The day the earth stood still
The return of Klatu
Chapter Five
A moment later General John Lewis turned personal with Helen with his questions. "I need to ask you something about Klatu," he says coyly with his tone of voice.
Helen Benson shifted slightly in her chair. "What is it you need to ask me, John, in regard to Klatu?" she alluded to the question with a lump in her throat.
"I think it's best Helen that you tell me the complete truth about your true feelings about Klatu." General Lewis hated the idea of putting his friend on the spot. Taking a sip of his glass of water, while his aide Patricia had finished up the last of her work.
Helen had a single tear falling down her face wiping it away with her right hand before answering the General. "Just to let you know John, I had feelings for the alien in such a short time." she softly says with her dry throat all of a sudden. "I have tried for twenty years in order to get him out of my mind without any success." she sorrowfully advised dropping her head slightly.
"That's too bad Helen. However, I will need your help now with Klatu to be arriving on Earth in four-plus months," he says dryly.
She lifts her head to say the following..." And just what is it that I am supposed to be doing John?" she had to ask now sitting on the edge of her chair.
Thinking about it for a moment with Helen's question. General Lewis will say to her the following. "Keep him safe from his enemies that no doubt will be following his spacecraft back to Earth. I have told to President Biden the complete truth on just what might happened," he says with some annoyance in his tone.
"General, you do realize that Klatu and his police force can destroy Earth very easily. We saw some of that power when he tried to scare the hell out of everyone with his demonstration." she was now standing up directly in front of the general as well moving up from his chair and shaking his head.
Moving in closer to him. She didn't know how to respond further...
"I do realize Helen as with the president and his military staff. They will be preparing for Klatu to arrive as with anyone else following. However, right now we have our problems with Israel and the Gaza region." he snorted with his response.
"That is very true General. I hope to god that my son Robert is not injured or killed in the fighting." she cried out with emotion when it comes to her only son. "Maybe the prime minister will be able to come to terms with Hamas?" she asked him while sitting back down on the chair.
"From my understanding of President Biden. He tells me that he and his military overseas will do their best to keep all of the Americans safe. Though the hostages are the priority right now." General Lewis needed to say with heartfelt sentiment.
Thinking about it for the moment. Helen is going to say to the general. "What happens when the hostage teams will find the hostages dead?" she related with a deep breath expanding her chest.
General Lewis stood up from his chair with his own deep breath into his lungs. "Let's not think about it, Helen! We have more important things to think about." he croaked out with his response before sitting back down.

A few days later on board Klatu's spacecraft. He's been in the communications sector, while his friends were asleep inside the chambers to keep them sleeping for the next two-plus months. Klatu will use the chamber eight hours a day, while the controls are on automatic.
Klatu had been scanning the radar screens in front of him. Though the ship had been using the latest cloaking device to hide from certain enemies. He had placed the ship into the heart of the Andromeda system where there is a high volume of crafts traveling back and forth with certain military officials and private citizens looking for a change of life.
A moment later taking a sip of his protein drink. He will notice a fraction beam on the screen indicating that someone had been trailing the spacecraft for some odd reason. Klatu decided to ask the main computer om what it might be...
Talking into the computer speaker...
"Computer what is the fraction beam on the screen? Is it an enemy vessel following us to Earth?" Klatu needed to ask.
The computer's voice in a deep tone will answer the following in front of Klatu. "affirmative!". Klatu didn't like this one bit with the computer's answer.
"Is there anything else I should know about?" he asked calmly.
"Negative. I suggest Klatu that we keep a close eye on the beam." the computer suggested.
"I will be sure to do so with my friends having to be in the sleeping chambers." he alluded to the computer before shutting it down for the moment.

Meanwhile in the Gaza region...
Colonel Robert Benson and his officers along with his soldiers under him had been surveying the area for where some of the hostages had been taken.
It was hot and humid for the most part. However, they had been asked to head to the local bomb shelters to get the word that Israel's own military would be bombing a section where they think some of Hamas's people are located.
Colonel Benson had been going over his own orders given to him from a long-range communications satellite to have his own men ready to search the area for any survivors.
He took a sip of his water canteen while waiting inside the light bomb shelter. It was big enough to hold all of his officers and men. They waited until finally, the bombing began not too far from them.
All of a sudden there was a loud boom hitting one of the smaller hospitals. This is where they will be helping them out with searching for the survivors...It was an hour later when everyone was given the orders to leave the bomb shelter and get to work...
