The first night back at home from staying on the hard mattress of the hospital was heaven for her.

Regina sat against the headboard while reading a book in her hands.

She frowned when she heard the sound of her phone ringing loudly, and a message came up.

She considered wither to take a look at the phone or not. Nobody sent her messages, her friends were few especially now that she lived alone, it was even less.

The second ring made her curious. Regina let herself put down the book beside the bedside table, took off her glasses, and placed it on top.

She picked up the phone, the screen lightened up in her hand. Regina frowned at the unknown number flashing on the screen.

Are you awake? Sleep yet?

Regina sighed in annoyance. The only person who texted her at this hour would be the one and only who lived downstairs.

The dramatic-ass blonde, they just spent all day together and Emma still wanted to talk to her.

This was new and she couldn't decide what to feel or think.

How did you get my number?

How could I not when you're the mother of my kid? Why are you still up?

Stop bothering me.

Answer my question then I'll let you go ;)

(typing)

Oh and I do bother only with you

Regina scoffed at the emoji.

That's pathetic coming from you. I don't believe that. Just go bother one of your girls ;)

*gasp* you used the little smile emoji 😮

What's your point for this text? If not, I'll shut my phone down now.

Nooo! And btw no other girl could ever compare to beauty like you.

You're exaggerating. I look like a whale nowadays.

You're beautiful to me, not even the belly could take that shine away from you. I look at you and you're glowing. It must be the pregnancy thing, right?

Regina's heart beat faster at the small compliment from the blonde. Emma still found her beautiful even when she felt huge.

You said that just to get a favor from me.

No, Regina. I really think you're beautiful.

I don't care what you think of me. Keep your sweet words to woo that receptionist girl then, it might work more.

typing ….

Regina frowned at the dot on the screen.

(typing)

Wait, are you jealous?!

You can think whatever you want, I don't care.

Aww! You don't need to. You're way more important than anyone in my life, Regina.

Her breath stuttered in her throat. She needed to be more careful since being around the blonde affected her so.

Seriously, what are you doing up?

Regina rolled her eyes at the text. Obviously, the blonde kept her up with this chitchat.

Reading, a hobby that was rare to you.

I read too?! Then how would I know so much about the baby stuff?

Like?

You're carrying a cabbage in your stomach at this stage.

Regina raised her eyebrows in surprise, she didn't think it like that before and absentmindedly caressed her swollen stomach.

You know what? At the last stage of pregnancy, your body will get tired and ache easily. Uh, have you experience any leaking?

A gasp escaped from her mouth.

Miss Swan! That's inappropriate!

And lucky for her she didn't leak yet. And hopefully, it would remain that way.

I was referring from what I've read! Anyway! If you get uncomfortable anywhere, you can tell me all these things, Regina. I'm willing to help

I'm fine. Right now I just want to sleep through the night.

Is your back hurt again? Do you need a massage? I can give you one in your room?

Stop it.

Is the baby making you uncomfortable :(

Yes. Just a bit uncomfortable to find the right position to sleep in.

Is she being active tonight? Does she kick you a lot?

Kicking on my bladder like it's her hobby or something. I'm tired of going to the bathroom.

Stop with that face or I'll block you.

Regina…Would you consider what I said at the park?

Not yet. Anyway, did you text me for any reason? Or just to annoy me?

I just want to talk to you. I feel lonely after today. ;(

You talk with me all day already, aren't you bored, dear?

Never with you ❤️

Her heart thumped at the small heart emoji. She needed to shut off her phone to avoid more damage than this.

Regina yawned and didn't know when her head hit the pillow. Not a second later she was out, asleep.

The phone slipped out of her hand and fell to the floor, accidentally the screen was facing up. The screen flashed up again with a new message.

Regina…? You're out?

.

.

Sleep tight ❤️

The next morning Emma woke pretty early and prepared breakfast for Regina. She did some French toast and scrambled eggs, double the eggs for more proteins, sausages, and bacon—Orange juice for vitamins first thing in the morning.

Emma carefully brought it up to Regina's bedroom and knocked on the door lightly. While waiting patiently with the tray in hand.

"It's not lock!"

