"No way." I say surprised.
"Yup, Sukuna's vessel in the flesh." Satoru says.
Satoru teleported both of us to the solitary room. The same one Yuta Okkotsu was kept in last year. He's chained up and hasn't woken up yet. He's a kid. He seems strong, but he has to be around Megumi's age.
"What happened?" I ask him.
"When Megumi went to retrieve the finger, I guess the kid ate it." He tells me.
"Just off the rip? Man that's so weird." I tell him.
"No no, Megumi revealed that's what curses do to gain power and I guess the kid wanted that power too." He says smirking.
I sigh and rub my face tiredly, "so what now?"
"Well, the higher ups want him executed, but I have a better plan. What if we feed him all of Sukuna's fingers first?" He asks.
"What? Satoru, why the hell would we do that?" I ask him.
"Because then, if he has consumed all of Sukuna's fingers and then he's killed, Sukuna will be gone forever." He tells me.
"Or not. The chances of that boy being able to control Sukuna are so slim. Satoru, this could kill us all." I tell him seriously.
"Well I wouldn't say that. It'd be a challenge for me sure, but i'd still win." He tells me confidently.
"And how do you know that for sure? Satoru, no one will ever be close to as powerful as you with cursed energy other than Sukuna probably. If he is released for good, we're dead." I tell him.
"Unless the kid can control him. I happen to think he can." He says.
I sigh, "I can't fully be on board with this. Not with you and our son in the cross fire."
He grabs both of my hands and looks at me through his blindfold, "trust me okay? I have faith in the kid. Vessels are extremely rare, and if he's around now then it has to be for a good reason."
He teleports us to our apartment as we still hold hands, "Don't worry about Niko either. I swear this to you, that I will never let anyone lay a finger on our son." He says seriously and protectively.
He pulls me in for a hug and I hold him tightly, "this will make the world a better place for him. I promise." He tells me.
I don't like this, not one bit. I just can't imagine this kid being able to control Sukuna. Even if he's able to control him, it still feels wrong to put him through it. We've never had this happen before, and it's going to be extremely hard to navigate. But if Satoru has faith, then I will too.
I bury my head in his chest and sigh, "okay. I trust you."
He kisses the top of my head and we stand there holding each other for a minute, "he's about to wake up soon. I have to be there when he wakes up. I'll be home by dinner okay?" He says.
I nod, "okay, I'm going to go check on Megumi." I tell him.
He kisses me gently and places his forehead on mine, "I love you both more than you'll ever know."
I smirk and kiss him again, "and well love you too."
And just like that, he stands and vanishes into thin air. He never ceases to amaze me with that party trick. I leave the apartment and lock the door heading to Megumi's room. When I get there and knock on his door, he sighs and I hear him stomping to open it.
"What?" He says probably expecting Satoru.
"Hey, just wanted to check on you. See how you were feeling." I tell him.
"Oh, hey Naomi. I'm doing fine. Wanna come sit down for a minute?" He asks.
I sigh with relief, "yeah, that'd be great. I'm finding I need to take more breaks now. The baby's getting heavy." I tell him.
I walk into his room and keep the door open. His room is very neat and organized. Much different than any other boy his age.
"Want a water?" He asks.
"No i'm okay. Thank you." I tell him. He's very grown for his age. Still naive sure, but I find myself surprised by him every now and again.
"How are you feeling?" I ask him.
"Better. Just glad Itadori is okay." He says looking away.
"Itadori huh? So that's his name." I say.
"Yeah, Yugi Itadori. He's a year younger than me." He tells me.
"Well, what do you make of him?" I ask him.
He sighs, conflicted by the situation as well, "I think he's a good guy. He seems to have his mind of the right things."
"And what's that?" I ask him.
"Saving people." He says simply.
I nod my head, "and you think he can control Sukuna?" I ask him.
He sighs, "that is what I don't know. I think he's strong don't get me wrong, but I think he still has a long way to go."
"I agree. While I'm not fond of the idea to keep him around, it does seem like the best option would be to monitor him and see if we can eliminate Sukuna once and for all." I say.
"I just hope it doesn't cost good lives." He tells me.
I nod, "me either."
We sit in silence for a moment before he looks over to me, "heard there was another first year we're getting too." He says.
I nod, "yup, Nobara Kugisaki."
"Is she good?" He asks.
"She's got some knowledge and experience. She starts in two days." I tell him.
"So, what's her strength?" He asks.
"She has an innate technique that allows her to use a cursed set of hammer and nails that pierce her enemies and damaging them. She's ranked grade three." I tell him.
"Seems powerful." He says.
I nod, "we'll see. Satoru wants to evaluate her first." I tell him.
"Will Itadori be attending school as well?" He asks.
I sigh, "that is yet to be seen. I'm not sure what we will do with him. That's if he wants to remain alive."
He nods.
"Well, I better get home. Get some rest kiddo. You're gonna need it to get better." I tell him.
"Thanks Naomi."
I stand up and leave his room, closing the door on my way out.
Yugi Itadori, Sukuna's vessel. I'm unsure of how this will all play out, and if it were up to me I'd be very hesitant to keep him around. But I trust Satoru. If he thinks he can be useful, then I'll back him up. Plus it'll be good for Megumi to have a friend at the very least. I'm sure it's lame to hang out with us all the time. I just hope this doesn't go south, for the sake of not just everyone, but our little family too.
