Hey y'all! This is my first crossover and I am hoping that it turns out well! Hopefully you guys will like it! This is a crossover of The Town That Came A Courtin' and NCIS.

Here's a general plot for TTAC:

The Town That Came A Courtin', is a movie set in a small town called Bliss, in Mississippi. Abby Houston is an author who is in town for a book tour. The town conspires to get her to go out an a date with Mayor Spencer Alexander.

Note: Abby is NCIS Director Jenny Shepard's older sister, they're from Atlanta, Georgia (to be explained later). Jenny never died. The character's ages are younger than in the movie and show, but keep in mind that this is FAN FICTION. Also, this chapter might not make sense if you haven't seen the movie or read the book. Dialogue is different than the movie.

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Just borrowing characters. While I have read the book, I am not using the exact names for some of the characters. That's only because I started writing this before I read the book (I watched the movie first). Also, some things will be different in this story than they are in the movie and book. Hence why it's AU.

Spencer Alexander is the Mayor of Bliss, Mississippi. After his wife Hannah died three years ago, he was left heartbroken and devastated- the whole town was. Since Hannah's death, Spencer never expected to fall in love again, to feel that spark. However, thanks to the people of Bliss, he would feel that spark with someone. That someone was Abby Houston.

Abby Houston is a best-selling author from Atlanta, Georgia. After her husband divorced her, she was crushed and had given up hope that she'd fall in love again, dubbing herself a "spinster" for life. But when she stopped in Bliss, Mississippi on her book tour, she never expected that she would find a nice guy and fall in love. That was until she went on a date with Spencer Alexander- the Mayor of Bliss.

Just as Spencer and I were closing in for a kiss, we heard sirens of a cop car and as it pulled into a parking spot, the headlights blinding the two of us and making us pull apart. When Spencer looked up, Deputy Ricky was getting out of his vehicle and rushing towards us with a bottle of wine, chilling in a bucket of ice. As soon as he set it on the stand that was by the table, he took off in a rush to get back to his patrol car.

As Deputy Ricky left, Spencer chuckled a little. "He always has managed to have horrible timing."

"I can tell."

When Spencer noticed that there was an envelope near the bucket, he opened it and read what was written on the inside note.

Spencer,

Since Hannah died, we know you've been heartbroken. In the few days that Miss Abby has been in our town, we have noticed a sparkle in your eyes and you have seemed happier. The whole town has noticed it too. You deserve to have love again, and we give you our blessing.

We hope you find your Bliss,

Claire and Luke Carmichael.

There was nothing but silence as I turned around and looked at Spencer. He had a solemn look on his face and he did nothing but stare down at the piece of paper.

Walking over to Spencer, and putting a hand between his shoulders, I asked, "Whatever has gotten you so upset? Is everything okay, Spencer? You can tell me."

"No, Abby. No, everything is not okay. I can't tell you anything, and as much as it kills me Abby, we need to leave."

"What? Why?"

"I- I can't tell you. Let's just go."

The ride back into town, was spent in a tense silence. I didn't bother saying a word to Spencer. I was hurt deeply and the only thing I could do was cry silently, barely holding back the sob that was building in my throat. This hurt worse than the divorce with my ex-husband, he-who-shall-not-be-named.

As we pulled up to the bed and breakfast, I finally let out the sob that had been constricting my throat.

Spencer had come around to the passenger side, to open my door and help me out. However, I pushed him away and cried, "You know, I was so stupid. So hell bent on finding happiness, thought I might have found it. All in a matter of three days, during what is supposed to be my book tour."

Then, I slapped him across the face. "That... That's for being an asshole."

I sobbed again, "My sister Jenny has always told me, "A slap in the face is humiliating. A slap to the back of the head is a wake up call." I hope you feel as humiliated as I do." Then, I slapped him across the face again. I don't go hating on people, but I do hope that he feels humiliated.

With that, I walked into the bed and breakfast, leaving behind a very shocked Spencer.

