Summary (rewritten Feb/2/2019):
When Stiles' father died, he didn't think he'd every be happy again. For a while he thinks life has proved him wrong. He's adopted by an awesome (if a bit weird) family; He meets a handsome fellow orphan named Derek; he befriends his long time crush; and his best friend meets the girl of his dreams and makes first line. But then weird things start to happen around him. The least of them being his best friend getting bitten by a werewolf. As his new guardians, Dean and Cas, do their best at settling down as first time parents, he does his best dealing with his life seeming to spiral out of control.

This was Originally inspired by an awesome youtube video title "Teen Wolf x Supernatural Crossover - Destiel adopts Stiles and Sterek Happens" made by the wonderful moonlil. That video has no affiliation with me or this fic, nor does moonlil. We've never even spoken. But I do wish her the best in life for inspiring me to make this. (It was down for a while, but it's back up! If it's ever down in the future let me know. I downloaded it this time, just in case!)

Today was the day.

They were going to meet their son today.

Any minute now.

Though not quite any minute. Like 10-15 minutes. Thus Dean had stopped unpacking to tidy up and get ready, and now that he was done with that, had nothing to do that he could think of other than just killing time in their new home until the boys showed up with the last of the kid's stuff. They had managed to move in the furniture that he wanted to bring and his friend's mom, Melissa, was sweet enough to send over in a moving truck a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately they hadn't gotten to talk to their soon to be son in person on that trip. Fate had just kept fucking them over on timing every trip they'd made into town. They'd even tried planning to meet up, repeatedly, but each time one or both of them would have to cancel, or there'd be some miscommunication. It had started getting to the point Dean thought it was suspicious, but before they could be bothered to worry about it, here they were, the final moving day, after months of getting ready and it was really happening. Their son was on his way. They were finally gonna get to meet him. The closest they'd come until now was pulling up the driveway just as he was pulling out to get somewhere. They had waved and exchanged shouted heys, but had barely even gotten a good look at each other. Dean remembered thinking how different he'd looked to the picture in his file. The picture was of a plucky buzzcutted kid's school photo with a smartass smirk, his cheeks soft and round and bright. The boy he'd caught a glimpse of in the old blue jeep though seemed stressed, with hair grown out a bit messily, and a slight gauntness and lack of the baby fat from the picture, suggesting the kid probably wasn't taking great care of himself for probably at least the last month, if not longer, and that had been weeks- almost a month ago now. Cas had voiced Dean's own hope, that hopefully the kid would look a bit better off this time. They'd both spoken with him, of course, but the kid was pretty understandably guarded. Maybe Cas had had better luck with opening up. It's not like Dean was ever a pro with that, and Cas had been focusing more on getting to know the kid and people of interest. Dean had accidentally buried himself in busy work and getting shit done, big or small, to offset his nerves. He hadn't noticed it until Cas had pointed out his fidgeting on their drive over. He was doing his best to actually manage his anxiousness, but he couldn't lie that his shitty coping mechanisms were being pretty helpful for once. He'd managed to get all the boxes they'd brought on this trip in the house, unpack essentials, gone shopping for groceries and toiletries, and set up a bunch of… accent furniture and appliances he guessed? Including his little music nook while Cas focused on his interview at the school. (For what position they didn't know. The school was pretty vague when they'd called Cas to propose the offer.)

He was actually proud of all he'd managed to get done today. He was in part setting up his music stuff as a bit of a treat, though also because it needed the most work, and was the first room of the house. But yes, it was mostly so he could reward himself with listening to a bit of music. He was a bit thankful to find the old boombox stereo they'd found and been fucking with for a few weeks. Most of their cassettes and records were packed separately to their players. But they packed most of their CDs with the stereo, honestly not having listened to them for years before they found this thing. And it was a lot easier to set up than his record player or cassette stereo. He wouldn't pass up the opportunity to have something to listen to while he dealt with them. He wasn't too surprised to find an unmarked CD in the player. They'd been playing with the thing for weeks, Cas and Sam more than him, and they had a shit load of bootleg CDs from when he and Sammy were young and illegally burning music at the library. Dean curiously hit play, wondering which one it was, only to have his eardrums be assaulted by utter crapwaves at high volume.

"Oh, Mickey! You're so fine, You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mick-" Dean popped the player lid open, shocked and embarrassed by the CD he hadn't jammed to since he was probably a teenager, even though no one was in the house.

"Cas!" Dean shouted, somewhat scolding, but with a hint of amusement. He felt a presence behind him, but still jumped a bit at Cas' arms wrapping around him from behind.

