AN: I hoped to get out Vongola explanation in one go, but my muse decided otherwise. Also, I'm no expert on Japanese history, so sorry for any mistakes. Other than that, I hope you will like this.

Also, warning for Jujutsu Society being themselves.

"What is with him to the EXTREME?!"

"He's in shock, turf top, duh."

"Ara, he looks stupid."

"Lambo!"

"What? It's true!"

"That's still a mean thing to say!"

"A bit disappointing, really. He faces Curses daily, is praised as the Strongest, and yet is stunned by a simple ghost, kufufu."

"Mukuro-sama, that's not nice!"

"I'm not nice, dear Chrome. Serves him right for daring to be your idol."

"Oh? You're jealous, pineapple head? I already like him."

"Of course you do, skylark. You like strong opponents and those that do not like me."

"Give him a break, guys. He's not used to our kind of crazy. Plus, how would you have reacted if you had seen a person that is identical to me?"

"Takeshi-kun's right, everyone, hahi!"

"You heard the girls, you lot. Snap him out of it, Tsuna."

"Already on it."

All these words come to him as if through water. As soon as the last ones were spoken, Satoru feels something come in contact with his Infinity — not pushing, just being here. That presence is what snaps him out of his stupor, and he blinks several times to bring his mind back into focus. It helps as he no longer feels underwater.

"Satoru?" Tsuna calls worriedly, her hand touching his Infinity. Compared to when the others touch it, Tsuna's touch is warm due to her bubble of Flames. It's nice and calming. "You okay?"

"Yeah," Satoru shakes his head, throwing off the remnants of his stupor. He sees how worried the others are — well, except Rokudo, who is amused; the bastard, Hibari, who looks almost bored, Lambo, who sniggers at his plight, and Reborn, who looks calculating — that he jokes to lighten the atmosphere. "Just, you know, wondering if I have gone bonkers. All Jujutsu sorcerers are crazy to some extent, but I'm the first one to see a real ghost. Or hallucination. Which one is it, by the way?"

Tsuna sighs at his self-depreciation, but Satoru catches her lips twitching as she stops touching his Infinity, and he almost mourns the loss. Almost. Kyoko and Haru let out a breath of relief, along with Chrome and I-Pin. Gokudera scoffs just like Hibari, Mukuro, and Lambo get their amusement under control. Reborn doesn't say anything, but he notices a small smile disappearing behind that fedora. Takeshi, for his part — along with his double — appears sheepish, which he should! It's his doppelganger that got Satoru questioning his sanity, hah!

But other than that his attempt at lightening the mood has worked. Go him!

"Don't worry, he's no hallucination," Tsuna's assurement brings back to reality. "He's more like a ghost."

"Seeing ghosts isn't exactly sane either," he points out with a quirk of lips.

"Well, good thing you're jujutsu sorcerer and already crazy then," the brunette shoots back easily. "I did warn you my kind of truth is dangerous, didn't I?"

"You did," he confirms, stretching his lips in a huge grin."But I never listened to warnings, so why start now?"

Anticipation ran through his nerves. Forget cursing Fushiguro Toji. This is so much better and more interesting than that bastard. And it's good to know he hasn't completely lost it.

Sorry, not sorry, Sorcerer Killer, this isn't about you anymore.

"I figured you might say that," Tsuna replies with a snort before turning to the ghost, who was still here and watching them bickering with amusement. "Surprised you appeared, Asari-san. You mostly hang out with Takeshi."

"Apologies for that, Setsuna-san," he says sincerely, then bows to Satoru. "You too, Gojo-dono. I heard your conversation about jujutsu and couldn't help but comment."

"It's fine," Satoru assures somewhat awkwardly. How do you speak to a ghost, anyway? He was, admittedly, out of his depth. That was a new feeling. "Uh, Asari-san, right?"

