The screen flickered for a bit before the author appeared, waving from behind a desk.
*Hey guys Hakurorfan7 here and welcome back to another chapter of the Curious Shadow of Fairy Tail.*
*This chapter is the search for Macao on Mt. Hakobe where things turn sour and then Finnean officially joining Fairy Tail. Which I hope that you will all enjoy. Now let's move onto the chapter, but first the disclaimer.*
*First I do not own Fairy Tail or Pokémon.*
*Secondly just sit back, relax, maybe put some music on, and enjoy. I'll see you all at the end of the chapter.*
The author snapped his fingers, getting the screen to turn to static as the chapter began.
Mt. Hakobe
(Carriage to Mt. Hakobe - A few hours later)
"And so..." Lucy trailed off before bringing her hands to her face and shook her head with a smile. "Next time we both have free time, I'm going to hang out with Mirajane at her place!"
"You know what it's wrong to steal her panties right?" Happy said, getting Lucy to look aghast.
"Who'd do something like that!" Lucy shouted at the cat. "Why would you even ask me that!"
"I don't know, but I guess it was just and Mirajane talking." Finnean said, getting Lucy to stiffen. "Just a guess. But I think you were daydreaming."
"Y-Your magic works on them too?" Lucy said, her face flushing in embarrassment.
"I didn't know myself, perhaps Bad Dreams only work on strong ones." Finnean pondered while tilting his head.
Natsu only groaned as he lied on the opposite side of the carriage, trying not to throw up.
Both Finnean and Lucy caught up to Natsu and Happy about halfway through Magnolia Town before joining them to head to Mt. Hakobe. Natsu suffering from motion sickness the entire way through.
"Still what we were wondering is why are you both here?" Happy asked.
"What? You've got a problem with that?" Lucy asked irritably.
"Actually quite a few with Lucy." Happy said, enraging the blonde before she let out a sigh.
"Honestly since I finally made it in Fairy Tail and I was hoping that I could be of some use you see." Lucy said happily before turning to Finnean. "I take it the same with you Finnean?"
"Yes, though I do want to know what Mt. Hakobe was like I do want to help out with Macao since I will be joining the guild with you guys. That and it seems interesting traveling with you guys, even if it's been a day." Finnean said with a small smile mirrored by Lucy and Happy. Natsu just let out a groan in response.
"Well that is one way to put it." Lucy said.
"Aye!" Happy agreed.
"But..." Lucy said while looking at the twitching and groaning form of the Dragon Slayer. "Still I never figured that your motion sickness was this bad. You poor, poor guy."
"Not sure if bitter ginger ale would help his stomach or make it worse." Finnean said, a shadowy hand reaching out from underneath his cloak with his flask in its grasp.
Placing next to Natsu's head.
Who looked at it for a moment before brushing his hand against it, knocking the flask off the seat and into Finnean's shadow before it retracted.
"Thanks...but...not a good idea.." Natsu groaned out, his face looking green.
"Maybe." Finnean said with a wince.
He wasn't sure if it was going to help settle Natsu's stomach or just make it worst.
"Anyway after this I plan on finding a place of my own. What about you Finnean?" Lucy asked.
"Honestly no clue, only have the Jewels the captain left for me. Maybe I'll ask around, after I get my mark first." Finnean said, getting her to nod.
"You two can live with us at Natsu's place." Happy said.
"If I thought that you were serious I would have pulled your whiskers out." Lucy said blankly.
"I think he was." Finnean said while tilting his head.
"Aye." Was all Happy said,
Suddenly the carriage came to a stop and Natsu instantly sat back up to Lucy's and Finnean's surprise, looking completely fine and not half dead and dying not even a second ago.
"We've stopped!" Natsu yelled, a small stream of fire coming from his mouth as Happy cheered with him.
"Sorry, but this is as far as I can go in a horse drawn carriage." The carriage driver shouted from the outside.
Finnean looked to the sides of the carriage, to see the windows were frosted over. Quickly fastening his cloak over himself as he had a bad feeling about this.
Instantly proven right when Natsu threw open the back doors of the carriage, letting in a chilling wind that caused both him and Lucy to shiver from the wave of cold that had rushed in. More so her than him.
Natsu jumped out with Happy clinging to his shoulders, Finnean poked his head out to see they were quite far up the mountain and directly infront of the carriage was a massive snowbank Along to the right there was a ravine a small distance down from where the carriage was parked
He wondered how it would be able to back up from there?
Lucy jumped out of the carriage, teeth clattering all the while shivering like crazy as the winds carried snow around them.
"I don't care how high we are on this mountain, it is still summer! There shouldn't be a blizzard like this!" Lucy shouted before finding herself ankle deep in snow. "S-So cold!"
Finnean hoisted her out of the building snow with his shadows while Natsu closed the back of the carriage.
"It's cold because you're wearing thin clothing." Natsu said, uncaring of the blizzard around him.
"Like you're one to talk!" Lucy shouted at him before seeing the carriage turning around and the horses beginning to pull it back down the mountain. "Wait how am I supposed to head back down!"
"Man she's loud." Natsu said as the carriage went further down the path.
"Aye!" Happy shouted, trying to hold onto Natsu to prevent from being blown away in the wind.
"Hopefully we can find Macao soon, to get out of this cold." Finnean said as he and Natsu looked at the path ahead and began to walk up.
"Why you got a cloak, you'll be fine!" Natsu said with a grin as he went ahead.
