Now, let's resume our hellish tale!
Welcome To Hell Part 2
'Can it do other things, or is that the only thing it can do?' He questioned as the cat started to levitate down the hallway, moving its limbs as it went, while he followed it closely, not wanting to get lost or possibly jumped by a demon from one of the many doors in the hallway. 'Like, can it breathe fire? Teleport? Shapeshift?' He continued as he looked at the cat while he walked, feeling rather nervous about being outside his room.
He followed the cat demon down the hallway until he reached the lobby, which he saw was empty, much to his relief, before he saw the cat head towards the corner to the right of the bar. "Is the kitchen that way kitty?" he asked the cat as he watched it, looking back at him once it reached the corner. The cat blinked once at him in response, before it turned and headed around the corner, prompting him to hurry after it. "I'll take that as a yes," he said in a somewhat hushed voice as he looked around quickly, afraid that he might catch someone's attention.
He discovered that another hallway was in the wall around the corner, and followed the cat down it for about fifteen feet, passing by several doors that had various danger and health hazard signs on them, before the cat turned to the right and started down another hallway lined with fewer doors that was longer than the one he was in. "How close are we to the kitchen?" He wondered as he went down the hallway after the cat, looking at the doors that he was starting to pass. "Do we have much farther to go?" He continued, before he started to smell something delicious, causing his stomach to growl loudly with hunger. 'Wow, I didn't think I could smell something so good in Hell!' He thought with surprise as he sniffed the air again, before he spotted the cat going into an open doorway on his right up ahead. 'I only thought bad smells and other horrible things would be in Hell, like everyone else says,' he continued as he headed over to the doorway and started to go inside, only to stop and quickly get out of sight. He then carefully leaned out so that he could just see through the doorway.
The doorway led to a large kitchen that had gentle pink wallpaper with red apples on it, along with creamish-white wooden trim at the top and at the bottom, with said trim having snakes carved into it, and the smooth floor had a beautiful white and gold checkered tile pattern. Multiple beautiful wooden cabinets were set around the room along with cream countertops, with them being a darker cream color than the trim and having dark black snake-shaped handles. A few white stoves and ovens with black knobs and tops sat against the opposite wall, with a rather large white sink with gold knobs sitting not far from it. A rather large white fridge with black cobra-shaped handles sat against the right, with a large empty space right between the fridge and the countertop, as if something was supposed to be there. A large pair of light red wooden doors with round black knobs and slats in them sat in the left wall of the rectangular room, while a set of dark red swinging doors with large round windows in the top and gold metal plates sitting where the handles would have normally been sat near the far left corner of the room. The ceiling was a darker shade of pink and had two gold chandeliers hanging from it, with the branches of the chandeliers having scale patterns on them and the apple-shaped bulbs sitting in open snake mouths.
The reason he'd gotten back out the room so quickly was because it was not empty. The short demoness, who he remembered was named Niffty, was running about in the spotless room while muttering a mile a minute. "Gotta get this! Add a little of that! Stir this! Check that!" She said as she ran around the kitchen, grabbing utensils and ingredients that she used on a couple steaming pots sitting on one stove while also checking on something in the oven.
'Shoot! How am I going to get something to eat while she's in there?!' He thought with alarm, before he spotted the cat head over to Niffty as she stirred one of the pots. 'Oh, please don't give me away!' he continued as he watched the cat get closer and closer to her, before he moved back and pressed his back against the wall.
"Oh! There you are KeeKee!" he heard Niffty say happily, before the cat let out a "Meow." "We were wondering where you were! Dinner's almost ready!" She continued, causing Gavin to let out a quiet sigh of relief.
'Oh thank goodness! She didn't find me!' he thought as he stood there, listening as KeeKee the cat demon let out another "Meow."
"Did you meet the man in the hotel?!" Niffty asked her excitedly as he heard her tap a utensil several times against a pot. "Isn't he so cute?" She continued in a tone that Gavin was not quite able to place, but it sent shivers down his spine.
'Okay, didn't expect a demon to call me cute, and I don't quite know how to feel about that,' he thought to himself, before his stomach growled loudly, causing his eyes to widen with alarm. 'Shit!'
"OH! Sounds like someone's hungry!" Niffty said with alarm, before a loud chuckle rang out of her mouth, sending another shiver down his spine.
'Oh no!' Gavin thought with fear, before he started to slowly back away from the door, only for his body to bump into a warm object behind him, causing his eyes to widen greatly as he stopped moving. He slooooowly turned his head to see what he had bumped into, and his heart started to race as he saw the grinning face of Astoria right behind him, causing his face to pale a bit.
"Why, my dear joe, if you'd wanted to kibosh your hunger, all you had to do was ask!" Astoria said with a grin, before she pushed the side of her thin cane against his back as she moved to his side, forcing him to walk with her. "Niffty dear, we'll be having the human with us tonight," She continued as they entered the kitchen, causing Niffty to let out an excited gasp.
"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" She exclaimed before she zipped out of the room through the swinging doors in a near blur, causing Gavin to gulp nervously, while the cat looked at him and mewed once more.
"Now dear human, you should be excited!" Astoria said with glee as she led him over to the swinging doors and pushed them open with a hand, while the cat levitated past them. "We're having jambalaya tonight!" She continued.
