Prologue - Introduction and a Wonderous Legend

Somewhere in the multiverse, we go to a world unlike any other, a world that looked almost as if it came out of someone's fantasy. Vast greenery, forests, mountains, river streams, lakes, floating rocks and islands and even a huge tree about the size of a skyscraper. What stood out as peculiar was that everywhere you looked, there were bubbles of different sizes floating everywhere and you never know where they came from and also if you looked up high in the sky, you'd see dragons flying up high but what was even more peculiar was that you'd even see whales swimming in the sky along with a few WW1 era fighter planes and also airships and by airships, I mean boats with blimps attached to them and finally what stood out the most among all the things in this world was a massive medieval sword about the size of a mountain standing tall and proud in all its' majesty. This wonderous world… is simply known… as Wonder World.

(Insert Kamen Rider Saber OST - Bonne Lecture!)

We now go to one of the floating islands of wonder world where a humble looking cozy cottage stood. As the scene zooms into the cottage, the door opens and we zoom inside where we're met with a humble looking abode which is a cozy looking room complete with a fireplace a few book shelves and a couple of plants here and there, a small chandelier, a clock above the fireplace and a floor mat, a small table with some books and a cozy looking chair.

Seated comfortably on said chair was the most peculiar looking individual you'd ever seen. This individual had shoulder length green hair styled in ringlets, fair skin, a funny looking mustache and green eyes. He was clad in an outfit that was described as peculiar in an enigmatic sense. It was composed of a pink button up shirt with a silver bowtie under a vest that's of a lighter shade of pink, matching colored pants that reaches halfway through his thighs with silver cloth accessories dangling on the end of the pants, a white belt, a purple jacket with green and reddish intricate design patterns, silver epaulettes and similar silver accessories as those on his pants located at the bottom of his jacket, white gloves, orange socks with dark greenish bat-like shapes on them, pink shoes, a two sunflowers on his jacket's left pectoral area, what looked like a small branch located on the back of his left shoulder with a bird's nest on it where a red bird rested, a pair of gold circular framed glasses and a small pink top hat worn on his head. Now some would say that his outfit almost felt… wrong… but it managed to work altogether somehow. This peculiar looking fellow was… well… how about we let him introduce himself.

The fellow smiled upon seeing the readers as if he was expecting them "Min'na-san~… Bonne Lecture~!" he greeted the readers with a still-cheerful tone "Boku wa Tassel" he introduced himself "And I shall be one of your guides to this story" he said "But I'm not the only one narrating this story today" he added.

Then, a knock on the door was heard getting his attention as he let out a gasp "Ah! It seems our other guides are here!" he said as he stood up from his chair, went over and answered the door revealing none other than Chron one of the celestial chroniclers of the celestial council.

He was wearing his usual pair of black rectangular framed glasses and silver wrist watch on his left wrist but now he's clad in a new outfit composed of a light blue button up shirt with a dark gray necktie under a black button up vest, matching trousers with a belt, a pair of black socks, dark brown bespoke shoes, a black fingerless glove worn on his left hand concealing his glowing tattoo and finally a navy blue overcoat.

"Good day everyone!" greeted Chron to the readers with a smile before turning to Tassel "And a good day to you too as well!" he greeted him.

"Ah, Chron-san my friend! It is so good to see you as well, you are just in time!" said Tassel before taking notice of someone missing "Wait, where's Nicle-san?" he asked looking around for Chron's partner.

"Ah, apologies Tassel, I'm afraid Nicle won't be joining us for this story, he's out somewhere doing his own thing" said Chron "You know him… always wanting to roam around by himself and all" he said.

"Ah, I see" nodded Tassel in understanding "But anyway, please come in and sit!" he said cheerfully, guiding the celestial chronicler into the cottage who then took a seat on a second chair opposite to Tassel's that appeared out of nowhere.

"Now then my friends…" said Tassel getting comfortable in his seat "This may sound a bit of a sudden, but… books are quite the novel thing, aren't they?" he asked with a smile making Chron chuckle.

"Why of course, anything can be found in books such as knowledge and experiences both known and unknown" said Chron "Take this world for example" he said.

"Indeed" nodded Tassel in agreement with a smile as he and Chron looked out the window of the world outside the cottage as the scene zoomed into the view of wonder world before a narration began.

"Once upon a time, this world where we're currently in was created by book of immense power…" narrated Tassel as the view panned around wonder world and the things seen in it.

"That very book was the source of all myths, stories, living creatures, scientific techniques, technology and more…" he said as it then showed a silhouette of a certain book.

"Indeed… that book just had about everything in one package" agreed Chron before the scene changed into the view of the giant sword but it was looking dark.

