The craving for that blue monster of an ice cream was getting too much for the blonde. Emma had to take Regina to town to fulfill that craving of her. Along with the cheeseburger the brunette wanted to eat. Emma offered to buy them for her but Regina didn't want take-out as the food was not the same as in the restaurant, the brunette insisted.
Regina always blamed her when the craving hit, saying it was all her fault that the baby inherited her trail of bad eating. Emma didn't hold anything to it, she would proudly accept it as her bad habit if it made Regina happy.
She was so happy now that Regina told her every need and wanted. She was willing to take Regina anywhere if Regina told her.
Emma looked to the woman beside her with a small smile as Regina walked alongside her, in her hand was a small cup of that ugly blue ice cream.
"Admit it that it's delicious." Emma teased.
"No. But the baby loves it."
Regina always denied her love for unhealthy food and used the baby as an excuse. Emma shook her head with a small chuckle. She walked and often looked to the woman beside her, who almost finished the whole cup.
Regina put her hand to rub against her nose. Emma could see a trace of blue color on it when Regina put the finger away.
"Let me throw the cup away." Emma offered and took the plastic cup from Regina's hand.
"Thanks."
Regina tightened the cardigan around her torso as she stood waiting for the blonde beside the path that had grass and little flowers planted along the way, watching the blonde find the bin.
Now the baby excuse started to sound lame to her ear as the blonde always smiled back when hearing it. Regina had to come up with another excuse for the junk food she was craving.
Emma jogged to the bin that wasn't far behind and threw the empty cup away. Upon turning back around, from the corner of her eye, she saw someone riding a bicycle at full speed. She panicked as she realized that Regina hadn't noticed it yet because the brunette was busy staring after her.
"Regina!" Emma shouted with a terrifying look on her face as the bike came closer.
"What?!"
Emma didn't wait to yell and ran in big steps toward the confused brunette at the side of the path. She wrapped her arms around Regina's waist and pulled the other woman onto the grass side.
"Em-?!" Regina let out a surprising yelp.
While the brunette lost her balance and crashed into her front from the force of her pull. Regina's rounded belly touched her own flat one as she tightened her hold around Regina's torso. Regina fisted her jacket tighter as well.
They both seemed to be losing their breath at the small accident.
"Are you alright?!"
Emma mumbled against Regina's forehead as the woman in her arms looked at the bike that flew past them at a speed that made her brown hair fly with it. The stain of brown hair fell to her forehead. Emma tucked it back behind Regina's ear.
At the gesture, Regina turned to look back at her with a frightening look in her gaze.
"I'm okay." Regina breathed out against her mouth.
That was when Emma noticed how close they were. She could feel the brunette's warm breath on her face. And she saw a tiny dot of blue color stuck against the tip of Regina's nose. Emma put her hand up to wipe it off gently, not wanting to spook the other woman. Those brown eyes followed her finger movement and scrunched her nose as it tickled.
"Good."
Emma puffed out with a relieved sigh. She was so scared that Regina would get hit by that damn bike. Emma put her arm back around Regina's shoulder and hugged the woman closer to her. Taking in another deep breath.
A second later, Emma could feel the woman in her embrace, fidgeting her arms against her chest, trying to make her let go.
"You can let go of me, I'm fine now."
"Sorry, I was in the moment."
Emma reluctantly let the brunette free, she could feel her face flush slightly at being caught hugging the other woman.
"You seem to be in the moment too much nowadays. I'll take that as you're taking advantage of me somehow."
"You're the mother of my kid! You know, I can hug you whenever I want." Emma grinned.
"I said the obvious. Can we go now, I'm hungry."
Regina puffed out in annoyance at being reminded that she was carrying the blonde's kid. Every time Emma did something to her, the blonde would use that excuse and she let her.
Because she couldn't face the fact that if she was not pregnant then, would Emma still treat her like this, like the excuse the blonde loved to use against her.
"Okay, Mom."
"I'm not your mom."
"My wife then."
Emma grinned and swayed to the side as Regina pushed past her. Emma followed the brunette and tried to look out for Regina along the way, the blonde would put her arms in front of the pregnant woman in a protective manner while crossing the road.
They were people who walked past them and smiled at the soft gesture of the blonde for her wife. Emma smiled back at them with happiness. While Regina huffed out in annoyance all the way to the dinner.