"It does very little." Finnean said blankly while shivering a little.
"W-Wait up you guys!" Lucy called out as she ran to catch up to them, only to stop when a blanket was dropped on her. "W-What?"
Moving it out of her face, Lucy saw a shadowy tendril sunk back into her shadow. Looking to see Finnean slowing his pace while looking back.
"Not sure how effective a camping blanket will be, but it's better than nothing." He said before resuming his pace.
"T-Thank you." Lucy said with her teeth chattering before trudging along after her new guild mates.
True to Finnean's word, the camping blanket did very little to block out the frigid winds of the blizzard for Lucy. Still shivering like a leaf as they continued to climb the mountain, even if the winds were starting to slow down a bit.
Finnean trailed behind, his hood up and clasping his cloak as Lucy raced up to Natsu and Happy.
"L-Lend me your scarf please!" She said, tugging on Natsu's bag.
"No." Natsu said as he continued to walk up the mountain.
Lucy sighed before reaching into the blanket and pulling out a silver key.
"G-Gate of the Time Keeper, I open thee! Horologium!" Lucy called out while shivering, raising the key as the sound of a door opening echoed.
A plume of smoke arose soon cleared out to reveal a prior shaped like a large grandfather clock with two long arms and a face with a twirled mustache.
Finnean tilted his head while looking at Horologium.
He had heard that spirits took many forms, but he didn't expect a clock.
"Oh a clock!" Natsu said excitedly.
"Cool!" Happy said, mirroring his partner.
Lucy took the moment to slip inside the case of her spirit, curling up and huddling into the camping blanket. Natsu and Happy looked on in confusion as Lucy began to say something, but no sound came from the celestial spirit mage.
"What, I can't hear you?" Natsu said.
"She says 'I'll be in here if you want me.'." Horologium said, parroting Lucy's words. "And he says 'I'll be warming up for a few moments.'."
Getting confused looks from the three before Lucy spotted a shadow moving on one of the walls inside her spirit.
"Finnean?" She said as his head poked out of the shadow.
"Sorry, just wanted to get out of the blizzard for a few moments." Finnean said, getting Lucy to sigh before nodding as she understood his pain.
"Please next time let me know." Lucy said with a small smile.
"I will." Finnean said before facing Natsu and Happy through the glass.
"He says, 'Be out after a few moments and thank you Horologium.'." The spirit said with a smile while Natsu shook his head.
"You could have just asked. Anyway why did she even come here anyway?" Natsu said with a bland look on his face.
"She replies 'What I come for? What kind of work brought Macao to a place like this in the first place?'." Horologium said.
"You seriously came without knowing that?! He came to exterminate a pack of huge monsters called Vulcans that had made the mountain their territory recently." Natsu said, getting Lucy eyes to widen as she started to panic.
Finnean had heard about Vulcans before, a large primate like monster with a single horn and some intelligence. Mainly hearing they usually live by themselves and make the occasional nuisance on the roads around Haregeon ever now and then. Requiring at least a guild wizard, the Rune Knights, or the Royal Army to clear it out.
He had never heard of one living in the mountains in packs, so that was a new one.
"She says 'I want to go home.'." Hologram said.
"And I say 'Go right ahead.'." Natsu said as he and Happy began walking away. "Finnean are you staying back?"
"He says 'Be right out in a minute.'." Hologram said, parroting Finnean's message.
"Aye!" Happy said with a nod before turning to follow the Dragon Slayer.
"You're really going back out there with Vulcans out there?" Lucy asked as Finnean stretched part of himself out of the shadow, mindful of the small space inside the spirit.
"Yes, only came here to get out the blizzard. Besides we'll have to eventually deal with monsters and such on quests." Finnean said, getting Lucy to nod at that before he smiled. "Plus there is three of us here, we should be able to hold them off until we can find Macao. Well maybe."
"True." She sighed out, before jumping as something crashed further ahead on the mountain. "What was that?!"
"A Vulcan." Finnean said with a frown, sinking back into his shadow.
In front of Natsu a large primate like creature with a single black horn on the top of its elongated head aside from a pair of pointed ears, disproportionately large upper half, and a long tail.
Exactly as what Finnean heard, except its fur was black and white with black spot patterns. Definitely a different species than around Haregeon.
He wondered if it had the same nasty habits too...
He his fist up at Natsu, getting him to jump back before the Vulcan sniffed around. Before bounding over to Horologium, scaring Lucy as he placed his face against the glass.
"A human woman!" The Vulcan shouted as Natsu smack his fist against his palm, creating flames.
"So it can talk." Natsu said, feeing fired up. Before the Vulcan picked up Horologium and hoisted the spirit up above its head before making a break for it.
Before it suddenly notice black bands snaking around its arms.
"Wha-" The Vulcan tried to speak, only to be silenced by three fists striking it in the face. Two emerging from the shadow bands and the third from Finnean starting to emerge from underneath Horologium.
Kicking off the Vulcan's face for good measure, its shadow billowed out and grasped the celestial spirit. Yanking him free from the Vulcan as Finnean jumped back and the shadow deposited Horologium and Lucy onto the ground before returning to the monster.
"You okay Lucy?" Finnean ask, looking at her.
She looked a little dizzy and seemed to be muttering something, but no sound came from Horologium.
"I'll take that as a maybe." Finnean said as a silver aura began to surround him.
"You no woman! Don't need man, begone!" The Vulcan shouted as he rushed forward to pulverize Finnean, only to be slammed into by the mage.
