Note: Leo is written as male, and reader is written as female. This is my first reader fanfic, I hope it's good for a first one!

After spending a few hours in an undiscovered temple somewhere in Tiwanaku, you believe that all your muscles sores and sweat are starting to pay off. You were able to document unheard stories about the Tiwanaku Empire that collapsed due to natural causes hundreds of centuries ago.

For once, you think that everything was finally sailing smoothly! Your trip to Bolivia to prove your fellow explorer friends that Tiwanaku isn't a hundred percent discovered yet will be a success once you get out of the temple in one piece!

Confidently walking through the last hallway that you haven't explored yet, you start to hear voices from afar; which also seems to come from where you're going towards. You keep your head up, and start walking slowly. You point your flashlight towards the floor so it potentially doesn't catch their attention.

"This is all is amazing!" A man exclaims. "Judging by the looks of it, seems like no one found this place yet."

"And that seems like another land attached to your name, dad." The other chuckles. So it's a father and son that's exploring this whole place that also isn't aware that you were in here all along,

However, you can't let them be the first ones to expose this place. You know that all your travel expenses are put into this trip, so of course you also need to profit back from it. Which goes for every other archaeologist out there.

As careful as you can, you try to peak from a wall to look at the structure of the area. You note that the place is significant as it seems to be a place for ceremonies. Stone sculptures of what seemed to be deities are made as pillars to hold the ceiling up.

"Oh, and what's this?" The son asks. You also get curious, so you try to stick your head out a little more to make out what the young man is holding.

The father looks at his son, and rushes to him as he takes the artifact from him. Fully examining it with his eyes and hands. "The Blade of Akapana… Named after one of Tiwanaku's most famous pyramids, this particular one is a big deal due to the inscription on the blade itself."

"Then, that must mean its story must be in the inscriptions?" The son also looks over the blade. The father replies. "Most possibly. But it could also be names of those who wield it."

They continue to talk about the blade, writing notes for themselves as well as taking photos of the place.
You, who was just peeking at the wall, seeing them making a big discovery, leaves you at a big disadvantage at this rate. It's basically cheating that you spent so many hours trying to find something, and yet someone just gets to it first by sheer luck!

You think of what to do to possibly reclaim this discovery for your own. But you realize that you haven't took photos of this place yet for documentary.

You take out your phone and set the camera at a nice angle, while also making sure the two party crashers aren't part of the photo.
But as soon as you take the photo, the shutter clicks and echoes in the whole place. You completely forgot to mute your phone during your exploration. Yet another misfortune to add in for today.

The two explorers get alerted and look around warily. "Who's there?!" The father exclaims.

"Tsk." Disappointedly, you quickly mute your phone and tuck it safely in your pocket. You have to snatch that blade from them. You feel the need to have it for yourself. It's gonna be one of your best artifacts once you have yourself credited for your solo expedition to the depths of Tiwanaku!

You take a deep breath, and wear your hard gloves so you won't wound yourself as you prepare to dash to the father, who's holding the blade.

I'm sorry, dear explorers. But this information is mine!

From behind, you dash towards the father and swiftly take the blade from him. But as you run towards the extended hallway, you realize that the man wasn't just any explorer. He looked similar to one of the world's best archaeologists out there!

"Sorry guys!" You say as you run further away from them. "I can't let you have this one!"

They were both dumbfounded, but the son instantly acts. "Dad, I'll handle this! You go find an escape route!" He yells as he starts running and trailing you down.
The father yelled something back, but you couldn't hear it. You were getting farther away, and you know your main concern is the man chasing you now.

"I was here first, so only I deserve a hold of this place!" You say as you instinctively jump over debris of rocks that block the way to the exit. You can hear the man's footsteps nearing you, so you try to look for other paths to shake him away.

"Too bad, you're dealing with one of the best explorers in here!" He says in a tone filled with confidence. "We can possibly talk about halving the credit, as long as you—"

"Nope!" You smirk while tightly holding the blade. "This expedition is mine!"

He senses your honest explorer's spirit and replies. "I guess I'm gonna have to take it with my own hands!"
The man starts catching up to you and was able to stop in front of you. You try to stop on your feet, but you go a bit off balance. You catch yourself standing, but it was enough for you to remove your focus from your hand that holds the blade.

He notices this, and quickly reaches his hand out to take the blade from you. But you come back to your senses and strongly kick him back!

But then you realize that you just kicked a guy that was willing to negotiate with you. Both of you stand in shock. Although he was pushed back, that kick probably felt like nothing to him due to his calm composure. "Well, two can play that game." And with that, he prepares into his fighting stance.

And as he does, you find yourself gazing at him. Shining blonde hair, paired with ice blue eyes. All strongly contrasted by his vivid red coat and spelunking gear, you just can't believe that he still looks handsome and proper despite the numerous expeditions this man had already went though.

More importantly, now knowing that this is the child of the world famous explorer Niklas Kliesen. This man must be…

As you're caught off guard, Leo moves forward with a kick aimed back at you. And at the last second, you block it. "Mr. Leo Kliesen, am I correct?" You follow up with a fast punch and hook. Strong isn't exactly what describes you, but your speed knows no bounds!

However, he blocks the punch and was able to parry your hook. "Certainly, but I haven't heard of you before."
He was about to hit you with a knee strike, but you were able to create distance. You don't actually do serious archaeology work, but you sure do love exploring undiscovered places that you can sometimes make money off of it.

"The name's [Y/N], and I'm sorry that this is our first introduction." You chuckle as you duck and sweep him off his feet in a sharp second. Leo safely falls onto the ground, taken aback as you run towards the end of the hallway. "I guess I'll see you again some day!"

And as you run, he gets back up on his feet and aims his grappling gun towards the exit. "Oh no you don't!" He says as he launches the gun and takes you off the the ground with his arm, effectively taking you with him towards the exit.
You wouldn't know that for how lean he is, he's actually pretty damn strong!

With no choice but to avoid falling and hitting your head on rocks, you hold on to Leo as you two go closer towards the exit.
But all of a sudden, his dad Niklas appears just at the exit. "Leo, come quick—"

And the three of you shout in shock as you and Leo unintentionally hit Niklas due to the speed of the grappling gun's pull. Leaving you three comically on top of each other like pancakes.

It would be nice to act all comical too, but you remember that you have an important artifact with you that they want. So you immediately get up and start running away from them and towards the motorbike you parked somewhere near there.

Leo and Niklas finally get up and watch you take your victory, running as fast as you can.
Leo, by instinct, yells towards you. "Let's keep in touch!"

Fortunately, his voice was loud enough that you were able to catch it. Happily, you yell back. "Sure thing! Nice finally meeting you!" Smiling as you've made yourself a great and lucky day.

Writer's Note: Thanks for reading! I would maybe expand on this as a full reader fanfic, but we'll see sometime soon.
