I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Frozen. They both belong to Disney and Square Enix. Okay, this idea sort of popped into my head one day. It's not a long story. Probably will take up five to six chapters at most... but I hope you enjoy it... I guess in a way it's to celebrate the news for finally announcing a news update for the KH franchise. Hopefully, we get some updates of how KH4 is coming along as well. Anyway, please enjoy...
Loneliness...
Elsa had known this feeling for many years. The day she had to lock herself away from everyone she knew and loved. Because she still couldn't control the curse.
It nearly killed her sister, Anna, when they were small. She survived thanks to some kindly trolls but the eldest Princess felt guilty all the same.
The gloves her father gave her helped as well as the motto: "Conceal. Don't feel. Don't let it show."
However, as her powers grew, the harder they were to control. Not to mention, one day, she would be the Queen of Arendelle. Which meant she was entitled to many responsibilities... Two of which she feared the most...
Finding a King and producing her heir.
With her curse, she thought she would avoid such a responsibility. Her parents did too. Perhaps in another life, she avoided it altogether.
As it turns out, there was a young Prince from a distant land who was naturally immune to the effects of magic. Including Elsa's power over the ice and snow.
Surprising to be sure, but to many traditionalists in the King's council was a welcome surprise. Of course, arrangements were made, and meetings were set...
Honestly, they got along well enough. No one would say it was Anna's fantasized "true love," but it could been a worse suitor. It was a political marriage through and through. Could it eventually lead to real love... possibly...
It was short-lived though, shortly before her parents were lost at sea, her own husband passed away. Despite being immune to magic abilities, the poor man had a weak immune system.
However, something unexpected happened during a short-lived marriage... she was pregnant.
That day she found out the news on top of everything freaked her out to her core. How the heck was she going to raise a baby?! It required a lot of holding the baby when she lacked control over her powers. What if he or she took after her?
Her only hope was that the child would only inherit his father's ability to be immune to her curse... maybe not so much the health issues.
Anna, of course, was thrilled with the idea of being an Aunt. Not knowing the potential danger that the baby could be living a similar life as the mother.
9 months passed and it was time for the baby to be born. She had been preparing for this moment, but nothing could prepare her for the pain that came with childbirth. She actually had to turn to some of the trolls to help with giving birth, knowing she'd likely freeze the entire room.
After long of pain and suffering, the came a sound very foreign to her...
"WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
Taking breaths of relief, she heard the baby's cry, taking its first breath. The trolls and doctors, the latter was taken back by the former's existence, smiled as they wrapped the child in blankets. The head doctor smiled, "Congratulations, you're majesty... it's a boy."
As the baby settled down, the doctor handed the boy over to his mother. The Princess moved slightly away, fearing she would harm the child, but the doctor already placed the baby in her arms. She seemed completely stunned as the child did not seem both by the cold. Instead, he merely snuggled up to her.
Stunned at first, her baby opened his blue eyes to look into his mother's eyes for the first time. A faint chuckle could be heard from her lips, "Oh, why... hello there, little one..."
The baby cooed as she stroked her son's chin, giving a genuine smile as the ice all around her seemed to melt away. Fear took back for a moment, "Will... will he be like me? Will he have..."
The troll, Grandpaddie, smiled at her, "You have nothing to fear, Elsa. The boy only picked up his father's resistance to magic..."
"...and the boy appears to have better health than the father," The doctor added as he looked over her deceased husband's medical records and compared them to their son, "At least from what I've seen, we'll let you know if anything changes."
Elsa sighed in relief as she heard her baby yawn. Turning back to her child, she smiled softly, "That's good. He should have somewhat of a normal life with an actual childhood."
"...yes, well, there is one more thing," The Doctor stated earning her a confused look, "Does our Queen have a name ...for the young Prince?"
"Oh, right," Elsa froze as the baby's eyes began to close. Honestly, she had been so concerned for her baby's future, that something as simple as a name seemed to slip. She didn't even have any idea what to name him if he was a girl instead.
Perhaps, she could name him after his grandfather? No, Agnarr wasn't the greatest name and it certainly didn't suit her child. She then thought of her old husband and his father's name. When thinking about it, it was a pretty good name. She turned to her child, "His name is Sora..." Brushing what little brown hair he had on his head, "Prince Sora of Arendelle."
The child, Sora, merely slept in his mother's arms. Suddenly, one of the days she feared the most... because one of the best days of her life. For the first time in forever... she felt blessed...
Nearly a year passed, as the nine-month-old boy lay on the Queen's bed, with a stuffed bear by the side of him. He looked up at his mother, he had her hands covering her face, when suddenly she removed them with a big goofy grin on her face, "Peekaboo!"
Suddenly, the baby began to smile and started giggling. Covering her eyes again, the baby looked confused as if his mother vanished before she revealed her face again, "Peekaboo!"
His confusion turned into a humorous laugh. Elsa never felt such joy, even better, ever since Sora came to be, she had somehow better control over her own abilities. Maybe it had something to do with being a parent now?
Whatever the reason, she was grateful. It also meant she could let someone else back in her life.
Knocks on her door could be heard, she smiled and said something she never thought she'd say, "Come in."
Just then, her little sister opened the door, her hands full of stuffed animals and toys, "So, how is my absolute favorite nephew today?"
"Oh, you know," Elsa smiled as she gestured to the laughing baby, "The usual." She cleared her throat, "You don't have to keep spoiling him you know."
"I can't help it!" Anna beamed as she placed the toys down and tickled his little feet, "As his Auntie and Godmother, it's in my job description to spoil this little cutie!"