Jumping back as the Vulcan stumbled, sinking into the monster's shadow. With a growl he slammed both fists into his shadow. Cracking the snow and the ground beneath. Noticing a shadow slinking off across the ground.
The Vulcan smirked and charged towards it, only to double over as Natsu struck him with a flaming knee.
"Don't think that you can get away! Now where is Macao!" Natsu said as the Vulcan charged forward.
Roaring out as it tried to bring it's fist down, shadows wrapping around it's arm and seeing Finnean emerging from the ground. Getting punched in the nose by an enflamed fist, burning the shadows away.
"Gotcha!" Natsu shouted with a smirk as the Vulcan snarled and jumped back.
Finnean's hand turned back before it retracted, the chain he nicked from yesterday wrapped around his hand. Unfurling it as black bands stretched across the links.
"No time like the present." Finnean said, taking a practice swing of the chain and watching the ways it moved under his shadows before swinging it down to his own.
Extending it towards the Vulcan, the hooked end wrapping around the monster's foot. He tried to yank it, but the Vulcan didn't budge.
Looking more annoyed than anything until it got slugged in the chest by Natsu.
Reeling his shadow and the chain back, Finnean sunk into the ground and emerged. Swinging the chain a few times at the Vulcan.
Missing a few times before finally managing to land a strike against the Vulcan's arm before sinking into the shadows to avoid being pummeled by a large fist. Emerging from Natsu's shadow as the Dragon Slayer jumped and kicked the Bulcan in the chest.
"Go away!" It bellowed, clapping its hands together and sending Natsu back.
Finnean's shadow billowed out like a pillar lifting him up from the resulting gust of wind, the black bands retracting off the chain as he glowed red.
"Double Team!" He casted, a ring of copies jumping off the shadow pillar. Etching swinging back the chain, the hook igniting.
"Stay away, don't need men!" The Vulcan roared out, swinging his fist around to destroy the illusions.
On the second to last copy Finnean ducked under the fist as it broke the last one, swinging the flaming hook onto the Vulcan's arm.
He howled in pain, but to Finnean's confusion grinned as it gripped the chain even of more of it is covered in flames.
"Ow. Fly! Ow." The Vulcan said, hoisting the chain and a surprised Finnean over the air and tossed him off the side of the mountain and into the distance!
Finnean used his hover magic to realign in the air, but all that also did was just slowing his fall into the ravine by a little bit.
Extinguishing the flames and shadows sneaking along it, he swung the chain in the hopes of catching back onto the mountainside.
With a swing, he did manage to catch onto something.
"Thanks Happy." Finnean said as he tightly gripped the chain.
"No problem." Happy said, flying up with the hooked between his paws. "You might want to eat some fish, you're pretty light."
Finnean could only stare blankly at the flying cat as they flew back up to the mountainside.
Back up on the mountain the Vulcan kept dunking his hands into the snow banks to ease the burns before seeing an enraged Natsu charging at him. Quickly hurling a large snowball at the wizard.
"Really!" Natsu said as the snowball collided with his face before melting off into steam. "That a snowball would really work against-" Stopping and looking around to notice the Vulcan had disappeared. "Hey, where'd he go?"
"'Right here, now rescue me!', she says." Horologium said as Lucy panicked inside the spirit as the Vulcan picking them up and running away.
Soon vanishing into the whiteness of the blizzard.
"Damn it he's fast!" Natsu said before looking back to see Finnean being lowered back onto the mountainside. "You okay Finnean?"
"Fine, but the Vulcan took Lucy?" He said with a frown, dropping the chain into his shadow.
"Yep, I bet it is where Macao should be too!" Natsu shouted out as Happy flew down to them. "Come on before the scent vanished!"
"On it and Natsu-" Finnean tries to say, but the flying cat picked up the Dragon Slayer and took off into the air.
"Keep up!" Natsu shouted from up above.
"Aye!" Happy shouted as they followed after the Vulcan.
Finnean stared at their retreating form for a moment before sighing.
Making a mental note to have another word with Natsu as his cloak billowed out and sunk into the ground. A shadow dashing after them.
If he was correct and what he heard about Vulcan's weren't already a tall tale, then perhaps they had already found Macao.
(A cave near the peak of Mt. Hakobe - A few minutes later)
"'Why did this have to happen to me.' She says." Horologium parroted the teary eyed Lucy, covering his face as she placed her hands against the glass. "'And what's with this monkey, he is too excited!'."
After the Vulcan had carried the both of them to the icy cave Lucy believed was the monster's lair, he wouldn't stop dancing and cheering in a circle around the spirit for sometime now.
It was seriously freaking her out!
She had to wonder where Natsu or Finnean were now...
"A woman!" The Vulcan shouted, pressing his face against the glass with a leering smile. Steam outing out of his nose.
Lucy panicked and moved to the back of Horologium, her fear growing as the sound of a timer went off.
"No..." She said as the spirit began to glow golden.
Horologium vanished in a puff of clouds, soon leaving Lucy alone in the cave.
"Hey Horologium! Don't disappear on me!" She said, backing away from the Vulcan.
"It is time. Fare thee well and take care of yourself." Horologium's voce echoed out as the monster approached Lucy.
"I want an extension! An extension!" Lucy cried out as the Vulcan leaned over her.
She panicked and tried to back up with little success as he closed in and made grasping motions with his hands.
"Hey you monkey, I finally found you!" Natsu shouted, getting both of their attention as he ran into the cave. "Now where is Macao!"
