In a facility resembling an army training ground, Serbia and Germany walk in.
"You have been in so many military exercises on all sides, are you sure you can handle them all?" he asks stern and slightly annoyed.
"A small price to pay for neutrality" she replies coldly.
Germany takes the schedule and says: "It looks like the two teams are next...You know, you really are lucky. You are gathering so much experience for a real war it's astounding."
"Oh I really hope there isn't another one. Because if you bomb me, just one more time, I may have to make your skull into a drinking cup" she says dead serious.
Confused, Germany replies: "Is that some sort of Balkan joke I'm to European to understand?"
"We'll see" she utters not changing her expression. "Just don't be a jerk to anyone. Especially to Poland and Russia!"
Giving her the schedule, he turns towards the viewing screen, and states with confidence: "Do not feel too bad about today's defeat. Remember, it's just for practice purposes."
"What makes you say that? My boys can still win...I mean I'm really really really well-equipped and your a bit out of shape..."
"Don't be preposterous! I'm always in shape. And besides nothing can beat the discipline of my army!" Germany states offended.
The clogs in her head turn making her smirk. "You really think discipline is that important?"
"Oh course!"
Pondering for a second, Serbia shrugs and asks for one of her commanders to come over. "You sure all those guns are not loaded? I' wouldn't want an international incident..."
Germany observes her suspicious. "Yes...Everything was checked and prepared in advance. Why do you ask?"
"Oh...no reason" she says and whispers something into the soldier's ear. He nods and salutes before returning to his position.
Watching the exercise from the safety of the glass enclosure, everything seems normal. It is an old-fashioned infantry exercise. The teams take their positions and then...someone starts yelling our German surnames in authoritative fashion.
The soldier's stand up yelling "Present" before being marked as shot. This continues for some time, with more and more names and surnames being shouted out, more of them standing in attendance after which they get marked. Turns out that her soldiers have been yelling out the names and shooting at anyone who stood out. Germany observes flabbergasted.
"Yeah, I can see you have drilled them well" Serbia says nonchalantly. He turns away from her giggling expression and looks back at the training ground. The results are overwhelmingly in her favour.
I saw this story from WW1 in an old TV show.
