What If some of the What If actually Happened
Chapt 34

Clarification:
I apologize if my previous chapter was confusing. I intended to show how Jason and Elizabeth's life could have been if some of the "What Ifs" really happened. Jason and Elizabeth married on December 20, 2023, and they returned on December 30, 2023. The timeline changes when they wake up the following day to discover it is December 27, 2023.
In Chapter Nine, the "what if" Jason and Elizabeth slept together on Halloween instead of Zander. Elizabeth was pregnant with Jason's baby (not Zander). They married on December 27, 2003. So, in Chapter 33, they wake up to the reality that they've been married for 20 years. Because they've been married for 20 years, other events never occurred or occurred to others. The answer key will be at the end, and my next story will be about the What Ifs happening in the reset-actual timeline. The following chapters will continue to the "party" and reveal changes in the timeline. One revelation in the previous chapter is that Danny is not Jason's son. Lucky Spencer is.
In Chapter 28, the 'what if" was Lucky and Sam were together and announced she was pregnant on 9/30/2011 with the baby due the first week of June. Danny was born on June 1, 2012 (making him Lucky's baby, instead of the OG story being Jason). Aiden is Jason's because they've been married since 2003 (and Elizabeth never reunited with Lucky). A new child is born of this union. I brought Emily back, but with TC's death, I didn't want to write Nikolas as alive. I hope this helps clarify how the story heads and ends.
December 27, 2023
Jason shakes his head. "I don't think we can survive today without a cheat sheet."
Elizabeth says, "Jason and I need to go upstairs. We will be back soon. I have to find something." They arrive in their bedroom, and Elizabeth flips through the pages of her letter. Jason reviews notations in the scrapbook. Jason asks, "Are you ready to go to our party?"
"I'm ready for this day to be over."
"Me too. I did not expect this to happen when we woke up this morning."
"I'll suffer through anything if it means Emily is alive."
Jason looks out their window. "Elizabeth, is that our "Christmas Tree from this year we planned on planting later? It looks almost 40 feet tall!"
"I guess that's what happens if we had one 20 years ago."
Afternoon-Anniversary Party at the Metro Court.
Emily requested a limo from the Quartermaine's to pick everyone up from the Estates. She rides with Jason, Elizabeth, Jake, Aiden, and Audra. Elizabeth tries not to stare at her beautiful daughter. Her notes said she was named after her Gram and Anne Webber. Audra, short for Audrey and Anne, for her care and devotion to her father and grandmother. Elizabeth hesitantly says, "I'm sorry Nikolas isn't here with us. I miss him. I heard you say Spencer is bringing your children to help us celebrate."
Emily replies, "Charis and Marvella will be with Spencer in the lobby. Nikolas's death has been particularly hard on Marvella. She was riding with him when he fell." Elizabeth squeezes Emily's hand. She remembers reading the notes on Marvella, which means "Marvel" or "Miracle" in Greek. Charis means "Grace, kindness, and life."
Cameron meets Emma and her parents at the Metro Court. Robin and Patrick have reserved a suite at the Metro Court for the holidays. Robin must return to Berkeley the next day for work. Patrick arranged for Georgie Spinelli to watch Noah during the party. Jeff and Anne picked up Audrey from her assisted care facility.
The limo arrives, and the valet helps Elizabeth and Emily exit the vehicle. Jason helps his daughter out of the car.
They walk inside and are greeted by Carly Corothinos. "Elizabeth, Jason, Happy 20th Anniversary." Carly hugs Elizabeth.
Elizabeth stammers, "Th..th..thank you, Carly." She gives Jason a 'what the fuck was that' look. Elizabeth can count on one hand the number of times Carly has hugged her.
Carly says, "The ballroom is decorated per Emily Cassidine's orders. Carly shakes Jason's hand, "Michael wanted me to thank you for your advice on the ELQ shareholder meeting. Enjoy your night."
