Madison slowly opened her eyes after everything went bright and then it faded. The memory came back to her as she remembered a creature just took her away and came to another world. She felt like she has been sleeping for hours or wasn't sure why she fall asleep at an early hour. She blinked her a few times and then looked around.
She was at a lake. A big lake with a castle that's all in ruins. Though the castle looked familiar especially how the moon was close to it as it was about to rise up. She then looked at the trees as they in animated color but as she looked at the ruined castle again, it finally hit her. She now realized where she was now.
'I'm... I'm at Swan Lake. In the movie of The Swan Princess. And that creature... could that possibly be...'
There were so many thoughts that were in her head but knew what the answers were. Suddenly she felt so weird like there was something wrong with her neck. She starts touching her neck but her hand felt weird.
As she decided to look at her hand, something really shocked her. Her hand didn't looked human at all. It was covered with feathers.
'No! No, it can't be!'
Madison slowly looked at herself at the reflection of the water and then... she let out a gasp that she almost screamed. Her whole face was so different. All feathery with a beak and her neck is really long.
'I'm... I'm a swan!' she thought.
Madison touched her beak with her feather wing all the down to her neck but then she noticed something. When she touched her feathery chest, she realized what was missing.
'My necklace! It's gone! W-Where is it?!' she thought as she looked around until a memory hit.
Just when she was taken by the creature, Alex tries to reach for her until he somehow grabbed the necklace.
'Alex... He has my necklace. Oh! It better be with him because I really don't want...'
Suddenly, something hit her head. Madison looked to see a piece of bread crumb floating on the water. She turned and to her shock as she saw the villain himself. Rothbart and with him was the old woman that she hangs around with, or Bridgette as Madison remembered the name in the other sequels, but as she looked at the other way she saw another swan.
It was her. The Swan Princess herself: Odette. All sad and heartbroken as Madison remembered that Rothbart kidnapped Odette as he killed her father. The princess looked at Madison for a moment until the two heard Rothbart started to speak.
"Now don't let my little spell make you sad, Odette. It doesn't even last the whole day. As soon as the moon comes up." he spoke as he pointed at the moon.
The swans looked up at the moon and looked down at the reflection from the lake as it was glowing around them.
The two stood close together as the colorful water starts rising around them, grew larger and larger. Madison's eyes were closed as she felt the warmth of the magic as the light were around her and Odette. But as the water fell down, Madison looked at herself to see that she was back to her human self only her attire is different. Instead of her modern clothes, it was a dress. It was white but it shimmers iridescent as the moonlight hits it and her skirt has so many ruffles that looked like swan feathers. Madison then looked at Odette as she was human as well. She was beautiful up close but yet the sad and anger were in her eyes.
Once the princess starts walking up to the surface and Madison followed, they both heard Rothbart continued to speak.
"And that's how it works, every night." he said. "You two have to be on the lake, of course, and when the moonlight touches your wings…"
Odette and Madison turned their heads to face the dark wizard as they heard the word but the princess just frowned at him.
"Now look Odette, this sort of thing doesn't give me any pleasure. Well, maybe a teensy bit. But what I really want is… Is your father's kingdom."
"Take it, then! You have enough power." said Odette as she glared at him but Rothbart shook his head.
"Nah, tried that already. Once you steal something, you spend your whole life fighting to keep it."
Madison just stared at the wizard, knowing what he was really planning. She noticed the red glow coming from Rothbart's hands as he starts using his powers. With it, Rothbart changed Odette's dress to a white gown with a crown as if she looks like a bride. Then the old hag's ragged dress changed into a dress, and the scenery turned into a castle with a crowd as the bowed to the Odette and Rothbart.
"But if I marry the only heir to the throne… We'll rule your father's kingdom together, legally, King and Queen. You know?"
"Never!" Odette replied as she realized what the wizard was saying.
The scenery changed back to Swan Lake and everything went normal but Odette started to run. Madison decides to follow her as she wants to leave this place until somehow, her feet won't move. She tried movie but her feet won't budge as if they were stuck. Madison turned to face Rothbart as she figure it was his doing but the wizard only faced Odette as she was trying to escape.