"That's right," the ghost says with a smile, furthering his likeness to Yayamoto as their smiles were the same – soothing and kind. It makes Satoru relax despite the… strangeness of encountering the ghost. "Asari Ugetsu, Rain Guardian to Vongola Primo. It's a pleasure to meet Six Eyes."

"Nice to meet you too, I guess. And Rain Guardian? Vongola Primo?" Satoru parrots. Italian again. And he heard about Vongola before, but Rain Guardian? That's new.

"We'll explain soon," Takeshi promises before a frown mars his features. "Ugetsu-san, you called Gojo by his title like Mukuro did. Does that mean—"

"Yes," Asari answers solemnly. The smile left his face. "I was part of Jujutsu society before I joined Vongola."

The revelation leaves everyone stunned, Satoru included, as they stare at Asari in shock.

Say what? This is the first time Satoru has heard this name. Must be a really minor clan, or it was wiped out due to the heir being unfit. Or myriad other reasons, but the fact remained: there was no record of Asari Ugetsu in Jujutsu history.

"Were you a jujutsu sorcerer then?" Gokudera is the first to recover from the shock and ask the important question. The others, also await the response.

"Oh no," Asari refutes with a laugh. "I wasn't. I was the disappointment to my clan."

"But why?" Kyoko utters in confusion and disbelief. "I mean, you're an amazing swordsman and everything!"

"Because he didn't have Cursed Energy," Satoru replies instead, meeting the ghost's melancholic expression. There is no other answer, and they both know it firsthand. "That would explain why I'm unfamiliar with his name, as I was made to memorize all clans. Asari wasn't among them."

Asari nods, confirming the words."Gojo-dono is correct. Cursed Energy is everything to Jujutsu society, at least in my day. Are they still the same?"

"Yep. Still all high and mighty, with those without Cursed Energy being less than dirt," Satoru says with derision. Those scums are the same, no matter the era. And those with heart getting broken beyond recognition or dead. Like Suguru and Haibara.

His hands curl into fists at the thought, which earns him worried or suspicious glances, but thankfully they don't comment, as the current topic takes precedence. He forces himself to relax.

"Are saying," Haru speaks up slowly, "that because Asari-san was born with Flames instead of this… energy, he was a disappointment?!"

"Pretty much," Asari agrees with a hum. There's no resignation or self-hate on his face; the man accepted his situation a long time ago, but seemed to be touched that the teenagers were upset on his behalf.

Must be nice to be that close even if you are dead and a ghost.

"That's stupid," she declares with a huff.

"Disgusting is more like, "Hibari adds with a sneer. "There's more to strength than Flames or Cursed Energy. A person's willpower is what matters."

"Seems these higher-ups come not far from the Alliance," Rokudo comments.

"Bastards," Gokudera sums up. A crude but apt description, Satoru notes with a chuckle as others agree. "So, what happened next?"

"As Gojo-dono said," Asari moves to sit down beside Takeshi, and Satoru notes that the man doesn't pass through flesh as he bumps shoulders with Yamamoto and ruffles Lambo's hair. What an unusual ghost, "due to not having Cursed Energy, I was erased from the records and deemed unfit as an heir," Asari gives them a sardonic smile. "Which threw them in a bind since our clan was minor and had no direct heirs besides myself. But them, dying out, paled in comparison to the shame of having a monkey son."

"But they didn't do anything horrible, did they?" Chrome wonders anxiously. They did not talk about it, but Satoru has eyes; he knows the signs of parental negligence, and he knows that fear, along with concern for Asari, prompts her to ask this.

"No, Chrome-san, they didn't do anything," Asari assures the girl softly. His eyes gain a faraway look as he recalls his past. "I was invisible to them, but they fed and kept the roof over my head. They allowed me to pursue music and the art of swordsmanship. It was more than I could ask for after falling filial duty."

"And then, you met Grandpa," Tsuna adds, certain.