Natsu rushed forward, only to slip on the icy floor. Letting out a surprised yell as he crashed onto his back. Spinning across the cavern floor as Lucy looked at him blandly before he crashed into a wall. Creating a large indent
"Lame." Lucy groaned out as she face palmed.
Seriously wondering why he could never made at least a regular entrance since she first meet him.
Seeing the Vulcan looking at the Dragon Slayer in annoyance, she took the chance to run up to her fellow guild member.
The Vulcan began to beat on his chest while hollering as Natsu kicked himself free from the wall.
"Hey monkey! Where's Macao?" Natsu asked as he began to pick himself off the ground, Lucy huddling behind him. "You can understand me right? I'm looking for Macao, a human man."
"A man?" The Vulcan said with a frown.
"That's right, where are you hiding Macao!" Natsu said while pointing at the Vulcan.
"He's already decided the monkey is hiding him..." Lucy said incredulously.
The Vulcan smiled and pointed to a small entrance on the side of the cave.
"See, I think I'm getting to him." Natsu smiled and ran over to where the Vulcan had pointed at. Seeing only a deep fall off the mountainside and the blizzard still boing on outside. "Where?"
Only to be pushed off and down by the grinning Vulcan.
"Monkey!" Natsu shouted out as he fell out of view.
"Natsu!" Lucy shouted in horror as she watched him vanish out of sight, hoping that he wasn't dead.
"Don't need men! Don't need men!" The Vulcan cheered out, Lucy turning to the celebrating monster with a frown. "Girl! Girl!"
"Okay that is it!" Lucy said, throwing down the camping blanket and reaching for a golden key on her key ring. "Get a load of this you perverted monkey! Gate of the Golden Bull open! Taurus!"
With the twist of her key, the sound of a door opening round out.
The ground rupturing next to her as Taurus emerged.
The celestial spirit resembling a humanoid black and white patterned bull with grey trunks, black boots, bandages wrapped around his forearms, a cow bell, a ring through his nose, and a belt around his shoulder. On the belt was a large labrys axe with a pattern resembling a horned helmet on one side of the blade.
"Moo!" Taurus bellowed out before flexing to the Vulcan's confusion.
"A cow?" The Vulcan said as Lucy smirked.
"Taurus is the strongest of the Celestial Spirits that I have contracts with." She said proudly. "You're going to regret kidnapping me you perverted ape!"
"Lucy! You are sprouting a beautiful pair of udders today!" Taurus said, leering at her while his summoner palmed her face. "Never mind that your body is always amazing! Could you be anymore moo-re lovely!"
"Right...he's a huge pervert too..." Lucy said with an exasperated sigh.
"How dare you take my woman!" The Vulcan roared out.
"Your woman! I will have no more of that!" Taurus bellowed out, drawing his axe.
"Taurus!" Lucy shouted as she jumped back as her spirit began to swung the axe above his head.
"Rampage!" Taurus casted, slamming the labrys into the ground.
Generating a shockwave that sent rocks upwards towards the Vulcan, the monster jumping out of the way as the ground ruptured as he began to run along the wall.
"He's fast." Lucy said as Taurus braved himself as the Vulcan charged.
Eyes widening as Natsu dove at him with a kick.
Before a pair of large shadowy hands burst from the ground, one grabbing Natsu and dragging him to the ground and keeping him pinned. The other smacking into the Vulcan, getting Taurus the chance to batter it away to the other side of the cavern. Crashing into the same wall Natsu had slipped into earlier.
"Finnean what the hell! Why are you protecting that new monster!" Natsu shouted, getting Lucy to let out a relieved sigh.
Both from that it seemed like both Natsu and Finnean were alright, and the latter prevented Taurus from being knocked out probably.
"He's one of Lucy's spirits." Finnean said, emerging from the ground next to Lucy. Getting Natsu to look confused. "The bull."
"Right." Natsu said as the shadow dispersed and stood back up.
"Apologies for being late, are you okay Lucy?" Finnean asked, getting Lucy to nod.
"I'm fine now, I was just wondering if you and Natsu were alright." She said with a smile.
"Not sure what happened to Natsu, but he and Happy took off. It was a bit before I could catch up." Finnean said with a shrug, getting Lucy to notice Happy flying above them.
"So Happy caught you then. You can't handle transportation, but I guess Happy is no problem huh." She said, getting the Dragon Slayer to look at her aghast.
"Happy's not transportation, he's my partner. You're mean!" Natsu said, getting her to take a step back.
"Right, sorry." Lucy said, unsure of how else to respond.
"Natsu." Finnean said, getting his attention as the Vulcan began to pick it self up. "I believe I know where Macao is, all we need to do is knock that Vulcan out first."
"Right." He said, smacking his fists together with a determined expression. Feeling fired up.
"Lucy, can you please give me an assist?" Finnean asked.
"Sure." Lucy said with a smirk. "Taurus, can you back him up in dealing with the pervy monkey!"
"Right!" Taurus bellowed out as the Vulcan charged at them enraged, barring fangs and roaring.
"Give me my woman!" The Vulcan yelled as he jumped into the air.
"Listen up!" Natsu said as he raised an arm an over his head, blocking the Vulcan from trying to smash him onto the ground. Getting it to crater beneath him, but Natsu didn't budge an inch. "Everyone in Fairy Tail is my friends and allies!"
The Vulcan kicked at Natsu, crossing his arms and being pushed back.