The doors led to a large dining room that had dark red and pink striped wallpaper and wooden cream trim running along the bottom. The ceiling was covered in a large mural of an apple tree with a black and gold serpent wrapped around it, with a bright red shiny apple in its mouth. A long dark brownish red wooden table sat in the middle of the room, with about ten chairs set at one end. The table had curved legs that ended in three toed draconic feet that were planted firmly on the floor, and a long bright red cloth ran down the center of the table up to where the last chair was located, with a bouquet of red and yellow flowers that looked remarkably like eyes sitting in a small white vase covered in gold serpents sitting on top of the cloth in the middle of it. The wooden chairs were the same color as the table and had the same type of legs as well, but the toes of the feet were wrapped around black wooden orbs. The cushions of the chairs were black with red stripes, and the backs of the chairs were pitch black with domed tops, with a heart carved out of the very top. A couple empty China cabinets sat on either side of the table, black in color with dark red snakelike handles on them.
The demoness named Charlie was sitting at the head of the table, with the gray-skinned demon, who he was pretty sure was named Vaggie or something similar, sitting to her right. To her left no one was sitting, with the cat demoness he'd seen at the bar sitting a few chairs down from Vaggie, a large bottle of alcohol in her hands as she sat grumpily in her seat. On the floor to the left was a gold stand made of metal serpents, with two black round bowls in it, one filled with water and the other with chunks of meat, and the cat demon that he'd followed was currently eating from it.
Niffty was rapidly preparing the seat next to Charlie with a large, almost manic grin on her face. "Gotta get this, put that there! Make sure it's all clean!" She said, while Charlie and Vaggie watched her move with intrigue.
"Well everyone, look who's decided to join us for dinner!" Astoria proclaimed with a growing grin as she pushed Gavin forward, catching their attention.
"Oh, how wonderful!" Charlie exclaimed with glee as she turned to look at him, while Vaggie narrowed her eye with suspicion. The cat demoness, whose name he had forgotten, rolled her eyes before she started to drink her alcohol. "I'm so glad you decided to give us a chance!" She continued as Gavin stood there with a very nervous look on his face as he looked at them, his heart racing.
"More like he's being forced to," Vaggie muttered quietly, with Charlie not hearing her at all as she looked at Gavin with excitement.
"Oh! Your seat is reaaaady, Gavin!" Niffty said with a large Cheshire-like grin, her pupil shrinking a bit as she looked at him while gesturing to his seat with a cream-feather feather duster. "Sit down! Sit down!" She continued eagerly, prompting him to gulp nervously before he slowly headed towards the chair, prompting her to step back.
'Oh Kami! Oh Kami! I'm screwed!' He thought as he reached the chair and carefully sat down, preparing himself for pain, as he'd figured the chair was a trap of some sorts. 'There's no way I can run away from here! Astoria can get me at any moment! And she said she's not as bad as other demons out there!' He continued with a shudder as he thought of what the rest of Hell could be like. 'Oh Kami what am I going to do?!' he finished, before he blinked as he put his entire weight on the cushion, only to feel no pain whatsoever, even when he put his back against the rear cushion.
'Huh, so no traps in the seat,' He thought with surprise, rocking side to side a bit to feel out the entire cushion, while Niffty grinned widely and then zipped back off to the kitchen. 'I didn't expect that,' He continued, before his stomach growled with hunger once more, causing him to blush with embarrassment.
"Ahah! Someone sounds rather hungry!" Astoria said with a laugh as she looked at him. "Niffty dear! Make sure to give the human here a generous portion of my jambalaya!" She continued before laughing again and turned her attention back to him. "Did I ever tell you about my jambalaya?" She asked him, causing him to arch an eyebrow with confusion.
"Um, no," he replied, while Vaggie said "Yes" in a bored tone.
"Oh! Well, my mother once showed me a wonderful recipe for jambalaya! In fact, it nearly killed her!" She said with a laugh, causing his confused look to grow a bit.
'Is she joking, or actually serious?' he thought as he looked at her.
"You could say the kick was right out of Hell!" She continued with another laugh.
'Oh, so she was joking,' He thought with a bit of relief, before he found himself chuckling at the cheesy joke, a smile growing on his face.
"Haha! There's that smile!" Astoria said happily right before the doors swung open again and Niffty came running into the room, a black tray in her hands that was at least two times as wide as she was tall and loaded with food and black pitchers holding liquid of some sort. "My mother always taught me to smile when I was at dinner!"
"Dinnertiiiime!" Niffty cried out with glee, before she headed over to Gavin. "I hope you enjoy it, Gavin," She said with a purr as her pupil shrunk down again, sending a large shiver down his spine. She then quickly put on a huge portion of jambalaya on the black plate in front of him, along with some other food and filled his reddish clear glass with what appeared to be a red liquid, before she dished food to the others, although not giving them nearly as much as she'd given him.
Gavin stared at the plate of food in front of him, as it wasn't quite what he was expecting. Yes, the rice of the jambalaya was a dark red instead of the typical white or yellow and the pile of what he assumed was mashed potatoes was black instead of white or yellow, but otherwise it looked exactly like a meal he could find back on Earth, with even the cornbread looking the same.
'Okay, so it looks normal,' he thought as he picked up his black and gold fork, which had a serpent's tail at the end of it. 'But is it okay for me to eat? I mean, this is food from Hell. What if it poisons me or curses me or something?'
"Gavin, is everything alright?" Charlie asked him as she set her fork down, looking at him with concern. "You haven't touched your food," She continued while Vaggie and the cat demoness ate. "Do you not like it?"
"W-Well," Gavin began nervously, attempting to keep his fear down as he stared at the food. "Is this g-going to k-k-kill me? Or p-poison me in any way?" He asked as he looked at them.
"What?! No! It's not going to do that at all!" Charlie exclaimed with alarm, while Vaggie rolled her eyes with a sigh. "It's just good food!"
"Are you sure?" He asked as he looked back at the food. "It's not going to kill me, or birth some sort of eldritch/demonic horror in me?" he continued, causing Vaggie to let out a snort as she swallowed a bite of food.