The dinner was ahead of them. It was a small diner, selling only burgers. Regina abruptly stopped in her tracks. Emma paused her steps too and turned to look at the brunette with a confused eyebrow.
Regina seemed to tuck her cardigan tighter to her torso with an uncomfortable look on her face. Emma looked closely at Regina's face and it was slightly red on the cheek. Then looked down at how Regina crossed her arms together against her chest.
Emma stepped closer to the clearly embarrassed woman.
"What's wrong now? You can tell me, Regina." Emma hardened her face when Regina wouldn't look back at her.
"Please?"
Regina looked up from her eyelashes at the blonde, her face all flushed.
"Don't laugh, if I tell you." Regina glared at her hard.
Emma nodded her head eagerly. She was interested to know now what really got the brunette to be this fluster.
"Promise me!" Regina hissed.
"Fine! I promise I won't laugh."
Regina slowly lowered her arms down to her side, and the cardigan loosened around the brunette's torso, leaving a gap in the center. Emma looked closely at the white dress, there were darker spots in circles around Regina's breasts.
She couldn't stop the bubbling laugh that was coming up out of her mouth the instant she saw that Regina was leaking. Regina snapped her head up at her so hard, that Emma tried to cup her mouth with her hand. Giggling behind her hand while her shoulders shook.
"I'm-so-sorry, Ha!" Emma tried to stop her laugh but couldn't at how red Regina looked right now. The brunette could glare her to death if possible.
"You promised not to laugh, Swan! I shouldn't believe you!"
Regina yelled and hit her arms. Emma winced at the slap and continued to laugh. She felt another hit on her shoulder so she had to put up her hands to grip the hand that hitting her non-stop.
"Stoaap! Ha-Gina!" Emma chuckled.
"Stop laughing, Swan!"
"Ok-ay! Ouch!"
Regina hit her again when she let the hand go. Emma rubbed the bruised spot on her arms and tried to compose herself. She took in deep breath, looking back at Regina's dead glare to settle down.
Emma took off her jacket and threw it around Regina's shoulders. Regina put them closer together on her chest. Now she couldn't see that Regina was leaking.
Regina was still red in the face whether from the leaking or the fact that now Emma's arms were bare and she could see those muscles flexing slightly when the blonde put those arms around her.
She was annoyed and angry at how dare Emma laugh at her embarrassment. Regina sent another dead glare to the blonde when she heard Emma huff out a small chuckle.
"It's not funny at all." Regina scolded.
"I'm sorry. Do you need anything? Or what do I need to do? Ohh do you need me to-Ouch! Regina!"
Regina didn't wait for Emma to finish that thought, and hit the blonde in the arm, sending a big slap across the street.
Emma flinched away from the dangerous woman beside her and rubbed her arm furiously at the spot Regina hit her.
"Served you right for having such pervert thought!" Regina yelled with her face still flushed.
"What?! I haven't thought any pervert- Ohhh" Emma flushed too at the implication. She wasn't going to offer herself to help like that.
"Regina look at me," Emma said and Regina reluctantly looked at her. "I wasn't going to say that. I swear! I was going to offer my own shirt!"
"Stop being ridiculous! And what are you going to wear?"
"Oh! I…forgot? I could uh wear only the jacket?"
Regina rolled her eyes at the idiot blonde.
"Seriously, are you okay? Do you need anything?" Emma asked
"I don't know! You tell me since you read." Regina snapped and mimicked Emma's voice at the last part.
"Um…Is it stop? Can you still feel it?" Emma winced at the stupid question.
"Would you stop this?!"
"Do you want to go home?"
Emma asked and let the brunette decide. She watched as the other woman looked toward the diner and gulped her saliva. Emma grinned.
"No. I want to eat." Regina said and walked inside the dinner without waiting for her.
"Wait!"
She shouted and hurried her footsteps behind Regina.
Inside the diner, there weren't too many people, they were scattered here or there at the booths and tables. Regina walked to sit at the booth at the far end, the one which closed to the toilet behind.
Emma followed behind and passed the counter, where the waitress looked at her arms. She shifted her eyes down to herself and saw that she was only in a tank top, her arms were bare.
She flexed her arms slightly by waving hi at the long-haired waitress, before winking at the brunette. The girl turned back to her friend and screamed.
A screech bounced back to her ear making her smirk. She still got it.
Emma shook her head and walked to the booth where Regina was already sitting down. As she stopped at their table, she could feel a cold, almost scary radiant wave sent in her way as chill ran down her spine.
