I suddenly had this idea for and Si-Oc pokemon fanfiction and on a whim decided to write his chapter in 5 hours. Anyways I hope you enjoy the chapter and please leave a review I enjoy reading the feeback on the story.

The first thing that Adam realized was wrong when he woke up was that his bed was as hard as rock, but he brushed it off thinking maybe he woke up with a stiff back and his bed just felt worse than normal.

The second thing that alerted Adam that something was wrong was how frigidly cold it was. However, he thought that maybe it was just extra cold that morning since that had happened to him a couple of times before in the past.

The last and most important thing to tell Adam that he was not in his broken bed at home was when he opened his eyes and the light shone in through the cave's entrance and the view of a couple of… Zubat on the ceiling?

"What the hell!" yelled Adam in a clear panic. The Zubats did not appreciate the loud noise and started flapping their wings aggressively and flying away further into the cave. Though, they let their displeasure be known and screeched at Adam as they flew away.

Adam, not wanting to risk being attacked by the purple menaces, quickly grabbed the bag lying next to him and booked it for the exit of the cave and into the forest.

A couple minutes later of sprinting Adam was sure that there were no zubat in the area and stopped to catch his breath. He then took a look at his surroundings. It was an ordinary forest that looked like it had gotten snowed on recently. He finally started to fully take in his situation.

"Holy crap, I just got isekaid into the world of pokemon!" Adam thought excitedly with a silly little grin on his face and jumping a little with the pure excitement running through his veins. This was stopped however by his foot suddenly slipping underneath him and falling on his butt.

Adam let out a couple curses rubbing his bottom that was now a little sore from the fall and picked himself up.

"First things first." Adam said to himself. "Figure out where the hell I am and what is in my bag

Adam slung the backpack open that he had grabbed on his way out and started looking for a map. The second he opened the pack up he realized that this thing was way bigger on the inside than he had originally thought. The first thing sitting on top was a wallet.

Adam grabbed it and opened to see what was inside. There were some dollar bill looking things that could be likely deduced to be pokedollars there seemed to be some money, but not much. The more important thing was a card, more specifically Adam's trainer id. From it he found out his name in this world was Adam Frost and he was 18 years old. Not his last name, but at least he had the same first name and age. It also came with a picture of what he looked like in this world.

Earlier, He realized as he was running that it was not his body mainly due to the fact that this body was a lot more fit than his previous one. Not to say he was fat in his previous body, but he wasn't fit. His face looked similar to the one he previously had, but there was one main difference. He still had his dirty blonde hair from his past face, but now he has light green eyes compared to pale blue ones he used to have. It wasn't a big deal, but still made a difference.

Adam then put the wallet away and started looking at the rest of his backpack. He found what looked like a two person tent, two big containers, and the scariest and most exciting of all were 3 pokeballs. There was sadly no technology like a pokedex, pokewatch, or extransceiver. There was also no map in his bag.

Despite there being no map or technology Adam could use he was thrilled about the 3 pokeballs. He now had the chance to fulfill any pokemon fan's dreams and be a pokemon trainer. The scary part was the thought that there might be pokemon already in it. If there was, he was gonna have to explain to the pokemon what happened to their trainer or why he didn't act like their normal trainer.

Adam then shakily reached for the first pokeball with nervous excitement and tapped the button. The ball opened with a click. Nothing. Pokeball 2. Nothing. Pokeball 3. Also unsurprisingly nothing.

Adam released a sigh he had been holding. He was relieved yet also disappointed that there was nothing in the pokeballs. Relieved since he didn't have to explain anything to pokemon previous Adam might have owned. Disappointed since he doesn't have any of his own pokemon.

The horrifying thought suddenly struck Adam, sending shivers up his spine. "I am stuck in the middle of the woods with magical creatures that could kill or freeze me to death with little effort, and I have nothing to protect myself. No pokemon and no weapons. I am so screwed."

He then remembered the containers that were in his bag and went to open them. The first was full of cooking supplies and other things that would be needed for camping. There were also some purple spray bottles that Adam guessed were potions. They were rather useless considering that he didn't even have his own pokemon. At least he didn't have one yet. "Hopefully that will soon change in the near future."

The second box was full of a bunch of food items. Mainly tasteless MREs that could be easily prepared and keep a person fed, but don't taste good. Second were some blue round berries that looked like they were probably Oran berries.

"I wonder what they taste like." Adam thought aloud. He grabbed one and he opened his mouth to take a bite, but accidently threw it into the air as a sound suddenly came from behind him.

"Vanillite '' a dainty voiced vanilite spoke from behind.

"Jesus, don't scare me like that." Adam said while clutching his chest to calm his nerves from being jump scared by the living ice cream cone. He was still a little tense since this was a pokemon and he didn't have one, but the vannilite didn't seem to have bad intentions.