"Of course not!" Charlie replied with a firm shake of her head, a horrified look on her face. "We'd never do that in the hotel!" She continued with a firm tone.
"My dear joe, I'd never do a thing like that to my mother's jumbalaya!" Astoria said with a shake of her head.
"And I'd never kill a man with cooking!" Niffty added with very quick shakes of her head. "That'd be such a horrible waste of food! And you're such a cutie, I wouldn't want to kill you!" She continued with a tone he couldn't quite place, although it seemed very familiar to him, before she zipped back out of the room, leaving Gavin with a confused look on his face.
'…okay, I didn't expect to hear a demon call me a "cutie,"' He thought, feeling a mixture of fear, confusion, and shock. 'Never would have expected that to happen.'
"W-W-Well, if you say so," He replied, before he picked up his fork and gingerly got a mouthful of jambalaya on it. 'Oh please don't do anything bad to me! Please don't!' He thought as he stared at the food on his fork for a few more seconds, before he quickly put it into his mouth and started to chew.
His eyes shot wide open as a burst of intense flavor hit his tongue as he chewed on the jambalaya, and a loud happy hum rang out of his mouth while he looked down at the jambalaya. "Mmmmm, this is delicious!" he exclaimed after swallowing his first bite of jambalaya and got another, causing Charlie to smile and Astoria's grin to widen as she walked over and sat down a few chairs over from him.
"I know, right?!" Charlie said eagerly as she resumed digging into her food. "It's the best food I've had, besides my mom's cooking," She continued with a warm smile as memories of her mother's dishes ran through her mind.
"It's…okay," Vaggie said flatly as she ate.
"Ah, I'm so glad to see that you, young man, are enjoying my mother's jambalaya," Astoria said happily as she watched him eat. "It's been a very long time since a human enjoyed it."
"How long's a long time?" he asked as he continued to happily eat the jambalaya.
"Oh, that was shortly before my death on Earth and I awoke here as I am now, a demon," Astoria said right as he put a forkful of jambalaya in his mouth, causing Gavin's eyes to widen with shock and nearly choke on the jambalaya in his mouth.
He cleared his throat a couple times and grabbed his full glass quickly to help wash it down. He found that it was some sort of fruit punch that was rather good, and he emptied the large glass before he spoke. "I'm sorry, you lived on Earth?" he questioned as he turned his head to look at the demoness.
"Well of course!" Astoria replied. "Many of the demons in the Pride Ring are former humans!" She continued, causing his eyes to widen even more.
"Wait, you were human?!" he exclaimed with shock as he stared at Astoria.
"As human as you are, my young joe," Astoria replied with a nod. "When my soul left my mortal body, I found myself here in Hell in this new demonic form. An experience all sinners go through when they die on Earth," She continued, before a hint of static rang out. "Unless of course, they go to Heaven," She finished, her grin growing a little.
"I didn't-You were-sinners become-demon transformation?!" He stammered, having been thrown a major loop. 'This is freaky! Humans who don't go to Heaven don't burn in a lake of fire, but instead live as demons themselves?! I don't remember hearing anything like that whenever religion was mentioned,' He thought with a furrowed brow, putting a hand to his forehead as he processed what he'd heard. 'Oh Kami this is crazy!'
Charlie looked at him with a bit of concern as he sat there, while Vaggie and the cat demoness continued to eat, with Vaggie watching him carefully as she did so.
"So, are all of you here sinner demons, or is Astoria here the only one?" He asked after a couple minutes had passed, lowering his hand back down to his fork so he could resume eating.
"Oh, no, I'm a Hellborn demon," Charlie replied with a shake of her head. "So are my friends Razzle and Dazzle, who you'll meet later, and KeeKee. Everyone else in the hotel are what Hellborn's call 'sinner demons,'" she explained.
"Okaaaay," Gavin said with a slow nod as he ate more and more jambalaya, loving the bit of heat it had and feeling a bit more relaxed, as none of them had made any attempt to hurt him in any way. And his personal view of Hell as just a pit of eternal punishment consisting of a giant lake of eternal powerful fire filled with demons had been shaken pretty well. "Astoria, your mother was amazing!" He continued as he looked at the demoness. "This is the best jambalaya I have ever eaten! What kind of meat is in this? Pig? Cow?...Do you guys even have those here?" he questioned as he looked from Astoria to Charlie.
"Mhm! Yeah, we have them here!" Charlie replied with a nod while the cat demoness drank some more of her alcohol, causing Vaggie to frown.
"Husk, you've had enough to drink," Vaggie said to the cat, who flipped her off in response, causing the gray-skinned demoness to growl with anger and frustration.
"And I can't say, my boy!" Astoria said with a smile, the static appearing again in her voice a bit. "The only two who know the entire recipe are me and our dear Niffty," She continued, while Niffty zipped out and refilled Gavin's glass with a large grin, before she giggled and zipped away. "And it'll stay that way until I say otherwise," She finished, with a bit of static appearing in the air around her as her eyes briefly changed into radio dials again.
"O-O-Okay," Gavin stammered with a bit of fear running through him at the sight, before he turned his attention to the cornbread, having just finished the jambalaya. He cut the large chunk of cornbread into thirds with his fork, and then took a bite, humming with a bit of surprise as the cornbread's flavor hit his tongue. "Hmmm, you know, I've never really been a big fan of cornbread," he said as he chewed the bread and swallowed it, before he took a sip of his drink to help wash it down. "But this is really good. My compliments to the chef!" he continued as he took another bite.
