Chapter 6: Casita 2: Electric Boogaloo
After making the deal with Nezu, he left so the family could discuss a few other things. Namely explaining that there was a large group of heroes that saved him…
And that not all of them survived to save them.
"Someone died while saving you?" asked Alma shocked .
"Yeah…" sighed Bruno, "He got impaled, he managed to live for a bit but it wasn't enough…"
The room was quiet… After all from the sounds of it was a lot of heroes were involved and or one to have died…
"Has the funeral been held yet?" asked Alma.
"No…" said Bruno.
It was clear the family wanted to attend.
":When it happens I'll attend with you, since I know only a few of you understand Japanese." Said Rosetta, "You don't have to worry about paying me back, I do this sort of stuff for free…"
"You do?" asked Alma.
"Well not every time, I will do this for payment, but not this time." Said Rosetta, "It depends on the people I'm translating and the event I'm going to…"
Alma nodded, that she had any money, as the economy of the Encanto was much different than the outside after all.
There was also one more thing to do. Meet Eri. Unfortunately there was a problem with it… Namely there's the act that she had yet to regain consciousness as she still had a bit of a fever.
Also due to everything she was put into quarantine.
But they could see her through a window as she laid unconscious.
"She's beautiful." Said Alma.
"That poor girl." Said Julieta.
"Will you tell me what happened to her when you get out of here?" asked Pepa.
"I will don't worry." Said Bruno.
"What's that on her head?" asked Camilo.
"A horn." Said Bruno, "She's like a little unicorn."
"Aw…" gushed Luisa.
"You're going to have to get used to people like that." Said Rosetta.
"What do you mean?" asked Pepa.
"Some people don't look human… like Midoriya's classmates, one of them is a girl with pink skin, yellow eyes and horns and the other has a bird head." Said Rosetta, "And I'm sure there's more like that but I don't remember due to them not making the final round of the Sports Festival."
"You keeps bringing it up." Said Mirabel.
"Yeah… it's a big deal." Said Rosetta.
"I haven't watched for the past couple years but it's fun." Said Bruno.
Still there was a lot to do. The first thing they had to do was go back to the Encanto. Antonino was a five year old and it was just about time to go to bed.
They knew they had a lot to go through in the town to get to Japan.
Still they all went to bed as well…
After all it was a stressful day.
After all everything they thought they knew about the "Miracle" was false.
It was something else… something most of them were born with. That's why the three children had gifts, Mirabel just wasn't born with one, and Luísa's strength fading was just caused by stress.
Though with Luísa it was more of a relief, she had gotten so stressed and felt like the weight of the world was on her shoulders. The moment she heard the name Atlas Syndrome that was when she knew that was the case…
She knew her Greek Mythology after all.
But of course Alma was taking especially hard.
"Pedro…" whispered Alma looking at her locket, "Was everything I knew a lie? Was the miracle just me?"
Of course she got no answer.
In her room. Mirabel was trying to sleep.
She looked at the celling.
"Did you know you were Abuela's git the whole time?" asked Mirabel figuring it was a very good idea to talk to Casita.
Some nearby tiles shrugged, she could tell it was the house saying "Kind of…"
"You knew I just didn't have a gift…" said Mirabel.
Casita moved some parts as if saying "Yes I'm sorry…"
"And did you did you know Bruno was alive?" asked Mirabel.
Casita's walls seemed to sag a little, she realized it was the house saying "I thought he was dead…"
"Oh…" said Mirabel.
Casita knew that that things were going to change in very unexpected ways.
The next day was spent making plans and telling the Town's People about what was going on, that they were going to Japan for about a week in order to learn more about the truth of the gifts.
Many people in town were surprised about what they had learned about Gifts and they were far more common in other countries.
Though Camilo helped explain things used Mirio's appearance .
"See this guy was Shirtless because his shirt went through his body." Said Camilo who had turned into a shirtless Mirio.
Though when it was time to leave they had to give some bad news to Antonio.
"I can't bring any of my friends?" he asked.
"No I'm sorry… it's just that there are rules involving animals." Said Rosetta, "I you bring them they might get sick or they might make the animals there sick… If you have to stay longer than a week, I'll bring in a vet to give some of your friends shots."
"Plus you can make all sorts of new friends." Said Mirabel.
Antonio lit up at the thought of meeting new animal friends he couldn't make in the Encanto.
And so the hero duo took them the front of UA where Nezu and a very thin skeletal man had met them.
"It's good to see you once again!" greeted Nezu.
"Thank you helping us figure everything out." Said Alma.
