Summary: How the Daughters of Aku came to be.

Author's Notes: This is more biography style than slice-of-life because there's much to cover. So no talky-talky, just like the show. Very to-the-point. Might add additional chapters going in-depth about specific parts but nothing is on the plate right now.

Before the birth of Aku, there was the Great Black Mass. The evolving species that would end as Homo Sapien did not know what this thing was, but that it was ever present, and that it hungered for the living. No matter how many stones they threw at it, how many attempts to set fire to the Great Black Mass, it did not die.

As humanity evolved, so too did their simplistic understanding of the Great Black Mass. The Great Black Mass would grow over time. Some cultures created religion around the Great Black Mass, believing that human sacrifice would keep the Great Black Mass at bay, in hopes that it wouldn't extend to their farmlands and kill their crops as it had done to others. When the Great Black Mass eventually did kill another person's farmland, it could be blamed that they had not prayed enough to the Great Black Mass or they had done something at some point to displease it, thus their precious crops destroyed.

These religious bodies continued to exist well after Aku came into being, because word back in the day took time to spread. Even after the news of Aku reached these civilizations, people took it as a sign that the Great Black Mass had evolved from an earthly form to its true deitic proportion.

There were a few bodies that continued to worship Aku, but worship of the demon as either Aku or the Great Black Mass fell out of favour due to the truly destructive nature of Aku. It was said the last surviving member worshipping Aku passed around three hundred years after Aku's rise from the Great Black Mass.

She was born to a litter of six healthy babies. Five of them didn't know their father well, for he was at work all of the time. Her mother was able to take care of only two consistently; the other four had lackluster care. The one who knew their father well was Her. She told Her mother that Her father was sexually molesting her and Her mother said that Her mother's father had done it to her and she was just fine, so there was no harm to it. So She never believed there was anything wrong with it, either.

Her sisters weren't a part of Her life, having gone their own ways to be more successful or die somewhere. She didn't know. She never kept contact after their mother died.

When She was fourteen, She met a man who took Her off of the streets. He took care of Her for six months, involving Her in the prostitution sex industry in order to bring in more money. Eventually, he got Her pregnant.

Aku's reach was world-wide. He had infected every part of the world with His satellite trees in order to keep an eye on His collective. Aku was radioactive. Radioactive isotope identification showed that His presence profoundly impacted the fertility rates of the living creatures on Earth. For humans, instead of having one or two kids, one could end up having five or six children in one pregnancy.

The man She was with wanted Her to abort the pregnancy for he couldn't afford to take care of so many children. She wanted to keep the kids. They had an argument; She left in the early morning when he was still asleep.

She took refuge in an abandoned milk factory, surviving on the lucrative money received from prostituting Herself to clientele who had a fetish for pregnancy. She never went cold for the factory was in the heart of Aku's thrumming megacity, so it was hot year round. She delivered a litter of eight, one stillborn, months into Her residency. Six females, two males (one stillborn). For two years, She stayed inside to tend to seven infants, living off of the money She'd made. She would leave only to get food or toys. The children were never clothed until they were five, as Her mother had done when She was certain they would survive. They never went to school. They roamed the junkyard adjacent to the milk factory and would run straight home if they ever saw a living thing, as She instructed.

Eventually, the money would run out. She started teaching the children how to prostitute themselves, as children were a premium on the prostitution market. She contracted with an alien who specialized in it so that Her children would be safe during the transactions. She Herself would attempt to reenter the prostitution market, but Her body was so destroyed by carrying eight children that Her market value was next to nothing. She would get clients here and there, but She relied more on the income that Her children brought in. She found a job working as a barkeep to a dingy hole-in-the-wall bar on the outskirts of Aku's city. This was where She would spend most of Her time and would bring the children in to hang out as well.

Her children were sixteen. The surviving male and one female had disappeared; whether they moved on in life or were abducted, She didn't know, but She tried assuming they were looking for a better life.

She was finished with Her shift at the bar and was having drinks with the current barkeep (Her friend of two years whom She could tell Her deepest secrets to) when a large alien over twice Her height attempted to proposition Her for sex. She hadn't done prostitution in years, so She declined. The alien got physical with Her. The barkeep tried to defuse the situation, but as he was much smaller than the alien, there was nothing he could do.

Suddenly, the alien was dead and on the ground. A human man had walked in and dispatched the alien. No, not a human man. It was a robot.

This robot was from a line of robots that were meant to look and act perfectly human. It was one of Aku's attempts to fool the samurai known as Jack. These robots were built to feel emotion to simulate humans as effectively as possible, so they were almost indistinguishable from humans. All of these robots would be grouped in a village, each having unique appearances, pretending to be human, to trick the samurai. Jack had been wary, hearing the whirring mechanisms of their bodies. The robots would lie and say that they have human brains in cyborg bodies because they've evolved beyond the needs and weaknesses of their fleshy forms. But the ruse was not good enough. They failed. This robot was a survivor of a few remaining. She learned all of this from her barkeep friend.

