A man who went by Lightning Joseph McQueen was playing Sonic Frontiers on his PlayStation 5 in his game room. Lightning has been a fan of Sonic The Hedgehog since he was a little kid. And being a race car driver doesn't stop his passions.

It was one thirty on a Friday afternoon. Lightning was on a Discord call with Cruz Ramirez, and Cal Weathers — nephew of Strip Weathers. "Cal, Seriously?" Lightning asked, they were talking about the new Pokémon Series, Pokémon Journey's.

"What? It's the truth! I didn't watch all the way through man! I know who Goh is and that's it!"

"Dude! I finished it within two weeks!"

"How?!"

"It's A good SHOW!"

"Is it on Netflix?"

"Yes!" Lightning and Cruz both answered.

"Bruh, you needa watch more Pokémon before I smack you." he said.

"Yo, chill!"

"It's like Mack bro, he hasn't played FNAF!"

"HOW DOES POKÉMON RELATE TO FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S?!" Cal yelled. Lightning and Cruz were both hysterically laughing by now. Cal wanted to hang up right there.

Lightning then put on It's Been So Long By The Living Tombstone, on his phone.

They were still playing for a few minutes, then a boy around ten years old walked into the room, he wore basketball shorts, a red T-shirt. The boy had short/long dark red hair and blue eyes like his father. He wore a Pikachu tail necklace like his father wore around his neck. He looked at his father's red and white electric guitar he had, sitting on a guitar stand that he had when he was twenty four.

"Dad?" the boy said, Lightning paused the game and set his controller down on the TV stand. He looked and smiled at the young boy standing there.

"Hey, Spark, what's up dude?" he asked. The boy, Spark Andrew McQueen was the son of Lightning. He walked up and hugged his father. "What's up?" Lightning asked.

"Um. Can we go out?"

"Okay." Lightning said. "What do you wanna do?'

"Remember that you were going to buy me a new board when you came back. And your not racing for another week here in Charlotte. So, Can we go out?"

"Sure we can. Let's go now."

Spark's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really! That's awesome! I'll put on my shoes!" The ten year old boy ran out and put on his Vans. Lightning turned off his PlayStation and unmuted the call.

"Hey guys, change of plans, I'm going out with Spark to buy him a new skateboard."

"Uh, what happened to his old one?"

"Someone stole it while we were in LA for vacation."

"WHY?!" Cal asked.

"People are dumb." Lightning said, rolling his eyes. People are idiots sometimes. the man was shocked that it happened to him, he couldn't believe that happened! like, dude, what kind of idiot would steal someone's skateboard?! It doesn't matter, he and his son were going to buy a new one at the skate shop. and he will probably get some new Vans too.

Spark walked out wearing his black and white checkerboard Vans. Lightning ruffled his hair. "Ready to go?" Spark nodded, Lightning grabbed the keys to his Viper and they walked out of the house.

Lightning unlocked the car and he sat inside of it, the Viper's interior is adorned with red leather seats, creating a luxurious and sporty atmosphere. The driver's seat is positioned on the left side of the vehicle, while the passenger seat is located to the right.

The dashboard features an instrument panel with an analog clock and a digital display for the speedometer. There are also multiple buttons and controls throughout the interior, giving the driver control over various functions. A steering wheel can be seen in the center, further emphasizing the car's sporty nature. Spark closed the door to his dad's car.

Lightning turned the car on, the first thing he did was put his phone in the charger, so Apple CarPlay was shown. Spark wanted to pick a song.

"Dad, can I pick a song?"

"Sure, little dude.'' He handed his phone to him and he pressed shuffle on his Apple Music. The song landed on an album by Green Day called American Idiot. Lightning saw the song's name; Boulevard Of Broken Dreams written in white.

They drove off to the skate shop as they were listening to the Green Day track.

They stopped at a small shop with a glass frontage displaying various skateboards and skateboard accessories. There are multiple skateboards displayed in the store, arranged in different positions. A person is standing inside the store, possibly browsing or preparing for a purchase.

In addition to the skateboards, there are several other items on display, such as helmets, which are positioned near the left side of the store. A handbag can also be seen hanging from a hook near the right side. Spark saw his and his dad's favorite skate shop — #THESKATESHOP. It was near their house in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Sprint Cup driver parked his car at the front of the store and they walked inside. A woman with short black hair looked up, she wore a MCR T-Shirt a long striped sleeved black and white shirt under it, She also had pearcings and a beanie.

"Welcome, how can I help you?"

Lightning moved his hair out of his eye and proceeded to speak to the woman.

"Hey, Do you have any smaller decks? my son is getting a new skateboard." Lightning said, looking around the store. He then found the perfect Vans for himself.

"Dad! I found the coolest skateboard! check it out!" he lifted the deck up to show the back. Lightning saw a bright red skateboard back with Sonic the Hedgehog in the middle of it, designed by Phil Niekro. The board features the iconic blue hedgehog in a running pose, with his hands outstretched as if he is flying. The background of the image is a bright red color, all around Sonic were gold rings.

"Dude! that's sick! do you want to get it?" he asked his son. Spark smiled and nodded. Lightning grabbed the Vans off the shelf and they walked to the cashier. Spark and Lightning both set their stuff down and, the woman got some stuff out, such as grip tape and two sets of red wheels to put onto the back of the board.

Lightning watched as she peeled the gip tape and taped it onto the board. she used a small knife to fit it onto it and cut the extra tape. The woman flipped it to the back to cut holes into the board so the wheels can go onto the top and bottom of it. Spark saw the woman putting the wheels on and screwing them in place with a screwdriver. He couldn't wait to ride again!

Lightning put his Vans on the counter, the woman scanned them also. Lightning brought out his Sonic The Hedgehog wallet and pulls out his debit card. Spark wanted to use his board now. He waited for his dad to finish paying, then he can ask.

"Dad?" Spark asked, after he finished paying for his Vans, the woman put them into a bag for him.

"Sup?" he asked, pushing some short/long hair out of his eye again.

"Can we go skating after we go back to the house? I want to ride." Lightning nods — that was a good idea, instead of them being cooped up in the house all day long. They went to the skatepark where they skated.