The baby squealed in joy as he pulled his foot away. Elsa smiled as she asked her sister in concern, "And you are sure you're okay with watching him for the day?"
"Of course," Anna smiled as she took the baby off the bed and held him in her arms, "Why wouldn't I be?" She then held him out to his mother, "I mean, just wook at his adworable face!"
The happy baby merely stuck out his tongue, as Elsa laughed in amusement, "I swear, you're trying to give him all of your qualities just to mess with me."
"What? Is it working," Anna smiled as she lowered the baby.
Not even bothering to answer her, she merely reminded her, "Look. While I prepare for... my Coronation Day... just... make sure he's fed, gets his energy out, stays nice and clean..."
"...and he gets his naps in," Anna nodded pulling her nephew close to her, "I know... this isn't my first time doing this. Just get ready for your big day, it's only a couple of years away."
She sighed before smiling at her son, "Sora, be good to your Aunt."
"Mmmmmmm...Ma!" The baby smiled.
Anna gushed in amazement, "His first word! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
"Ooooooh!" Elsa beamed equally as happy, and kissed her son on the forehead, "I'll be back soon..."
As Anna and Sora watched the future Queen leave, the former held up the latter, "Okay... I bet for every chocolate I own the next word will be Anna... right?" As Elsa closed the door behind her, she heard her sister cry out, "Whew! Smells like you left me a gift too! ...better get you a new diaper..."
Elsa giggled to herself before starting a small prayer, "I don't know what I've done to deserve Sora... but thank you! Thank you for him! Thank you for giving my son to me!"
As she walked off to prepare for the day she became Queen, she felt like her trouble finally come to an end...
...it came back of course. The only thing she kept ever since she ran away from her own Kingdom was a small locket with a photograph of herself and her two-year-old child when the picture was taken.
Sometime after that, someone broke into the castle and stole her child. She tried to stop it. Even with her powers, she failed to stop the kidnapper. She never felt so powerless to save her own flesh and blood. And with her son missing, she lost control over her powers again. She was back to square one.
However, she didn't care about that. She wanted her son back. The Coronation was put on hold until her child was safe and sound. Even Anna, who looked forward to the day more than anyone, agreed. She was just as concerned about what happened to her nephew and Godson.
Many years passed, but there was no sign of the child or his kidnapper. It was like they vanished from the face of the Earth. Eventually, the Council lost their patience and demanded that she carry out her duties as Queen believing the child to be dead.
However, despite her belief that her son was alive, she carried out her duties and went on with the Coronation. Things were going well, until her sister introduced her to Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, and wanted her blessing for their marriage.
Perhaps, Anna felt like she was running out of time, she felt the need to find her "true love" and have children of her own she felt the need to rush things. However, when she told her she couldn't marry a man she just met... she eventually lost her glove and exposed her powers to the public. All those years of concealing her powers to everyone was now common knowledge.
Now she lived alone on the North Mountain, in her palace made of ice. She may have been alone but she was alone and free. Still, more than anything she would love to know her son was safe and sound. Tears slid down her face as she closed the locket, she would do almost anything to see her son again...
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. She expected Anna to follow her. She was stubborn like that. If she told her she was going to be fine and let her open the gates maybe she'd finally stay away. Wiping off her tears, she turned to walk to the staircase. She whispered to herself, "Let's get this over with..."
She used her powers to open the doors from a distance and was about to greet her sister.
"Hello?"
Elsa's foot paused as she was about to take the first step down. That wasn't Anna's voice. It wasn't even a woman's voice. The voice sounded like a came from a male—a young one in fact.
"Is anyone here?"
She thought for a moment about what to do, and she called down, "I am."
After a pause for a moment, the young man called out, "Who are you?"
"It doesn't matter who I am," Elsa spoke with a calm voice, "This is my home. I must ask why you are here."
"I... it's kinda a long story but..." The youthful voice replied, "But I've been wandering around for some time... I was separated from my friends and now I was hoping to find my way back home. I was told there was Kingdom nearby but I seem to have gotten lost. You're castle was the only building I've seen in a while..."
Oh, so, he didn't know about her situation. He was just lost. She replied to him, "Look. Arendelle's just down the mountain. Just follow the safe path down and you shouldn't be able to miss it. Now, please, go."
"Oh, thank you, umm..."
She was guessing he was trying to figure out her name to thank her properly. Well, at least he had some manners. Figuring he meant no harm, she told him, "Elsa..."
She turned away from the stairs and was about to go out to her balcony when the boy replied, "Thank you, Elsa..."
The words he said next she certainly never suspected, "My name is Sora by the way."
Her eyes widened as she dared not take another step forward. Turning back to the stairs, she whispered with a glimpse of hope, "Could it be..."
Rushing down the stairs, she called out to the boy, "Wait!"
"Hmmm?"
Halfway down the stairs, she finally spotted the boy. While his red and black clothes seemed alien turn to her, it was when the teen turned to face her was her breath was taken away...
...the boy looked upon her with the same blue eyes that stared upon her long ago...
Dun dun duuuuuuuuuun~
In case you're wondering this is Post ReMind Sora, in case you're wondering. So, the entire Xehanort saga has already happened and Sora managed to defeat Yozora to end up here. But there are still plenty of more questions you're thinking of...
Like who took Sora? How is Elsa going to react to see her son is alive and well? Will Sora remember his own mother? How will Hans react the the Queen's missing son is still alive? How will Anna react?
Well, guess there's nothing to do but stay tuned.