Her green eyes met with brown ones that glared at her hard. She could crumble to the floor for that look alone.
Emma gave Regina a small grin that showed off her dimples and went to sit opposite Regina. Acting like nothing happened.
"I'm famished! What are you going to order?" Emma asked while looking down at the menu.
"How sickening, showing off your guns like it's that attractive," Regina mumbled as the brunette also looked down at the menu, not meeting the blonde's eyes.
Emma had to bite her lips to stifle a giggle. She seemed to be giggling a lot today, she couldn't help herself, Emma was happy being around Regina.
"I want a cheeseburger with salad and sauce on the side. I'll be back."
"Okay."
Emma smiled and started to stand up with Regina too when Regina waved for her to sit back down.
"You can stay here."
"You'll be alright?" Emma asked again with her big green eyes. She didn't want Regina to go anywhere alone, or out of her side for a second out here.
Regina's eyes wrinkled softly before glaring back at her in annoyance. Emma put both her hands up in a surrender gesture and watched as Regina went inside the bathroom stall in the back.
That's when she looked down at the menu again until the waitress showed up.
"Ready to order?"
Emma looked up at the brunette girl with her dashing simile.
"Two cheeseburgers, one with salad, sauce on the side, and one with cheesy fries topped with bacon!"
"Alright, your drink?"
"Water and a strawberry milkshake, thanks."
"Woah, the food contrasts with that great figure of yours."
The waitress looked up from her eyelashes at Emma's body, obviously looking her up and down, not shy in her intention at all.
"I have to use lots of energy."
Emma was slightly red in the face at the direct compliment. She never received one with Regina as her smile turned into a sad one at the thought.
"Ohh, wait! Do I know you?! Charming Swan, right?! The top handsome girl, every woman wanted to be in arms with to events! Oh my godd!"
The girl was fangirling over her. And it boosted her ego so much that she let out a small smirk. Since she hadn't gone to events while she stayed with Regina. She did miss the gala, the cocktail there was to die for.
"Yeah. They might be exaggerated on the top tier one." Emma smiled
She frowned slightly when the girl was leaning over close to her by putting her hands against the table. Emma scooted backward in her seat, her back against the back of the booth. Her eyes shifted to the shortest short of a skirt the other girl was wearing while the girl bent forward to her.
She looked back in front and met with the line of the other girl's chest.
"Nah, I think they got it right! You're gorgeous." The girl was drooling at this point.
"Uh…thanks? You too."
Emma smiled and tried to be polite. She didn't want to make more small talk with the girl so she turned her head back to the bathroom behind her. Afraid that Regina would emerge and send her to her dead for real.
She didn't want Regina to think badly of her or misunderstand her since she tried so hard to change. She was not the same person anymore.
"You're here alone?"
Emma lifted her eyebrow at the question, this girl must not see Regina sitting with her.
"No, I came with-"
Suddenly another presence behind her back interrupted her sentence. She could feel the slight perfume of the other woman. She turned her head to the side and saw the protruding belly first, lifted her head, and saw the pretty face of Regina, that leaned down toward her own so fast she didn't expect that action from the brunette.
Regina pecked her lips.
Her mouth opened slightly into a shock against Regina's smirking one, while the brunette pulled away fast.
"Is the food here yet? We're hungry." Regina said in her too-sweet voice for Emma's liking while sending her too-sweet of a smile.
She was speechless and got lost in those fake sweet voices and eyes that Regina sent her. Emma played along with Regina since she wanted the girl to go away anyway. And all her attention was now on the beautiful brunette beside her.
Emma grinned, wrapped her arms around Regina's waist, one hand on the big belly. She saw a flash of glare on Regina's face before it was gone into a fake smile. Regina put her hand on top of her on the stomach and then looked back at the waitress, sending the girl a dangerous smile.
"Do hurry about my order, dear. Me and this baby are famished." Regina said while patting her belly again.
The girl was back on her feet and gasped.
"Well as I was going to say that I came with my wife."
Emma gave the girl a proud smile while she felt Regina lower her hand and pinched her backside. Emma squirmed in her seat, getting away from the finger while still keeping her smile.
"You and your…?!" The girl pointed the finger back and forth between her and Regina.
"But the news said that you're single! What a fake source!"
"How long do I have to wait? Or do you like me to talk with the manager?" Regina glared at the whining waitress and lifted her eyebrow up in an intimidating gesture.
