Grandfather Crime by VampireGirlFan1
Summary: What if Jinjing met her grandfather? When Shifu and Dongmei's father return to the Jade Palace, Po thinks the family reunion will be so sweet, while Jinjing wants a relationship with her grandfather. They soon learn to realize that Shifu and Shirong don't get along.
This is my fourth Kung Fu Panda fanfiction story. I really hope that this story goes as well as the rest of them did.
This story takes place in Season 1, Episode 25: "Father Crime" from Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
The story fits in the Story of Jinjing series.
I'm only doing this episode because I want Jinjing to at least meet one of her family's relatives. She will also have a relationship with them, other than Shifu.
Keep in mind that this is a short story.
Jinjing will be voiced by Isabel Durant in this story. Not Emma Watson. I'm so sorry. Emma Watson will voice Jinjing in the rest of my stories. The reason I changed Emma Watson to Isabel Durant was because I thought it would be fair for the character to have someone else play the role like they did with some of the actors and actresses with the characters in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. I think that the only people who reprised their roles in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness will be Lucy Lu (Viper), James Hong (Mr. Ping), and Randall Duk Kim (Oogway). I could be wrong. But someone could please tell me if I'm wrong or not.
I don't own Kung Fu Panda and the characters. The rights go to DreamWorks. I only own this story and Jinjing.
I have watched the trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4 six times now. It was really good! I knew that they would bring at least one of the villains (Tai Lung) back. So far, I don't know if the Furious Five will be in the movie, but we'll see. Mike Mitchell stated that the Furious Five will make an appearance in the film and that they are "off on their own individual missions," with producer Rebecca Huntley confirming that there will be "a glimpse of the Furious Five." I don't know, but again, we'll see. When I first saw the trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4, I was like, "Oh, I see what Jack Black meant by The Chameleon can bring past villains (Tai Lung) back to life, which is TOTALLY UNFAIR."
I don't know where Jinjing will fit into Kung Fu Panda 4, IF I want to write another Kung Fu Panda FanFiction story.
TW: Mention of character death will be in this story.
Rated K for violence
Here's Chapter 1.
Chapter 1
Jinjing stands before the dummy in the Training Hall while holding the dual broadswords. She takes a deep breath. She begins to use the swords and hits the dummy with them. The female red panda continued to train until she grew weary. She decided to take a walk through the bamboo forest. Then, she heard voices. Jinjing drew her swords and then hid behind a pile of rocks.
"Alright, bring him over here, yeah that's right, bring him against the wall," The female red panda looked and saw Fung and his gang of Croc Bandits, cornering a short person wearing a hat.
"Hand over the money, old man," Fung demanded.
Ugh. Them again? How many times do I have to keep kicking their butts? Jining thought.
Fung takes a small bag from the old man. "Are you… wha, are you kidding me? What is this? Five yuan! This wouldn't buy me a bowl of noodles,"
"Uh, actually I know where you can get a bowl of noodles for two yuan," one of the Croc Bandits added.
Fung throws his helmet on the ground, annoyed. "Gah! Do you wanna do this Gahri?! Do you wanna do my job?!"
"No, I just…" Gahri said nervously.
"Well – no maybe that's what we should do! Maybe we should switch jobs so you could tell me like, 'Oh, I got this bowl of soup place for two yuan.' Yeah, you try being a leader, and I'll try being the total pain in the butt, who's all like interrupting!" Fung shouted at Gahri.
"Don't be like that," Fung growls then pushes Gahri to the ground, causing him to knock down a bunch of things. Then, Fung picks up the old man with one hand and holds his fist with the other.
"Alright, I'm running out of patience,[1]" Jinjing said to herself, readying her swords.
"Give us the rest of the money or I shall smite you with the mighty wrath of my punch!" Fung turns to the rest of the Croc Bandits while still holding onto the old man's neck. "That's how you do this job: direct," he turns back only to see that he now has his hand around Tigress' neck. Jinjing gasps softly, happy.
"Hey, h-h-hey there you. What's… um. How's your old tiger… thing?" Fung asked.
