Ace pats the spot Mel had vacated. "What has got you looking so glum?"

"I missed a call from my doctor's office." Ace intertwines her hand with Graham's.

"What did they say?"

"That they would like for me to come in."

"Oh."

"Yeah, I remember the last time they asked me to come in was when they told me about my cancer." He drops his head as Ace puts hers on his shoulder.

"I am going to be with you every step of the way if you have cancer."

"Thank you. I should probably change my medical proxy."

"What do you mean?"

"I haven't changed it since Grace died. I know I could've done Ryan, but I didn't want to put it on him."

"Make it me. I can handle it."

"You sure?" He looks at her, making her head move.

"I am and I will already be there with you."

"You know I will always be here for you too."

"I do." After sitting in silence for a few seconds she looks back at him. "Graham."

"Yes?"

"Since neither of us are happy right now I am thinking I should tell you my big secret. The reason I needed to talk to Mel." She looks deeply into his eyes only to find love and understanding.

"What is it?"

"Remember how I told you when I was swept away in the Time Storm, I ended up somewhere that wasn't safe."
Ice World right?"

"There was a ship that was docked there." Ace tries to look away, but Graham, whose hand is still in Ace's, uses their joint hands under her chin and brings her eyes back to his.

"Why was the ship so bad?"

"The captain of the ship Sabalom Glitz thought he owned everything that was on the ship. He was a space pirate, was his."

"Ace."

"Let me finish. When I landed it was his ship. So he sees a young 16 year old on his ship and decides to mark his territory. Next thing I know, my clothes are off and there is this man on top of me. After he was done I took my things and ran off. I wouldn't see him again for a few months. The day I met Mel and the Doctor." Ace stops. "Graham?" He just wraps his arms around her as she starts to cry.

"I've got you. You are the strongest person that I know." He starts to rub her back hoping he never meets this Glitz. After Ace stops crying she looks up and touches her forehead against Graham's.

"This is the first time I let myself cry over what happened."

With foreheads still touching, Graham wipes away a tear from Ace's face. "You can come to me with anything."

"I know that. This was the only thing I have never told you."

"This was something that is understandable why you couldn't tell me. So you know, what you told me makes me love you even more, because it takes strength to get through it."

"I love you too, are you going to call your doctor?"

"I should, shouldn't I?"

"You should."

He takes out his phone and redials the number. "Hello," Graham says after being on hold for 10 minutes. "Yes I can be there Wednesday." Ace can feel Graham starting to panic. "Thank you, bye."

She looks at her lover who just hangs his head again. "That quickly."

"I am afraid."

"I understand, if it helps you know I will be there for you."

"It does," he looks at her. "I love you. What do you say after all of this we go ring shopping?"

"Is that your way of you asking me to marry you?"

"Almost, but I want to know what kind of ring you would like."

"After your appointment Wednesday you and I could definitely do that."

"Thank you."

"We both will be needing that pick me up. What do you say about watching some tv right here, right now."

"As long as I can have my arms around you," he adds.

"I would love to watch tv in your arms." The two of them get comfortable. They are soon asleep.

Days later the two of them arrive at the doctors. "Everything is going to be ok Graham."

"I hope so."

After relaxing in the chairs Graham's name is called. He holds his hand out for her, "want me to come with you?"

"I do." The two make their way to the back room.

"You sure you want her with you," the doctor asks.

"This is Ace, she's my everything."

"Ok." His doctor watches as Graham reaches for Ace's hand. "Mr. O'Brien it seems to me that you have been coming almost bi monthly for the past many years."

"I have. Did you find something?"

"Why?"

"I got a call saying you guys needed to talk to me. That could only be something bad right?"

"What no, I thought you called asking for this."

"No." The three people in the room all become curious as to why this happened. "Mr O'Brien, has anyone been acting weird to you?"

"I don't know. Ace?"

"Same here. Doctor, do you have his results?"

"No cancer, and you don't need to keep coming in so frequently; to check if you have cancer. Still get your regular check up at your primary."

"Of course I will keep doing that. Am I free to go?"

"You are, I am going to be doing a little bit of investigating on who has been trying to get you to come here when you don't need to."

"Thank you, doctor," Graham shakes his hand before he and Ace walk out of the room.

Ace runs her hand along his chest before dragging him in for a kiss, "see I told you everything would be alright."

"I should listen to you more," Graham kisses her lightly before taking her hand and leaving the office.

The person who is found out as the doctor was watching on. She is later fired.

Ace and Graham make their way to a jeweler. "What kind of ring is in your mind Ace?" They enter the store.

"Hello, are you in the market for a ring for your lady friend?"

"Yes I am." Graham smiles and goes back to Ace to hear her answer.

"Something simple."

"Why simple?"

"With everything I do, I don't want something gaudy."

"Ok," they start to look around. Ace tries on a few rings. Graham watches her face and he can tell which style she likes best.
