middle of it.

He looked about as if he was in his early teens, couldn't be any older than 12 or 13 years of age.

And finally, a Pikachu sat on his left shoulder, it's bright flashy color making it especially distinct.

"Amari, this is my grandson, Ash Ketchum." Oak said.

Ash walked up towards Amari.

"So, this is the guy you've been telling me about, Professor?" Ash asked. It's nice to meet you, name's Ash Ketchum." He said, holding his hand out towards him.

Amari reached out hesitantly, but eventually shook his hand.

"N-Nice to meet you...Amari Tanori..." He said.

Ash's Pikachu hopped onto Amari's bed, nuzzling him affectionately, which surprised the boy.

"U-Uhm...nice to meet you too..." He said, petting the Pikachu slowly.

Ash and Oak both smiled at the scene before them.

"I'll leave you two to talk so I can help pack Amari's belongings." Oak said, turning towards the door.

"Alright, see you then, Professor!" Ash said.

"Bye, Oak..." Amari said.

Oak waved back towards the two as he left the hospital room.

Ash turned back to Amari, a smile still on his face.

"So, anything you like to do?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.

Amari thought for a while, but eventually began to speak to Ash.

And so, the two spent their time conversing to pass the time.

Eventually a few hours passed, and Oak returned to let the two know that it was time to leave.

Ash helped Amari walk towards the car, as the two eventually got in, and drove to what would be Amari's new forever home.

"Amari, wake up, we're here!" Ash said, shaking Amari to wake up.

"Mmn...huh...?" Amari said, slowly opening his eyes, as he saw that they had indeed arrived at their location.

Ash helped Amari out of the car, as Amari took the chance to look around his surroundings.

It was a home out in the middle of what seemed to be a forest, surrounded by a garden of flowers, leading to a even larger garden at the back of the house.

"Looks amazing, huh?" Ash asked, his signature smirk on his face.

"Yeah, looks pretty...amazing..." He said, looking once more as they walked towards the entrance of the house.

Once they approached the door, Ash's face suddenly turned a bit more serious.

"Hey, when we get in, try to stay calm, okay?" Ash asked.

Amari was confused and a bit fearful at first, but nodded his head.

"Uhm...okay..." He said.

Ash then took a deep breath, as he opened the door.

What Amari saw made him a little more confused than anything.

He saw what looked like three Pokémon, two of them looking similar to each other, while the other was smaller and much more different looking.

The two much older looking Pokémon immediately glared at Amari, unsure and likely untrustworthy of who he was; For all they knew, he could be hostile.

The other, much more smaller Pokémon looked at Amari with curiosity more than fear, but still stayed close to the other two.

A long silence filled the room, until one of them eventually spoke up.

Ash...who is this? The purple-toned Pokémon spoke up.

"This is Amari, he's our new family member." Ash said, a little nervous, but hiding it well.

I'm sorry, NEW family member? The purple toned Pokémon asked, his anger and suspicion clearly visible.

"Yes, Mewtwo, our new family member." A female voice suddenly spoke out, as a young woman with a ponytail entered the living room.

Her eyes were brown, just like Ash's, and her hair seemed to be reddish-brown.

"Do you have a problem with that?" She asked.

The purple-toned Pokémon froze as he saw her glare.

N-No, no problem at all. The purple-toned Pokémon said, clearly intimidated by the woman.

"Good." The woman said, as she turned to look at Amari.

"Hello sweetie, my name's Delia, but you can call me your mother, kay'?" She asked.

Amari, who was still stunned, snapped out of his thoughts, nodding his head the the woman.

"A-Amari...but I'm sure you already knew that..." He said.

Delia chuckled, amused by Amari's response.

"Well either way, it's nice to finally meet you, sweetie." She said.

Amari felt warmth and comfort in her words, something he hadn't felt in his life at all.

It was a weird feeling, but he welcomed it.

"It's nice to meet you too, M-Mom..." He said, his voice slightly shaking as he had to adjust calling Delia his new mother.

Excuse me, Delia? The pink-toned Pokémon suddenly spoke up, interrupting the moment.

"Yes, Newtwo?" Delia asked.

Could we have some context to all of this? Newtwo asked.

Yes, I would LOVE to know why we weren't informed of this. Mewtwo asked, his tone showing annoyance and slight anger.

"I believe Amari can explain that to you." Oak suddenly spoke up, as he put down the last of Omari's stuff onto the house's floor.

The two alien-like Pokémon looked at Amari, awaiting a response.

Well, we're waiting. Mewtwo said.

