The return of Klatu

Chapter Ten

TWO MONTHS LATER...

Deep out in space Klatu and his military friends still were asleep while Klatu and his robot were running the spaceship heading out of the Andromeda system to head into the galaxy of Taurus. There were only eight planets with two suns and one planetoid.

There had been a total of twenty billion living souls on those planets. The planetoid named Enco had mostly military personnel scanning the planets for any foreign vessels leaving the Taurus system.

Klatu sitting in the communications center was bored mostly. He had decided to do a video letter to Helen Benson. Even though it won't be a while before she is able to receive to video letter.

He asked the computer recorder to go on automatic so that he's able to talk to the woman.

Shaking slightly while holding onto his right hand. Klatu coughed before saying a word. "Helen, I am sorry to be writing this type of letter to you. Here I am two months out from Earth and I decided to do this video. I have no idea what to say to you after 20 long years of being separated.

I am truly sorry for leaving you and Bobby. I had a mission to be finished up with Earth to be saved from destruction. I was able to meet with my own superiors in order to give my report.

He took a sip of his blue drink sitting on the side of him and his lounge chair in the center. He looked over at the time to see if he could say more to Helen.

I am doing well for the most part. Even though my life cycle will be winding down within the next five years. It's why I have decided to come to Earth in order to live the rest of my life with you. Yes, I do care for you and Bobby. Really, Helen, I am lying about my feelings in order to be totally open. I do love you. Even though I don't really understand those feelings.

I am sorry to be scaring you with what I have said to you. Please try to understand what I am trying to say. Helen, you're probably very proud of Bobby for what he is currently doing.

Taking a bit of a breather before ending the recording for now. He was going to start it up again later on after his sleep period. He's going to be activating the robot along with checking on his three friends.

Washington D.C. Two months later

Hanger six

Captain Jemeny Cobbs with his permission papers from General Lewis and others visited the hangar. The several damaged pieces of the three spaceships months ago had blown up to some unknown cause.

The scientists had been for months were working on trying to find out why this had happened in the first place.

The only thing they were able to come up with was the fact that there was a cloaking vessel in the area of the jets searching that was destroyed by a laser. Doctor Maryland Jance and three others had been running tests to come up with the type of metal used on the three ships.

Captain Cobbs came into the main lab having been escorted by a security officer in order to speak with the doctors wearing protection suits as with himself for his own protection.

Doctor Jance shook her head with her blonde hair covered from the suit. She had been advised of the Captain coming to the hangar to ask questions. She had finished talking to walk over to the Captain.

Turned to face the woman with her IPAD in her hands. "Captain Cobbs, I am glad you're here," she tells him with a smile through her headgear.

"Doctor Jance, I am sorry to have put you on the spot with the visit. I was there for when those spaceships through the cloaking field had blown up," he remarked with a deep breath.

"So, it was your officers and yourself to report about the possible lifeforms?" she asked with curiosity in her tone.

"Yes, doctor. My superior officer and the president of the United States had ordered us to not fire a shot. But instead, someone else had gotten to them with the explosion." he remarked moving in closer to her.

It was at this particular time one of the scientists came inside with his report after months of trying to figure out the metal alloy on the pieces that were found some twenty miles from a small town named Yellowstone with only 20,000 population.

She turns to face Doctor Willis age 54 and divorced. He had been working on the type of special alloy on the five small pieces he was testing, while others were sent to other labs.

"Do you have the report Doctor Willis?" she says with a stern tone of voice.

She handed her the five-page computer report into her hands covered in blue gloves. She took a deep breath when she turned on the front screen to read it.

Meanwhile, Captain Jemeny Cobbs will wait for the report with his hands on his sides.

After a few moments of reading the numbers on the front screen of the computer. She will say the following to Doctor Willis.

She faces him.

"Are you sure about all this Doctor?" she cried out with her question. While the rest of the workers continued with their work.

"The report is correct Doctor Jance indicating that alloy is unknown to us. However, if Klatu was here. He will be able to tell us." Doctor Willis needed to say.

This is when Doctor Jance blows up from her emotions. "DON'T YOU DARE MENTION THAT ALIEN EVER AGAIN! She cried out with Captain Cobbs wanting to know more...

Captain Cobbs asked the following..."What the hell are you talking about Doctor Willis?" he waited for an answer to the question.