As soon as those words left his mouth, a loud gasp followed by a squeal rang out from the kitchen, before Niffty zipped out of the kitchen and up to him, causing him to let out a yelp as she put her face about three inches from his as she stood on his legs. "Sweet Kami!" he exclaimed as her one eye stared at him, a massive grin on her face. He jumped so hard in fright that he nearly fell out of the chair, managing to catch himself by grabbing the edge of the table.
"Is it really that good?!" She asked him excitedly, looking at him like she was hanging on his every word.
"U-Um, yeah, it's the best cornbread I've had. And I've had a lot of cornbread," He replied, causing her grin to grow to Cheshire-cat size, before a massive squeal of happiness came out of her mouth as she danced in place on his legs. Then, she leaped off him and ran back into the kitchen while giggling like mad, leaving him feeling rather confused.
"Ummmm, do I need to worry about her?" He asked as he looked at Charlie with a bit of concern.
"Eheh, no, I don't think so. It's just Niffty being Niffty," Charlie replied with a wave of her hand and a smile, while Vaggie looked at him firmly.
"I think you should be," Vaggie said, causing his eyes to widen while Charlie looked at her with surprise.
"Oh come on Vaggie, you know how Niffty is! She's just excited that a human is here!" Charlie replied as she put one hand on hers.
"Charlie hon, I don't think that's i-" Vaggie began, only for Charlie to cut her off.
"I mean, he's the only human who's come to Hell and not been turned into a demon, as far as I know!" She continued as she looked back at Gavin. "Of course she'd be excited like I am! I've always wanted to talk with an untouched human!" She finished with a squeal of excitement.
"You…you have?" Gavin said with surprise and confusion as he resumed eating and finished off the cornbread, before he moved on to the final side, the mashed potatoes. "Why?" He asked right before he took a bite of the potatoes and immediately hummed with pleasure at the flavor, which was slightly rich and buttery with a smooth texture. 'Man this food's been better than I thought it'd be!' He thought as he ate more of the black potatoes.
"Well, my dad's always told me about humans and their ways," Charlie replied, looking away as she spoke and rubbed her arm. "And I've grown up around sinners, but I've never really interacted with humans outside of Hell," She continued, sounding a bit sad as she spoke.
"I see," Gavin said with a bit of surprise. "So me coming here like this is something you're really happy about?"
"Yes! Well, no," Charlie replied, sounding uncertain. "It's great that I'm finally meeting an untouched human, but not so great that you're here in Hell," She continued after several seconds had passed.
"Alright," Gavin said, surprised that she wasn't exactly happy he was in Hell. Then, he hummed as he tried to think of what else he could say. 'Hmmm, what do I say, or do?' he questioned as he finished the potatoes and drank some more punch. 'I mean, dinner's actually been pretty good. No one's tried to attack or poison me, as far as I know. And Charlie certainly doesn't seem like she's that bad a demon, which is really weird to say,' he continued with a cock of his head, while the cat demoness finished her bottle of alcohol and pulled out another from under her hat, opening it with one of her claws before she started to drink from it.
"So, what did you think of your first dinner in Hell?" Charlie asked him upon seeing his empty plate, a curious look on her face.
"It was pretty good," Gavin said with a quick gesture of his hands before he drank some more punch. "Not what I expected whatsoever," He continued.
Charlie opened her mouth to respond, only to be interrupted by a female voice that had a hint of an Italian accent to it along with something else.
"Hello girls! Did ya get any more wayward souls to come to this hotel while I was gone? Hahahaha!"
Gavin turned to see who had come into the room, and his eyes widened upon seeing a new demoness standing in front of the now-swinging doors.
Said demoness stood 8 feet tall, and had white fur covering the parts of her slender body not covered by clothes. A mop of fluffy white hair extended from the front and back of her head, with light-pink splotches scattered across it. Her eyelids were light pink and the color extended up to her thin black eyebrows, giving her the appearance of wearing eyeshadow. The lashes of her eyes were pitch black and thick. Her right eye had light yellow sclera, the left one had black sclera, and her irises were cerise pink, with three pink dots underneath each eye. Her large mouth was in a smile, showing sharp white pointed teeth, with one fang near the upper middle of her mouth being gold in color, and her plump lips had light pink lipstick on them.
Her chest appeared to be quite large despite her slender frame, although he was rather uncertain of its size, as the suit-blazer she was wearing was hugging it quite well and pushing her chest out. Said blazer covered her shoulders and ran down her arms. It was light pink with horizontal white stripes that went down the entire length and had a large window to show off her cleavage, with the window edges in black. The blazer ended right at the tops of her rather thick thighs, with a "V" shaped cut in the middle edge of the bottom, showing off the reddish-grey miniskirt that hugged her rather large rear.
On her rather long legs were a pair of long reddish-grey high-heeled boots that had pointed toes and hugged her thick thighs all the way to the middle of them, leaving the rest exposed up to where the blazer ended.
To his amazement, she had four long arms that ended in slender hands that had long slender pointed fingers. The upper pair of arms had long cerise pink gloves that hugged the limbs and ended in white frilly cuffs right below her shoulders, covering the sleeves of the suit-blazer. The lower limbs had long white gloves covering them, and ended a few inches before her sides, with the suit-blazer's sleeves covering the rest of the arms.
Completing her look was a solid black choker set around the top of her somewhat long thin neck and a reddish-grey bowtie sat around the bottom of it, with the bowtie having a cerise pink center.
"…No," Charlie replied with a look of disappointment, causing the demoness to laugh a little longer as she walked over and sat down next to Husk, who continued to drink her alcohol.
"Well, maybe you'll find some sort of hapless chucklefuck who believes in your idea of redemption tomorrow," The demoness said as she leaned back in her seat and adjusted her chest in her suit-blazer, which prompted Gavin to immediately look away, not wanting to be a pervert.