Tigress puts her hand around Fung's snout. "Let's not spoil this by talking,"
Jinjing came out from behind the rock pile, with swords in her hands. "Well, well, if it isn't the Croc Bandits? Seriously, trying to take money from a harmless, old man? That's not cool,"
Po helps the old man. "You okay sir?"
Tigress pushes Fung away.
"Hale and hearty my good man. Despite their malitudinous intentions, those ruffians harmed me not one jot or one tipple," the old man responded.
"I imagine you'll wanna be moving along now, or else I'll kick your butts like I did the last time," Jinjing said aiming her swords at the Croc Bandit leader.
"Yeah, normally I would, but I sorta can't" Tigress and Jinjing approach Fung. "Don't get me wrong. You both scare me. Any second now I'll be standing in a puddle. But the guy I'm working for, he scares me more," Fung nervously says.
"Who's that?" Tigress questions him.
"Answer her," Jinjing demanded.
"I can't tell ya," Fung answers.
"It's Tong Fo," Gahri chimed in.
"Tong Fo!" Po exclaimed.
The female red panda groaned in frustration. "Why him? Out of all the bad guys, it had to be Tong Fo?"
"Gah! Can you believe… this is what I have to…" Fung throws his helmet in frustration. "Darn it, Gary!" The Croc Bandit leader puts his helmet back on. "Look, this guy stole a lot of money from my boss,"
"A boldfaced prevarication, sir!" the old man said in shock.
"First of all, I thought his name was Gahri. Second of all, why would this old man, who means any of us no harm steal money from Tong Fo?" Jinjing asked.
"First, it is, but I called him Gary. Second, I can't go back without that money; Tong Fo would do terrible things to me and he'll stare at me with those eyes," Fung explained.
"The eyes are spooky," Wall Eye added as his right eye faces in a different direction.
Fung holds up his battle axe.
Tigress gets into a fighting stance. "So be it,"
Jinjing assumed a fighting stance, gripping her swords tightly. "You guys ask for it,"
Po pushes the old man to safety. "Stand back, looks like things are about to get real,"
"Croc Bandits attack!" Fung shouted. The bandits rushed into the attack. They're easily defeated and one by one get thrown to the top of a cliff. Jinjing fought one croc bandit and then hit the croc bandit to the top of the cliff and knocked down the rest of the bandits back into the fight.
The battle causes the old man to drop his belongings. He tries to pick them up but is picked up by Fung.
"Hand over the money, old man," Fung demanded. He tries to run away but is chased down by Tigress and Jinjing. "Oh, no you don't," Jinjing said. Tigress pushes the old man to safety while the female red panda fights the Croc Bandit leader.
"Perhaps I can be of some assistance," the old man says as he picks up his belongings.
"No!" Po shouted.
The old man picked up his belongings and uses the stick part to fight the bandits. He knocks two bandits off of Po and then knocks Fung out for Jinjing. He lands in a heroic pose.
"Whoa," Po says in amazement.
"He's good," Tigress compliments the old man.
A croc quickly comes by and knocks the old man to the ground. "But, not great," Jinjing added. The crocs all hang onto the edge of the cliff and then plummet to the ground and run away.
"This isn't over, well this part's over, but there's gonna be other parts!" Fung says before running away.
"Yeah, yeah, this isn't over. Blah, blah, blah," Jinjing said in annoyance.
The croc who knocked down the old man still stands there, but once the rest of the bandits flee, he too runs away, screaming. Jinjing puts away her swords with her holster.
"It would seem we taught those hooligans a badly needed lesson in interpersonal affiliatories, no?" the old man says after he gets up.
Po gives a confusing look. "Yeah, you really kicked some croc there old timer," the panda complemented.
"Oh, Shirong," the old man introduced himself as he bowed. Tigress, Po, and Jinjing bow back.
"Oh, I'm Po and this is Tigress and this is Jinjing," Po introduces himself and his friends.
"Nice to meet you, sir," the female red panda greeted Shirong.
"Are you traveling far?" Tigress questioned him.
"I should be nearly there. I'm on my way to visit my son at the Jade Palace and maybe if I'm lucky, if my daughter is there, I'll visit her too,"
"Your son?" Po questions in confusion.