Opening the door, I went inside hoping to dodge Charlotte and any questions she might have. Successfully, I was able to dodge her, and made my way upstairs and to my publicist, Jamie's room and knocked on her door.

"Come in," Jamie answered.

I slipped my head and shoulders through the partially open door. "We leave at noon tomorrow."

"Want to talk about it?"

The only answer Jamie received, was the door to her room being shut.

It was a few hours later, at midnight, when I heard the sound of footsteps tip toeing up the staircase. I didn't pay much mind to it though because I was too busy trying to not cry loudly. The footsteps stopped in front of my door, meaning that I probably hadn't done a good job of being quiet. Of course, I've never been the quiet type of person.

After hearing the footsteps stopped, there was a soft knock on the door.

"Go away, Jamie. I said that I didn't want to talk about it."

By the muffled sound of my voice, Charlotte might have figured that I was probably talking into my pillow. The door slowly opened enough for her to slip through and close it behind her. "Abby? It's Charlotte, honey. Are you okay?"

I lifted my head from the pillow and sat up, as Charlotte took a seat on the edge of the bed. "No, not really," I sniffled, "Half way through our date, Deputy Ricky pulled up to where we were and rushed up to us, with a bottle of wine. There was an envelope with a letter in it. Spencer picked it up and went silent as he read it. I- I asked him what was wrong and, he- he told me that he couldn't tell me and we ne- needed to leave."

Charlotte muttered, "Ah. That boy ain't got the sense that God gave a damn jackass."

"No, kidding on that one."

Charlotte and I talked for a bit longer before Charlotte went back to her room and we both went back to sleep.

The next day, after Spencer attempted to talk to me, I left him for Mobile, Alabama- the next stop on my 'Moon Over Georgia' book tour. Chancing a look back, I thought that I may have seen him wipe a few tears from his eyes. Then again, it could be my imagination.

"Spencer, come here, darling. I need to talk to you."

Turning toward Charlotte's voice, I replied with a mumbled, "Yes, ma'am."

Charlotte led me into the kitchen and sat me down at the table. "Let's cut to the chase, Spencer. What happened last night?"

I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck, "You don't beat around the bush, do you, Charlotte?"

"Nope. Y'all should know by now that I'm straight and to the point."

"Abby and I were at that little deck area, you know that spot I proposed to Hannah? Well, Deputy Ricky pulled up and rushed over to us, and gave us a bottle of wine. There was an envelope attached to the bucket it was chilling in... It was a note from Claire and Luke, giving me their blessing to court Abby."

"And?" Charlotte asked me.

There was a moment where I had to take a deep breath, "I went silent and Abby asked me what was wrong. I told her that I couldn't tell her and that we had to leave. She cried quietly the whole ride home. She pushed me away when I tried to help her out of the car."

"What else?"

"Abby said, and I quote, "You know, I was so stupid. So hell bent on finding happiness, thought I might have found it. All in a matter of three days, during what was supposed to be my book tour." Then she slapped me, saying, "My sister Jenny has always told me, "A slap in the face is humiliating. A slap to the back of the head is a wake up call." I hope you feel as humiliated as I do." Abby slapped me across the face... again."

"Oh, Spencer."

"I messed up big time, didn't I? Charlotte, what am I supposed to do?"

Before she could reply, my phone started to ring. The call was from Jamie, Abby's publicist.

"Spencer, it's Jamie. Is Abby there with you?"

"No, why do you ask," I questioned.

In a very panicked voice, Jamie responded with, "Because, Spencer. She never made it to Mobile."

"Oh, shit."

Abby was missing.

Honestly, how did I do? I know this chapter is a little boring, but I promise that it will get more interesting.

This was originally posted a few months ago, but I took it down and can't remember why. Anyway, I am posting it again! I have no set schedule for updating.

Next chapter is where Spencer calls Jenny and NCIS opens the case. The case spans roughly three days and there may be a small time jump or two (haven't decided). We'll let my muse decide what will happen.

Thanks for reading, my lovelies! xx