"Where are you going? As soon as moonlight leaves the lake you turn back into the swan."
Odette stopped her pace as she heard Rothbart's words. Shocked to hear that she was still under a spell.
"No matter where you are." the wizard said again with a sly grin.
Madison could hear the princess's sobs, knowing that she is trapped with the dark wizard. And also knowing that she is trapped too. Suddenly, she saw Rothbart turned around as he was facing her. She wanted to move but she couldn't cause her feet won't move. As he got closer, Madison gave him one glare at him.
"And as for you." he spoke to her.
"What do you want from me?"
"Exactly what I want." he answered as he starts walking around her and continued to speak. "Before I planned on capturing Odette and after I regained my power, I saw something that really caught my eye. You hold a power that was coming from your necklace. I saw such potential when I saw you with it."
'He knows about the necklace?!' Madison spoke in her thoughts as she turned to face him. 'But wait... does he actually knows I have powers, which only connects to the necklace.'
Madison continued staring at him and notice he was frowning at something.
"But it looks to me that the necklace is not with you." he said and then looked straight into her eyes. "Where is it?"
"I... I don't know." Madison answered.
"You're lying." Rothbart spoke with a low growl. "Where is it?"
"Really! I don't know."
Rothbart let out another growl and his face turned red with rage. Madison could tell like he was going to burst until he started to feel calm and kept staring at her.
"I know you are lying." he said to her. "But never stop me from asking you. Don't know how many times. At least you are still my prisoner like the princess, and I will be coming here every night before the moon falls. And let me tell you this, "magic girl", I will give you three chances to tell me where the necklace is. And if you keep on lying to me, along with the last chance, you will become a swan. Permanently."
Madison kept staring at the evil wizard. She felt scared at first but kept a straight face and stared at him. Just like how she did with the Witch of the West. When the wizard walked past her, he was walking away along with the hag.
Suddenly, her feet can now move and Madison let out a sigh with relief. Her heart was pounding like crazy and felt a tear streaming down on her cheek. She was scared but Madison wiped the tear away and put brave face on. As she remembers back at home, she has to be strong when some things happen to or even a family loss. It is a little hard for her, but she has to be.
As the sound of the sobbing stops, Madison turned her head to see Odette sitting on the ground with her head down and with her was a frog and a turtle. She slowly walks towards her and stood in front of the princess as the frog and turtle turned to look at her.
"Are... are you alright?" Madison spoke softly to her.
The princess slowly looked up to face her and then looked down at the ground.
"I... I'm not." she answered.
Madison slowly sat beside her and continued to look at her.
"What about you?" Odette spoke as she was speaking to her.
"Same as you. Who was that wizard anyway?" Madison asked as she acted.
"He is called Rothbart. He's an evil sorcerer that wanted my father's kingdom. Years ago, after I was born, my father stopped him with his evil plans and sentenced him to banishment. Rothbart made a vow that he will take everything from my father once his powers are restored."
"Sounds like banishment wasn't enough." said Madison and continued listening to Odette's story.
"That is until... when my father and I were heading to docks from visiting a prince, Rothbart returned as he turned himself to some... monster and took me. After he killed my father."
"I'm so sorry for your loss, your highness." said Madison and then looked at the frog and turtled as they looked sad.
"And what about you? Is there a reason why he took you?" Odette asks as she looked at him.
"He wanted something from me, but it's actually not with me at all." she answered.
"What do you mean?"
Madison sighed and then looked at Odette.
"He wanted my necklace. And it's actually magic." Madison starts to explain. "It gave me so many powers whenever I did anything good or even take me to any places that I wished to go for adventures. It once belonged to a wicked witch until an old friend of mine and I somehow killed her. And now... another witch, a good witch, gave it to me."
Odette looked at her for a moment. Surprised to hear about a magic necklace. Including the frog and the turtle.
"What kind of powers does it give you?" the princess asked.
"Anything. Anything that will do good. That's what Rothbart wanted. But I guess... he doesn't anything about me as well."
