Frost Cavern
The group returned to Dendemille Town on their flying Pokemon. Upon arrival, they went straight to the Pokemon Center to get out of the cold. Nazz went to the Pokemon Center's PC to swap her Skitty for her Corsola; afterward, Nazz, along with the others gave the nurse their Pokemon.
Kevin and Rolf went to the PokeMart where Kevin sold his Big Pearl for 3,750 pokedollars. He then takes out the gray rock he found and shows it to the clerk.
"Excuse me, man, but do you know what this is?" asked Kevin.
"That's a Hard Stone; it powers up the Rock Type moves of the Pokemon holding it." replied the clerk.
"Awesome. I'm definitely going to have Tyrantrum hold on to it." said Kevin. He walks away from the checkout counter and Rolf walks to it while pulling out the red, four pointed rock he found.
"Shop keep; do you know what this is?" asked Rolf, showing the red stone to the clerk.
"That's a Star Piece; those can be sold for 4,900 pokedollars." replied the clerk.
"Son of a gun! Rolf will sell this Star Piece then." said Rolf. He gives the clerk the Star Piece and he gives Rolf pokedollars. After that, the group had lunch; soon after, they picked up their Pokemon. Nazz takes the time to let out her Corsola and give her the Sea Incense she bought in Coumarine City; Nazz also takes the time to use the Surf HM on Corsola also. Kevin lets out his Tyrantrum to give him the Hard Stone. After returning their Pokemon to their pokeballs, they put on the winter attire they bought. The group left the Pokemon Center soon after.
"Hello." a familiar voice calls out to them. The group looked to see Professor Sycamore and Dexio walking to them.
"Hey, it's Professor Sycamore." said Jonny.
"And Dexio too." said Nazz.
"How have you all been?" asked Dexio.
"Well, if it wasn't for this winter gear we're wearing, we'd be freezing." said Kevin.
"Yes, it is cold here." said Professor Sycamore. He then reaches into a black satchel he was carrying and pulls out a tablet; he begins typing on it. "Jonny; did you actually catch an Articuno?" He shows the group the tablet, showing an image of the Pokemon Jonny caught, now identified as an Articuno.
"Yeah, why?" asked Jonny.
"Are you aware Articunos are really rare?" asked Professor Sycamore.
"Really?" replied Jonny.
"Yes. You are very fortunate to not only find one, but capture it as well." said Professor Sycamore.
"That Articuno was pretty strong; good thing I had a Master Ball." said Jonny.
"Where did you get one?" asked Professor Sycamore.
The group explained to Professor Sycamore the situation with Team Flare and the Pokeball Factory, as well as the president of the factory reward each of them a Master Ball.
"Well, I'm glad you all were able to put a stop to Team Flare; and it was nice of the president to reward you with Master Balls." said Professor Sycamore.
"I hope something is done to put an end to Team Flare." said Dexio.
"Yeah; those dorks are getting on my nerves." said Kevin. "Hey, Jonny; you plan on battling with that Articuno."
"No way. I wouldn't want my Pokemon battles to be too easy if I used Articuno." said Jonny. "Also, I like training Pokemon and making them strong."
"That's the spirit, Jonny." said Professor Sycamore. "It's a trainer's duty to bring out the best in their Pokemon."
"Thanks, Professor." said Jonny.
"I wonder if the Eds liked doing it too." said Nazz.
"We can ask them if we get the chance." said Kevin.
"By the way, have you ever heard of the legendary Pokemon, Yveltal?" asked Professor Sycamore.
"No, can't say that we have." said Nazz.
"Well, it is the legendary Pokemon of the Kalos Region." said Professor Sycamore. "It is said that those who saw it were so overwhelmed by its power they were only able to say that this Pokemon resembled the letter Y. Apparently, this Pokemon is able to absorb energy."
"Really?" asked Nazz.
"Yes; It's life span is said to reach one thousand years." said Professor Sycamore.
"Cool!" said Jonny.
"When it reaches the end of its life, it steals all the spirits around it." said Professor Sycamore.
"Where do yo suppose this Pokemon is now?" Dexio asked.
"It is said when Kalos' legendery Pokemon loses all of its vitality, it goes to sleep in a secret place." said Professor Sycamore. "However, I haven't a clue of where this place is. The writing that mentions it is so old, so they aren't much help."
"It would be astounding if someone found it." said Dexio.
"It would be so rad." said Kevin.
"I hope to see this Pokemon someday." said Nazz.