"This is Toshinori Yagi. He is the only teacher that is fluent in Spanish." Said Nezu .
"It's nice to meet you." Said the man named Toshinori.
They noticed the international hero duo were gaping at Toshinori.
"Sorry for staring but looking at you." Apologized Rosetta.
"You are a scarecrow." Said Beringia.
Rosetta just face palmed at her partner.
"It just slipped out!" cried Beringia.
Toshinori looked at the duo not really surprised at their reactions.
"I know that some of you are Fluent in Japanese." Said Nezu.
"I've taught my wife and daughters Japanese." Explained Agustin.
"And I overheard all of the lesions." Said Dolores, "So I'm fluent as well."
"And I taught Antonio." Said Mirabel, "He's learned a lot."
"Young children do absorb languages much easier than adults." Said Nezu.
"So the rest of us will have to rely on translators." Said Alma.
Don't worry, I was planning to give all of you phones." Said Nezu, "With a translated app downlead. After all Spanish isn't a very common language to learn here. I know there's a few students that are fluent, but not many."
"So I'm going to be around kids my own age… all of have gifts and I won't understand any of them?" asked Camilo.
"I'm sorry… but the translator will help." Said Nezu.
Camilo pouted a little.
Nezu gave them all passed and the two led them through the school.
They at the moment would be staying at on an unused floor of the teacher's dorms.
As they were getting settled, Rosetta and Beringia had something for them. A rather large bottle of pills
"What is this?" asked Alma.
"It's a special pill that let your internal clocks readjust to the current time zone." Said Beringia.
"Though we should inform you…" said Rosetta, "It's made using the same processes at what was done to Eri."
"Wait these pills are made of people?" asked Mirabel.
"Yes, but it was humanly made… the man who it was made from is mentally and physically well from the process." Said Rosetta.
"Why did word it like that?" asked Isabela.
"Because the guy is a Douche Canoe and has been punched many times." Said Beringia.
"A what?" asked Camilo.
"It's an insult." Said Rosetta, "A fitting one.'
"Are you saying that just to make us feel better about using these pills?" asked Alma.
Bringer took out his phone and pulled up a video.
It was a man in his early 20s the look on his face screamed jerk.
"Hey party people! Its YA BOY R.A. I'm here in Africa! And I learned about how they have Propines here too! So I'm going to figure out a way to push Brad into them… again!" said the man on the video.
"We've met him before…" said Rosetta.
"I punched him… more than once…" said Bringer.
They didn't know how to react… though the screams of his friend Brad said everything.
"What the fuck man! Why do I hang out with you!"
"Because I'm loaded because of my parents and drug money!" mocked R.A. in the video.
"I can see why you punched him…" said Julieta
It was probably a good idea to tear that band-aid and to show them that they shouldn't feel sorry for the who's cells are being used for a drug… especially since it was clear he was making money from the drug unlike Eri who was tortured,.
And so the hero duo made their exit.
"We'll see you in a week at least." Said Rosetta, "And don't worry if you stay longer I will keep my promise Antonio."
Antonio nodded.
"Also Luísa, Julieta our nurse would like to see you to talk about your gits." Said Nezu.
"What do you mean?" asked Julieta.
"To get an official diagnosis as well as talking about your gift as well." Said Nezu "Apparently what you did to heal Midoriya has surprised doctors."
After they were settled in a bit, Nezu took the mother and daughter to the Nurse's office.
The nurse, a small old woman named Recovery Girl had given Luísa a long series of questions…
At the end of it, Recovery Girl sighed.
"So you do have Atlas Syndrome." Said Recovery Girl.
"I thought so…" said Luísa.
"(Why didn't you tell anyone?)" asked Julieta in Spanish
"(It's not important.)" Said Luísa.
"(You're running yourself ragged…)" sighed Julieta.
"Yes… I'm assuming that the chores you're doing back home are the main factor, until you recover you shouldn't go back home." Said Recovery Girl.
"Is that a good idea?" asked Luisa.
"A vacation is a common recovery method when it comes stress based conditions. I think a vacation here in Japan would be a good thing for you. I'm sure the students might be able to find ways to help you."
Luísa nodded.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" asked Julieta.
"Your quirk is the most powerful healing quirk I have ever seen, and is a quirk that hasn't been seen in years." Said Recovery Girl,. "There's someone else I wanted in this part of the conversation and hopefully he'll be here again."
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in." said Recovery Girl.
"You wanted to talk about something?" asked Izuku entering the room.
That was when he noticed Luísa and Julieta.
"Oh hello again!" said Izuku.
He blushed remembering they weren't from Japan.
