Dear Lord Parkinson,
A contract has become active between your youngest daughter and Lord Berry J Potter-Black. We at Gringotts wish many felicitations to the happy couple. The contract is through the Black family and is air-tight, but you are welcome to have a solicitor go over the document.
Sincerely,
Gringotts Legal
Douglas Parkinson looked over the letter in disbelief. He had no clue who Berry Potter-Black was or why he had to marry his only daughter to him.
He looked down and saw another letter.
Dear Lord Parkinson and Family,
I'm writing to let you know there is a contract between our families. I did not knowingly activate this contract but I'm willing to give it a try if you are. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Berry J. Potter-Black, also known as Harry Potter, also known as Jesse Potter-Black. I am in the same year group as Pansy Parkinson. I do not know much about my family lines or yours, but I am willing to learn. Will you meet with me on the Sunday before the Hogwarts Express leaves to iron out details of the contract?
Best Regards,
Berry J Potter-Black
Lord Parkinson sat back. Harry Potter was contracted to his daughter? This could be huge. After the war (not to mention Pansy's actions in the war), the name had dropped in popularity but this could bump them back up. Both the Potters and Blacks had Wizengamot seats. The Parkinsons had a minor seat in the wizarding courts but only one vote as a Noble House versus the three votes the Potter seat had as a Most Noble and Ancient house and the whopping four votes the Blacks had. Not to mention Potter-Black most likely had an Order of Merlin vote. If Pansy could sway him, not even to the Dark, but to the Grey faction? Amazing things could be done. He summoned Pansy to his study at once.