Opening the monster to being kicked in the back as Finnean shot out of its shadow, followed by Taurus swing the axe down on him.
"The old man and Mira, and even those annoying jerks Elfman and Gray." Natsu said as flames began to form around his feet.
With a holler, the Vulcan jumped back up and swung a fist at Finnean. Melting into the ground to avoid it, but was ignored by the Vulcan as he charged at Natsu again.
"Happy, Lucy, and Finnean are all my friends too." Natsu said, getting both of them to smile as the Vulcan jumped at him again. "And that's why I'm going to bring Macao back home as well!"
The Vulcan was blindsided as Natsu jumped into him midair with a flaming kick, sending it flying back with a burst of flames. Crashing into the cave's ceiling knocking a bunch of icicles down.
Landing in a crouch, the Vulcan clapped his hands together and send the icicles flying towards the wizards.
Lucy looked ready to jump before letting out a sigh of relief as a shadow rose infront of her followed by Taurus running out of it, spinning his axe and deflecting the icicles.
"Watch where your throwing them you rude moo-nkey!" Taurus bellowed out before looking back at Lucy and Finnean. "Never again."
"Sorry about it, but I have another idea." Finnean said, his shadow billowing out to reach Taurus. Whispering in his year.
Lucy leaned forward to hear it, a grin appearing on her face.
"Again, I told you that this wouldn't work on me!" Natsu shouted as the icicles melted on impact, creating a cloud of steam.
The Vulcan charged forward, only to stop as its face was lashed by a whip. Turning to glare at the source.
"Miss me." Lucy said with a smirk, retracting her whip as Taurus stood in guard infront of her.
"Get away from my woman!" The Vulcan shouted as he charged towards her as Finnean emerged from the ground.
He brandished the chain, but the Vulcan ducked underneath it. Throwing a fist into Finnean's gut, smashing his torso into pieces.
Lucy grinned as the Shadow Doll melted away to the Vulcan's confusion, shifting into horror as a mass of shadow rose up in a pillar with a chilling black smoke pouring around it, a single large blue and white cat like eye glowing from in the mass. Seeming to pierce through the Vulcan's soul with its gaze.
"You shouldn't have done that." Finnean's voice reverberated from the pillar as part of the mass billowed out and formed a giant clawed hand larger than the Vulcan that shot at him like a bullet despite the size.
"Monster! Stay back!" The Vulcan shouted as he jumped back as the hand smacked into him.
Only to feel Taurus's axe as the shadows melted away, slamming into his head with a loud clang. The spirit sending the monster flying back into Natsu who slugged it into a wall.
"That worked perfectly." Lucy said happily seeing the shadows melt away to reveal Finnean holding his lantern with the giant eye pattern on it. Noticing him wiping his brow. "You okay?"
"Just used a little too much magic retaining it." Finnean said, dispelling the illusion away and swapping the lantern out for the chain.
He used the same principle he had seen from Makarov that he still wasn't sure was magic or some strange lighting to make himself more intimidating and shadowy. Seemed to worked wonders on the Vulcan when mixed with Haze.
Yet it was about time this finished this.
"Lucy can you order Taurus to toss me." Finnean said, igniting the chain.
"Sure..." Lucy said, unsure as the flames were sucked away and Finnean sunk into the ground. "Taurus you heard him!"
The flames were devoured by Natsu and Taurus lowered his axe to the ground.
"A little bland, but thanks for the grub Finnean!" Natsu said with a smirk as he slammed his fists together to ignite them.
"Tell me when you're ready." Taurus said as Finnean's shadow traveled onto the axe, the spirit pulling it back as he half emerged.
Crouching and hook end of the chain lit on fire as a white aura spread around him.
"Ready." Finnean said as Taurus grinned.
"Moo!" He bellowed before swinging the axe, Finnean shot off it a blinding speeds while Natsu followed after him.
The Vulcan stumbled back as he saw Finnean shot towards him, the chain fully lit and cloak billowing out unnerving the monster even more.
"Quick Attack!" Finnean casted, lashing the flaming chain at the Vulcan before kicking off. Sending him flying back as the white haired mage dove to the side.
Blindsiding the Vulcan to the grinning Natsu.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" He casted, fist colliding with the monster before unleashing a massive burst of fire.
Creating a new entrance in the cavern wall and the scorching Vulcan crashed upside down into a wall, finally knocked unconscious.
"He's done!" Happy cheered, getting Lucy to let out a sigh of relief as Finnean dropped the chain into his shadow.
"Wait I thought that you were going to ask him about where Macao was?" Lucy asked Natsu as Finnean hovered towards the downed Vulcan.
"Right, Finnean said he was going to get them." Natsu said, before Lucy nodded. Figuring what he was going to do.
His eyes turned red and grabbing Vulcan, pulling away a shadow like version of itself.
Only to Lucy's and Natsu's shock was something else in place of the Vulcan. In where the monster previously was now laid an older man with dark blue hair, a thin mustache, and stubble. His white jacked and brown pinstripe pants were ruffled and smeared while his dark shirt was half torn, showing a bad wound that started to bleed out on his abdomen.
"Wait that's Macao!" Natsu said as he rushed over to where Finnean was.
"Macao was the pervy monkey!" Lucy said in shock.
"I had heard that Vulcan's can possess people in a desperate situation to survive. I thought that it could have been Macao after we were attack and no other Vulcan in sight. There was no way to tell until now." Finnean sighed out as his eyes turned to normal.