"Oh I'm sorry you probably don't understand me and that Rosetta isn't here." Said Izuku then blushed even further.
"Hey, it's okay…" said Luisa, "We can understand you."
"Oh?" asked Izuku.
"My husband taught me and our daughters Japanese as way to share his side of the family's heritage." Said Julieta.
"I'm an 8th Japanese." Explained Luisa.
"Oh that's so cool!" said Izuku.
"Mi Madre, hermana, her esposo and my older sobrino are the only ones who don't know Japanese." Julieta.
"Really?" asked Izuku.
"Mother, sister, her husband and my older nephew." Cleared up Julieta realizing Izuku wouldn't know all of those words.
"So you wanted to talk about her healing me." Said Izuku.
"I did." Said Recovery Girl.
Izuku nodded.
"Thank you for yesterday… you were right." Said Luisa.
Izuku blushed.
"Your healing ability is beyond even my own…" said Recovery Girl.
"Honestly I thought one day I would lose the use my arms…" said Izuku.
"What?" asked Julieta.
"It's true." Sighed Recovery Girl, "That damage to his arms was irreversible… His ligaments were severally damaged… and your quirk revered it…"
Julieta was surprised.
"I do you want you completely heal him." Said Recovery Girl.
"Really?" asked Izuku.
"I also need to figure how it works." Said Recovery Girl.
"What do you mean?" asked Julieta.
"You see my ability uses the stamina of the person I'm healing." Said Recovery Girl, "There are other cases where it uses the energy of the user… however yours's doesn't fit into either category."
"Actually… I might have figured it out." Said Izuku taking out a notebook from somewhere.
The mother and daughter were confused by the fact it came from nowhere, while Recovery Girl had heard stories of the notebook.
And then they learned something else about Izuku… his mutter storms.
Whenever he'd get lost in thought he would mutter things a mile a minute. Often in one breath.
"IT makes sense where the energy comes from, after all the medium of the healing quirk is food. Which is the energy source that our bodies used, so that it would make sense that the calories and nutrients in the food is the energy source. Anything left over will still act as fuel for the body but it won't be nutritious as it usually be if they weren't sick or injured…." Muttered Izuku.
Julieta and Luisa stared at Izuku as he muttered unsure how to respond.
Recovery Girl had heard stories about it so she just ignored it.
Izuku managed to snap out of it.
"Oh sorry about that." Said Izuku.
"can you repeat that?" asked Julieta.
"Oh yeah." Said Izuku he managed to explain it better. Explaining how calories and nutrients were what fueled the healing process.
"You know… I should have realized it." Said Recovery Girl.
"You know that does explain something…" said Luísa.
"What?" asked Julieta.
"Why Pa isn't fat." Said Luísa.
Julieta sputtered, she wasn't expecting that.
"What?" asked both Recovery Girl and Izuku.
"Pa… is accident prone." Said Luisa, "She has to heal him all the time."
"Really now?" asked Recovery Girl.
She looked at the younger woman.
"Was he always accident prone?" asked Recovery Girl.
Julieta blushed, and Recovery Girl chuckled.
"Trust me, it's common for healers to get together with repeat visitors." She said.
Julieta blushed even further.
"I was wondering…" said Izuku, "Do you think she might be able to heal…"
Before he could finish his sentence, Recovery Girl interrupted saying, "I don't know if she can heal him."'
"What?" asked Julietta.
"I know Nezu introduced your family to him." Said Recovery Girl.
"Oh yeah! He's fluent in Spanish deciding to learn it during his time in America!" said Izuku.
"Are you talking about Señor Yagi?" asked Julieta.
"He is." Said Recovery Girl, "Years ago he got into a fight with a villain and his stomach and one of lungs were destroyed."
""Dios mio…" whispered Julieta.
"And he's still alive?" asked Luisa in awe.
"Because of the fact that he can only eat so much in a single day and his doesn't have a stomach it would be extremely difficult for you to heal him." Said Recovery Girl.
"I would like to try though." Said Julieta.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised with Julieta stayed at UA a while longer for certain reasons.
"We'd have to come up with a plan." Said Recovery Girl, "But for him… you should fix him as soon as possible."
Izuku blushed at this.
"Now that he has his Quirk under control it would be a good thing to get his body at 100 percent." Said Recovery Girl.
Izuku just covered his ace in embarrassment.
"Of course I was planning to heal him again, since I wasn't able to complete heal him before." Said Julieta.
"Thank you so much!" said Izuku.
"You don't need to thank me." Said Julieta.