Don't be like that. Newtwo spoke up, nudging the male version of herself, as she looked back at Amari with a kind and understanding look on her face.

Take your time, we're listening. She said.

Amari nodded gratefully, as he explained his past to the two psychic Pokémon.

Their reactions are about what he would expect.

Disgust, shock, disbelief, and even a bit of guilt.

I see... Mewtwo said, looking away in shame as he thought about how he introduced himself earlier.

That's terrible...horrendous, even... Newtwo said.

"Indeed it is." Oak said, nodding his head. "Amari here has been through a lot of things, most of them traumatizing for most people." He continued. "I had asked Delia to adopt him because I wasn't sure if a foster home would be good for him." He said. "I know you two don't really trust humans given your past and all, but I only ask that you give the boy a chance, please?" Oak asked.

The two psychics remained silent as they considered it.

I don't see why not, he doesn't look harmful, if anything, the opposite... Newtwo said.

I'm still a little untrustworthy of him, but you have my word. Mewtwo said.

Oak sighed in relief as he heard the two's agreement.

"Good, than that should be all." Oak said, as he turned towards the door, not before looking towards Amari once last time.

"Make sure to visit me sometime, kiddo." Oak said.

"I-I will, bye, Grandpa..." Amari said.

Oak nodded, waving one last final time before going back into his car, and driving off.

"Now that introductions are out of the way, I need to finish cooking; I'm sure you two are probably hungry." Delia said, turning back towards the kitchen.

"Let me help, I want to give Amari some time to get to know the others." Ash said, following his mother into the kitchen, leaving Amari alone with the Pokémon.

A long silence followed the four, both groups unsure of what to say.

Eventually, Amari just took a seat, trying to distract himself with something, anything.

That was, until he felt something on his head.

"What the...?" Amari said, before reaching up to feel something furry and oddly soft.

As he grabbed it, he felt a loud mewing sound, accompanied by giggling.

Mew! A pink Pokémon said in front of his face as he looked at it.

"What...are you...?" He asked, genuinely confused and intrigued by its look.

That's Mew. Mewtwo spoke up, answering Amari's question. Sorry about her, she can be..."playful". He continued.

"I see..."Amari said, looking back towards the pink cat-like Pokémon named Mew.

Mew! She called out again, before suddenly disappearing.

"W-What the...?!" Amari said in surprise and shock, as he looked around to see where she had gone.

Then she suddenly appeared back in his face.

Mew! She called out once more, spooking him.

"AH-!" Amari yelled out loud, falling off the couch.

Mew giggled as she saw his reaction.

Newtwo chuckled softly, while Mewtwo shook his head.

Are you alright? Mewtwo asked.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine..." Amari said, standing back up, grunting slightly in pain as he felt his injuries still hurting.

Don't worry, I gotcha. Newtwo said, helping Amari up.

"T-Thank you..." Amari said.

He took the time to look around the inside of the house, admiring the furniture and overall decoration.

There were plenty of photos mounted onto the wall and placed onto a few tables, surrounded by other furniture.

"Wow..." Amari said in awe.

A lot of photos, yes? Newtwo asked, levitating beside him.

"Yeah...way more than my family's ever made..." Amari said.

Newtwo frowned slightly at the boy's negative statement, as she then put a hand on his shoulder, making him look at her.

That doesn't matter anymore, you live with us now. She said, smiling warmly at the boy as she tried to comfort him.

Amari was silent for a while, but eventually nodded his head.

"Yeah, right...sorry for thinking so negative, it's just..." He said

I know what you mean, don't worry. Newtwo said.

Amari nodded thankfully, a smile on his face.

I hate to ruin this wholesome moment, but you still need to move your belongings up to your room, Amari. Mewtwo said, motioning towards Amari's bags which were still on the floor where Oak had placed them.

"Oh, right...a little help...?" Amari asked.

You're seriously that weak to- Mewtwo was going to say, before Newtwo pinched him extremely hard on his arm, making him gasp in pain.

Be NICE. Newtwo said, as she looked back at Amari with a smile on her face. Sure, let us help you with those. She said, as she began using her psychic powers to move the bags.

Ugh, FINE... Mewtwo said, rubbing the arm that he was pinched on, as he used his own psychic abilities to lift the bags.

Amari picked up the two last bags of his, as he carried them upstairs where his room was located.

This chapter took a lot out of me, but thankfully it's done now.

Chapter 3 will take a bit longer than usual, as I'm going to be working on the next chapter for Legendary Reincarnation, so stay tuned for that!
