Multimedia Confessions - Season 2

You're introduced to a young Saya-jin/Endurion male of Blasian descent at about 6'0" with a fighter's frame. His hair spiked and black with eyes of light gray and electrical blue ends on his hair. He wears a black three piece suit with a dark blue collared tie, a tie, and black boots.

"This is Ryo Nazo Blackthorn, a Time Patroller and younger brother to Joshinari Blackthorn. Ryo works in the seven-star restaurant known as the Tori Dragon Palace (which is two blocks away from the Pixel Palace). Now it has expanded where all across the media, all around the multiverse, many pop in to have a drink. Sometimes, they share stories, and even secrets. Because—as we all know—what the bartender hears is confidential... isn't it?"

Episode 13 – Conker

So here I was tending the bar at the start of the new year. It's been a good week…had my birthday surrounded by my friends, my wife, and my son. It's funny that I'm nearly 30…not that age matters too much to me. But that's life…so I was doing the do as usual, and in walked someone I haven't seen in a very…very long time. Conker the Squirrel.

Of all the characters, he was someone I should have known would have come into my bar eventually. He came up to the bar, asking for a mocktail. A Mango Mule of all things. I serve him.

"Cutting back on the firewater?" I asked.

He nods.

"Yeah, I've been cutting back on the booze." Conker said downing the drink. "It's hard…but I gotta do it."

"Hey man, good on you for making the attempt." I say to him. "I'm sorry it's been rough though."

"Yeah, there's just not a place for me in the gaming market today or since my game came out on the N64. Rare just dusted me after one remake…I can and can't blame them. Microsoft wanted different things." Conker mused as I poured him another. "And here I remain, a cult classic with no sequel."

I could only offer condolences.

"And my fandom barely exists. Barely any fanfiction of quality, my R34 count doesn't crack a thousand…I had to keep myself going through fan projects. Got into Smash Remix." Conker mused.

I did praise the game. It's good fun and a valid attempt at updating the original Smash Brothers. Only really shows what the original could have been with more time in the oven.

"It's a nice little game…me and Rodent play it in our down time." Conker told me as I breathed a sigh of relief. "Yeah, I kept him around…the only guy I could rely on. Good man, he is."

I ask him about the kingdom and he admits that things are better. If anything, doing the bare minimum was enough for the people…given their last king was an utter tyrant obsessed with milk. It was in a rather isolationist state for quite some time…until now.

"I still miss her, you know. Berri. I spent nearly a year mourning her. Made sure she got a statue. If I was going to be king, I could put some of that money to use to give Berri the nicest memorial. When I got it finished, I made a promise. That if I was going to be King, I'd be better." Conker remarked. "And so far, things are okay. Even got in a new fan project. Something something Digital Circus. But hey, it pays. And the kingdom could use it."

"To the fans. Let's drink to it with whiskey." I said pouring two shots. "Cheers, mate."

"Cheers." Conker said before we clink glasses.

A good customer all around. He'd pay and leave, but before wishing me a happy birthday even if it was a few days late. Even left a hefty tip. It's bittersweet, really…but life's no bundle of roses. You see a lot of strange things at the Tori Dragon, meet a lot of strange folks…so I've seen plenty here running the Tori. And that ain't no lie…swear to it.

(A/N: Conker's Bad Fur Day, what a game it was. Personally adored the N64 Multiplayer, and played the crap out of it on P64 in my schooling days. But damn, does it hit in the feels for it's tragedy. No sequel, a downer sequel, and basically nothing more than a cult classic. Just one remake and in a state of legal hell. Nintendo and Microsoft did this squirrel so dirty…as for that fan project I was hinting at. Let's just say that's an Ao3 exclusive.)