She led Izuku to the dorms they were using. The staff dorms were much larger than the student dorms, and thankfully the rooms had televisions, in the room Julieta and her Agustin was using they had decided to try watching something altogether.
Unfortunately they were watching a game show confused… it was a very confusing thing.
"(What are they doing now?)" asked Camilo.
"(Their having a foot race)." Said Mirabel.
"(Why are they dressed like eggs?)" asked Felix.
"(They didn't explain that part…)" said Agustin.
Though Alma and Dolores weren't watching the TV. She was just trying to figure out how to build the second Casita.
And Dolores as just trying to drown out the noise she was hearing.
That was when the door opened and Julieta, Luisa and Izuku returned.
"Hello again!" said Izuku.
"Oh here!" said Mirabel surprised.
"The nurse wanted to finish his healing." Said Julietta.
Izuku looked at the TV.
"What are you watching?" asked Izuku.
He looked at the screen and saw it was a game show.
"Can I see the remote?" asked Izuku.
He knew that foreigners would be confused by Japanese Game Shows, but looked through the menu and found something that was considered universal… a Disney classic, the Little Mermaid.
As it turned out it was something that Alma had seen before the Encanto was built.
"(I remember seeing this movie…)" she said when she noticed the channel had changed.
"(You did?)" asked Pepa.
"(I remember seeing with your father…)" she said.
Even if it was in a language she didn't understand, she still wanted to watch it as she never thought she would see it again.
Izuku noticed that Dolores was covering her ears.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"There's someone keeps yelling and screaming and there are explosions surrounding him." Said Dolores.
"Is he screaming "Die!" and screaming curse words?" asked Izuku.
Dolores nodded knowing that it was probably someone that Izuku knew.
Izuku sighed, "I'm sorry… I'd tell him to go easy… but he wouldn't listen to me…" he explained.
"That sounds about right because he yelled "Don't tell me what to do!" a few times…" said Dolores.
"Yeah… that's Kacchan for you…" said Izuku.
"Kacchan?" asked Dolores.
"That's what I call him." Said Izuku.
"You call someone yells that Kacchan?" asked Dolores.
"It's complicated…" sighed Izuku.
"Izuku… right?" asked Julieta as she had finished making an arepa for Izuku, "Bruno mentioned that your classmates helped out with the rescue."
"Oh yeah." Said Izuku, "You want to meet them?"
Julieta nodded.
"Okay… but it will have to be later." Said Izuku.
"You can come to dinner." Said Julieta.
"I don't know if everyone can come but it would be nice.": said Izuku.
Julieta nodded.
He actually took out his phone and texted, his three classmates and Mirio (as he would have the information for his year mates who participated).
She gave him the arepa, which he gladly ate.
"Thank you so much!" said Izuku bowing many times.
Julieta was told that bowing was a way to thanking someone in Japan and laughed.
"You really don't have to thank me…" said Julieta.
"I guess…" Izuku said nervously.
That was when a sound on Izuku's phone went off. IT was a text requesting him to return to the dorms.
"Oh I'm. sorry I have to go meet someone!" said Izuku.
"It's fine!" said Julieta..
Izuku left the room, though several members of the family watched him leave… then he came back into the room rather sheepishly.
"What time should we be here?" he asked.
She gave him the time and then he left again.
"(We're going to be seeing him a lot, aren't we?)" asked Camilo.
"(Yeah… we are…)" said Mirabel.
"(I'm pretty sure he's made of sunshine.)" said Luisa.
Dolores breathed a sigh of relief.
"(The explosions stopped)." She said.
At Class 1-A's dorm, almost all of the students had gathered.
A blonde boy walked in grumbled with a boy with spikey red hair and pointy teeth following him.
Their homeroom teacher, a man with long black hair was waiting nor all of the students to be in the common room. He was Aizawa.
That was when Izuku came into the room.
"All right! Everyone is here… I have a special announcement to make." Said Aizawa, "I'm sure you heard about the recent raid that Midoriya, Kirishima, Uraraka and Asui participated in."
Most of the class nodded.
"Well during the raid a man was rescued, it turned out he came from a village in Colombia that didn't know what Quirks were and thought his abilities were magic. His family has been brought from Columbia learn more about Quirks and are staying at UA. So just be aware of their presence and that some of them don't speak Japanese."
"Some of them?" asked a girl that was invisible.
"One of his brothers-in-law is part Japanese and taught the language to most of the family." Said Izuku.
"How the fuck do you know that?" asked the blonde boy.
"Oh that's because I met them a couple times already." Said Izuku, "That's why I was called to Recovery Girl… to talk to a couple of them…"
"Really why?" asked a girl who had brown bob and round cheeks.