She thanked the robot, and he replied that the alien was wanted by the government. He didn't do it for Her. The robot grabbed the alien's head and dragged the entire body out. He disappeared into the night.

She tried taking up prostitution again briefly after this event (the reasons are still unknown to this day). She quit prostituting permanently when a human male client didn't listen to Her when She'd said 'no' and raped Her, forcing Her to carry another litter. It was never explained why She seemed to turn against males based on this encounter, but She displayed remarkable animosity towards males that She didn't already know after this. Perhaps it was the trauma of being raped. She was impregnated by this event.

A week later, even larger aliens came into the bar whilst She was working. While She tended to keep under the radar and to Herself, they were looking for Her. They wanted answers as to their boss's disappearance. This time, they grabbed Her and hauled Her out. They shoved Her in the car and drove off. As She was in the middle of Her shift in a dead empty bar, no one was there to help Her.

They were taking paths that avoided the detection of the city's cameras. They didn't want to be tracked. It began to rain.

A person ran in front of the car. The driver swerved to get out of the trajectory of hitting the person, but with the roads slick from a thin layer of oil having just been surfaced from the sudden rain, he ended up skidding out of control and crashing into a ditch. The rear passenger door went concave before being ripped off its hinges. The alien holding Her hostage was dispatched and the drier right after. They were tracked.

Her savior was the bot from before. She was surprised that he'd appeared again. He stated he was after the head of these aliens as well; they were part of a mafia that the government was hunting down one by one. He hoisted both bodies onto his shoulders and was about to leave when She asked to go with him. She had no way to get home, stranded in the middle of nowhere, and it was raining. So he allowed Her to follow him.

And he couldn't leave Her after that.

She saw him more often after getting his internal phone number. They'd text together and call more than She'd ever done with Her clients. It turned out that he loved children; they were the only ones he'd never had to kill because they still had the chance to mentally reform to the ways of the government and to Aku. She learned that this bot was working for the city's government in assassinating people.

She delivered another litter of eight, all female, approximately eight months after they had met. All except two of Her older children had left. Notably, one was exceptionally intelligent and had managed to get into college after having read books all of her life. She would later go on to write a biography of her mother's legacy. The other two stayed to help take care of their mother and the new litter.

The robot didn't have a home as government robots were given recharging ports at various secure locations around the city and nothing more. He chose to take refuge at the milk factory when he wasn't at work and not recharging. At some point, he managed to lift a damaged recharge port from a repair bay, fixed it, and installed it in the abandoned milk factory. He manually turned on the electricity from the breaker box (it would take the city over a decade before they realised that power had been restored). For the first time in the children's lives, they had electricity in their home. The new litter was already born into better circumstances.

As robots of the government weren't paid a salary, the robot would steal food for them when Her kids or Her own efforts didn't suffice. He provided them with new clothes and toys. She felt for the first time that She didn't have to stress all day. The children were growing strong and healthy. Thanks to the robot, both older daughters were able to have access to functioning robot bodies with which they could study how to take apart and build again. This would bring in thousands of dollars a month, as they charged much less than the standard mechanical engineer, though their handiwork wasn't as advanced. For the next few years, life was good.

One day, the robot never returned home.

She learned that the samurai known as Jack had murdered him. It was in a primitive village that wasn't under the cameras of Aku, so She didn't know what happened. But he was there one day, gone the next. The bot She had known was kind, loving, gentle. He never yelled at Her, never asked for much of Her. She had given him Her first kiss—the one She chose to give rather than it being taken. He had played with Her children. He made Her feel happy. And it was all gone now.

She withdrew. Her younger children became Her caretakers since energy no longer came easily to Her. She would tell them they lost everything good due to that cursed samurai. He took it all from them. It was his fault She currently suffered from this long-lasting heartbreak and inability to move much.

She remained in an low energy state for a year until the daughter that had gone to college returned to Her. The daughter hadn't completed college. She had been dating a young man who forced himself onto her, and the trauma of it kept her unable to continue. The man had been a supporter of the samurai known as Jack. Not all of Jack's followers were as well-intentioned as the samurai was documented to be.

The hurt from Her daughter spurred Her into action. She was illiterate, but Her college-bound daughter read to Her the history of Aku upon Her request. Aku's attempts to eradicate the samurai. She was learned of all the things the samurai had done, all of the families that had been negatively impacted by the samurai's killing. Despite the early-day notions that robots didn't have the capacity for emotion, modern-day robots had emotion, logic, and the ability to form families with both organics and robots. Jack had stripped many families of their provider. Many mourned, wished for revenge, and died trying to extract it. There was a plethora of propaganda supporting Jack for how 'heroic' he was for 'freeing' people of Aku's reign… But there was a surprising lack of empathy towards the robots.

She was a robot sympathizer thanks to the robot She had met. Robots had never harmed Her, but organics had. She appreciated that Aku was so supportive of the robotics industry; after all, He was the one who ordered the creation of Her lover.