"I'll look into the legend for a bit to see if I can find something." said Dexio.
"It would be a thrill if someone found it." said Professor Sycamore.
"Totally." said Kevin.
"So; what are you all going to do now?" asked Professor Sycamore.
"We're going to Anistar City to take on the gym there." replied Nazz.
"Probably going to catch some more Pokemon on the way." said Jonny.
"Rolf hopes to battle trainers along the way to train his Pokemon." said Rolf.
"Me, too." said Jonny.
"Same here." said Kevin.
"Well, if you are looking for trainers to battle, then you should go to Frost Cavern, which is north of here." said Professor Sycamore.
"And you know, I've heard that some people dressed in red suits went into the cavern." said Dexio.
"Those Team Flare dorks again?!" exclaimed Kevin.
"Apparently, but that is what I heard?" said Dexio.
"Come on, guys; let's check it out." said Kevin.
"But what about the Anistar City gym?" asked Nazz.
"It can wait." said Kevin.
"Okay. I guess with Team Flare on my mind right now, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my gym battle." said Nazz.
"Me, neither." said Jonny.
"Let's take care to these Team Flare ducks." said Rolf.
"Dorks, Rolf." said Kevin.
"Be careful, kids." said Professor Sycamore.
"We will." said Kevin. The group parted ways with Professor Sycamore and Dexio and began heading north of Dendemille Town. Upon exiting Dendemille Town, they saw the area was blanketed in snow.
"Wow; it looks so pretty." said Nazz. The group began to walk down a path up north. As they do, they hear something approaching them; they look to see a Pokemon that resembled an ice cream cone. "What's that?" Nazz takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Vanillite, the Fresh Snow Pokemon. This Pokémon formed from icicles bathed in energy from the morning sun. It sleeps buried in snow." said the pokedex. Nazz pulls a pokeball out of her pocket.
"This would be a good time to see how I do with my new Corsola." said Nazz. "Go, Corsola!" She throws Corsola's pokeball and releases her. "Corsola, Rock Blast!" Three light blue rings form around Corsola and they turned into glowing white rocks; Corsola then launches them at Vanillite and they hit it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. Nazz takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Vanillite; it hits Vanillite and sucks it in. After it wiggled around, it clicks, indicating Vanillite's chapter.
"Awesome! I caught Vanillite!" said Nazz.
"Way to go, Nazz!" said Kevin. Vanillite's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Nazz takes out the pokedex.
"This says Vanillite's a boy, he knows Icicle Spear, Harden, Astonish, Uproar, Icy Wind, Mist, and Avalanche; he has the Ice Body ability, which restores some of his energy when it's hailing." said Nazz.
After returning Corsola to her pokeball, the group continued walking; almost half an hour later, they reached a cave at the end of the path they were walking on.
"You think this is Frost Cavern?" asked Jonny. Kevin looked inside the cave to see it looked frosty in every part of the cave.
"Looks pretty frosty to me." said Kevin. The group then enter the cave. As they were walking through the cave, Rolf suddenly slips and fell on his butt.
"Rolf has hurt his keester." said Rolf. Kevin looks to see most of the cave floor was icy.
"Careful, everyone; it's icy here." said Kevin. Nazz suddenly runs forward and slides down on the ice until she presses her hands agasinst a cave wall to stop herself.
"Come on, guys; this is way quicker than walking." said Nazz. After Rolf stands back up, the boys slide down on the ice until they reached where Nazz was. They see an entrance that had stairs going upward.
"Why are there stairs in a cave?" asked Jonny.
"You think Team Flare made them?" asked Nazz.
"Probably." replied Kevin. They walk to the entrance and walked up the stairs and entered another large cavern with icy floors. As they observed the area, Kevin sees a Pokemon that looked like a chunk of ice. "Hey; what's that?" Nazz points the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Bergmite, the Ice Chunk Pokemon. Using air of -150 degrees Fahrenheit, they freeze opponents solid. They live in herds above the snow line on mountains." said the pokedex.
"I guess I might as well catch this one." said Kevin as he pulls out a pokeball. "Golett, go!" He throws Golett's pokeball and releases it. "Golett, Mega Punch!" Golett's hand glows white and it punches Bergmite, knocking it back and it crashes into a wall. Bergmite gets up and forms a ball of ice in front of it; it launches the ball of ice at Golett, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage to it.