Spencer smiles in the lobby. "Are you ready? Mom is upstairs with everyone else. She told me to bring everyone upstairs." He kneels to Audra, "How is my favorite goddaughter today?"
Audra giggles, "I'm your only goddaughter."
"That's right. Your cousins are waiting to see you."
On the elevator, Elizabeth whispers, "Carly and Michael? What was that about?"
"I don't know. I'm still wrapping my mind around Emily's and our kids."
They exit the elevator and walk into the ballroom. Jason and Elizabeth are greeted by applause. Jason whispers, "How long do we have to stay before we can make a graceful exit?" Elizabeth elbows him, and he responds with a groan.
They survive the night with congratulations and speeches about their life together.
Monica raises a toast, drinking sparkling cider.
Jeff congratulates his daughter and Jason. Anne speaks about her return to Port Charles and the privilege of being a part of Elizabeth's life. It brought her closer to Audrey. Audrey says she wasn't initially a fan of Jason's, but she's glad she gave him a chance. (Elizabeth whispers, "I guess my dad came to Port Carles without my mom, and he's with Anne.)
Michael says, "Dad is sorry he can't be here tonight, but he's finalizing a deal in Toyko. Morgan is in Puerto Rico and is sorry he couldn't be here, so he wishes you well. (Elizabeth and Jason share surprised looks).
Jason says, "Morgan? I thought he was…" Elizabeth elbows Jason, stops, and says, "Well, that's good to hear.
Jason says to Elizabeth we need to find a way to get home. I wanna read those journals and figure out what is happening."
Josslyn toasts the happy couple, saying her dad is in Australia, but he would want to wish them well.
Sonny says, "Congratulations to Jason and Elizabeth. Twenty years ago, you married someone I never thought would fit in your life, but she has been a strong partner and believer in you. She understands our partnership, and she continues to stick by you." Raising his glass of champagne, he says, "Here's to twenty more."
Jason whispers, "I want to go home and figure out what the fuck is happening. Michael said he was in Toyoko!"
Others come to congratulate the happy couple on their 20 years of marriage. Jason says can we go home? I gotta get out of here."
Sonny approaches the couple and says, "Jason, I'll see you next week to discuss shipment problems."
Jason replies, "Okay, call and let me know when you want to meet. Where is Carly? I want to thank her for holding this event."
"Carly is downstairs working. She understands that this is an important event for you and Elizabeth. She's busy with the Metro Court renovations. She's happy for you and Elizabeth. She understands the boundaries that you created." Jason raises his eyebrows but says nothing.
Elizabeth finds Emily and says Jason and I want to get out of here. Could you find a way to get the kids home for us? I'll ask Cameron if we can use his car to drive home, and then he could get a ride with you."
Emily replies, "Sure, you guys go have fun; I'll see you later."
Elizabeth finds Cameron and asks if she can take the keys so she and Jason can go home. Cameron says, "I'll get a ride back with Emily; you guys have fun. Jason and Elizabeth arrive at the Estates and quickly change their clothes. Jason finds the liquor cabinet and looks for a key to unlock it. He heads to the wine room and finds the key hidden in an old tumbler on the top shelf. He takes two beers from the mini refrigerator and returns to the liquor cabinet. He removes a bottle of tequila and two tumblers. Elizabeth waits for him in their bedroom, and they begin reading the journals.
Elizabeth says, "Jason, these aren't the journals that I wrote; these are all new."
Jason finds a stack of letters. He says, "I can't find any of my old letters. These letters are not the same as the ones I wrote. What the fuck is going on?"

Answer key:
Hopefully, this will tie up loose ends. As it is about Jason and Elizabeth and those important to them, many characters may not be part of the new story. If I changed something you don't like or got rid of characters you love, I apologize. Some will not be crucial to the s/l. I welcome feedback on some couples I haven't decided how to pair them.