She heard Regina yell and open the door while balancing the tray on her knee, then used her back to push the door open. Emma walked into the room and saw Regina already sat up on the bed.

She let out a bright smile at the sight of the obviously brunette who just woken up with her hair slightly a mess, and bare face with no makeup.

Regina couldn't look more precious in this moment if she tried.

"Are you hungry?" She asked

"No. But I can eat."

"Really?!" Emma said with excitement, hoping Regina would give in and eat her breakfast.

She quickly stepped to the bed and placed the tray over the brunette's lap, with the belly closed to it.

She smiled and sat beside Regina on the bed. And watched as Regina brought the glass up to her lips and took a sip of her orange juice, then placed it back down.

Regina rolled her eyes at being watched too closely by the blonde.

Regina sliced the toast and forked it into her mouth, the plump lips wrapped around it before her cheeks were swollen with it and moved to chew.

Emma felt so light as her heart was full at the adorable sight.

Regina finally ate what she had made for her, for whatever reason it was she didn't care. Emma was just so damn happy as she watched Regina place the fork down and took another sip of the orange juice.

Emma took that opportunity to grab the fork for the brunette and scooped up eggs to Regina's face.

"Let me feed you." Emma looked with longing into those brown eyes.

"No. I'll eat it myself." Regina glared back as her face deflated.

Emma was still happy anyway, even with the resistant attitude she always got from Regina.

She pretended to be offended and made a scene out of it.

"If you don't like me being nice to you, maybe you would like me to be all evil again?!" Emma starred with her face hardened.

"It's up to you. I don't care."

Regina smirked before taking hold of her hand and wrapping her lips around the fork herself.

Her eyes followed Regina's lips and swallowed down her saliva at the sight of the eggs disappearing into those warm mouths.

"I-was joking! I'm not going to treat you in a bad way again. Because I'm afraid that I won't be loved by… our baby!"

Emma said and avoided the other pair of brown eyes, she felt too intimidating in front of the brunette. Those sharp brown eyes always made her weak in the knees.

She took a glance at Regina and the brunette sat while watching her quietly, there it was again, something in those eyes that she couldn't read.

"Finish the rest then I won't bother you anymore this morning."

Emma hurried to say and sprung off the bed and out of the room in a second. Leaving Regina sitting with a dazed look on the bed, chewing her eggs in silence.

For the rest of the day Emma let Regina stay in the house all day. Since yesterday Regina walked a lot already.

She didn't let Regina do anything by herself at this point. Regina could only give her a dead glare or give her a light scoff at being offended.

Emma would recite all the doctor had said or what she had read to Regina about the effect these movements would have on the baby. Regina would be still, touched her belly, and gave in to Emma's order.

She felt bad for Regina but she had to be the strict one for them because Regina was stubborn as hell.

The only thing that Regina wouldn't give in to her was walking outside to the small garden behind the house. Regina loved to pick up flowers and look around the garden. It was the brunette's favorite activity of all in this house.

Emma could only watch Regina and drowned in her worry from afar. She stepped up to Regina when the brunette appeared at the front door.

"Can you not pick up the flowers, please? You can walk around and look?" Emma begged with her eyes.

"I'm feeling fine. Why are you stopping me? I'm not going to stand for an hour."

Regina rolled her eyes and brushed past Emma to go out to the garden. Emma followed Regina's close behind

"If you want to pick something, tell me, then. I'll pick the flowers for you, okay?" Emma said with worry.

"No."

Emma rushed to step in front of Regina, blocking her way into the garden, and crossed her arms trying to look super strict and very intimidating.

"Then I won't let you go."

Regina's glare made her strict lose its intimidated gaze so fast.

"How are you going to stop me from walking around my house?" Regina lifted an eyebrow.

"But the doctor said not to do too much activity!" Emma persisted.

"I'm bored out of my freaking mind staying inside all day! I just want to stretch my legs. And you can't stop me, Miss Swan." Regina leaned her face closer to threaten her.

It was working, she was not scared of the threat but she was worried it would upset Regina more than it was necessary upon her restraint. So she decided to let it go as Regina was on her best behavior today.