'I guess she lives in the hotel as well,' He thought while Niffty zipped out with a plate of food and placed it in front of the demoness, before giggling as she glanced at him and then ran off.
"So, Husky, did you miss me?" The demoness said lustfully as she looked at the cat demon, who rolled her eyes.
"Fuck off Angela!" Husk replied with annoyance.
"Not until you give me a kiss, kitty cat!" Angela teased with a flutter of her lashes, causing Husk to groan and flip her off before she drank more alcohol. "Oh come on, you know you want to," She continued as she stroked the cat demon's chin, prompting Husk to growl angrily and swat her hand away.
At that, Angela laughed loudly, before she started to eat, humming happily at the taste. "Smiles! This is some good shit! What do you put in this, crack?!" She asked with a laugh, causing Vaggie to frown, Charlie to gain an uncomfortable look, and Astoria to cock her head slightly.
"Why, my darling dame, as I told our joe here, I'd never spoil my mother's jambalaya with anything!" Astoria said as she gestured to Gavin with a tilt of her head. "Much less with angel dust."
"I'm sorry…'angel dust?'" Gavin repeated with confusion, blinking a few times as he turned to look at Astoria. "What the heck is that?"
"It's PCP," Vaggie replied bluntly, causing his eyes to widen with realization.
"Ohhhhh! I see," Gavin said with a nod. "I get i-"
"Who the fuck are you?" Angela asked him with confusion and interest, cutting him off.
"Angela, this is Gavin. Gavin, this is Angela," Charlie said, introducing the two to each other.
"Heh, so princess here got you roped into this redemption thing too," Angela said before she chuckled, while Charlie frowned.
"Um, no, not really," Gavin replied with a shake of his head. "I mean, it's an interesting idea, but I'm not here for that," he continued, causing Angela to stop laughing and look at him with an arched eyebrow.
"Then for what fucking reason are you here for?" She questioned, before she looked accusingly over at Charlie. "Is he your secret boy toy? Did Vaggie here finally find a man she trusts and wants to fuck her taco?" She asked, causing Vaggie's eyepatch to start to glow as she glared daggers at Angela.
"Angela!" Vaggie growled with rage, while Gavin's face heated up with a blush, as did Charlie's.
"No!" Gavin and Charlie exclaimed together. "Nothing like that!" Charlie continued. "He's a human!"
"Bang!"
Gavin jumped upon hearing the sound of wood hitting something hard, and turned to the source of the sound, where he saw another demoness walk through the doorway, the doors having been pushed all the way so that they had hit the doorframe hard.
This demoness stood 5 feet tall and looked similar to a canine, with a short snout that ended in a black nose. Her fur was white, with her cheeks having extra fluff that stuck out a bit. Her hair was thick, messy, and light grayish-white in color, with the front part curving over her left ear and ending right below her nose in a blood red coloration. A tall fringe stuck out right next to the curved part of the hair, also ending in blood red colors. The back of her hair stuck out almost like a ponytail, going up about half a foot above the top of her fringe before it dipped down quickly, curving inwards right before curved backwards and ended in a pointed edge. Said edge was colored blood red, with two small thin blood red stripes right above it that ended not even halfway across her hair, while a few fringes of her hair further up also had blood red ends.
The demoness' ears were about a foot tall and shaped like a tear-drop, with short black fur covering the outside of the ears, while the inside of the ears were blood red and shaped like upside down hearts. Lining the left edge of her right ear were three black ring piercings, and some dark red spots were scattered underneath her ears, with dark red freckles underneath her eyes. Said eyes were large with light yellow sclera, the pupils were black and round, and her irises were hot pink. Her lips were pitch black and somewhat plump.
A dark red one-piece dress hugged her large chest and flat belly and ended right below her large butt in a straight-edged skirt with a white human-like jawless skull on the chest. A thick black collar hung loosely around her somewhat skinny neck, with short silver spikes on the collar, while her fur stuck out from the wide neckline of her dress, an extra puffy tuft of fur sticking out the back of the base of her neck. A black, long-sleeved jacket sat on her body, hanging down to the tops of her thighs, with a couple tears in the bottom edge. The right black sleeve ran all the way up to the middle of her palms, while the left sleeve was ripped off right below the shoulder, revealing the white fur on her arm, which had a few blood red spots on it of various sizes. A short black glove sat on her left four-fingered hand, with her fingers having short sharp points on the ends of them. On her right leg, which ended in a roundish paw that she stood on the toes of, was a black legging that hugged her flesh and ended right below the middle of her thick thighs. The edge of the legging had a few tears in it. Her left foot had enough legging to just reach halfway towards her ankle, and a few black strips were wrapped around her ankle and right above it, looking almost like cruel claws holding onto her leg. Her left leg was covered in several blood red spots of varying size, and a large bushy tail stuck out of her rear, running down to her right above her ankles and curving sharply upwards to form a fringed point. The majority of the tail was blood red, with white on the fringed edge and a couple very thin white stripes hugging either side about four inches above the end, running about halfway across the tail before ending in thin points.
She had a bored look on her face, and her arms were crossed as she headed towards Gavin, who looked at her with intrigue, confusion, and a bit of nervousness. Said nervousness grew as she walked over and sat down in the chair next to him, kicking up her feet and leaning back.
"Crymini, feet off the table," Vaggie said to her firmly.
"I'll do what I want," Crymini replied with a flippant tone, her voice sounding somewhat high-pitched with a bit of a dark timbre to it. "You're not my mom!" She said before Niffty zipped out with food for her, which she snatched from her quickly and aggressively before she set it on her lap and started to eat it with a hand.
