Lightning and Spark were home, Lightning was playing basketball outside with his teammates and friends. Ross and Chanler.
Chanler passed the ball to Lightning, Lightning made the three. Chanler high-fived him and they kept playing. Then Spark walked outside. "Dad!" he said, Lightning stopped playing and saw his son.
"Hey! What's up?"
"Dad, Dale is here with Liam and Matt," he said, walking back into the house.
Lightning walked in with the rest of his friends, he smiled as he saw him. "Hey, man!" Lightning said.
"What's up, dude?" he asked, hi-fiving him. Lightning had invited him also. Spark wanted to play with Liam and Matt on the PlayStation.
"I'm good, you wanna do something?"
"Sure, I have the Nintendo set up in the game room, so you wanna play Mario Kart?" Lightning asked.
"Sure, dude. Then we can watch Pokémon Journey's on Netflix." Lightning said. Dale nodded in agreement.
Lightning was texting Jordyn before they played, Dale was setting up the Switch, and Jordyn was telling Lightning that she was in a band and he and his son and friends should come and see them play. Lightning tells her that he plays guitar also. Jordyn told him that she wanted to come to one of his races one day, He agreed and loved her to be at one of his races.
Dale got the switch set up, Lightning still texted Jordyn, He looked at his friend. it was set up, he and Jordyn were still talking since the concert. Both Ross and Chanler walked upstairs and saw them setting up Mario Kart 8. "What's up, Lightning!" Ross said.
"Hey, guys! wanna play Mario Kart 8?" Dale asked.
"Yeah!" Ross and Chanler both said, Lightning grabbed two pro controllers for them and connected it to the switch. Chandler and Ross both sat on bean bag chairs. Then, Spark entered the room.
"Hey, Spark!" Ryan and Chanler both said, controllers in their hands. Spark saw them about to play Mario Kart. "Dad, can I play?" he asked. Lightning smiled and nodded, he gave his son joy cons with the joy-con controllers. all five of them began to play.
"Wait, where are Liam and Matt?" Dale asked.
"They're downstairs," he said as he chose Mario, Lightning chose Luigi, Chanler and Ryan both chose Bowser and Donkey Kong and Dale chose Fire Mario. After their characters were picked out, they raced on Mario Circuit. They were racing, Chanler was in the lead with Spark in second, Dale in third Ryan in fourth, and Lightning in last place.
Lightning picked up an Item Block, two circles, one smaller one on top and one bigger one was in the top left-hand side of the screen, the circles had a picture of a banana peel and a green shell on them. He pressed A to throw it at Dale. "Cheap shot, Lightning!" he said.
"Oh, heck no, you're not getting away from me, Earnhardt!" he said, as his character drove on the track. He drove faster to catch up with his kart to catch up to Lightning
"Come on, Lightning!" Chanler encouraged his friend, Lightning also passed his Son who was bumped back into third. He and Ryan were trying to catch up to each other. Dale then got an item block and threw it from behind.
It was lap five of five now, Lightning was in now in the lead. Dale was in second. He was determined to win this race. He got another item. it spun until he got a bomb.
"YES! I'm gonna spin you out, Dale!" he said, throwing at him, Fire Mario spun out, as Luigi took the win.
"I WON!" Lightning said Dale came in third, Ryan in second, Chanler in fourth, and Spark was in last.
"You did good, man," he said, Spark smiled at that. "Thanks, Ryan," he said. Lightning smiled and he got another text from Jordyn. Lightning smiled at what she sent.
"So, when are we gonna meet her?" Rayan asked.
"Soon, we're probably going out tonight for dinner."
"Ohhhh! McQueen has a date!" Chanler teased.
"Shut up, Smith!" he said, embarrassed.
"Okay, chill," Chanler said, putting his hands up in defense. Dale walked up to him.
"I'm happy for you, Lightning," Dale told him. Lightning nodded, "Thanks, dude." he said. "I'm happy for you too man. Hope you and Jordyn have fun if you know what I mean." Ryan said.
"Ryan, I swear to Arceus!" Lightning said, blushing.
"What-" he stopped to laugh. "What did I do?!"
"RYAN!" he said again.
"Okay, man. I'll stop teasing, wait until I tell the other guys." he said.
"Guys, I don't think that's a good idea. Dale said.
"You're right, bro. I'll stop," he said.
Lightning stopped at Jordyn's Apartment Complex, a large, sleekly designed high-rise building with a pool situated in the center of the scene. There are several people around the pool area, enjoying the outdoor space and taking in the view from the city skyline. The building appears to be surrounded by a lush green landscape, giving it a modern and sophisticated feel. In addition, there are a few cars parked near the building.
Lightning bought roses for her at Walmart on the way here. Lightning got out of the car and checked his phone for her apartment number. She texted him the number, Lightning passed the doorman and went to the elevator up to floor fifteen.
