(Part 3)

#

Junior yawned mightily, as the Iliad Railway train finally

pulls up to the Silver Lakes Rail Station platform. Aye.

As Ohms and Johnny disembark, they see the gray sky.

"Seems a storm is approaching... This area sees a fair

amount of rain and thunderstorms, I have read..."

Junior's words echo in Shure-Locks ears and mind.

"Yes, Johnny... You are correct. A storm is coming!"

#

After getting a local map from the rail station master,

they head off to a local Breakfast & Boarding hotel.

They soon check in. Then, after a hearty meal they

go over the map in hand... And soon enough Ohms

spots a set of two buildings out towards the Moors.

On the map it just is labelled 'Moor House Manor'.

The lady of the boarding house is consulted by Ohms.

"My good lady... Do you know if this 'Moor House' is

still taking lodgers out to visit the Lakes and Moors?"

The woman is older, and her face takes on an odd 'look'.

"Well, Governor... If I can recall, it was in business till

about ten or twelve years ago... Then it changed hands

and fell into disrepair by the new owner. Some folks say

only a ghost would be caught dead out there. That eerie,

strange occurring's happen there, now and then. They do!"

Seems she added the 'They do' when Ohms looks blank.

"Thank-You! my good woman... Thanks very much!"

Ohms gave her an extra tip of 5 shillings on the table.

#

The next morning, after a nice English Breakfast, Ohms

and Junior get a motor taxi to take them out to the road

that leads up to 'Moor House'. The walk is not too bad,

as the road is not muddy, the rainfall last night being

light and of short duration. They made the place in

half an hour, a brisk walk being a boon to health...

"Next time, maybe we rent some bicycles, Tommy?"

Johnny spoke as they reached the outer perimeter.

"Not a bad idea, my young friend. But exercise is

good for the mind as well as for the body... Aye!"

was the reply from Shure-Lock, no worries here.

"My god... Place is like that woman said... Looks

like a good location for a mystery. Or a murder?"

The look from Johnny agrees with Ohms words here.

#

The main building front door was not locked.

"We must be extra cautious, Johnny. He surely

has been expecting us for days. I would if I were

him. Just hope we are in time, for whatever the

blackguard has been up to... With my Fair Lady."

Junior gave his kindly mentor a determined look.

They each had one of Ohms electrical stun-gun

pistols inside their overcoat pockets. And more.

Tommy also had one of his small portable units

to detect high/low unusual frequencies, if about.

#

Just inside the main entryway... A small table with

a glass vase. In the vase were nearly a dozen fresh

white roses... The white rose was a favorite of the

Lady owner of Murgatroyd's Bar. A not-so-subtle

clue. One that now gives Ohms a cold feeling. Aye!

Soon enough and close by, Shure-Lock notices the

slightest scent of his one and only Love's perfume.

Now a deep and colder shiver permeates him now.

"This is one Time Johnny that I sorely wished that

I was dead wrong. He surely brought my Lady here.

And she likely did not come here willingly. I hope not.

This new game is turning more sinister each moment.

We best be on our toes, every mind-sense at full pitch!"

The look in Junior's eyes is all the reply that was needed.