Letting the shadow Vulcan burst into pink clouds before he started to brush them off and letting them fade.
There was no need to find out what that Vulcan dreamed, and part of Finnean doubted it would have been anything pleasant.
Besides he doubted that it would have tasted good anyway.
"It's Take Over, a body possession magic." Happy said, getting Lucy to nod.
Before they heard a crumbling noise as the section of the wall where Macao was wedged fell away and he started to fall too.
Natsu rushed forward, only for a pair of shadowy hands emerged from Finnean's cloak and managed to catch the unconscious wizard.
"I got him." Finnean said, getting Natsu to sigh in relief. "Do you know first aid, I have a kit in my bag but haven't had time to brush up on everything?"
"Some stuff, I got a kit in my bag." Natsu said before he began to rummage through it.
"Lucy can you please get the blanket or lay out Natsu's..." Finnean was trying to say before she already sprung into action. "Never mind then."
He smiled seeing them in action while reeling in Macao. Lucy spreading out the blanket before he laid him onto it. Covering the man in shadows before they spat out his shirt and jacket to get a better look at the wound.
It was worse than he thought initially, otherwise Macao looked pretty banged up with some less severe wounds.
Natsu quickly lit a fire as Happy opened Natsu's medical kit. Both Lucy and Finnean began to pat down some of the wounds with rags.
"It looked like he was in a pitched battle before he was taken over." Happy said as he rummaged through the kit for medicine.
"If he fought an entire pack of Vulcans it would explain how bad some of these wounds are." Finnean said dressing some of the wounds and noticing the man's steady breathing started to slow.
"Macao! Hang in there!" Natsu shouted.
"The wound in his abdomen is pretty deep. The medicine kit you brought won't be enough for it." Lucy said while looking down at Macao grimly. "Finnean you think there is some more in your kit?"
"One way to tell." Finnean said as he brought it out of his shadow and a shadowy hand began to rummage through it.
Lucy was sure that even with what medicine Finnean could find would probably not be enough to save Macao...
To Finnean's and Lucy's surprise Natsu lit his hand on fire and pressed it against Macao's wound, getting him to yell out in pain!
"What do you think you're doing?!" Lucy shouted as Macao started to spasm.
"Right now it's the only thing I can do! Try to hold on Macao!" Natsu shouted before he faced the other two. "Lucy hold him down! Finnean help her and make sure he stays asleep!"
Both sprung into action and a blue eye appeared on Macao's shadow as Finnean reined in his magic's influence.
Macao's yelling began to lessen as Natsu cauterized the wound.
"Don't you dare die Macao, just a wait little longer!" Natsu shouted as the man stopped spasming.
A minute or two later Macao finally settled down as the blood flow stopped from the wound as Natsu extinguished his hand, removing it to reveal it was closed. He and Lucy backed away with the former sighing in relief as the eye vanished from the man's shadow.
"He is pretty restless, he could wake up any minute now." Finnean said as a shadowy hand pulled out a roll of bandages from his first aid kit.
"If he does I'll knock him out if Macao could reopen his wound before we can treat it." Natsu said, getting Lucy and Finnean to nod before they went to work.
After a bit of work and Lucy called Taurus back to the Celestial Spirit world both Happy and Finnean were packing their respective medical kits.
Macao's abdomen area, left shoulder, left forearm, and right bicep was wrapped in bandages along with bandaids placed on wounds on his right pectoral, right forearm and forehead after being dressed and cleaned off. After that his condition seemed to have stabilized.
"He should be alright now." Lucy sighed out in relief. Before noticing that he is starting to stir. "Is he?"
"In and out, literally any moment." Finnean said as Natsu got closer to Macao.
"Come on, Romeo is waiting for you! Open your eyes!" Natsu shouted as Macao groaned and his eyes fluttered open.
"Natsu..." Macao groaned out.
"Macao!" Natsu said with a smile as Lucy was relieved the older wizard was okay.
"I'm pitiful, I took 19 of them down when that 20th jumped and took me over..." Macao said, shocking Lucy to hear just how many he dealt with. "I can't believe myself. Damn it...how can I face Romeo like this..."
"That's not true! You do great defeating that many." Natsu said, extending a hand to Macao.
Lucy was still process the wizard in front of her single-handedly took on a Vulcan pack and almost won while Finnean smiled as Macao took Natsu's hand as he helped the man sit up.
"Let's get you home, Romeo's waiting for you." Natsu said with a smile which Macao mirrored.
Lucy smiled at that thinking they were amazing.
They were on a league of their own, and perhaps all of Fairy Tail was like that...
"One day, I'm sure you'll get there." Finnean said, surprising her. "You weren't day dreaming this time, it was written on your face."
"It is actually quite scary." Happy said, placing a paw over his mouth.
"I'll pull your whiskers out." Lucy grumbled at him before turning to face Finnean. "You think so?"
"Perhaps, if that is what you wish. We've already made some first steps today, you joining the guild of your dreams and myself seeing a new town and traveling up a frigid mountain in the middle of summer. I'm sure you'll get there one day, but at least it won't be alone." Finnean said, looking at Macao and Natsu with a small smile.
Lucy stared at him for a moment before nodding.
"Right, anyway let's head back home now." Lucy said with a smile, thinking about the words Natsu said last night.
Home...she hadn't been back in over a year...and Lucy doubted she could wish to go back right as she was...
Yet the thought of going back to the guild after saving Macao warmed her heart as much as finally joining Fairy Tail this morning. Despite the craziness she had witnessed from the guild members this morning and Natsu in general, she was loving this.