"Golett, use Shadow Punch!" said Kevin. Golett brings back his arm and black and purple energy form around it; it brings its arm forward and unleashes a black and purple fist of energy; it hits Bergmite, and knocks it to the ground. Kevin takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Bergmite; it hits Bergmite and sucks it in. After it wiggled for a few seconds, it clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"Awesome. I caught Bergmite." said Kevin.
"Way to go, Kevin." said Nazz. Bergmite's pokeball is then transported to storage.
"You were great, Golett." said Kevin. Golett suddenly freezes up and begins to glow. "Check it out; Golett's evolving." Everyone watches as Golett began to grow; when the glowing stopped, Golett was now bigger, it had a large crack on its chest that was patched by a brown belt, and it had brown bangles around its wrists, and its legs were longer and had brown bangles around its ankles. Nazz points the pokedex at Kevin's newly evolved Golett.
"Golurk, the Automaton Pokemon, and the evolved form of Golett. It flies across the sky at Mach speeds. Removing the seal on its chest makes its internal energy go out of control." said the pokedex.
"Rolf congratulates Kevin." said Rolf.
"And according to the pokedex; Golurk now knows Heavy Slam." said Nazz. "This also says your new Bergmite's a girl, she knows Tackle, Bite, Harden, Powder Snow, Icy Wind, Take Down, Sharpen, Curse, Ice Fang, Ice Ball, Rapid Spin, and Avalanche; and she has the Icy Body ability just like my new Vanillite."
"That is so awesome!" said Kevin. After returning Golurk to its pokeball, the group continued walking across the icy cave floor, being careful not to slip. They soon came across another entrance that had a stairway going downward and they went down them and soon found themselves in another cavern; upon entering, they see another stairway going upward another cave entrance.
Once entering it, they saw two Team Flare members and a blue haired woman with teal blue oval shaped pigtails, wearing blue, high tech glasses over her eyes and teal blue lipstick, a red and white, long sleeved shirt and red shoulder pads, red and black skirt with short red tights underneath, and tall, red and black, high heeled boots. They were standing in front of a large, white Pokemon with green hands and feet.
"This Abomasnow is a fine speciman; it's brimming with energy." said the blue-haired woman. "The more we agitate it, the stronger its Snow Warning ability becomes, making the snow fall even more furiously. We should catch it swiftly and get out of here."
"Hold it right there!" shouts Kevin, getting the Team Flare members' attention.
"What are you doing?!" asked Jonny.
"We're catching this Pokemon; what does it look like we're doing?" asked the blue-haired woman.
"Why are you dorks always causing trouble?" asked Kevin.
"We do all this so we, Team Flare, can survive." said the blue-haired woman.
"What?" replied Nazz.
"Anyway, we don't have time to deal with a bunch of kids." said the blue-haired woman. She then looks at one of the grunts. "Take care of these brats."
"Yes, ma'am." said the Team Flare grunt as she steps forward.
"Who wants to battle this one?" asked Kevin.
"Let me do it!" said Jonny as he steps forward.
"Go for it, dude." said Kevin. Jonny and the Team Flare member each pull a pokeball out of their pocket.
"Golbat, go!" said the Team Flare member, throwing the pokeball and releasing a Golbat.
"Go, Linoone!" said Jonny, throwing Linoone's pokeball and releasing him. "Linoone, Tail Whip!" Linoone runs at Golbat and wags his tail onto it, weakening its defense.
"Golbat, Poison Fang!" said the Team Flare member. Golbat's fangs glowed purple and it bites onto Linoone, hurting him. Fortunately, it didn't poison Linoone.
"Linoone, Headbutt!" said Jonny. Linoone runs at Golbat and rams his head into it, doing more damage due to its defense being weakened, and making it flinch. "Now use Covet!" Linoone leaps up at Golbat and smacks it with his paw.
"Wing Attack!" said the Team Flare member. Golbat flies at Linoone and strikes it with its wing, knocking it to the ground.
"Fury Swipes!" said Jonny. Linoone repeatedly scratches Golbat with his claws, knocking it out.
"No, Golbat!" said the Team Flare member.
"Way to go, Linoone!" said Jonny.
"Linoone!" cheered Linoone. The Team Flare member returned Golbat to its pokeball; she puts the pokeball away and pulls out another one.
"Manectric, go!" said the Team Flare member, throwing the pokeball and releasing a light blue, canine-like Pokemon with a spiky yellow mane on its head and tufts of yellow fur around its front ankes and its upper thighs.