"Regina! I'll allow you only 30 minutes! Okay?!"

Emma asked and grabbed Regina's arms to make her listen to her. Regina glared at her and finally nodded her head slightly.

Regina walked into the garden and felt the blonde walking closely behind her, not letting her out of sight for a second. Regina sighed and thought.

Would she be able to get away from the blonde just for a second these days?

No Regina couldn't stay away from the blonde if she tried, in the end.

That night Regina opened her bedroom door and glared at the sight of the blonde, who stood with a giddy bounce in her stance, pillow, and blankets in the blonde's arms, with that large cocky smile on that annoying face.

"Your mouth would reach your ear soon, if you didn't stop, dear," Regina said then rolled her eyes.

"Thank you for letting me stay in the room. This room is so warm! I lovee it!" Emma stepped into the room and answered Regina.

Emma was glad that Regina let her sleep inside the room, on the couch, of course.

Regina gave in to her offer this evening when Emma helped Regina pick up the water bottle that fell from Regina's hand. And Regina was so upset that she couldn't pick it up by herself anymore since the big belly was in the way.

Even though it was a simple and small task, it bothered Regina so much that Emma could see it shown on Regina's face. Before this situation, Regina hadn't needed Emma's help but now Regina had to depend on her.

So Emma decided to ask again, hassle Regina until Regina saw the reason and gave in to her.

While walking up the stairs Emma was so happy and excitement filled her stomach at the prospect of being near the mother of her kid.

"Don't disturb my peace, then." Regina closed the door and eyed the blonde.

"I promise!"

Emma sent back another large smile. Regina shifted her gaze away and walked to the bed.

Emma walked to the couch at the corner of the room and left the stuff back to their home.

Looking around, Regina's room was a perfect size, not too large or small.

It was wide enough to walk between the bed and the sofa. She put all her weight down on the surface of the sofa which was lying facing inside the room.

It was better than the sofa downstairs.

She lifted her gaze and saw Regina reading on the bed.

Her breath stuck somewhere up the pipe at the sight of Regina with black frame glasses perched on her nose. Emma could feel her heart pound faster at the thought.

Regina looked so cute and sexy at the same, how could that be possible?

The brunette was wearing a satin nightgown that looked so soft and smooth to the touch, that the length ended at Regina's thighs.

She gulped down her saliva.

Then the sight of the rounded belly that Regina could put the book on it without having to hold the book up was genius. Emma almost let out a laugh at the sight.

Suddenly Regina snapped her gaze back toward Emma.

"What are you giggling at?" Regina asked looking up from the glasses.

Emma bit the inside of her cheeks at the sight and tried to cool down her libido.

It was only, what, 10 minutes in the room with Regina, her libido went all over the place.

"Nothing! uh-, you wear glasses?" Emma asked with sudden eagerness.

"Just when I'm reading."

"How come I haven't seen you wear it before?" Emma frowned

"You see it now?!" Regina rolled her eyes at the idiot blonde.

Emma opened her mouth and ruined the silence in the room.

"You look like a hot nerd."

"Miss Swan! I told you not to disturb my peace while you're up here." Regina glared at her hard.

Emma had to focus her eyes on Regina's face and not shifted her gaze downward where the brunette's chest was heaved up and down at the rising temper of annoyance for the blonde.

"I'm not! I was just making a conversation with you."

"Do you want to stay up here or downstairs?" Regina lifted her brow back at her.

"I'm staying here! I won't bother you anymore then. Happy reading."

Emma huffed slightly at the strict brunette, she was just so happy to talk to Regina and she forgot that Regina didn't want anything to do with her.

She focused on scrolling through her phone on the sofa instead while lying on her side, facing away from Regina. So the sight would not intrigue her to disturb Regina.

Not long after she was on her second page of the baby book, she heard the faint sound of the book closing and the rattling sound on the bed. Emma paid no mind to what Regina was doing since it was the brunette's wish.

She didn't want another rage on her head again. Even though a faint hissing sound from the brunette really wanted to make her turn back to look she stood her ground and left Regina alone in peace.

"Miss Swan…"

Emma was concentrating on her reading and couldn't hear a faint sound on the bed calling her.