"Charlie babe, big deal," Angela replied with a wave of a hand as she went to drink from her glass again. "Smiles was human, I was human, Cranky Bitch here was human," She continued with a chuckle, causing Crymini to let out a hyena-like growl as she glared at Angela. "A shit ton of demons down here were humans!"
"Yes, but Gavin's different! He's not a demon! He didn't die to get here!" Charlie exclaimed with excitement, causing Angela to choke on her drink, while Crymini arched an eyebrow as she looked at Gavin, who felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked back at her.
Angela coughed several times as she set her drink down, beating her chest with two of her hands while she looked at Gavin. "You're shittin me!" She said with disbelief. "There's no way he's not a demon! Everyone knows that humans become demons in Hell!" She continued, before Crymini started to sniff as she looked at him, her eyes narrowing as she did so.
Gavin leaned back a little as he looked at her with confusion. "What are you doing?" he questioned as she continued to sniff, getting a bit closer to him as he stared at her.
"Well, they're wrong!" Charlie replied firmly. "Gavin is clear proof of it!" she continued.
"You're fucking with me!" Angela exclaimed, a look of disbelief on her face as she looked from Charlie to Vaggie. "You bitches are fucking with me!"
"Why would we do that?!" Vaggie questioned with frustration, her patch glowing a bit, while Crymini's eyes widened suddenly as she finished sniffing.
"Holy fucking shit!" She exclaimed with surprise, catching their attention. "He isn't a demon!" She continued as she stared at him with shock.
"WHAT?!" Angela exclaimed, her head turning so fast towards Gavin that he thought it might snap. "He's not?! How the fuck do you know that Spots?!"
"Don't call me that!" Crymini growled angrily as she glared at the demoness. "And I know it cause he doesn't smell like anyone down here! He smells fresh! He doesn't stink of sulfur!" She continued with a frustrated tone before she started to stuff her face angrily. 'Which is a nice change,' She thought as she ate, her eye glancing at Gavin.
'Oh, so demons do have a sulfur smell to them!' Gavin thought as he looked at Crymini, before he moved on to the others. 'At least we humans got that part right about demons. I'm kinda scared about what else we got wrong about them,' He continued as his gaze moved from Astoria to Husk, who was still drinking her booze.
"…Well fuck me!" Angela said, causing Vaggie to frown more. "How'd ya get down in this shithole sweetie?" She asked him with a grin on her face, her voice gaining a familiar tone to it that he couldn't quite place. "Ya try to summon one of those succubus sluts?" She continued with a laugh.
"Um, no!" Gavin replied with a frown. "I wasn't trying to do any of that!" He continued quickly. "I got the wrong package in the mail, and when I dumped out the contents, this skull and pendant came out of it," he said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the pendant. "I touched it, and it sent me and everything I own here," he explained as he looked at the pendant, the red gem glistening in the light of the chandelier. "Then Astoria here came across me, and brought me here before any other demons could get to me, which I am thankful for," he continued, causing Astoria to grin a little wider as she looked at him.
"Holy fuck! Smiles brought you here?" Angela said, before she chucked as she ate a little more. "Shoot, you got some shitty luck kid!"
"Hey! It's not due to crap luck and I'm not a kid!" Gavin replied with a frown as he pocketed the pendant. "I'm 18 years old."
Before he could hear Angela's response, Niffty burst into the room while yelling out "DESSERT TIME!" in a gleeful tone, catching his attention. "I hope you still have room Gavin!" She said with a large grin as she ran over and set a plate in front of him after taking his dirty one. "I hope you like my Triple-layer Devil's Delight Fudge Cake!" She continued as she took Charlie, Vaggie, and Husk's empty plates and zipped back into the kitchen, while he stared at the dish in front of him with intrigue.
Sitting on the plate was a triangular piece of cake that was about 5 inches tall. The bottom was pitch black like tar and looked rather smooth, while the middle layer was a light brown color and also smooth. The top layer was a pale gray like that of a tombstone and had pitch black icing covering it that formed thick pointed ridges on the curved outside edge of the slice and a smooth layer right on top of the pale gray layer. Blood red icing separated the three layers, and a small gold serpent ran across the black icing, its tail coiled at the bottom of the edge while its head ended right before the tip of the slice.
Gavin stared at the slice of cake for several more seconds before he spoke. "Well, it looks really good," He said as he picked up the small fork on the plate and cut off the corner, before he opened his mouth and put the piece in it. 'Let's see if this tastes as good as the rest of dinner,' he continued, his guard down a little due to the dinner going well so far. Then, his eyes widened as the flavor hit his tastebuds. "Oh my goodness!" He exclaimed as he cut another piece. "This is the most delicious cake I've ever had!" He continued with a large smile as he chewed the piece, which tasted of rich dark chocolate with a hint of strawberries. "It's sooo rich!" He finished, before he put another piece into his mouth and hummed happily, closing his eyes as he did so.
"OOOOH, I'm so happy that you like it Gavin!" Niffty said with glee and a widening grin on her face as she zipped out the doors and placed plates of cake in front of Charlie and Vaggie. "Would you like some more?!"
"I'll be good with this piece for tonight. It's so rich that I better not eat anymore," Gavin replied, causing her grin to shrink a little, before her pupil shrunk as the sound of running water reached her ears.
"Oh no you don't!" Niffty exclaimed as she pulled out a plunger from her dress and headed back through the doors.
'Gosh this is delicious!' Gavin thought with a smile as he ate his cake while Charlie and Vaggie started to eat their slices, with Charlie letting out a happy squeal of delight upon tasting the flavor. 'A little too rich in my opinion, but still delicious!' he thought as he ate more cake, before he heard Angela speak.