"Your daughter?" Jinjing questioned.
"Yes, their names are Shifu and Dongmei. Do you know them?" Shirong answers them as he removes his hat and faces them.
Po, Tigress, and Jinjing are surprised by this. Po gasps deeply.
They continue traveling. Po was asking Shirong questions about what Shifu and Dongmei were like as kids. Jinjing sighed sadly when her mother was brought up. Tigress seems to notice.
"Hey, are you okay?" Tigress asks softly with concern so Po and Shirong don't hear them.
"I'm fine. Thanks for checking on me, Tigress," Jinjing responded softly.
"If you ever need to talk about your mother, I'm here,"
Jinjing smiles softly. "Thanks, Tigress. I love you,"
"I love you too,"
"Shifu and Dongmei were the perfect children really; their behavior was always utterly pervestricable," Shirong answered Po's questions.
"Oh, yeah, same old… Shifu," Po said before eating an apple.
"Po, do you know the 'Lao Gu Mystery of the Disappearing Coin'?" Shirong asks.
"No, but it sounds cool!" Po responds.
Shirong prepares to take something out but doesn't appear to have it. "Do you have a coin I could borrow?"
Shirong hands his belongings to Tigress as Po gives him a coin. He places a coin in his hand, moves it to the other hand, and blows on it. The coin seems to disappear.
"Whoa! Can I see it again?" Po says with amazement.
"Of course," Shirong answers as he holds out his hand. Po gives Shirong another coin and he makes it disappear. Po is impressed. Tigress grunts while Jinjing rolls her eyes and shakes her head as Po continues to give Shirong coins, which he makes disappear.
"Is this ever getting old?" Jinjing queries him.
"Not for me," Shirong responds before he does it one last time.
"Whoa! I'm out. You, sir, are good," Po comments. Shirong shakes his head in disbelief.

That evening, the four finally arrived at the Jade Palace.
"Oh, man. Shifu is gonna be so excited. Wait, should we knock? Let's knock," Po pushes Shirong in front of the door and knocks. Shifu opens the door.
"Surprise!" Po exclaims.
"Son!" Shirong says while holding his arms out.
"Jinjing! Get inside now!" Shifu ordered.
The female red panda went inside without question. Shifu slams the door. What was that about? Jinjing thought. Po, Tigress, and Shirong entered the Hall of Warriors.
"What're you doing here?" Shifu demanded.
"Are you still upset about… things?" Shirong questioned.
"Yes, I'm still upset about things,"
"Well, I brought you something that might take your mind off it: my fist!"
Shirong begins sparring with Shifu. The rest of the Furious Five walk in and try to help Shifu. Jinjing stepped forward to help as well.
"Don't," Tigress warned them.
They spar evenly matched until Shifu backs Shirong up into a wall.
"I see your skills have progressed far since I first introduced you and your sister to Kung Fu. One thing though, you never did understand strategy," Shirong says before picking up a nearby sword and smacking Shifu on the top of his head with it.
"Ow!" Shifu shouted.
"Isn't it marvelous my boy; just like old times?"
"If this were like old times you would have stolen something by now and… put it back,"
"Put what back?"
"Put it back!"
Shirong takes the sword out of his sleeve and puts it back on its stand.
"I suppose it's best that you all find out at once. This is Dongmei and my father, Shirong. He's also Jinjing's grandfather. He is a conman, a thief, and leaving. Out," Shifu introduces him to his students and niece before he points to the doors to his father.
"What? But, Uncle Shifu, you can't just kick him out. He's not just your father, he's mom's father, and my grandfather," Jinjing reminded her stubborn uncle.
"You send me out there and I won't last a day," Shirong said.
"The Crocs were telling the truth weren't they; you stole from Tong Fo," Tigress realized.
"No indeed, I merely sold them a priceless jade statue that didn't, actually happen to, as it were, exist. I admit the distinction is purely infrantisular but…" Shirong explained.
"Don't do that!" Shifu interrupted.
"What?" Shirong questions innocently.