"Emma!"

"What?! You're disturbing me this time, not me!" Emma yelled back and continued to read.

"I'm no-ah!"

On hearing Regina cry out loud, Emma startled to sit back up immediately and snapped her body toward the bed.

Her heart fell at the sight of Regina holding one of her thighs, with a painful look on her face.

Now Emma felt guilty, she thought Regina was just teasing her. Emma stood up and ran to Regina's side that instant. She was about to reach out to touch her thigh when Regina's panicked voice shouted at her.

"No! Don't touch!"

Emma frowned at Regina.

"What? Why? Tell me, does it hurt?!"

"A cramp! Ah!" Regina cried again as she tried to move her leg.

Emma widened her eyes in panic and hovered her hand above Regina's torso, not knowing what to do to make Regina feel better.

"What do I do, Regina?!" Emma asked in a panic.

"Bring me a warm towel!"

"But we don't have hot water?"

Regina turned to look at her with an unbelievable look on her face.

"You idiot! Go and boil the water and put the towel in."

"Oh, right! Wait here, I'll be back in a minutes." Emma yelled while walking out.

"Let the water warm first then the towel!"

Regina had to yell behind the blonde's back as she was afraid, Emma would do something stupid as to burn herself in the process, trying to help her.

She winced as she couldn't move her leg. Regina thought back to what she said about Emma being an idiot to the blonde's face.

Was she too hard on the blonde? She was hurt so she didn't think and said it in a rush.

Not a minutes later the door was opened with a loud bang. Regina flinched on the bed and her leg moved slightly, sending another cramp around her leg, making her hissed out again.

"Shit!" Regina cussed at the pain and turned to yell at the blonde.

"Go softer on my freaking door! I'm still in need of the door."

"Sorry!"

Emma winced at the sound. Regina could still yell at her while in pain, she wouldn't want to think if Regina was in real labor, the brunette would cuss her to death.

Emma rolled her eyes while holding a bowl of warm water and a towel on her shoulder to sit beside Regina on the bed.

She dipped a towel into warm water and squeezed it dry before bringing it up close to Regina's shin.

"Where does it hurt?" Emma asked.

"I can do it, give me the towel." Regina insisted and tried to take the towel from her hand.

Emma hardened her glare on Regina's face and said with worry and sincerity.

"Your belly is in the way, Regina. You can't reach your leg! I'm willing to do it for you, that's why you let me stay in here with you, remember?"

Regina went still before nodded and gave in.

"Which part?" Emma asked again.

"Right leg. From the thigh below."

Emma slowly placed a spread towel on Regina's ankle, hearing a soft wince beside her. She snapped her head back at Regina's painful look.

"Hurt?"

"Yes, It'll get better soon, I guess." Regina winced out loud.

Emma rubbed a towel on Regina's shin and foot softly not wanting to cause any discomfort. She hated it to see Regina in such a state.

Back then she could only watch but now she could help Regina, wiping on the brunette's leg for her, until Regina could wiggle her toes. And she felt a soft push on her shoulders.

"I think, I'm good now. Thanks. You can put it off."

"Are you sure?" Emma looked closely for any hurt in Regina's eyes and saw none.

Then Emma pulled off a towel which was cool now, and touched Regina's ankle gently. Regina didn't cry out in hurt and could move her leg normally.

She sighed in relief.

Emma turned her head to look back at Regina again. Her breath halted when her eyes caught with Regina's brown ones.

She didn't know how long Regina was staring at her.

"I'm fine now, so you can…put your hand off of me." Regina softly said in her low voice.

"What?"

"Your hand."

Regina pointed her finger to the foot, Emma's hand was indeed on Regina's bare leg. Emma didn't realize she was still touching the brunette's leg.

"Oh, sorry." Emma abruptly put her hand back and scratched her head in a shy manner. Before her gaze turned intense again as she looked into Regina's eyes.

"I'm sorry for earlier. You called and I didn't pay attention to you."

"You do not account for anything, why are you apologizing?"

"I do want to say that I'm sorry. I feel guilty for not going to your side the instant that you called me. It would have caused you less pain. I just didn't want to annoy you so I didn't turn around. I just want you to know that I'm not ignoring you."