"Vanil.." it said while holding its hands together with a pouty looking face.

"It looks like it feels a bit bad for scaring me." Adam thought. "It's okay I just wasn't prepared for you to show up and speak like that."

The Vanillite smiled at that and did a little spin. It then stopped and looked at Adam again.

"Sorry for making you feel bad, but was there something you wanted?"

Vanilite then pointed at the ground where the Oran berry had fallen when Adam had dropped it earlier. Adam quickly put the pieces together.

"You want the berry?" The vanilite nodded. "Here you can have it." Adam said while grabbing the berry from the ground and handing it to the vanilites small hands. The vanilite did a little cheer and ate the berry. Once it was finished it gave Adam a little cheer in thanks.

"Vanil"

"No problem." Adam answered.

The vanilite started to float away? Adam wasn't fully sure, but regardless he spoke.

"Vanilite could you help me?" Adam asked. Vanilite stopped for a second and looked back towards Adam with a questioning glance. " I am lost and I currently don't know where I am. Do you know where I could find other people?" Vanillite nodded at that." Could you lead me to them?"

Vanilite seemed to ponder this for a second sticking one of their arms to its chin in thought. "Time to sweeten the pot a bit." Adam thought. " I could offer you more berries to eat. Would that make you help me?" The offer of berries seemed to convince the vanillite and it agreed.

"Vanillite" it said nodding in agreement.

"Great, lead the way." Adam said. He was relieved since it seemed he would be able to find human civilization soon. He also had the added benefit that he now had pokemon to finally protect him or he at least hoped Vanillite would protect him. Maybe it wouldn't, but Adam prayed that it wouldn't.

(A few hours later)

"I'm thankful that I got isekai'd and had supplies prepared for me, but why on earth did I have to end up in a snowy forest." Currently Adam was not having a fun time walking through the woods. It was cold and his cheeks were rosy red and his nose seemed to be sniffing every other minute from the cold.

"All those other characters in anime and fanfictions ended up in cities or warm forests, but not me with my crap luck." Adam angrily muttered to himself. Vanillite looked back from where it was leading to give him a concerned look.

"I'm fine, just a bit frustrated is all." Vanillite gave a cry and seemed satisfied with that answer and started looking forward again. The walk so far hadn't been too eventful. There would be the occasional cry from far away that would seriously spook Adam, but since Vanillite didn't seem to be scared by the sound Adam assumed it was at least somewhat safe out. Adam occasionally saw other pokemon occasionally. Most of them were bird pokemon flying in the sky like Swablu and Pidgey, but they weren't too common.

Adam in his excitement to rereach civilization hadn't fully considered the possibility that civilization might be rather far away. His feet were starting to ache after an hour of walking with the backpack on. It wasn't necessarily heavy and he was glad that it wasn't as heavy as it could have been considering everything that was in it. Still all things considered after wearing it for a while it started to weigh on him a bit, but there was no choice other than to keep on moving.

"Hey Vanillite, I have to ask you something?"

"Vanill?" It questioned turning around while still floating forward.

"How did it do that?" Adam thought then shook his head a bit to get rid of the thought. "I never asked, but how far are the people?"

Vanillite seemed to think for second before answering,"Vanillite"

"I… have no idea what that meant. How about I just guess the time it takes to get there and you point up or down to indicate longer or shorter?" Adam suggested. Vanilite nodded

"One day." pointed up

"Two days." pointed up

"Three days." Vanillite pointed up to Adam's increasing horror.

"F..four days." pointed down to Adam's relief. "Three and a half." Vanillite nodded.

This left Adam relieved knowing that he wouldn't have to go more than four days in the snowy wilderness. Still he was rather disappointed that it wasn't a shorter distance to travel. He could already feel his aching legs knowing that they would be weeping with agony in the future.

"Also on an unrelated note what gender are you?"

"Vanil". It replied with a somewhat offended tone while crossing its arms. It then pointed at Adam with its stubby arm and then at itself.

"So you are a boy." Vanillite nodded. "Okay, I just wanted to."

Another couple hours seemed to pass by before it was decided to stop for lunch. Adam started cooking some bland MREs and got some Oran berries for Vanillite to eat.

"So Vanillite, do you have any goals for the future?" Adam asked, trying to strike up a conversation. Vanillite gave Adam a question that looked like he didn't know what Adam was asking.

"Like any plans, do you want to grow strong in the future or maybe you just want to evolve at some point?" Adam annuciated. Vanillite thought for a second and then started to fake flex his arms in a show of strength.

Adam chuckled a bit at Vanillite attempting to be macho with his stubby arms. He was failing miserably because he was a bit too cute to be taken seriously.

"So you just want to get stronger. Maybe I could….nevermind."

"Vanillite?" it asked stopping their flexing and tipping its head to the side in question.

"It's nothing, forget I even asked."