"One of his sisters' quirks is a really powerful healing quirk." Said Izuku.
"How powerful?" asked a boy whose hair was half red and white and had mismatched eyes as well, there was a massive burn skar on his face.
Izuku held up his hand and everyone was shocked at the fact it was completely healed.
"My arms are completely healed." He said.
Everyone is surprised, even Aizawa didn't know this.
"Wait! That mean you don't have to worry about losing the ability to use them?" asked the girl with the brown bob.
Izuku nodded.
"Well if he doesn't slip into bad habits…" said the half and half boy.
"He hasn't broke his bones in a long time." Said a tall boy with dark blue hair and glasses.
Izuku sighed, of course they were going to make fun of that.
"Still…" said Aizawa, "Just be aware just in case you run into them."
"Um… also they invited, myself, Uraraka, Tsu and Kirishima to dinner tonight." Said Izuku.
Aizawa sighed, "Fine since it's on campus, just be back before curfew." He sighed.
"So are you coming?" asked Izuku.
"Oh yeah!" said the girl with a brown bob, who was named Ochaco Uraraka.
"It sounds nice… ribbit…" said a girl with long green hair and resembled a frog.
"Oh yeah! It sounds pretty manly!" laughed the boy with red hair.
As it turned out Mirio was discussing with his friends about it, who agreed to come.
Back in the dorm that the Madrigals were at…
"(We're expecting 7 guests.)" Sad Dolores told Julieta.
Julieta smiled.
With the others they still watching the movie.
"(You know Pepa… after you three were born Pedro suggested because of your red hair we should name you Ariel instead…" Alma told her daughter with a sad smile.
Pepa smiled, though as it was something she never heard about her father.
Which did make some sense why she never heard the story before… This was the first time shew was seeing this movie… or any movie and even if it was in a language she didn't know thanks to Alma's memory she was able to explain the story.
Not too long later the family was getting ready for Dinner.
As they were having a lot of guests.
Though they were some problems setting the table.
Mainly the fact that Luísa couldn't grab the table.
"(So she does have that condition that boy mentioned?)" asked Alma.
"(That's right and the nurse says no chores until she's better.)" said Julieta.
"(I'm just worried about when you go back… I mean I haven't gotten the chance to reroute the river…)" said Luísa.
"(Reroute the what now…)" said Pepa.
"(Someone asked you to do that?)" asked Alma shocked by that idea.
"(They did.)" said Luísa.
"(You are not doing that when you get back home!)" yelled Pepa as a small storm brew ed over her head, "(I'm going find out who gave that request and give them a good talking to!")
"(But…)" said Luisa.
"(No Pepa is right, the Town's people need to come up with other solutions than just rerouting the river…)" said Alma.
"(Maybe when Luísa gets her strength back there should be a new rule where they go to you for requests unless it's an emergency.)" suggested Mirabel to Alma.
"(You don't have to worry about the Donkeys anymore.)" pointed out Antonio.
"(I know.)" said Luísa.
"(Rerouting the river affects the entire town…)" pointed out Alma, "(Just because someone asks you to do something like that, doesn't mean you should… I will take your suggestion Mirabel… because if people have such selfish requests, I now understand why you're sick…)"
Luísa nodded.
That was when there was a knock on the door.
Mirabel decided to get due to the fact she around their and she was fluent in Japanese.
It was Izuku and his classmates.
"Hola!" greeted Mirabel, "Welcome to our temporary home!"
"Thank you for having us for dinner." Said Ochaco.
"All of you helped Tio Bruno and Eri." Said Mirabel.
"(hey can one of you help with this thing?)" asked Camilo holding up the phone he was given knowing the dinner would need a translator.
Izuku took it and noticed the translation app.
He activated it and thankfully the presets were already Spanish to Japanese.
"It should work now." Said Izuku thankfully the translation kicked in with the phone speaking in a female voice translating the words.
"(Thank you… better than nothing…)" said Camillo.
That was when there was a knock the door.
Mirabel answered the door once again, this time of course it was Mirio with a boy with pointed ears like an elf and dark indigo hair and girl with long periwinkle hair.
"Thank you having us for dinner!" said Mirio.
"(All of helped save my son and my granddaughter, it's an honor having you here for dinner.)" said Alma which of course got translated.
"(That's going to get old fast…)" said Camilo.
Of course they introduced themselves, with the members of Izuku's class giving their names.
But things got interested when Mirio's friends introduced themselves.