"Oh, you poor baby!" She said to him, her voice oozing with concern, prompting him to open his eyes and look at her, where he saw that she had put her four hands to her face with alarm. "You must be so scared!" She continued, while Crymini rolled her eyes as she ate, and Vaggie looked at Angela suspiciously
"I-I am," Gavin replied with a nod as he ate another piece of cake, feeling a shiver run down his spine as her eyes seemed to pierce through him. "I mean, this is a nice dinner and all, but I d-don't want to be here. I want to be home," He continued, stammering as he got a bit emotional as he looked down, a tear forming in his eye before he took the last bite of his cake, finishing it off.
"Oh, don't cry sweetie!" Angela cooed as she looked at him, watching him chew the large chunk of cake. "A cute boy like you shouldn't cry!" She continued, reaching a hand out and gently wiping away the tear as it rolled down her cheek, which let him discover that her glove was made of a smooth and somewhat soft material. "How about I cheer you up?" She finished with a smirk, prompting Gavin to gain a confused look before he turned his eyes to her face.
"What do you meeAAAN?!" he exclaimed as he felt a hand grope his crotch, prompting him to quickly push himself away from the table.
"Oh, I think you know what I mean, big boy," She purred as she fluttered her eyes at him with what he realized was a lustful look on her face.
"Angela!" Vaggie shouted at her angrily, her eyepatch glowing brightly as she glared daggers at her.
"I-I-I'm going to go now!" Gavin said quickly as he hopped up out of his chair, a blush on his face. "I-It was n-nice to meet you all! Goodnight!" He continued quickly before he turned and hurried away.
"Goodnight, handsome!" Angela called out with a smirk and a wave as she watched him leave, before she resumed eating, while Vaggie glared at him and growled loudly, her hands clenched into fits. Charlie, meanwhile, was looking at the now-moving swinging doors with concern.
'Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck!' Gavin thought as he hurried through the kitchen, prompting Niffty to look up from her sweeping and look at him with concern. 'That happened! That happened!' he continued as he ran out of the kitchen and down the hallway without even looking at Niffty. 'Holy shit! Holy shit!'
He ran through the hallway and into the lobby, before he turned quickly and entered the hallway that his room was located on. He soon reached the door, and quickly pulled out the key for the room. After struggling for a few seconds due to a shaking hand, he managed to get the key into the lock and entered the room, locking it behind him quickly.
Then, he put his back to the door and put a hand to his beating chest. "Fuck I didn't see that coming!" He said as he stood there. "I mean, she was going after Husk, and then she went after me. What is she, some sort of human-turned-succubus?" he questioned with confusion, fear, and alarm, before he moved further into the room to grab clean pajamas. "I mean, I'm just average-looking. I'm not that handsome!" He continued as he pulled out a light blue tanktop and dark blue pajama pants with sleeping leopard seals on them, as well as a pair of dark green underwear and set the pendant on the bookshelf next to the skull, before he headed to the bathroom.
He shut the door behind him and locked it, before he undressed, looking at himself once he was finished to make sure that nothing physical had been affected by the change of location. "Phew, at least physically I'm okay," he said with relief, before he pulled out his soap and shampoo from the cabinet underneath the sink, having discovered his toiletries, towels, and sheets had ended up in the bathroom earlier. 'Mentally I'm freaking the fuck out!' He thought as he headed over to the shower and gingerly took hold of the apple-shaped gold knob that had a dark blue leaf on the top of the apple and turned it. 'Please don't be anything bad! Please don't be anything bad!' he begged as he heard the pipes groan and creak, before, with a loud spurt, clear water started to run out of the showerhead.
He closed his eyes, and gingerly reached a hand out to feel the water, expecting to feel the sting of acid or something painful hit his hand. Instead, he felt ice cold water hit his hand, prompting him to open his eyes and look at it with surprise. "It's…not hurting," he said with surprise. "It's just…cold!" he continued, before he reached over and started to turn the other apple-shaped knob, which had a red leaf on it.
The pipes groaned loudly once more as he turned the knob, his other hand touching the water as he did so. "Okay, it's getting warmer," he said as he watched the water, waiting for it to suddenly change color so that he could snatch his arm back before it got hurt. "Warmer…warmer…and that's good!" he continued as he stopped turning the knob and pulled his arm back.
He stood there for about three or four minutes, watching and occasionally touching the water to see if anything would change about it. To his surprise and great relief, nothing changed, so he hesitantly stepped into the shower, and pulled the shower curtain over.
'Okay, no melting skin or anything like that yet,' He thought as the warm water ran over his body. 'Very surprising given this is Hell!' he continued, before he sighed, looking down at the gold drain. "Why me?" He asked sadly. "Why was I the unlucky human to get dragged to Hell by a pendant?" he continued as he got emotional. "I'm going to die here! A demon's going to kill me, even when I'm being careful! I don't want to be stuck in Hell!" He cried out with fear, tears running down his cheeks as he stood there.
"I just want to go home!" He said sadly, sitting down on the floor of the shower and pulling his knees to his chin as he did so, crying into his arms. "I want to go home!" He repeated as the warm water continued to fall onto him while he sobbed.
He didn't know how long he sat there crying his eyes out, but eventually, his sobs died down into sniffles, and he rubbed his nose a few times. "*Sniff*I better *sniff* finish up *sniff* before I waste more water or *sniff* get cold," he said to himself, before he got up and started to rub shampoo and soap on his body.
It took him about fifteen minutes to clean himself, before he set his soap and shampoo to the side and turned off the water, causing the pipes to stop groaning. Then, he pulled back the curtain and stepped out of the bath, grabbing his towel as he did so to dry off.