It was already feeling like coming back home after an adventure.
"Yep, let's head back." Finnean said with a smile.
(Foothills of Mt. Hakobe - Late Afternoon)
"F-Finally we're back down and I can see the wagon down there!" Lucy said, her tone a mixture of excitement and just shivering from the sheer cold even if the blizzard had died down quite a bit. With Happy hanging off Natsu again and Finnean supporting Macao walking down the mountain.
It was somewhat mitigated by Natsu and Macao producing fire, well more Natsu and he and Finnean had to make sure the older wizard didn't push himself even further.
"Well then come on!" Natsu cheered out as he prepared to run away.
"Natsu, Happy a word please." Finnean said, getting both to stiffen as his tone and his visible eye seeming to see through their souls with its gaze.
He was starting to sound exactly like her...
"Yes." Natsu said, wondering just what he had brought to the guild.
"Next time if the circumstances prevent otherwise, please be mindful not to leave others behind in a blizzard." Finnean said in a stern tone, getting Natsu to nod and internally sigh in relief.
Okay he was not as bad as her...
"Aye, come on then." Natsu said, running off with Lucy blinking owlishly at him before shrugging and running off.
Just happy to finally be out of the mountain.
"Okay I was Taken Over for a few days, but when did we get a second Erza?" Macao asked as Finnean helped him walk down the slope.
"Who?" He asked while tilting his head.
"Another member, don't worry about it. If you haven't met her then she is still out on her job." Macao said, silently sighing in relief at that news.
"Let's get you back home, I'm sure Macao will be ecstatic to see you're okay." Finnean said, getting Macao to smile before he winced and clutched his side. "Are you sure that you don't want to stop again?"
"I'm fine, I'll rest on the carriage ride back. Besides I'll visit Porlyusica tomorrow to get it looked at and I should be good." He said, trying to hide a wince.
He was not looking forward to it...he could already feel phantom pains from her broom...
"Anyway, thank you three for coming to get me. If you hadn't..." Macao said before shaking his head, not wishing to think about it. "If any of you need a favor just let me know."
Finnean was about to refute that, before bringing a finger to his chin. Pondering for a moment before nodding as an idea came to mind.
"Actually I think I got an idea if you don't mind." Finnean said, getting Macao to raise a brow before the white haired mage leaned back and whispered it.
Macao looked between Finnean and the forms of Natsu and Lucy as they finally got to the wagon.
"That's all, I'm sure if you asked him it would end in a disaster. But are you really sure that's what you want the favor for?" Macao asked.
He saw no problem with it, just wanting to be sure.
"I'm sure besides just the basics so I can practice on my own if I can do it. Want it to be a small surprise, but only once you get better." Finnean said, getting Macao to nod.
"Sure, check up with me after tomorrow and we'll start. You got yourself a deal." Macao said smile, getting Finnean to extend a hand before they shook on it.
"Alright, anyway the wagon is coming back up. Won't be long now." Finnean said, seeing both Natsu and Lucy walking along the wagon as it turned around,
"Not a moment too soon, I swear if I spend another minute on this mountain anytime soon..." Macao grumbled while shaking his head as they walked towards the wagon.
(Magnolia Town - Sunset)
After a long wagon ride the five of them returned to Magnolia Town, Macao being support by Natsu as they walked through town, Happy flying behind them. Finding Romeo sitting on a set of stairs.
"Romeo!" Natsu called out with a wave, getting the boy's attention.
His eyes widened and started to tear up seeing Macao, running up to them.
"Dad!" Romeo cried out, jumping up and surprising his father by hugging on the neck before Macao fell back down.
His shadow swelled up and acted like a cushion to prevent his head from hitting the roadway.
Lucy sighed and smiled at Finnean as Macao sat back up and hugged his son.
"Dad, I'm sorry!" Romeo cried out.
"I'm sorry I made you worry." Macao said.
"It's okay...I'm the son of a wizard after all." Romeo said.
"Next time those brats dare to make fun of you, you can just ask them this." Macao said before smiling at his son. "'Can your dads defeat 19 Vulcans all alone?' Just say that."
Romeo smiled despite his tears as Macao's shadow retracted. All for of them smiled at the sight before they turned and began to walk back to the guildhall.
"Natsu! Happy! Thank you!" Romeo cried out.
"Sure thing!" Natsu said with a wave.
"Aye!" Happy said, waving his tail.
"And thank you to Lucy and Finnean!" Romeo shouted out.
Both Finnean and Lucy turn to wave back at them before continuing to walk back to the guild hall.
After a few minutes they came to guildhall to see several wizards milling around outside, including Mira waving at them.
Lucy came to a stop as Natsu, Happy, and Finnean to walk past her.
It had been sunny, then a blizzard, then sunny all over again for her already in a single day. She supposed it could be a reflection of her new guild.
Fairy Tail might be one crazy messed up guild...
But it was kind, warm hearted, and fun...
"Lucy are you coming?" Finnean asked, breaking Lucy out of her thoughts before she nodded and smiled.
And while she might just be starting out as a wizard, she absolutely loved this guild!
(Fairy Tail Guildhall - Dusk)
"Quite the prologue to your initiation to Fairy Tail. Saving Macao from such a precarious fate." Laki said as Finnean took a sip of some water.
"Yup, honestly wasn't half sure Dream Eater would work to remove it." Finnean said.