"I'm Nejire Hado!" introduced the girl then she began to rattle of a bunch of questions very quickly., "So you're from Colombia! That's in South America! You drink a lot of coffee right? Do you grow your own coffee? Oh do you see monkeys a lot and capybaras? Oh is it weird to have summer in December and Winter in July?"
The Madrigals family just stared at Nejire.
With the questions being so fast that the translator app couldn't keep up.
"(What is she asking?)" Felix asked his daughter.
"(Just a bunch of random things.)" said Dolores.
"Nejire, can you calm down?" asked Tsuyu.
"Oh yeah!" said Nejire.
They all looked at the last one.
He looked at the family…
Then he went into the corner repressed.
"I can't do it… I just want to go home…" said the boy, "Trying to visualize them as potatoes still isn't working…"
Most of the Madirgal family just stared at the boy, however Isabela giggled at the boy.
Mirabel just rolled her eyes at her sister's reaction to the boy.
Thanks to some help from Mirio (who he was childhood friends with) and Eijiro (as the two had gotten to know each other as they worked for the same hero) the boy managed to finally introduce himself.
"I'm Tamaki Amajiki." He introduced.
The family of course introduced themselves. Agustin explained what the food was.
During this time they all noticed that Camilo had filled his plate a lot.
"Oh do you need to eat a lot?" asked Izuku.
"(Why?)" responded Camillo.
"Well if you eat a lot it might your quirk's drawback… but I don't know what is it so maybe…' said Izuku.
Camillo smirked and then instantly transformed into a copy of Izuku, clothes and all.
"Oh you can transform." Said Izuku.
He then transformed into a shirtless Mirio and laughed.
"(Camilo… not at the dinner table.)" scolded Alma.
He turned back into himself and pouted a little.
"You're not surprised he turned into a shirtless version…" said Mirabel.
"You don't want to know, ribbit." Said Tsuyu.
"(But tell us more about these drawbacks…)" said Alma.
"A lot of quirks have drawbacks." Said Izuku, "Like how I mentioned that if I use too much power I break my bones…"
"I can't hear, see or breathe when I use my quirk." Said Mirio, "Light, sound and air pass through me along with physical objects."
"I get really nauseous if I use my quirk for too long or lift too much weight…" said Ochaco.
"Lift too much weight?" asked Luisa.
Ochaco touched an empty cup with all five of her fingers and it started to float.
"(That explains Pepa…)" said Alma .
"(Can you not say that outload?)" muttered Pepa as a small cloud appeared over her head.
"(Pepa… Cloud…)" scolded Alma.
Pepa rolled her eyes shooing away the cloud.
"It's her emotions…" explained Dolores.
The UA all nodded.
"So do any of you have any drawbacks?" axed Izuku.
"No… I don't think so." Said Antonio.
"his gift came in recently." Said Dolores, "And I have so many problems…"
"Super hearing quirk.." said Izuku.
The others how didn't know this nodded, as many hearing quirks did have drawbacks.
"I don't have any problems with my gift." Said Isabela brushing her hair over her shoulder.
Mirabel rolled her eyes.
'What about you Mirabel…" said Izuku.
"Oh you don't want to hear about me…" said Mirabel in a tone that said she was hiding something.
"Are you sure?" asked Izuku.
Before Mirabel could answer.
"She can't have a drawback to something she doesn't have." Said Isabel.
"What?" asked Eijiro.
"Isabela!" hissed Mirabel.
"What? And let you dodge everything? I heard about when you told you the town children about our family and avoided yourself as much as possible." Said Isabela, "I wasn't going to let you do the same here…"
Mirabel glared harshly at his sister.
Mirabel also noticed that Izuku was glaring harshly at Isabela as well.
"You're Quirkless?" asked Eijiro.
Mirabel sighed.
"Hey it's pretty manly." Said Eijiro.
"It's rare here." Said Ochaco, "But it's not a problem… you can still amazing things."
"TI have a friend named Melissa who doesn't have a quirk, and she helped us a lot during a trip." Said Izuku.
"If it weren't for her we wouldn't have been able to get the heroes freed." Pointed out Ochaco.
"I didn't know you were involved with the I-Island incident." Said Mirio.
"Actually I was stuck in the hotel room with Mina and Hagakure playing Uno." Said Tsuyu.
"Well most of you…" said Tamaki.
"What is the I-Island incident?" asked Agustin wanting to get the conversation away from his daughter's lack of quirk/gift.
They told the story about how there was a place called I-Island and how during an expo all of them attended a group mercenaries took over the island and how they ended up having to find a way to free the heroes so they could stop them.