"Vanill" it said clearly not happy with the answer, but accepting that Adam wouldn't say anymore.

(5 hours later)

Adam and Vanillite had just finished supper and Adam was cleaning up some of his food and pans he had used to cook it. The sun was starting to set and Adam's feet were tired and his legs were hurting.

"I think now would probably be a good place to stop for the night." Adam suggested. Vanillite nodded and Adam started to get his tent out.

"Vanillite!" Adam looked over and realized that Vanillite seemed to be extremely on edge.

"What's wrong?" Adam asked with a bit of fear. For the first time it seemed that Adam might be in actual danger and all he had was Vanillite to really protect him. Vanillite cried and pointed towards a direction to the right of Adam.

"Sneasel!" a Sneasel with an annoyed voice said to Adam's right. It looked to be angry and was pointing at where Adam was sitting. Adam got the memo rather quickly.

"Sorry we didn't know that this was where your home was, we will leave and move on." Adam pleaded, trying to avoid a fight.

Either the Sneasel didn't understand or it did and just decided it didn't care and wanted to pick a fight. The Sneasel leapt at Adam clearly trying to attack him before it was blasted in the side with some freezing wind that had sent it flying into a tree nearby, breaking it. Looking to his left Adam realized that it had come from Vanillite who floated there in defiance.

"Vannilite!" it cried in objection looking prepared for a fight. Sneasel got up from where it was knocked into the tree and suddenly zoomed a lot quicker than it had at Adam towards Vanillite.

It then scratched at Vanillite's face earning a cry from the pokemon before Sneasel was hit with another wind full of ice, that Adam assumed was icy wind, knocking the sneasel back again towards a tree. Sneasel was prepared this time and instead of crashing and breaking the wood it landed on the trunk with its feet and leapt back at Vanillite.

Vanillite being unprepared got hit by a clew with a shiny exterior and it seemed to knock some chunks of ice off of Vanillite.

As all of this is happening Adam is packing all of his things ready to book it before he looks back and sees Vanillite get hit.

Adam hated it and realised that even if he had only been around Vanillite for half a day now, he had already gotten attached to the little guy and realized he wanted him to be one of his pokemon. With a plan made in mind he then stepped up to them.

"Hey Sneasel!" Adam shouted. Sneasel looked back towards and as it did it got a face full of boot and got sent flying like a soccer ball into the tree it had crashed into earlier.

"Vanillite use icy wind to freeze the sneasel onto the tree to slow it down." Vanillite listened and suddenly a blast of cold wind started to freeze the sneasel into the ground before it could get up. Sneasel cried in objection, but couldn't do anything about it since it wasn't strong enough to break the ice… for now.

"Good job! Now let's go before it can get out." Adam said, slinging the backpack over his shoulder. "Which way Vanilite?"

Vanillite pointed in a direction and started dashing that way with Adam running behind him to the cries of the Sneasel getting quieter and quieter.

After about 30 minutes of running Vanillite stopped with Adam coming to a stop as well. Adam was huffing and puffing since they had been running for a while and he still had to lug his bag around.

"I think we're far enough now." Adam said between gasps of breath. He was hunched over with his hands on his knees in exhaustion trying to catch his breath. "You were really cool out their Vanillite saving me from the Sneasel."

"Vanillite…" It said clearly not believing what Adam had said.

"Are you disappointed that you weren't strong enough to beat Sneasel?" Vannilite nodded.

"Yeah I get that, but just because you didn't beat them today doesn't mean you won't be them in the future. It just means you have to get stronger. Strong enough that Sneasel won't seem all that strong at all." Vanillite seemed to get out of his little funk of losing to Sneasel

"Vanillite" it cried, pumping one of his little arms into the air with clear motivation to get stronger.

"Vanillite, you know how I asked you what your goals are?" Vanllite nodded. "Well I have some of my own as well. I plan to travel around the region and participate in this region's trainer league." Vanillite gave a confused look at this. "It's basically where trainers have their pokemon battle each other in a competition to become the strongest trainer in the entire region. In order to compete I would first need a pokemon to train." Adam explained while reaching for one of the pokeballs in his bag. Vanillite seemed to start getting the idea.

"I've grown rather fond of you and after that battle with Sneasel I have to ask." Adam said with a serious face. "Would you let me be your trainer?" Adam asked while holding out the pokeball. Vanillite seemed shocked for a second before it cheered in joy and leapt for the pokeball button. He was sucked into the pokeball before it shook once and clicked. Adam squealed a bit with childlike joy.

Adam has just caught his first pokemon: Vanillite.

So Adam officially catches his first pokemon. I was looking through a list of pokemon and Vanillite just caught my eye so he will be Adam's first pokemon, obviously. On a second note I was thinking of giving Vanillite a nickname so what should it be? Also again feedback is appreciated.