"What's that?" asked Nazz as she takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Manectric, the Discharge Pokemon, and the evolved form of Electrike. It discharges electricity from its mane. It creates a thundercloud overhead to drop lightning bolts." said the pokedex.
Jonny sees Linoone breathing heavily and returns him to his pokeball; then pulls out another one.
"Krookodile, go!" said Jonny, throwing Krookodile's pokeball and releasing her.
"Manectric, Quick Attack!" said the Team Flare member. Manectric charges at Krookodile with incredible speed and rams her, knocking her back.
"Use Dig!" said Jonny. Krookodile digs into the ground. Manectric looks around when Krookodile bursts out of the cave floor and rams into Manectric, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Manectric, use Bite!" said the Team Flare member. Manectric runs to Krookodile and bites her, but not dealing much damage to her, but still making her flinch. "Now use Quick Attack!" Manectric charges at Krookodile and rams her, making her stumble back.
"Use Crunch!" said Jonny. Krookodile runs at Manectric and bites it, dealing damage, and weakening Manectric's special defense strength.
"Tackle!" said the Team Flare member. Manectric runs at Krookodile and rams her.
"Mud-Slap!" said Jonny. Krookodile sprays a stream of mud out of her mouth and it hits Manectric, knocking it out. "You did it, Krookodile!" Krookodile gives Jonny a thumbs up.
"Great job, Jonny!" said Nazz.
"You showed her!" said Kevin. The Team Flare member returns Manectric to its pokeball. After giving Jonny pokedollars, she walks back to the other Team Flare member and the blue haired woman.
"Do I have to do everything myself?!" shouts the blue-haired woman. She steps forward and takes a pokeball off her waist and throws it, releasing a Houndoom.
"Let Rolf handle this one!" said Rolf as he steps forward, takes out a pokeball from his pocket and throws it, releasing his Blastoise. Seeing an opportunity to try out Z-Ring, he touches it, making energy flare up from him and Blastoise that connect to each other; Blastoise glows brightly as it transforms; when he finished, his head was wider, his shell was bigger with a very large cannon barrel coming out of it, and on each of his wrist were small shells that had cannon barrels coming out of them.
"Wow!" said Jonny. "Mega Blastoise looks cool!"
"He looks hardcore!" said Kevin.
"It doesn't matter if you did Mega Evolve your Pokemon; I'll still crush you!" said the blue-haired woman. "Houndoom, use Thunder Fang!" Houndoom's fangs become coated in electricity as it runs over to Mega Blastoise and bites him, doing super effective damage.
"Mega Blastoise, use Water Pulse!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise bends over and points his main shell's cannon barrel at the Houndoom and fires off a powerful shockwave of water out of it that hits Houndoom, doing super effective damage.
"Wow! That move looked stronger than usual!" said Jonny.
"Mega Blastoise's ability is Mega Launcher, Jonny the Wood Boy." said Rolf. "It makes his Aura and Pulse moves stronger."
"That's awesome!" said Nazz. Houndoom starts to stagger around all dizzy. "And it looks like it also made that Houndoom confused."
"Houndoom, use Thunder Fang again!" said the blue-haired woman. Houndoom tries to do so, but in its confused state, it runs into a cavern wall and hurts itself.
"Mega Blastoise, use Skull Bash!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise bends over and starts gathering strength in his legs.
"Houndoom, hurry and use Thunder Fang!" said the blue-haired woman. Houndoom manages to snap out of confusion, runs towards Mega Blastoise, and bites him. Then all of a sudden, Mega Blastoise propels himself headfirst at Houndoom and slams into it, sending it flying into a cavern wall, and knocks it out.
"Impossible!" shouts the blue-haired woman.
"Not really since he did do it!" said Kevin. The blue-haired woman growls before tossing pokedollars to Rolf and returns her Houndoom to its pokeball.
"I won't forget this!" said the blue-haired woman before she and the Team Flare grunts run past the kids and exit the cavern.
"Dorks!" Kevin shouts at them. Mega Blastoise then returns to his normal state.
"Mega Blastoise was quite powerful!" said Rolf.
"You got that right!" said Jonny.
"What is with those Team Flare guys?" asked Nazz.
"Don't know; but we have other things to do." said Kevin.
"Yeah, we have gym battles to get ready for!" said Jonny.
"Yes, Rolf also wants to have his gym battle." said Rolf.
"Then let's get out of this cavern." said Kevin. The kids exit the cavern and start heading back to Dendemille Town where they hope to earn their next gym badges.