It was an interesting story, with Izuku teaming up with a hero named All Might to help stop the main mercenary.
Though after they were done with the story, Luísa wanted to know if they knew ways to de-stress.
"IS there are reason why you need to know?" asked Nejire.
"I have atlas syndrome." Sighed Luísa.
"Atlas Syndrome?" asked Nejire.
"It's where someone with a strength quirk loses it due to stress or other reasons." Explained Izuku.
Those that didn't know what it was flinched.
"(I misjudged the type of chores she was doing…)" Alma said rather quietly.
"Um… do you have any ideas?" asked Izuku.
"I've heard stories about amusement parks…" said Luisa, "I've always wanted to go to one are there any nearby?"
"There's plenty!" said Mirio.
"There's quite a few and even more around Tokyo and Osaka." Said Izuku.
"Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are amazing… Ribbit…" said Tsuyu.
"Plus Universal Studios Japan is really fun!" said Mirio.
"Also do you like cats?" asked Izuku.
"Cat cafes would be a good way." Said Ochaco.
"Cat cafes?" asked Luisa.
"It's a place where you pet cats and relax." Said Izuku.
"Though I could probably do that here and have Antonio bury me in cats." Said Luísa.
"Oh that sounds fun!" said Antonio.
"We can probably get Koda to help you with that." Said Ochaco.
"Does he talk to animals too?" asked Antonio.
"He does and he has a pet bunny." Said Ochaco.
Antonio's eyes lit up hearing that.
A few more things were talked about and dinner was slowly wrapping up.
As there were a few conversations going Mirabel wanted to ask Izuku privately.
"Hey… I was wondering why did you glare at Isa?" asked Mirabel.
"Oh…" said Izuku.
He knew should come clean… or rather the version of coming clean he could say…
"Something I don't really like getting around is that everyone thought I was Quirkless growing up…" he admitted.
Mirabel's eyes winded .
"Until earlier, I didn't have my quirk… it's one of the main reasons why I couldn't control it." Said Izuku.
"And you kept breaking your bones." Said Mirabel.
"Yeah…" said Izuku, "Though the worst of my injuries came after I learned to control it but I had to use more power than my body could handle."
Mirabel nodded.
"But I know what's it's like." Sighed Izuku, "Even if you're dad and uncle don't have quirks… I know… to watch everyone around you are such amazing powers… while you have nothing…"
Mirabel looked at the boy in front of him and ruffled his hair.
"That does explain a few things." Said Mirabel with a smile.
"What?" asked Izuku.
"Never mind." Said Mirabel.
"Hey! Deku! It's almost time to leave!" called out Ochaco.
"Okay!" said Izuku.
"Thanks." Said Mirabel.
Izuku smiled at Mirabel and the two could tell that they had become good friends.
"Also Dolores probably heard you." Said Mirabel.
"I know…" sighed Izuku.
Later that night Mirabel was having problems sleeping so she got up from her bed.
The room she was sharing was with Antonio, as they shared a room until recently and without his animal friends he was lonely.
She looked at him and smiled and left the room.
She knew she couldn't got out far as they were warned that there was a security system that might maitake them for students and not guests so she couldn't leave the budling.
However that was when she noticed the lights on in the room that Alma was using.
She knocked on the door and it soon opened.
"Mirabel?" asked Alma.
"I couldn't sleep." Said Mirabel.
"I couldn't either…" sighed Alma.
She let Mirabel into her room.
"Is everything all right?" asked Mirabel.
"I don't know how I'm going to build a second Casita." Said Alma, "I always thought it was a Miracle gifted to us… but it was my power all along…"
Mirabel looked at her grandmother.
"Maybe the key is love…" said Mirabel.
Alma's eyes widened.
"You lost Abuelo in that moment and all you wanted to do is to protect your children…" said Mirabel remembering the story by heart.
And that was when something else hit Alma. When Mirabel's door vanished she felt her love with Mirabel wane just a little bit and that was when the candle flicked… when was worried about the miracle.
And that thought hit her hard…
"You're right…" she whispered.
What she didn't know was back home, the candle there started to shine a lot brighter and Casita could feel that Alma realized what truly powered everything.
"I think I know what to do…" said Alma.
"Should I get a candle?" asked Mirabel.
"It can wait until tomorrow morning." Said Alma.
Mirabel nodded. After breakfast she decided to check on the Class 1-A dorms to see if anyone she knew was there.
She knocked on the door and the tall boy.
"Oh hello you must be a member or the family from Columbia." Said the boy as he chopped the air for reason, "I am Tenya Iida… it is nice to meet you."
