Harry couldn't believe he was about to send Albus off to Hogwarts already. If he hadn't already done this with James, he would be just as nervous as his son.
"You have nothing to be worried about Albus. You'll have James there if you need anything and we're only an owl away. I know you're nervous about the sorting but remember, no matter where you end up your mother and I will be proud of you."
He would have continued on but a crash behind them interrupted his speech.
"Oh no!" Albus explained before taking off after his new pet that had apparently escaped his cage.
The train platform was then treated to the sight of Harry Potter running after his son, who was running after a white furball.

A few minutes later, said furball found its way into the arms of a small child whose hair was as light as its fur.
"Whao! What? ... well hello." Scorpius said, looking down at the small animal nuzzling his hand.
"What do you have there?" His mother asked, noticing he had stopped following them towards the train.
"I don't know mum. It just climbed into my arms."
"Well let's see then." his father said, bending down to take a better look.
Scorpius maneuvered the small creature so they could see it better.
It had small round ears, beady black eyes, and a protruding nose. Scorpius thought it was adorable but his father didn't seem to think so. After getting a closer look Draco jerked back and started to sneer.
"Is that is a…" Draco began.
"That would be ours" A voice said from behind them.
Without having to turn, Draco recognized the voice and responded. "Really Potter, I thought you finally learned some decorum after becoming the head of a department. But you're still…"
His tirade was interrupted by a small voice saying, "Thank you for looking after him."
"No problem, he's very cute."
"Cute and mischievous. I just got him a few weeks ago for my birthday and I still haven't figured out how to train a ferret properly."
Spluttering Draco turned back to Harry. "You got your son a ferret?"
"No, it wasn't me." Harry said, putting his hands up while taking a step backwards.

The Potters were gathered in the kitchen enjoying Albus' birthday breakfast when the floo ignited and out stepped their aunt Hermione, their cousin's Rose and Hugo, and finally their uncle Ron.
After the greetings and birthday wishes were given, Ron stepped closer to the table revealing a small cage. "Happy birthday Albus! I saw this on my way home last night and thought it would be perfect for you." Opening the cage he pulled out a small white fluffy animal.
All of the children pushed in closer to get a better look.
"It's so adorable!" exclaimed Rose.
"Is it a boy?" asked James
"Thank you uncle Ron!" The birthday boy exclaimed while petting his gift.
Harry leaned in closer before jerking back with wide eyes. "Ron! Is that what I think it is?"
"Unfortunately, yes." Hermonie said, sounding unamused.
"Come on, how could I pass up on a pure white ferret? He was meant to be in the family!"
At that, Harry and Ginny broke into laughter. While Hermione huffed, "don't encourage him!".
"What are you going to name him?" Lily asked her brother.
"Actually Lily," Ron broke in, "I have a great suggestion."

"There you are," Ginny said walking up to the group pushing Albus' left behind trunk and cage.
"Hello Malfoy, Astoria."
"Girl Weasel ... ow!" Draco started before receiving a stinging hex from his wife.
"Listen here ferr.. ow! Ginny!" Harry tried to reply before receiving his own stinging hex.
"Please excuse my husband," Astoria said stepping in front of Draco." Being on the platform seems to have made him feel like a teenager again".
"Yes, apparently mine as well" Ginny said, giving Harry a look she usually reserved for their children.
"Right you two, I think you better head towards the train. It will be leaving soon." Astoria told the two boys who had been bonding over the same ferret that started their fathers' fight.
Both boys received another hug and some words of encouragement before heading towards the train.
They didn't get far before Scorpius was heard asking, "What's his name?"
"Oh no!" The adult Potters said in unison.
"We named him Draconius." The other boy answered brightly.
"You did what Scarhead?" Draco asked in a whisper far scarier than anything Harry could remember hearing from him in their past.
"It wasn't my idea!" He quickly tried to explain.
"My father's name also means dragon." The conversation continued in the background. "This little guy will have a lot to live up to."
An obnoxious choking laughter was heard coming from the Minister of Magic's husband as she whacked him over the head with her hat.
This idea came to me when my sister and I were talking about how funny it would be if one of the Potter children had a pet ferret and Draco found out.