"Just shut up, Miss Swan. I understood now."

Emma grinned when she saw the corner of Regina's lips curled up slightly into a small grin.

"Fine, I'll shut up now." Emma leaned back to the headboard and sighed.

"Your bed is so soft!"

"Miss Swan."

"What?"

"Your couch is over there."

"I know! Way to ruin a girl's mood, Regina!" Emma whined softly

"Get off, I want to sleep." Regina ordered.

"Good night then." Emma turned to look at Regina with a sweet smile on her face, eyes shifting back to Regina's lips and up at the brunette's frowning eyebrows.

"Can I get a-"

"Bed now!"

Regina said and pushed her off the bed while she tried to steady herself on her feet as her balance was lost upon Regina's force.

"Turn off the light too."

Emma turned her head back to pull her tongue out at the back of Regina's head. But went to do what Regina told her to anyway.

The room went dark except for the light shining through the window from the moon. That was enough for her to make it back to her bed.

Emma threw the blanket over her body and tried to sleep. But she couldn't as her heart was still thumping in her throat from the close proximity.

The quietness fell around them; only their breathing could be heard across the room.

Not too far away, the other woman on the bed couldn't sleep either, due to other different reasons from the one on the couch.

Regina had to pee. She sighed out loud.

She pulled the comforter off her body and threw her legs down on the floor while rubbing her belly in annoyance.

Suddenly there was a hand grabbing her in the dark, making her jump on her bed as she didn't hear the sound of the footsteps of the person who approached her.

"Emma! You almost gave me a heart attack! Make some noise wouldn't you?!" Regina hissed as she put her hand against her racing heart.

"Sorry! I couldn't sleep and saw you sitting up so I'm trying to help you. What do you need?" Emma asked in the dark.

"Nothing! You can go back to bed. I just need to go to the bathroom."

"I'll come with you then."

"I can go just fine! I'm not an invalid or sick!"

"But it's dark, you could slip? I'm up anyway since I couldn't sleep."

Regina wanted to argue more but the bladder couldn't wait to release. She stood up slowly with the help of the blonde who tagged along with her to the bathroom. Regina turned to push the blonde away as Emma stepped inside with her.

"You can wait outside!" Regina sighed in annoyance.

"Call if you need anything?" Emma grinned.

Regina rolled her eyes and closed the door loudly in front of Emma's face while hearing about she still need to use the damn door back to her.

The blonde was like a watchdog, if she woke up then the blonde would follow her everywhere.

When the bathroom door flung open again, Emma led Regina back to the bed and helped the brunette sit down on the edge of the bed.

"Do you remember that blue thing at the park?"

Regina asked out of nowhere and Emma frowned.

"Yeah, why?"

"Can you, uh, buy it for me?"

Emma widened her eyes and tried to look at Regina's face in the dark. The brunette's cheeks were a shade darker indeed.

"The disgusted blue ice cream that you hate?!" Emma gasped

"Yes…"

Emma laughed.

She was surprised that Regina asked for it since the brunette was the one who hated it in the first place when she let her try. She felt a hit in her arm making her stop abruptly.

"Okay. Whatever you want. Tomorrow I'll go out to buy one for you."

"No."

"What do you mean, no?" Emma frowned, her amusement was gone.

"Not tomorrow, I meant now. I want to eat it now."

"Wait a sec." Emma went back to her bed to grab her phone and looked at the screen.

It was one after midnight.

Emma walked back to stand in front of Regina.

"It's one in the morning, Regina?!" Emma yelled

"And it seemed to be a problem how?"

"It's too late to go out and it's freezing!" Emma whined.

"You're here because I let you in the room, Miss Swan. Do you remember your condition about doing anything that I want?" Regina smirked.

"But-!"

"Our baby wants it, not me," Regina said, her cheek flushed as she used the baby to make Emma do things for her. She avoided the blonde's eyes.

Emma turned to look at Regina and her heart turned soft as Regina used our baby. It was the first time Regina referred to the baby as theirs and it made her heart twitch with fondness suddenly.

