His eyes fluttered open as the light shined through the almost decade-old blinds and curtains. He rolled over on his side, lifting up on his arm to look at the sleeping figure that was his wife. Dark lashes peeked through the mixture of blankets, sheets, and hair that obstructed the side view of the face of his beloved. How someone could get so tangled up while sleeping, he'd never know, but it was endearing.

He kissed her forehead, making her stir. Trinka turned to see her tired husband after a while of being in the same position. Katsuki's hair, messy and fluffy but that's how she liked it and he was ok with that. The smell of old mint and morning breath floated around as the pair both yawned, falling into each other. Katsuki kissed her head tenderly as he rubbed her very tight back from the day before. As the pair started to wake up fully, Katsuki finally spoke.

"Good morning… Did you sleep at all?" His voice sounded gruff as his throat was most likely sore from the snores during the night. Trinka dug her face into the crick of Katsuki's warm neck in an attempt to stay warm on the rather chilly morning. She nodded in response before groaning in an attempt to warm her soft voice. It soon filled the room, and Katsuki loved to hear it in the morning.

"Yeah! I actually slept well. How about you, my love?" She asked as she rubbed her hands over his chest before laying her head against it, hearing his slow but steady heartbeat. The corners of his lips turned upright as his hand combed carefully through the knots of her hair.

This was the usual morning they always had; Calm, peaceful, and loving. She kissed his cheek tenderly before the bedroom door flew open and three crazy-haired kids ran into the room; granted one of them was twenty-two, but to the sleepy pair he was still their little boy they had adopted when he was twelve.

Mika, Kayuza, and Haru all ran in and jumped on top of the couple who tried to get more sleep. Katsuki stifled a groan and instead laughed as he pulled his youngest boy into his lap sitting up while doing so. Trinka held her daughter rocking her gently as Haru sat at the end of their bed yawning and adjusting his hair.

"How's college going Haru? Are you doing well?" Katsuki finally said after taking a break from playfully kissing and tickling his son with Trinka. Haru smiled before gruffly replying,

"Yeah, we have a day off so I'm going out with Uncle Sho and the twins. He wants to go out with auntie and have a picnic. Is that ok, dad?" Katsuki looked at Trinka before sighing, letting Kayuza slip off his lap, his nightshirt lifting, waiting for Haru to fix it for him.

"Yeah, you can. Thank you for asking. I think your mom and I need a day to ourselves." Before anyone could agree, the white and red-haired male walked into the room with a bag in his arms, yawning as well.

"Hey we're heading out, I'll get the twins ready if that's ok with you two?" Trinka, who was already up and moving, walked over and held her cousin's cheek as a sign of appreciation before hugging him.

"Thank you so much, Sho. Make sure they behave. I don't need a call saying they did something so bad I need to file a police report." She slowly looked back at her two wide-eyed twins sitting next to each other before charging and falling on top of them and onto the bed. Giggles more prominent than before filled the room, and Katsuki laughed softly before standing up and grabbing his shirt from off the floor and casually putting it on before looking at Shoto,

"Yeah what Trin said. Just be careful and shit. If you need anything just call me will ya?" Shoto nodded at his friend's request before looking at Haru.

"Alright, grab one and I'll grab the other." Haru nodded and swiftly grabbed one of his younger siblings who desperately tried wiggling out of his brother's tight grasp.

"You two behave, alright? Are we clear?" Katsuki said as he stooped down to the twins' level and looked them both in the eyes. They both quickly nodded before showing their toothy grins

"You got it daddy!" Mika said as she reached for her father's head which he quickly let her grab onto.

After everyone bid their ados and left, the house was quiet. Eijiro and Aiyo were out doing their separate jobs while Denki and Kyoka were on a vacation they so very well deserved.

As Trinka sauntered down the stairs after brushing her hair and teeth she walked to the kitchen where Katsuki was already cooking one of his favorite foods which Trinka loved as well. Onigiri with a spicy twist of wasabi on the side, for the spice they both craved desperately on that morning. As Katsuki was finishing up she wrapped her arms around his torso, hugging him as tight as her body could. He grinned as he tried to move around the kitchen carefully to not disrupt her while also making sure they were both safe from anything sharp or hot. She finally let go as he started serving the food. The steam rising from the rice made both of their mouths water but strangely it felt like he had already felt this before… all of it. He brushed it aside as they both sat down on their designated bar stools,

Silence continued as they ate and caught up on the news. Trinka looked at her husband who was sipping on his morning coffee before leaning on him and breaking the silence.

"Hey, let's go out for the day, just you and me!" Katsuki glanced at her before switching his phone off and turning to his over-excited wife.

"Oh yeah? And do what?" She paused, realizing she hadn't thought that far, but she was determined to not let that stop her and Katsuki from having the best day off they both deserved. She shrugged before standing up and running to the stairs,

"JUST GET READY. I'LL BE DONE IN TWENTY!"She yelled.

Hesitantly Katsuki picked up both plates and trudged to the sink, placing them in it before going to meet his wife's requests. Still, the feeling of deja vu weighed over his chest. He couldn't shake the feeling the whole time he showered and dressed himself.