Once he was dry, he put on his fresh underwear and pajamas, hung up his towel to dry on the silver scaly metal towel rod on the wall, and brushed his teeth, before he left the bathroom with his dirty clothes. "Well, I'm not watching TV tonight," He said sadly as he looked at the TV screen while he put his dirty clothes in his dark purple laundry basket sitting by the closet, a bit of fear running through him as he thought of what might possibly pop up on the screen. "Or probably ever until I leave Hell," he continued, before he heard a knock on the door, causing his heart rate to increase while his head turned towards the bedroom door.
"Knock! Knock!"
'Oh fuck! Please don't be Angela! Please don't be Angela!' Gavin thought with worry as he stared at the door, standing still like a statue while his heart raced with fear. 'Oh Kami!'
"Gavin?" Charlie's voice rang out through the door, full of concern. "Are you okay?"
'…It's Charlie,' he thought with surprise and a bit of relief. 'Why's she here?' He questioned. 'Is she here to hurt me? Or maybe kick me out of the hotel?' he thought with worry, his fear rising up as he looked at the door. 'Oh, please don't kick me out! I need a safe place to stay at while you find a way to get me home!' he continued, before he sloooowly started to move towards the door.
"Gavin?" Charlie repeated, sounding a bit more worried. "Can you here me?...Are you in there?" She continued as she knocked on the door again.
"…I'm in here, Miss C-Charlie," he replied with a slight stammer, feeling rather nervous as he reached the door.
"Oh good!" Charlie said with pure relief, a loud sigh coming out of her. "I was afraid you might have gotten lost in the hotel!" She continued in a joking tone.
"Eheh, yeah," Gavin replied with a half-hearted chuckle, still feeling rather nervous as he looked at the door. "What's up? Do you need something?" he asked her, feeling more nervous as he waited for her response. 'Like my soul?!' He thought with worry, remembering how demons were always portrayed as wanting people's souls back on Earth.
"Well, I just wanted to make sure you were okay, Gavin," Charlie replied, causing his eyes to widen with surprise. "And to apologize for Angela's actions," She continued, prompting him to arch his eyebrows.
He then reached out and unlocked the door, before he cracked it open enough so that he could see out of it, his shoulder pressed firmly against it just in case someone tried to rush inside. He saw that Charlie was standing about a foot from the doorway, one arm rubbing the other. "You're…apologizing for her?" he questioned. "Why? You're a demon. Shouldn't you be trying to encourage her to steal my soul or something like it?"
"What?! NO! No nonononono! I'm not encouraging her at all!" Charlie replied quickly with several hard shakes of her head, before she let out a deep sigh. "Look, I know you're scared. Really, really scared," She said as she looked at him. "But please trust me when I say that you are safe here! No one will hurt you!" She continued with a soothing tone in her voice.
"You promise?" He asked her after several seconds had passed, looking at her firmly. "You promise that no one here is out to hurt me?" He continued, opening the door a little more as he spoke.
"I promise, no one at the Happy Hotel is out to hurt you!" Charlie said firmly with a large smile. "And I also promise to help you get home as quickly and safely as possible!" She continued.
'Dear Kami she sounds and looks so sincere!' he thought as he looked at her smiling face. 'But do I trust her? I mean, she is a demon after all,' He continued, before he hummed in thought for several seconds. '…well, she does seem to be the nicest out of everyone here, besides Niffty.' "Alright, I'll hold you to that," He said with a small smile. "Goodnight, Charlie," He continued as he started to shut the door.
"Goodnight, Gavin!" She replied with a warm smile as she watched him shut and lock the door, before she sighed and walked away. 'Man what a day!' she thought as she walked down the hallway, while Gavin turned away from the door.
"Well, time for bed, I guess," Gavin said to himself as he looked at his bed, before he slowly walked over to the windows and pulled the curtains shut, not daring to look outside at the moment lest he be completely unable to sleep. 'Hopefully nothing happens to me while I sleep,' He thought as he got under the sheets with his plushies on either side of him, his back on the mattress while he looked up at the ceiling.
As he laid in the bed, thinking about what all had happened that day, he groaned. "Oh dear Kami what a day!" he said as he pulled his plushies closer to him. 'Ohhhh, I hope Charlie finds a way home for me quickly!' he thought as he started to get emotional once more, feeling very homesick.
"Fwoof!"
"What was that?!" he exclaimed as he shot up and looked towards his bedroom door with fright, before he let out a sigh of relief upon seeing the cat from earlier. "Oh thank goodness! It's just you!" he said with a smile as the cat headed towards him, before he laid back down in the bed,
The cat meowed quietly as it walked over to the bed and came to a stop right above his chest, its lone eye blinking slowly as it stared at him.
He sighed again as he looked at the demonic cat, taking note that when its ears were right next to each other the white spots on them formed a heart shape with each other, before he closed his eyes, and started to softly hum a tune, a small sad smile on his face as he laid there.
The cat watched and listened to him softly hum the tune for a couple minutes before it laid down in the air right above his chest, its eye still looking at him. It continued to listen to him hum for the next half hour, with it watching him the entire time, until finally, he fell asleep with a sad look on his face, a few tears running down his cheek as well.
Well, this was an interesting chapter!
Can't wait to write more!
So Crymini kinda sounds like Gwen from Total Drama, I've decided with the help of General TigerDragon. Thank you my friend, for all your help!
Yes, I did genderbend Angel Dust. I am sorry if that annoys any of you.
Also, my character is acting the way he is because of how he's seen Hell portrayed on Earth. He's never even considered that it could be like Earth at any point in his life, nor that demons can be kind. Please take that into consideration.
I won't be posting any more of this story until I see the first season of Hazbin Hotel and get a better idea of what to do with the plot.
Now, on to Alpha and Omega!