He arrived at her door and knocked on it. He held the bouquet in his hand and knocked. He wore a red T-shirt, black leather jacket along with his Pikachu tail necklace. a pair of jeans and a pair of light blue Air Forces. Lightning fixed his short/long hair and waited.
Lightning saw the door open up, Jordyn stood there wearing a black t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and a pair of bright red high-top Converse. "Hey, you look stunning," he said. Jordyn blushed.
"Well, you look handsome, Lightning."
Lightning smiled. "Thanks. You wanna go to dinner? oh yeah, these are for you. Lightning handed her the bouquet of roses for her. "For you," he said, extending his arm to give them to her.
"How'd you know these were my favorite?"
"I saw your tattoo of a rose on your arm. So, I assumed that you like roses."
"I love them, thank you, Lightning." she grabbed them from him and put them down, "I'll put them into some water when we get back. She stepped out and locked the door with her key.
They stepped into the elevator. A man living a few apartments down stood next to them. He had to do a double-take because he thought he saw Lightning McQueen standing in the elevator.
"Um…" The man started. "Are you Lightning McQueen?"
Lightning nodded and flipped his hair to the side. "Hi, what's your name?"
"Phil, I've been a fan of you since 2006."
"That's awesome, dude! do you want an autograph? I have some paper and a pen in my car."
"Please?"
"Oh, Jordyn. he's your date?" Phil asked. Jordyn smiled and nodded.
"Your dating Lightning McQueen?!" she nods again.
"Dude. that's awesome! Oh, I have a question for you. um…Did you and Sally…"
"No, um…. She passed away in a car accident last year," he said.
"Oh, I'm so sorry that happened, bet you Spark were devastated."
"He was, but he wanted me to keep going and find a new partner. But… I wasn't ready yet, but now I am and I'm happy." he said, Jordyn squeezed his hand Lightning smiled
They went to his car, Phil waited as he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. Lightning sighed his name and drew a little picture of Sonic The Hedgehog below his name then gave it to him.
He was ecstatic. "Thanks, Lightning! Your awesome!" he said, he put his pen back in the glove box and Lightning went to the other side to open the passenger side door for Jordyn. She smiled as he closed it. Lightning opened the driver's side door for himself he closed the door and started the engine, and the radio played ROCK 103. Jordyn and Lightning both put on their seatbelts and drove off to the restaurant.
When they got there, Lightning and Jordyn both entered the restaurant. The restaurant was Japanese-themed, A woman dressed in a flower kimono walked up.
"Hello. Table for two." Lightning said.
"Alright, follow me," she said as they walked up a few steps to their table. they were low to the ground, the chairs were replaced with pillows on the floor. Lightning took off his shoes and sat on the floor cross-legged. Jordyn did the same and sat next to him. Lightning and Jordyn looked at the menu and they picked what they wanted.
Lightning drove her back to her apartment. Lightning got out and they went inside the building. Jordyn grabbed her key fob and went to her floor.
Jordyn walked up to her apartment with Lightning and unlocked the door. They both walked into her apartment and turned on the lights. Lightning saw her apartment.
It was covered in hardwood floors and posters of bands on the walls. Lightning saw a Bring Me the Horizon poster hung up on the wall.
"So, what are we going to do?"
"Wanna watch Pokémon Secrets of the Jungle?" Jordyn asked.
"Oh, I love that movie! I watched it with Dale and Ryan," he said.
"Me too. did you watch Pokémon Journey's?"
"Yeah! I'm on Pokémon Ultimate Journey's. It's really good."
"It is! I'm done with the show, I finished it within two weeks."
"Two weeks?!"
"Being a race car driver doesn't mean I can't like other stuff too. Jordyn, I liked Sonic since I was a kid and I still do like Sonic," he said, smiling. "I bought Spark a new skateboard and it has Sonic on the bottom of it."
"That's so cool! you skateboard too? or it's just him?"
"I skate too. I also skate on the race track."
Jordyn realized something. "Wait. I saw a on ESPN when I was watching the NASCAR series, there was a guy in a red Nintendo racing suit skating by the pit garages. that was you?" she asked. Lightning nodded.
Jordyn was surprised by this. "That's awesome! what deck do you have?!"
"A Tony Hawk deck." Lightning said.
"That's cool, I've been skating too. And I'm in a band."
"Cool! What instrument do you play?"
"Guitar."
"Cool, I play Guitar too. And my friend, Dale. He plays drums."
"That's awesome! He's the man with the beard, right? he was with your son."
"Yeah, that's Dale."
"That's so cool! wait, Dale as in Dale Earnhardt Jr?"
"Yeah, that's the guy."
"That's awesome! I want to meet your friends, Lightning."
"Hey, you can come with me to my next race, my friends will be there. and you can meet my pit crew also They're really nice," he said.
"Alright, when is your next race?"
"It's in Chicago." he said, "I can order you a ticket."
"To the race?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said.
"Okay, when is the race? next week?"
"Yeah," he said.
"Okay," Jordyn said, smiling, Lightning smiled also.