Through the hate growing in Her heart for the samurai, She knew She had to end him.

The two elder daughters that had never left began to make humanoid robots that had no true face; they wore a mask that She had sculpted from scrap metal. The remnants of at least one hundred of these early models were found. In later iterations of these robots, they would don a crest with horns similar to Aku's as well as great improvements to combat and defense, though this wasn't until at least a decade later. These robots were the key contributors to not only relocating Her family, but also in the construction of Her Aku hive that spawned a cult that was still known to this day. It would take several years for this infrastructure to be built. She lived in the milk factory with Her daughters until the day it was completed.

Her younger daughters were sixteen when She told them to go out and seek impregnation with a human male that looked strong and fit. They had been trained on how to seduce males and how to have sex from She Herself, having done prostitution for many years. They were also trained to avoid condoms. Human males were more cautious due to the risk of large amounts of children. They were instructed to inform the males that they were barren, thus unable to get pregnant. Seven of the daughters were successful (the eighth dying of an ectopic pregnancy), returning soon after copulation. Two had to go back outside and find another suitor to copulate it after it was determined they weren't actually impregnanted. With robots to steal resources and assist in child rearing, She had no trouble harbouring fifty-four hungry infants. The original effigy of Aku was approximately six feet high. She would have the male infants sacrificed, as She still held a negative view toward all organic males. This brought the total number of infants from fifty-four to forty-two. Some of the daughters that had ventured outside had come across dark magic that coated the bodies and made them more resilient, so all future children of the cult were required to be dumped into the burning black magic.

She was growing older. Her history and poor nutrition growing up led to a rapid decline in health. Her second litter of daughters were the ones to bury Her. Her legacy would not be forgotten. A few of them left the cult with a few of their children to seek out training from both human and robot. They would return years later with a solid understanding of martial arts. Curiously, they did not seem to be affected by the outside world, which one would assume would potentially break them away from the cult permanently.

These daughters would impart the training they had gained unto the youngest batch of daughters. They were indoctrinated with stories of Aku and His history on Earth right down to when He was still considered the Great Black Mass. One daughter was more fanatic about Aku than the others and seemed more adept at training than the others. As the youngest litters grew older, this one became the head through fierce competition and savagery. She titled herself the High Priestess. The other daughters felt she must have had some spiritual connection to Aku with how impressive her skills were.

The High Priestess commanded the newest daughters to seek pregnancy. Most were successful. The total number of new children was not documented. However, there must have been a large number of males, for a diary entry showed that one daughter was particularly sickened by the strong scent of blood that permeated the air due to the amount of bodies sacrificed in that one day. This also demonstrated that the daughters were being taught to read.

The High Priestess was the one that radically changed the way the children were handled; they were treated with less compassion and love, as Aku was not the type of leader that would endorse such a thing—it would make them weak. She forced everyone to wear a mask, to strip them of their individuality, only leaving a name as an identifier. She wanted them to be akin to His faceless army, but one that would actually succeed. The High Priestess was thirty-two when she determined the cult was sufficient in size and dedication to Aku. They had recently erected a giant statue of Aku (the one that still remains in the cult's hive to this day). The High Priestess ordered a robot to seek out Aku. Once Aku had been delivered news that there was a cult that worshipped Him, Aku appeared before the Daughters of Aku and bestowed to them a portion of His essence.

The High Priestess would wander outside and seek a human male with which to copulate for the first time. She was impregnated by a male strikingly similar to the appearance of her mortal enemy, the samurai. She did not give the Daughters of Aku much of a say in how Aku's essence was handled. She had heard of the stories of a wandering samurai having been infected by Aku in the past, and how he had gotten the powers of Aku enough to be able to destroy a monk's monastery and their time portal. She rationed that if she could consume Aku's essence, her children would be blessed with the powers of Aku and become a foe that the warrior could not defeat.

She drank the goblet of Aku's essence, much to the dismay of other daughters who thought they should keep Aku's essence where it was in the goblet.

She birthed a litter of seven healthy baby girls. True Daughters of Aku.

Author's Notes: I was gonna have the daughters born through incest of a male born to Her but I was like ehhhhh not gonna write that gross stuff today lel. But it very well could have happened if I weren't such a wuss

I believe there could have been outsiders that joined the Daughters of Aku during its growing stages, but I think you have to be a real nut case or disproportionately negatively affected by Jack's actions in order to consider the thought of worshipping Aku willingly and lovingly. It's easier to believe that you have children groomed from birth to believe this stuff. There are several religious cults that have done this and their children die believing that stuff. Flat earthers who will forever believe the earth is flat no matter what you tell them. Elephants who are chained when young, too weak to break the chains so they have learned helplessness that carries into adulthood where they don't try to break the chain, even though they have the strength to. Children that don't even know what "medicine" means because they've been restricted to staying at home their entire lives. And if you let them out, they'll return quickly or suffer the consequences.