"Play that one about the promiscuous young woman with the dance named after her." Cas sounded rather cheerful, muttering into his ear. Although Dean was personally a bit worn out, it gave him a bit of pep to hear the sound of a smile on Cas' lips, reminding him what a day for celebration and joy it was, despite his nervous anticipation. Dean turned his head to kiss Cas' cheek with a smirk, choking back a laugh at knowing what Cas was even on about.

"Only if you'll do the dance." Dean bargained jokingly. Cas sighed. Cas didn't see the harm per say in doing the dance. He probably would have done it anyway, he loved that funky little dance ever since Charlie had taught it to him. But whenever Dean spoke like that and he did the action in question, they'd usually end up in bed, and they didn't have near enough time for any such nonsense.

"Dean, the child is gonna be here shortly." He reminded, settling to be the responsible one. Dean removed the CD from the stereo, and went over to the box the stereo had been in to find the case.

"Cas, the kid is 16. Not much of a child anymore. And you should take off the trench coat. How did the interview go?" Dean asked, looking back over his shoulder at Cas. Cas tilted his head, in a 'well technically' argumentative sort of way.

"The paperwork they sent states differently. As does my heart." Cas said in a sassy, 'first of all' sort of way. Dean rolled his eyes with a faint smile, knowing he was in for a minor lecture, despite Cas pausing to let him make a counterpoint.

"I know legally he's a minor, yes. And of course he's our child. But culturally, calling teenagers children is disrespectful. Next?"

"It's technically an overcoat, not a trench coat." Cas said, half way between serious and jokingly nitpicking at this point.

"Noted. Next?" Dean sighed but laughed anyway finding his angel too cute to not be amused.

"The interview… went well? I think I have secured the position..." Cas said, rubbing the back of his neck. "It wasn't much of an interview as much as just a meeting and a tour around the school, so I'm assuming they already decided on hiring me. They said I'll start teaching next Monday. They wanted to give us time to settle in."

"In what…?"

"... Into our home, Dean?" Cas answered confused as to what Dean meant. Dean rolled his eyes.

"No, Cas, I mean what are you going to be teaching in?"

"Oh! I believe I will be teaching a class called Artistic Expression… They gave me a few sheets of paper explaining it. Apparently they tried to send them to our 'current address', I told them it must've gotten lost in the mail." Cas informed, sounding a bit proud of himself. Dean tilted his head, a bit too distracted to pat Cas on the back for his lying.

"Your vessel had an art education degree…? Didn't he sell ad space?"

"Apparently so. I thought it would be confusing for me to ask them my qualifications." Cas said a bit snarkily, though not seeming annoyed. Dean shrugged.

"Jimmy's a strange man…" He shook his head, finally finding the case and setting the CD on top of the stereo.

"I suppose that would be a reasonable accusation." Cas agreed with a laugh. Dean turned to look over the living room. He ignored how picture perfect it looked, how shocked he was they were doing all this -really actually managing to start having a life- and tried to think of anything he should get ready for when the boys finally showed up.

"Shit." Dean muttered to himself as he realized he hadn't gotten anything to drink while at the store, other than beer and milk. And offering a teenager hot coffee in the summer seemed questionable at best. "Forgot to get something to drink at the store… Unless we're planning on offering the kid a beer, I think I should go mix up a batch of Koolaid or something real quick." Cas opened his mouth to say something, face a bit twisted in confusion, but after a moment gave a soft chuckle as Dean walked into the kitchen.

"That's meant to be a joke, regarding that he's not yet of legal drinking age!" Cas called to Dean. Dean hoped he was thoroughly proud of himself for figuring it out all on his own.

"Nothing gets by you these days, huh, Cas?" Dean laughed. Cas smiled, shaking his head at his husband's hint of sarcasm.

(Spoily stuff is in its own folder. The .sh3d files are house plans of settings that I wanted a better idea for. They can be opened with "Sweet Home 3D" at / without any additional libraries downloaded, if you use the program and download the .sh3d you should see everything I put in the plans. They even have an online AND mobile version I believe. The .PXZ file is the map of Beacon Hills shown in the PNG map, and to open that and explore the town in more detail, you can go to /editor/ I am not sponsored (by either of these programs actually), it's just a good free program I tend to use and as far as I know, the only way to open a .PXZ file. I can't guarantee I won't change anything in the future,, but for now I think what I have posted there is done, nothing posted should need to be changed any time soon! If I upload more there, I'll try to mention it in the next chapter I upload!

(If the links don't post bc FFN doesn't allow links idk if they changed that, please head over to the Ao3 page for the fic and you'll find the links there!)