"Swordsmen, chosen by the holy blades known as the Seiken, were tasked with keeping the peace by protecting that book" narrated Tassel as it showed several silhouette figures wielding swords standing in a rock formation in front of the view of the giant sword as lightning illuminated the darkness.

Amongst those swordsmen, in their hands were swords that glowed individual colors composed of red, blue, yellow, gray, green, pink, purple, gold, burgundy and cyan.

"But then one day, some bad people appeared and wanted to snatch the book away for their wicked endeavors!" said Tassel as it then showed a view of the book flipping its' pages before a pair of red sinister looking eyes leered its' eyes on the book reaching its' clawed hands to it.

"Those people who wanted to get their hands on the book… were an organization known as the Megido, monsters of the scriptures" said Chron as it then showed silhouettes of said monsters causing destruction in wonder world and among these monsters were three that looked more powerful than the rest as they glowed a green, blue and red sinister aura respectively.

"And thus the book was split and shattered…" narrated Tassel in dismay as it then showed the book dispersed into several pages and became smaller metallic books known as Wonder Ride Books.

"The Megido attempted to hunt down the shattered fragments known as wonder ride books in order to reassemble the all powerful book to fulfil their wicked schemes, but thankfully they were stopped by the same swordsmen who swore to protect the book" narrated Chron as it showed a scene of the Megido fighting against the swordsmen with their glowing colored blades.

"These swordsmen were part of an organization known as the Sword of Logos, they're known to protect wonder world, defend the innocent from the Megido and are tasked with collecting the wonder ride books and protect them from those who'd misuse it for evil" narrated Tassel as it then showed an insignia of said organization; the insignia was of a couple of swords in a cross formation with an open book above it and what looked like writing of a strange language all within a ring.

"The Swords of Logos fought and vanquished the Megido, restoring peace to the world" narrated Chron as it showed one of the swordsman striking the ground releasing a shockwave before changing into a scene where the swords of logos stood proud raising up their swords in victory with their insignia shown behind all of them "They continued on to defend humanity from other threats for countless generations… until one day… they vanished…" said Chron as it showed the silhouettes of the swordsmen along with the Sword of Logos insignia vanishing in a ripple effect.

"All that remained were their seikens that were soon stored in a safe place" narrated Tassel as it then showed the swordsmen's seikens being placed on pedestals that also act as somewhat akin to sheaths making them look like a so-so sword of the stone. "And to this day, they wait patiently… for the day when new wielders worthy enough to take their predecessor's mantles would come and carry on their legacy…" he finished as the scene panned out showing the seikens in the room before the whole scene turned black.

"Y'know Tassel, there happens to be another legend related to another kind of book, one that not everyone in the multiverse knows" said Chron.

"Ah! Yes! Yes! I nearly forgot, this is supposedly the main topic of our story!" said Tassel before clearing his throat "Now I'm sure Chron-san mentioned… books contain knowledge, both known and unknown, especially the latter" he said "Unknown knowledge can be both good and bad" said Tassel "For some can be methods or techniques that have been lost to time but can possibly be used for the betterment of people while others can be considered forbidden because some unknown knowledge could be things that humanity must not be tempted to do" he said.

"One such unknown knowledge is the art of resurrection, being able to bring back the dead and there are plenty of methods to do that" said Chron "But most of them involve killing or hurting others in order to achieve resurrection which is why it's considered forbidden…" he explained.

"But there's one such item that has the power to resurrect the dead without the need to sacrifice or kill anything…" said Tassel as the silhouette of a certain book appeared "That item is none other than the Magnus Liber Mortuorum…" he said as said book revealed itself.

"The Magnus Liber Mortuorum… was the Apex of all Necronomicons..." narrated Chron as the scene changed into a sequence of drawn pictures styled as if it were drawn on a mural and the first picture shown was the book in the hands of a robed figure"For it could revive the dead in an instant…" narrated Chron as the robed figure opened the book in his hands and raised up his hand forward towards a body of the dead as a magic circle appeared below the body and just like that, the person stood back up looking at themselves in shock from coming back to life.

"There were no limits… no drawbacks… no consequences… the possibilities were endless" narrated Chron as it showed the hooded figure using the book to revive more bodies bringing their spirits back from the dead.

"The book had the power to revive just about anyone from your most treasured friends… to your most hated of enemies… which was why so many wanted to get their hands on it… and most of them were those with bad intentions…" narrated Tassel as it then showed a scene of the book floating up high in the sky with so many silhouettes of people reaching out for the book and some of them had wicked smiles in their faces.