Seconds before the clock had hit 10:35 Katsuki was already waiting for Trinka to keep her promise of only taking twenty minutes to get ready for whatever adventures their day would give them.

"Alright let's go. I think our favorite cafe is open now!" Trinka said as she walked down the stairs. Katsuki turned around thoughtlessly until he saw her. She was in their favorite white cargos and Katsuki's old skull shirt from high school. He never threw it out since Trinka was very fond of it; It could have been the smell that lingered on it or the fact that half of their relationship was in that shirt. The memories, some good, some bad. Even so, it would always be her favorite shirt until she died and she made that promise the day she took it out of the box of old clothing when they moved. "Katsuuuuu" Was the voice the blond male heard coming back from his daydream, the voice sounding more annoyed but still playful. "You back? You kinda drifted away from me!" She slid her hands around his waist smiling up at him causing him to kiss her head in response.

"Sorry, you just surprised me by wearing that shirt. No offense but I thought you threw that old thing out years ago." Her face lit up before letting him go.

"I would never let this shirt go, you idiot!" Reaching a hand up to his nicely styled hair was yet again ruined by the aggressive shake and pull of his poor hair strands.

"Augh- Ok, ok let my hair go!" Katsuki pulled her hands away holding both wrists to prevent his extremely energetic wife from ruining his hair any further. "You're going to kill my hair that's very much alive." She snickers before pulling away and running to the door, looking back at the tired male who looked like he hadn't slept in a few days.

"C'mon, old man, the cafe will fill up quickly."She joked. Katsuki looked at Trinka stunned before running a hand through his hair in an attempt to calm it down but glaring at her all the while.

"You did not just call me "old man"."They stood in a standoff, waiting and watching, before the tense moment between the two abruptly ended as the young brunette made a break for the car as an attempt to not deal with her husband's wrath; which completely failed as he ran right after her and picked her almost weightless body into his arms. "Ha! Got you! Can't run away from me that fast, darling." He cheered.

A red tint spread around Trinka's cheeks before she pushed out of his arms and got into the car. Katsuki, proud of himself, got in his designated seat of the car (the driver's seat) and held Trinkas hand as he pulled out of their driveway.

Their day was filled with adventures, from going to their favorite Cafe, to finding themselves sitting down near a river under cherry trees resembling the ones they got married under. Trinka's head was placed in Katsuki's lap as they watched the ducks, leaves, and whatever else flowing in the river, pass them by. Moments went by before the silence broke.

"What would you do if I resigned from being a hero?" Katsuki's attention was immediately drawn down to her as the question, while strange, was not uncommon, as they had talked about it before.

"Uh… I don't know. It's honestly your decision and I can't stop you from that. If that's what you want to do with your life, then I'll support you." He stated, "But can I ask why?" She sat up to look at him before kissing his cheek softly.

"No reason… just a question." she smiled, "Thank you for today, I loved every second of it."

Katsuki let a small smile of his own out before kissing her gently, his hand on her cheek, before she pulled him into a hug. Everything was quiet, peaceful from the crazy world they had to live in. Away from having to fear every day for their kids and themselves as well as the society they were surrounded by.

Katsuki let his face burrow into her neck and held her tight. Her smell filled his mind, almost making him tired in a way. To him, it was intoxicating, even if it was mixed with his own cologne. He closed his eyes. He felt free. Free from everything.

"Katsuki?" he heard a voice from behind him call out, but ignored it, succumbing to the tiredness he felt. "Katsuki!" The call sounded again, more worried this time around, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up before he let go of Trinka. The thing was, she wasn't there. The smell, the warmth he felt was gone. His eyes widened in panic. "Katsuki?!" He looked around to find himself standing near a grave, and a man he hadn't spoken to in months was standing next to him. "What the hell are you doing, man?! You left your kids alone in a house for god knows how long and I find you here unresponsive over her grave?!" Katsuki's tired eyes trailed to look at Shoto's concerned, angered, drained eyes. Katsuki looked around before snapping back into reality, the reality he hated the most.

"W-Wait no! She was right here! She was…She was hugging me! We were out all day, you took the twins… What did you do you bastard?!" Shoto stepped back before sighing tearfully.

"She's been gone for 3 months… you're sick, Katsuki, you need help!" Everything stopped. He didn't believe the words he was hearing, but he knew they were true. He remembered everything since that horrid day. Since that day he got the call saying his wife was shot and killed while taking the kids to school. The day he lost the person who cared about him the most.

She was gone, but in his mind, he didn't want to believe it. Now it all came back to him like a wave crashing over him, making him unable to breathe. His knees buckled before he fell to the ground. Tears began to sting at the back of his eyes. He tried desperately to blink them away in an attempt to maybe see if this was all a dream, but it wasn't.

It was a nightmare that he could never wake up from.

Shoto had kept him from falling face down on the ground and finally pulled him into a hug; tears falling on his knitted sweater as his own eyes filled with the salty liquid. "I miss her too," Shoto spoke, unevenly, as his voice wavered.

Katsuki sobbed until he finally let the tiredness take him back to the place where he was before. Trinka's face was still fresh in his mind and he didn't want to leave, never again. He would do whatever he could to keep it that way, no matter what people said.
