A/N: So this story came about due to a discussion in my friend group about what our evil team would be like and I thought why not write a story idea in the same vein. But before we get further let me discuss a few plot related points.
This story takes place two years after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, specifically Scarlet since that's the game I played. Florian will be the main character along with his entire friend group and some romance will be afoot (but between which characters ill keep that secret for now). Despite the Scarlet focus both Paradox Pokemon will appear in this story. I feel that's all that's need to be said for this story for now. Let's dive into this.
The calm yet eerie aura that enveloped the great crater of Paldea was nothing short of both breathtaking and equal parts unsettling. Something about it was simply off, this was truly a paradise untouched by humanity.
A single solitary man was standing watching from atop the cliff, overlooking the striking waterfall crashing down to the deepest depths down below. He imagined what more could be down there, he had heard whispers of stories about the beasts living in this place, known as Area Zero.
The man had no distinguishing features, provided his entire appearance was concealed by a completely crimson robe adorned with a hood covering his face. He stood completely motionless at the top of the mountain. Entering this place was surprisingly easy due to the fact that not even the league seemed to supervise what went in and out of the crater, despite the clear instruction that it was off limits.
Not that it mattered to him what the League thought. Sooner or later it wouldn't matter a thing anymore.
A vehicle suddenly appeared from among the cloud formation shrouding the crater and landed right behind the ledge the man was standing. The circular shaped vehicle opened up and out of it stepped two figured, similarly cloaked but their colored a clear and indistinctive black.
They pulled their hoods back. The first man had long platinum blonde hair and was wearing a pair of stylish, red tinted sunglasses, around his neck was a necklace shaped like the head of a Pawniard. His eyes where unseen behind his colored glasses.
The second man looked very effeminate, his shoulder length brown hair was adorned with a small tiara with a blue gem. His eyes where a piercing green color and he had two Luvdisc shaped earrings on both ears.
"Alastair, Akira. Glad you two could make it" the Crimson cloaked man spoke as he turned to the pair.
"Yo Mr. CK, why did you call us here?" the platinum blonde man known as Alastair spoke to him.
The crimson cloaked man sighed in annoyance, his head down to the ground, his expression unreadable.
"Do you two know what this place is?" he asked them with annoyed tones.
"Uh yeah duh this is that dangerous off limits place with crazy strong Pokémon" Alastair said.
"Yeah no duh smart guy but he probably meant more then just that" Akira said to his partner.
"Well he should've been more clearer obviously" Alastair countered.
"He was more than clear enough."
From there on the pair had devolved into a shouting match that lasted for a good minute as they where talking over each other and arguing semantics. That was until.
"WILL YOU TWO BE QUIET!"
In an instant the bickering had come to a stop and the two black robed men where instead turned to the other one and stood there quietly in a position akin to a soldier.
The crimson cloaked man turned his back to them and again began overlooking the scenery before him. "This place is an oasis of undiscovered power and potential. Books have been written about the mysteries of Area Zero, some written by the esteemed Professor Sada. This place is from where we will enact our plan."
Alastair and Akira shot each other an incredulous look before the former slowly stepped forward.
"Uhm Mr…Mr. Boss man, bro…uhm…what exactly does this place have to do with our goals" he asked carefully.
Again the man in crimson sighed and turned his hooded face back to the pair.
"Clearly you have not been paying attention as per usual" he said ominously.
"Well to be fair boss you know what we are. We aren't known as the Chaos Twins for nothing" Akira pointed.
The man simply turned around without saying another word and Alastair stepped backwards to join Akira. It was dead silent, and the pair now noticed it for the first time. Area Zero gave off an ominous eerie yet also intriguing vibe, and the ambient silence that was felt throughout the place.
"No matter," the man in Crimson spoke "regardless you two are only here to get a feel for the place. For your assignment, you are to go to Kitakami and investigate the famous Crystal Pool there."
The pair gave each other a concerned look.
Alastair started "But sir. They don't let outsiders anywhere near that place. How are we supposed to…."
"You will find a way," the man interrupted "and you are not to return until you get access to that place. Is that clear."
"Yes sir!" the pair saluted before they turned around to return to the nearby vehicle taking them back up the surface. The crimson cloaked man stayed behind and began to walk down the mountain slope, observing the surroundings.
"What secrets did you keep Professor Sada…" he spoke ominously as he walked deeper into Area Zero.