"And so it was, that many have fought against one another over ownership of the book, many lives were lost during the bloodshed and it continued on for a time…" narrated Tassel as it then showed a mass of people on a huge battlefield fighting each other as dead bodies fell left and right.

"Until one day… the Celestial Gods descended from the heavens and took away the Magnus Liber Mortuorum, ending the fighting in the process" narrated Chron as the battlefield panned upwards to the clouded sky where a light shined before none other than the celestial council descended down causing all the fighters to stop. It then changed to the Magnus Liber Mortuorum falling into the hands of the council members.

"The celestial gods gave a warning to the people to never again seek the power of the book or even seek the knowledge of resurrection, for it disrupts the balance between life and death and could bring dire consequences" narrated Tassel as it showed the leader of the celestial council holding out his hand to the people below in warning to never seek out the power or knowledge of bringing back the dead.

"And so it was that the book was sealed away in one of the celestial gods' temple fortresses where it was kept safe and hidden from the world outside and it was kept that way for a long time…" narrated Chron as it showed the Magnus Liber Mortuourum in its' closed state being placed on a pedestal before the scene panned out to a certain room before panning outside the room where a door closed and was sealed tight ensuring that nobody gets inside for the book.

"Although it didn't last long…" trailed off Chron as the scene suddenly cracked before it burst into a pile of rocks revealing a new scene.

"For an evil organization called Valhalla appeared and stormed the temple fortress! Defeating all the guards and making their way to the Magnus Liber Mortuorum, intending to raise an army of the resurrected to take control of the multiverse and ruling with an iron fist!" narrated Tassel in an alarmed tone as the new scene showed Valhalla's ships arriving at the temple fortress sending their troops to attack before changing to a scene of the temple fortress' guards fighting against the Valhallan soldiers and then changing to a scene of the book being picked up from its' pedestal by a Valhallan officer with a gasmask as the lens of his mask glimmered with malicious intent.

"Luckily… they were stopped…" said Chron as it then showed an unseen assailant attack the officer releasing his grip from the book as it was seen sent flying into the air.

"Before Valhalla could even use its' power, one of the guardians split the book into several copies and cast them aside, scattering them throughout the multiverse!" narrated Tassel as it showed the unknown assailant now revealed to be a certain celestial priest strike his magic enhanced sword at the book dividing it into many copies before casting a spell creating several portals that would lead to places unknown.

"All but one…" quipped Chron as one of the books was grabbed by the enemy before the rest disappeared into the portals.

"Although one fragment had the power to revive the deceased, without its' full-power, Valhalla was unable to reach their goal of fully conquering the multiverse…" narrated Tassel as it changed to a scene of the book held in the Valhalla officer's hands and presented it to the leaders before changing to one of the leaders holding the book.

"And, so the organization set off to find the remaining fragments scattered around the multiverse as they scoured the dimensions in search of their objective while subjugating the inhabitants of every world they come across…" narrated Chron as it showed the leaders of Valhalla pointing forward before panning to the right, showing Valhallan ships sailing across the cosmos. It then showed ships arriving at other worlds firing their cannons planetside as it changed to a scene the inhabitants of the worlds running for their lives before changing to the inhabitants being subjugated by the troops who were ordering them to move while some soldiers hit those who resisted with their weapons.

"But before long, the celestial gods caught wind of Valhalla's malevolent plot and dispatched their celestial champions to fight against the evil organization and free the conquered worlds and put an end to their plot…" narrated Tassel as the scene changed to several silhouetted figures jumping into action while at the background were the celestial council pointing towards different directions.

"But while the celestial champions were dealing with Valhalla's conquest, the military organization continues to search for the book fragments, luckily the celestial gods already thought a plan in mind as they assigned the gods of adventure, four members of the council to form a new group of champions to venture to the others worlds and search for the book fragments while assisting in quelling Valhalla's conquest once and for all" narrated Chron as the scene changed to the four gods of adventure raising up their weapons in unity and determination.

We now return to Tassel's home where he and Chron sat.

"Which brings us to the present…" said Tassel smiling knowingly at the readers.

"Indeed" nodded Chron in agreement also smiling before turning to the readers "Now then my friends, prepare yourselves for a story of a lifetime, one full of adventure, action, friendship and wonder…" he said "Of course there'll be some hardships along the way and a little bit of laughs and mischief and perhaps a little romance as well…" he said holding his chin in thought.

The celestial chronicler then cleared his throat "Anyway, without further ado… let the story…" he trailed off.

"BEGIN!" exclaimed Tassel and Chron in unison pointing their hands forward with the latter snapping his finger as everything turned white.