Summary:
Because Emily was alive, she was a more present mother to Spencer, and he wasn't shipped off to boarding schools. He had never met Esme, and she had never existed. The Hook never happened.

Chapter 1:
When Jason returned to Port Charles in 2000, Elizabeth made different choices.
Chapter 6-8:
Elizabeth made different choices about Jason and Zander. Jason didn't lie about Sonny being dead, and Elizabeth stood by Jason. Elizabeth never slept with Zander.
Chapter 9-16:
Elizabeth and Jason made love on Halloween 2003. She is pregnant, and they got married on December 27, 2003. Cameron Steven Morgan was born in May 2004. He was named after Cameron Lewis, who saved him from dying in the Port Charles Hotel Fire, and Steven, after Elizabeth's brother.
Because Elizabeth and Jason were married, Jason never agreed to raise Sam's baby with Sonny. Sam had ulterior motives, which will be revealed later. Her events are tied to Sonny and Carly.
Chapter 12-16:
Elizabeth didn't have to deal with Lucky's addiction or accusations. Jake's conception occurred naturally.
Chapter 17:
The Metro Court Hostage events happened slightly differently.
Jason killed "Craig," aka Jerry Jacks, causing future events not to occur. (Nikolas's poisoning, Emily's blackmail, Robin's lab explosion/kidnapping, the water pathogen, and Robin being held in a lab in 2015 did not happen.)
Alan had a heart attack but survived. He did not die until Stuart Damon's real-life death in 2021. Alan and Monica bickered and fought but remained happily married until his death.
(Off-screen. Police killed Diego Alcazar in a PCPD stand-off. The Text Message Killer does not surface; Georgie was not killed. In 2008, she left Port Charles to attend an out-of-state University).
Chapter 18-19:
Elizabeth gave birth to Jacob Martin Morgan.
Jason was arrested for the murder ("disappearance") of Lorenzo Alcazar.
Jake's kidnapping happened differently, with other results.
Elizabeth did not testify against Jason due to spousal privilege.
Jason was acquitted.
Sam and Lucky started a relationship.
Chapter 21: The B&W Ball:
Anthony Zaccahara injected Emily with a neurotoxin, which made it appear she was dead.
Luke Spencer died of a heart attack.
Ric Lansing died of a Speer to his chest.
Anthony Zaccahara dies from a broken neck. Jason finds a syringe in Anthony's pocket and, with help from Nadine Crowell, discovers the drug can make it appear the person is dead and can last up to an hour. Jason finds Elizabeth still with Emily when Emily's pulse returns.
Due to Ric's death, he never returned to torment Elizabeth in 2014/15. He did not bring Hayden to Port Charles, and Hayden does not exist.
Chapter 24
Since Anthony Zaccahara died in 2007, he never shot Kate at her wedding to Sonny.
Chapters 26-29 (additional notes)
Sam was responsible for the Russian's kidnapping of Jake.
Aiden is Jason's son. Elizabeth never had an affair with Nikolas or reunited with Lucky. Jason pushed Franco off of the GH roof, killing him.
Jake was stopped from running into the street and getting hit by a car. Instead, Maureen Harper ran into a pole outside their house. She died, and her toddler son survived. An unknown baby girl was brain dead after surgery from Patrick and Robin. The baby turned out to be Josslyn's twin, Nelle Harper. The baby was taken by Claudia before her death and given to Franco. Franco married Maureen before his death, and they "adopted" Nelle. Nelle's kidneys were donated to Josslyn, who was dying from Kidney cancer.
Lucky and Sam reunited. In September 2011, they announced her pregnancy. (Off-screen, Sam gave birth to Daniel Lucas Spencer on June 1, 2012.) John McBain arrived in Port Charles in March 2012. He flirted with Sam McCall. Lucky left town in October 2012. John McBain dated Sam and helped her raise Danny. He re-joined the FBI in 2014. Lucky returned briefly in July 2015 and signed away all rights to Danny.) McBain returned in 2020 and reunited with Sam. With John McBain returning, Finn's character does not exist.