She couldn't deny Regina anything. Emma knew that instant, wherever or at what time Regina asked for her, she would do everything for her immediately without asking.

"Won't the shop be close now?" Emma asked with a frown

"That's not my problem isn't it?" Regina gave her a dangerous smile.

"Alright!" Emma turned to walk to the door while mumbling "Things I do for them."

"Oh wait!"

Emma turned her head to look back at Regina in the dark and waited.

"I want a whole pine." Regina gave her a too-sweet smile.

"Is this the baby talking or you? Because right now you don't sound like my Regina at all."

"Miss Swan." A cold voice threatened back at her.

"Geez! I'll go now!"

Emma shut the bedroom door and left. While Regina smiled in satisfaction and waited on the bed. She reached over to turn on the bed light's lamp beside her bed.

She went back to her book again.

Thirty minutes in her stomach rumbling with hunger all of a sudden. Regina patted her belly softly.

When she went to empty her stomach earlier, all she thought about was that sweet and fruity scent of that ugly ice cream.

It made her mouth water and her stomach rumbling, even though she already eaten.

"You really got your other mom's trail in eating junk,"

Regina whispered to her dome of a belly and rubbed it softly, feeling the baby kicked back upon hearing her voice.

"Of course, she does. She's my kid."

Regina flinched again that night, back straight up against the pillow.

When suddenly Emma came back into the room. The door was opened when she didn't notice.

"Miss Swan! Stop sneaking up on me!"

Regina sent the blonde an eye and her eyes shifted down to Emma's hands.

It was a pine of ice cream with a spoon on top. Her annoyance faded suddenly at the sight of her craving.

"You said to open the door quietly so I did! And now you're scolding me?"

Emma whined but her mood lifted up when she saw Regina's small smile as the brunette caught sight of the ice cream in her hand.

She stepped to Regina's and handed them to the happy woman on the bed.

Regina took the pine in one hand while the spoon in the other. Emma reached out to touch the lid when Regina eyed her hard.

"You're not eating this too," Regina ordered her.

"Regina! I was about to open the lid for you." Emma rolled her eyes. And reached out again to open the ice cream's lid as Regina let her but glared at her hard while she did it.

When did Regina become possessive over the food?!

"And I went out with all the trouble to get it for you. The first shop was closed so I went to the local store instead, luckily they have this flavor! You won't share?" Emma pouted.

"No, I said a pine for me, I didn't forbid you to buy another!" Regina smirked.

Emma stood with arms crossed against her chest, shaking her head slightly at this new side of Regina. She watched Regina eat with a small smile.

She was willing to freeze to death and went to every store to look for it, if she got back was the happy brunette who was dicking into her ice cream with such delight.

Regina's lightened up as the spoon went into her mouth. And a soft moan escaped the lips that wrapped around it.

That was all worth it.

"Why was this so good but the color looks disgusting?" Regina mumbled.

"I told you," Emma smirked.

Regina flushed slightly and took another bite of the blue ice cream. Before she put the ice cream back into Emma's hands.

Emma took it back with a confused look on her face as she only saw Regina eat it like three little spoons.

"You're done?!" Emma asked with a gasp.

"Yes." Regina nodded

"It's still brimming full! You took like 2 tiny scoops?!"

"I'm done eating! If I eat more than this, I'll puke! Or do you want to see me throw up with this blue thing all over you?" Regina lifted her eyebrow in a challenge.

Emma grimaced at the image and shuddered slightly.

"So you won't mind if I eat this?"

Regina's glare was all the answer she got.

"I guess not. I'll put this in the fridge for you then."

Regina went back to bed while she closed the ice cream lid and closed the door gently behind her. She looked down at the ice cream and a spoon with traces of blue color on it and grimace.

She wouldn't have this flavor for a while that's for sure.

Emma let out a long sigh all the way to the kitchen. She was still in a daze, to be honest. All the effort she had to go through to get this damn ice cream.

She drove, walked in the cold air wearing only a bathrobe and slipper, and let people in the store look at her like a fucking weirdo buying ice cream in the middle of the night.

Just for Regina to eat a tiny bit.

What the hell just happened?!