"Make up words: 'infranisular', 'fortisrumpunate', 'rebeltreffication'! Do you have any idea how confused Dongmei and I were as children?! I don't want you to do the same thing to Jinjing,"
"I assure you my motives were entirely appavustrian,"
"Get out!" Shifu shouted at him as he pointed to the doors.
"But, Uncle Shifu, let him stay with us, just for one night," Jinjing protested.
Shifu turns to face his niece. "Jinjing, he's not staying,"
"Yes, he is,"
"No, he's not,"
"Yes, he is!" Jinjing yelled. Surprising, Po, the Furious Five, and Shirong.
"Jeez. has she done this before?" Po asks Tigress in a whisper.
"No, this is the first time she has yelled at Shifu in her life ever," Tigress answered.
"No, he's not," Shifu told Jinjing firmly.
"Yes, he is,[2]" Jinjing pretended to cry while giving him the puppy dog eyes.
Shifu hugged the stubborn female red panda.
"You know, your mother used to pull that when she was a child," Shirong pointed out.
"She did?" Jinjing questioned her grandfather.
"Yes, and I always fall for it," Shirong answered.
"So, you were a sucker?"
"For her, yes, but I love her so much,"
"But, Shifu, if you throw him out Tong Fo would hurt him 'til he quits breathing. And you know, Jinjing's right, he's your dad, and he's her grandfather," Po reasons with his master.
Shirong and Jinjing smiled. Shifu sighs. "One night. That's all,"
"Yes!" Jinjing cheered.
"How can I thank you, son?" Shirong asks.
"By leaving as soon as possible and you are to stay away from Jinjing," Shifu answers before turning to the others. "I suggest you all lock up your valuables," Shifu says as he walks away. The young female red panda's shocked by her uncle telling Shirong to stay away from her.
"I need to see Dongmei, I haven't seen her for so long. So, where is she? Is she here?"
Tears welled up in Jinjing's eyes. She turns away, not wanting to face him. "She's dead," she choked as tears streamed down her face, and ran off.
Tigress ran after her. "Jinjing, wait,"
Shirong looked heartbroken. "What? No, no, not my little winter plum. She can't be," Po and the rest of the Furious Five felt remorse for Shirong.
"We're so sorry for your loss," Po said.
"Thank you, Po,"

Later that night, Jinjing sat on her bed, crying. She's holding a painting of her as a baby and her mother. She heard a knock. What?"
"Jinjing, it's Tigress. Can I come in?" Tigress answered.
The female red panda wiped her tears with one paw. "Yeah, come in,"
Tigress opened the doors and entered Jinjing's room. "Hey,"
"Hi,"
"Tigress, I appreciate that you're concerned about me, but I'm fine," Jinjing assures her.
The female tiger looks at the painting and then at her adopted cousin. "Remember, we're all here if you want to talk or need anything," Tigress turns to leave the room to go to her room.
"Wait, can you stay for a while?"
Tigress smiles at her. "Of course, I can," She sits next to Jinjing. The two looked at the picture.
"Sometimes, I almost forget what my mom looks like. What about you, Tigress? What does your mom look like?" Jinjing questioned. Tigress stared at her.
"I never knew what my mother and father looked like, because my parents dropped me off at the Bao Gu Orphanage, and I was raised there. The other kids were afraid of me, but Shifu taught me how to control my temper and strength. I earned the other kids and the caretakers' trust. The adults were still afraid of me," Tigress explained.
"Until Uncle Shifu adopted you?"
"Yes. To tell you the truth, Shifu is the closest thing I have to a father and you to a sister. I know we are cousins, but I do love you like a sister,"
"Aw, I love you too, Tigress. OH! I remember that Po was teaching a class to bunnies about Kung Fu, when got to tell a story about you. He cried at the end and the bunnies were laughing,"
"Did he now?"
"Yes, he did. They told me and I couldn't stop laughing for about a week,"
The girls were laughing. Until they hear breaking and yelling. "Help! Help!"
"Shirong! Hold on! I'm coming!" they heard Po shouted. He gasps. "Shirong!" he yelled.
"What was that?" Jinjing asks.
"I don't know. Come on," Tigress answers. Jinjing puts the picture down next to her bed and then picks up her swords. They left the room.
That's the first chapter of Grandfather Crime.