Edward Quartermaine died of natural causes in 2012.
Since Jake did not die, the bar "Jake's" remained the same and was not changed to the Floating Rib. (Off screen in 2015, Jason bought Jake's, and management resumed under Coleman Ratcliff.)
Bits and Morsels: Chapters 26 and 28
Robin helped Jason understand the importance of family, and he started a better relationship with the Quartermaines. In turn, they accepted him and didn't interfere with his friendship with Sonny Corthinos.
Steve Hardy died, and Jason met a young teenage Elizabeth. Jeff Webber is divorced and moved to Port Charles with his daughters Sarah and Elizabeth.
Jason and Robin found Elizabeth after her rape, and with their help, she got the care she needed. Since Lucky was not the one to save her, she did not feel she owed him for her sanity. Elizabeth got treatment early and received therapy. Elizabeth had a friendship, not a romance, with Lucky. Without Robin's or Elizabeth's knowledge, Jason arranged for Tom Baker (Elizabeth's rapist) to be killed in a prison riot.
Jason confessed to AJ that Carly lied and AJ is Michael's father. He drafted documents ensuring Michael is raised with love and not used as a weapon. Jason's actions changed how Michael was raised, and Carly could not manipulate Jason. Jason set the boundaries he wished he had done sooner. Due to Jason setting boundaries for AJ, the Quartermaines, and Carly regarding custody of Michael, he had a healthier relationship with the Quartermaine side of the family. Michael later gets involved with ELQ. Carly connected with Sonny Corothinos.
Chapters 30-31
Since Jason did not die in 2012, "Jake Doe" never happened. Sorry, Drew fans, but this also means Drew and Scout do not exist.
Dawn of Day and Brain Mapping never happened. This also means that Willow does not exist.
Chapter 30 Bits and Morsels:
Elizabeth's friendship with Lucky was affected because he chose her sister Sarah on Valentine's Day. When Lucky discovered his father raped his mother before he was born, he consulted Elizabeth on what she went through. Lucky was furious with his parents over their lies and moved out of the family home. He did not die in a fire like in the OG story but left town instead and returned in 2000.
In 1999, Jason and Elizabeth became friends, and he took her riding on the back of his motorcycle. Elizabeth found Jason shot in the snow, and she helped care for him.
Patrick did not cheat on Robin. Lisa Niles was a stalker. Jason killed Lisa Niles in 2011.
Chapter 32 Bits and Morsels.
Anne Logan returned in 2012. She later married Elizabeth's father, Jeff, and became a caregiver to Audrey Hardy.
Steve Webber did not get convicted of murder or sent to prison. He returned to Port Charles in 2016 and married Kelly Lee in 2020.
Johnny Zaccahara served his time and returned to Port Charles in 2021. He works for Sonny at Xtreme Motors.
Additional Notes and Relationships:
Carly owns the Metro Court and Kelly's Diner.
Dex does not exist.
Nina and Valentin live in Greece. Charlotte does not exist.
LuLu is still in a coma.
Jax is in Australia and unlikely to return.
Emily is currently single due to the recent death of Nikolas.
Sam is currently with John McBain.
Sonny and Carly are together.
Steve Webber and Kelly Lee are married.
Spinelli and Maxie are dating.
Ned and Olivia are married.
Laura remains the mayor and is married to Kevin.
Jeff and Anne Webber have been married since 2014.
Emma and Cameron are in school together at Stanford and are in a relationship.
Mac and Flecia are married.
Matt did not kill Lisa Niles. He remained in Port Charles and is married to Nadine Crowell.

Last night, ABC aired General Hospital's 60th Anniversary Special. We got the surprise that Steve Burton is returning as Jason. I'm not holding my breath for a Liason reunion, as TPTB doesn't want that. At least with this story, we can have a Liason happy ending.