Asari's expression fills with warmth. "And then, I have met Primo, yes. At the time he sent that letter asking for help, Jujutsu society was in upheaval, so I had no trouble leaving for Italy."

"Why they were in upheaval to the EXTREME?" Ryohei asked.

"Duel gone wrong," Asari replies. "A Six Eyes and Limitless user like Gojo-dono and Ten Shadows user from the Zenin Clan killed each other. You can imagine the scandal, so nobody bothered with me leaving."

"So you're from the Keicho era," Satoru states. "They killed themselves somewhere between the Keicho and Edo period. It's quite confusing since Keicho ended in 1615, but Edo started in 1603."

"You know your history quite well," Asari compliments him. Satoru snorts.

"Comes with being another Six Eyes Sorcerer in four hundred years," he waves it off, more interested in another part of the story. "Never mind that, what did you do next?"

"Found my family, of course," Asari informs him with a small laugh. "Giotto and others were very accepting."

"Could any of them see Curses?"

"None," Asari says with a shake of his head. "Though, Talbot was curious how Flames and Cursed Energy would interact together."

"And that's when it was discovered that Flame users don't have Cursed Energy and vice versa?" Reborn as always cuts to the heart of the matter. "Did he tell you why?"

"Time out, "Satoru jumps in. "Before you start the scientific talk, explain your Flames to me."

"Tsuna?" Reborn says with a single glance at his student. She sighs, understanding at once what he wants.

"I got it," Setsuna says before starting to explain. "These Flames are called Dying Will Flames; strictly speaking, they are a manifestation of our resolve."

"Resolve?"

"Yes," Tsuna nods. "Something you strongly believe in. They run on negative emotions as well, but's a short-term solution, and there's a risk of burning out."

"Do other people have them?"

"Yes, all have them, except jujutsu sorcerers," this time it's Reborn who responds. "But only some people can unlock them, and even fewer reach their full potential."

"There are also various kinds and abilities, but we get into that soon," Tsuna promises."Following so far?"

"Who do you take me for? Of course, I follow," Satoru scoffs at her playfully, and she rolls her eyes in return. "Back to the science-history lesson. What did your Talbot find out?"

"He found out that since Flames run on resolve and it's a positive feeling, and Cursed Energy is negativity, "Asari resumes his explanation, visibly suppressing his mirth at their antics, "they cancel each other out."

"Shouldn't they move towards each other like magnets?" Hayato asks, a calculating look in his eye. "Since they are both positive and negative."

"Normally, that would be the case, according to Talbot," Asari confirms. "But Flames see Cursed Energy as a threat and burn it out of the body. Unfortunately, we couldn't discover more since sorcerers are secretive and few and far between, even in Italy, and my knowledge in that area is limited," the man shrugs apologetically.

"That's more than we hoped for," Tsuna tells him soothingly. "Thank you, Asari-san for the story and explanations. I'm sorry you were treated that way."

"It was a long time ago. I've accepted it, but thank you, "Asari stands up. "I'll leave you be. Welcome to the family, Gojo Satoru."

"Uh, thanks?" Satoru says with a tilt of his head, not sure how to react. Asari was a nice guy for a ghost, but he didn't know how to act around the guy yet.

And he has the feeling he better get used to this occurrence.

Asari merely smiles at his confusion and leaves the way he appeared — in a burst of blue Flame.

"Is that gonna be a regular thing?" he asks Tsuna, pointing to where Asari stood a moment ago. "Weird guys from old eras popping out of nowhere?"

"Probably, if they are bored enough," she says with a shrug. Yep. His intuition was right — better start getting used to this thing. "You can turn around if you want."

He gives her a flat look, lowering his glasses so she could see it. "Setsuna-chan, I just met the guy who lived during the infamous Gojo vs Zenin showdown. Bit late for backing off."

"You're right," she agrees. He knows this is the moment of truth for her and is proved right a second later when she asks: "Have you heard about Vongola?"

Well, isn't this a day of strange questions and revelations?