"What do you mean?"
Before Madison could speak, she paused for a moment and looked around. Seeing nothing but trees, bushes, the lake, and the castle. If she had her necklace, she would have sensed any dark aura somewhere, but she hadn't master that.
"Not only the necklace is magic... but also me."
"You?" the princess questioned as she still stares at her. "You have magic as well."
"Yes, but the problem is... I have to be connected with my necklace. I don't know if I can't do it separately. It's not powerful enough to go against that dark wizard." Madison answered.
"Can you at least try?"
Madison looked at her and then looked down for a moment in her thoughts.
"I... I've never really practice that. But I could try, but it may not work." she said. "Don't know if I can still do it once I'm a swan."
The turtle and the frog looked at each other with confusion.
"I think she's crazy, Speed." the frog whispers as he was talking about Madison.
"Don't be ridiculous." the turtle named Speed whispers back.
"Some ridiculous story of a magic necklace and sort of such nonsense." said the frog.
"It's not nonsense to me."
"You can't believe everything this peasant girl said."
"Uh, I can hear you, you know!" Madison's voice spoke.
The two stopped whispering and looked up to see Madison and Odette as they were facing them. Madison however was only staring at the frog as she frowned and raised an eyebrow.
"Uh..."
Before the frog could say anything, Madison picked him up with her fingers and glared at him.
"Calling me a peasant, huh? How about I call you 'slime breath'?"
"Slime Breath?! How dare you! I am a Prince!"
"A prince? Really?" Madison questioned and then looked at the turtle. "Is he really a prince?"
"He keeps thinking he's a Prince." the turtle replied.
"If really are a prince. Prove it." Madison spoke to the frog.
"Prove it? Why would I prove it if I know I'm truly a prince?" the Frog questioned.
"Would you two please stop fighting?" Odette's voice spoke as she looked at Madison and the frog.
"He started it." Madison pointed at the frog.
"She called me a smile-ball!"
"Slime breath!" Madison corrected.
"Whatever!"
"Please!" Odette spoke as she looks at the two. "This kind of argument is not going to help."
"I agree with her, Jean-Bob." Speed spoke as he looked at the frog.
Madison looked at the turtle and the princess for a moment and then looked at the frog. She let out a sigh and put him down. The frog, who is Jean-Bob, brushed himself off and gave Madison a grumpy look.
"Look, I actually believe that Madison does have a magic necklace. But it's not with her, and that might be a good reason that Rothbart won't get his hands on it." said Odette.
"Come on, Jean-Bob. If she's telling the truth and we should believe her." said Speed but the frog just scoffed.
Madison just shook her head at the frog until something hit her. Through the Swan Princess she have seen, Jean-Bob did tried to charm every girl to get a kiss cause he was still a frog and of course, Odette's kiss didn't work at all. She leaned a little towards the frog's head and said something.
"If you really are a prince, perhaps I can make you a little deal."
"A deal?" Jean-Bob turned around to face her. "What makes you think I want to make a deal with you?"
"Trust me. You might like this one." Madison continued. "Once the spell is broken on both me and the princess, and get my necklace back, I will create something that will turn you human but only on night times. Think about it, 'Your Highness', you in such grand balls and the finest lovely ladies might fall for you."
Jean-Bob's eyes went wide and then turned to face her.
"Grand balls? Lovely ladies falling for me?"
"Whatever you imagine." she said.
"Me as a prince at night-times." said Jean-Bob and Madison nods her head. "Alright mademoiselle. You got yourself a deal."
And from that moment, the frog let out his webbed hand out and Madison gently shook it. A deal from a magic girl has been made.
"Well..." Odette spoke as she interrupted the moment. "Now that's been settled, perhaps we should introduce ourselves. I'm Odette. Princess Odette."
"I'm Lorenzo Trudge-a-long but my friends called me Speed."
"And I am Jean-Bob. Prince Jean-Bob." the frog introduced and then looked at Madison. "And you are mademoiselle?"
"I'm Madison. But my friends call me Maddie for short."