"The Vulcan would have let his possession on him after feeling as threatened like that, but unless it was some anti-magic in nature I've never heard of such a spell dispelling a Vulcan's Take Over like that. But then again it was unconscious when you tried." Schoena said as he turned a page in his book.
The three of them sitting at the pub to avoid another brawl that had broken out in the guild in part of the celebration of two new members and Macao's return.
And if what Finnean had heard was correct, there will be many such celebrations in the future.
"Quite true." He said place the glass down and noticed that some of the members were starting to exit the guild amongst the fight.
And Lucy chatting with a petite blue haired girl he heard to be named Levy that he learned was the leader of a team called Team Shadow Gear. He liked the name and it seemed like the two of them were becoming swift friends.
Which he was happy to see, like it seemed to be for him, Laki, and Schoena.
The three of them preferring to stay out of the fighting in the guild if they could help it.
"Speaking of earlier, have you finally concluded the placement of the engravement?" Laki asked, confusing Schoena but getting Finnean to nod.
"I've decided the placement, just not the color of the mark. Narrowed it down." He said.
"Then how about we do it now, I've got the stamp under the counter." Mira said with a smile as she walked up to them.
"Sure, I would like that please." Finnean said while nodding.
"You were waiting for him to ask about that?" Schoena asked as he flipped a page in his book.
"Maybe~" Mira said as she pulled out the stamp. "But he needed it done anyway. So where do you want it Finnean?"
"My right shoulder blade please." Finnean said folding his cloak over his body.
"And what color?" Mira asked.
Finnean thought about it for a moment before wincing and clutching his head, before feeling a comforting sensation and a flash of a soft glow filled his vision for a moment before clearing up.
"You okay?" Schoena asked, getting him to notice that he, Laki, and Mira were looking at him in concern,
"I'm fine, just thinking of something." Finnean said before giving them a reassuring smile. "I would like for it to be light blue please."
"Sure, just lift your cloak please." Mira said, getting Finnean to nod as he pulled his cloak off.
Laki looked away as Finnean revealed that he was wearing nothing on his torso underneath the cloak. Exposing a lean frame underneath.
Someone let out a whistle, Finnean looked around but couldn't find the source.
"And here you go." Mira said as she applied the stamp onto his back. "Welcome to Fairy Tail."
"Thanks Mira." Finnean said as he put his cloak back on.
"Please tell me you're not pulling a Gray." Laki said looking back at him with a frown.
"Not at all." Finnean said, pulling up his cloak to reveal his shirt was back on. "I was only doing that for the stamp."
"Good, I would prefer not to have a second Gray around." Schoena said before a coaster struck his back. "Ow!"
"I heard that!" Gray's voice echoed from the brawl.
Schoena muttered something and the coaster flew back into the brawl, striking someone else in the head.
"Apologies!" He shouted before going back to his book. "So blue, I would have figured violet."
"I do like the color, but the blue color brought something back. A feeling of comfort. I think it might have been a favorite color or something before Iost my memories." Finnean said, getting them both to nod.
"So what now?" Laki asked.
"Probably going to do some wondering around Magnolia to familiarize myself with before finding a place to stay the night. After that going to find do some jobs while finding a place to live." Finnean said.
"Same." Lucy said as she walked over to the pub with a smile. "Congrats on getting your mark Finnean."
"Thanks Lucy." Finnean said with a smile.
"If you're looking for a place to stay for the nights we actually have some rooms and cots in the back for guild members." Mira said with a smile, surprising both Finnean and Lucy.
"Really?" Finnean asks.
"Of course, sometimes there are circumstances where we guild members can't return home. You can stay at the guild hall, but there isn't that much room usually and with some circumstances excerpted after a week Master will ask for 800 Jewels a week unless you're on a job." Mira said, getting Lucy to nod.
"That sounds reasonable." She said with a nod.
She was only going to stay here for a day or two until she could find a house. That and would save up some much needed Jewels on stuff like hotel expenses.
"Alright, I'll show you two to the rooms latter." Mira said, getting them to nod before she walked down further along down the counter.
Finnean let out a relieved sigh that.
At least he had a place to stay for the night, and that would explain who could have been triggering Bad Dreams. While he was still figuring what was activating his magic like that since he first entered the guild hall earlier in the day, it as a minor annoyance at best now.
Still he had to wonder, just who could sleep that much if there was one person triggering his magic?
The screen flickered for a bit before the author reappeared with a wave.
*Hey guys Hakuorofan7 here and I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.*
*Decided to take some cues from the manga this chapter, and allowing everyone to get a chance to shine and showing off how well they can work together when the situation call for it.*
*Alongside Finnean cashing in a favor from Macao. In Fairy Tail he took Natsu's punishment and pretended to be him so he could go after Erza after Lullaby, properly returning the favor of Mt. Hakobe in the anime against Daphne. Here Finnean is actually for something fairy simple and just for some help seeing if he can do something. For what it is, well I'm certain you all can guess.*
*Finally he get's his guild mark and is currently staying in the guild until he can find his own place. Any suggestions are welcomed.*
*Next chapter will actually be the start of a new arc of my own writing actually, one that will focus on the other side of this crossover. A few days past and Finnean is adjusting to guild life. When some people come into Fairy Tail requesting a job, he recognizes something familiar and ends up going on his first job with some others onto it. Hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.*
*If you have any questions leave a review or PM me and I'll get tot you when I can. So until next time, ciao!*
The author waves goodbye as the screen fades to black.