"I am… is Izuku here?" asked Mirabel.
"Yes, I will go fetch him." Said the boy named Tenya.
Mirabel stared as the boy left.
And soon Izuku was there.
"Good Morning Mirabel." Said Izuku.
"Good morning..,. is that guy okay?" asked Mirabel.
"Yeah… he's fine." Said Izuku, "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah… I need to figure out where to get a candle I don't know how to get one." Said Mirabel.
"You don't have money do you?" asked Izuku.
"No unfortunately." Said Mirabel.
Thankfully Izuku had a solution.
"Well you will have to pay in food if she agrees…" said Izuku.
"What?" asked Mirabel.
"I'll be right back." Said Izuku.
He left and a minute later he came back with a rather tall girl with a large black ponytail.
"Hi." said Mirabel.
"My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, it's nice to meet you." Said the girl named Momo, "So you need a candle. Does it have to specific?"
Mirabel remembered hearing about her in the story the night before.
"It should be this tall and this wide." Said Mirabel.
"Any color?" asked Momo.
"White." Said Mirabel.
Momo nodded and lifted her shirt.
Mirabel was confused then suddenly a candle the perfect size popped out of her stomach.
"Here you go." Said Momo, "If you want to pay me back, it should be in food, Uraraka and Kirishima did say you mother is an excellent cook."
"Of course!" said Mirabel, "Thank you!"
"Abuela is going to use this to see if she build a second Casita." Said Mirabel, "It's a long story…"
"Yeah, you're going to have to explain later."
"I will don't worry and I'll bring plenty of food for you." Said Mirabel.
Momo nodded.
Mirabel was about to leave, when she nearly crashed into the half and half boy.
"Oh I'm sorry…" said Mirabel.
"It's fine…" said the boy.
The boy watched her leave.
"That was the one of the family members from Columbia." Said Momo.
"I see…" said the Half and Half boy.
Not to long later, they all gathered.
It was a spot that Nezu was letting them use.
"Hopefully the fact that the candle was created by someone gift won't affect it." Said Mirabel.
"I'm sure it will be fine." Said Alma.
She looked at her family, and thought about the love she had for them… then lit the candle. As the fire flared suddenly a bright light shined from it, and the light a second Casita was built from nothing.
Everyone was surprised by this. Alma looked at the candle instead of one butterfly on the candle there were two smaller ones.
She knew it meant because it was her second candle.
They all entered the second Casita in awe. They knew they had to check out their rooms.
They all went to check their rooms.
However they were all surprised when they got there.
For Mirabel instead of a small nursery that she lived in, it was a much larger room. She knew what it meant… this was meant to be a room, while not gift related, this was meant just for her. Though it was empty, due to the fact there no future… which meant she needed to decorate it.
"Mirabel!" called out Antonio, "You have to see this!"
She ran towards her youngest cousin room.
However things got a bit awkward as his animal friends were in there…
"You can't come out here or else you might get sick." Said Antonio.
The animals were sad that.
"How are they here?" she asked.
"There's a second door!" said Antonio.
"Wait you mean…" said Mirabel.
She went into the jungle filled room and there were two doors in the room.
"Both Casitas are connected." Said Mirabel.
That was when she heard some clattering outside.
"Oh you have the same memories?" asked Mirabel.
Parts of the house moved around as if saying "yep!".
Mirabel and Antonio followed where Casita wanted them to go.
As it turned out Casita also alerted Alma this.
There was another new door on the first floor. A door with a glowing "Encanto" written on it. They opened it and indeed it led to the original Casita.
"(We don't have to choose.)" Said Mirabel in Japanese.
Alma knew that there was good chance that Bruno would want to stay in Japan, or at least stay or a while longer, especially since Eri wouldn't get out of the hospital for a while.
And with the fact that all of the Gift Rooms were connected to both versions of Casita and there was a door that weren't connected to the two rooms meant that they didn't have to choose where to live. They could live in both countries at the same time…
Though there was the hassle of the two countries being on opposite sides of the world.
Things were going to change for the family big time. And it would changes that none ever expected…
Next Time: The Madrigals adjust to the new interjected Casitas. At the same time the Madrigal Grandchild meet all of Class 1-A... what will happen? Find out next time!
A/N: I have to come to the realization that Alma would probably be against Luisa rerouting the river. It affects the whole town. I kind of want to see an AU where finds out about the request, initially upset that someone asked for a request that would affect the whole town for more than likely selfish reasons and then slowly comes to realizes just how much a slave Luisa is to the town... Now excuse me I have to go to TV tropes to a certain WMG page...