"Okay, Madame! I'll be right back with your order!." The girl flinched back to her service as she was scared by the look on Regina's face and turned to smile sheepishly at Emma.
Her smile faded as she couldn't feel the warm presence beside her.
Regina abruptly pulled away from her and went to sit down opposite her. She missed Regina's warm body and her lips tingle slightly at the feeling of Regina's lips against her own. Even if it lasted for just a second.
Her lips turned into a thin line.
"Next time don't make me come with you then. So you can flirt around other girls all you want, alright?" Regina looked down with a small huff.
"Why do you think that, Regina?"
"Your brooding tells otherwise, dear. You must love it since the girl is pretty slim and young. Not lots of baggage like us." Regina scoffed and looked back at Emma who was still smiling.
The blonde still had the audacity to smile while she just pointed out their flaw?!
"Oh, so you've agreed?!"
Emma smiled more when she saw how Regina said all this nonsense to her about the other girl, she couldn't contain her grin.
"Are you…jealous?" Emma asked as she tried to minimize her grin. She didn't want Regina to misunderstand her more than this.
Regina snapped her gaze back at her, eyes widened at the realization, and couldn't open her mouth fast enough when the same waitress brought their food to the table.
"Sorry for the wait."
"Thank you." Emma smiled at the girl.
Her smile was gone when she saw how Regina fuming in her seat. When the waitress walked off, she pulled her plate closer to herself and looked at Regina to see if the brunette was still angry at her.
When Regina showed no sigh of irritation Emma grinned and picked the fries into her mouth.
A low hum was coming out of her throat as it was so long that she had actual cheesy fries, when the cheese melted on her tongue, the crispy bacon added another texture, enhancing more greasiness in her mouth.
She chewed with happiness as she dicked into her burger.
"So good!" Emma mumbled while chewing.
When Emma looked up again. She was surprised to see her brown eyes staring at her. The brown gaze was soft but darker and more intense.
"I'm not! I was helping you out with that drooling girl. If you don't want it I can call her back here." Regina said and shrugged her shoulders
Emma reached out to grab Regina's hand that was on the side. Regina glared at her and tried to pull her hand back, Emma tightened the grip, not letting go.
She rushed to interrupt when she saw Regina's lips curled up.
"I loved that you came to my aid, Regina. And I freaking loved it to know that you cared about me, just the slightest bit was enough for me. I was uncomfortable not of the drooling girl, but was of you. I was afraid you would come out and found us talking, I don't want you the get the idea. I don't want you to get hurt on my behalf." Emma said almost choked up with tears as she started to get emotional all of a sudden. She squeezed the brunette's hand and tried to hold Regina's gaze.
"I don't want to lose what we're starting to have," Emma admitted softly.
Regina's eyes were filled with unshed tears also. She loosened the grip and Regina abruptly pulled her hand back.
"We don't have anything, Miss Swan. Don't act like you know what I feel."
Every bad thing that the blonde had done to Regina in the past, she still remembered it. It won't fade away easily.
This was the first time she knew what feeling she felt in her stomach every time Emma paid attention to someone else.
But when Emma was sad or she said things that hurt the blonde's feelings. She couldn't stand it, and wanted it gone, wanted the blonde to be back to her goofy self.
Regina grabbed the burger in hand and ate it, lost in her thoughts.
Emma smiled sadly and continued to eat in silence. She was sad that Regina didn't want to think about them being anything. When she felt like this day was the best day ever, getting to see the other side of the brunette she had never seen was just a bonus.
The important thing to her was being near Regina that was enough.
Emma snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the brunette's voice. She was surprised Regina talked to her first.
"Can you get another milkshake for me? The baby wants it."
Emma lifted her head to see Regina putting the salad into her mouth. She started to feel lighter and not sad that Regina was willing to speak to her again. Even though she used the baby as an excuse.
"Okay." Emma smiled.
Regina looked back at her, hand hung in the air at her smile, before Regina ate it and chewed adorably.
"You can eat mine." Emma pointed to her milkshake.
"It's fine. I want the vanilla one."
Emma grinned.
Not long after all was said and done. The milkshakes were gone, and their plates were all empty. Regina caressed her belly, she felt so full and satisfied.
Suddenly a small burp was out of the brunette's mouth and Regina widened her eyes as she covered her mouth with her hands, face flushed slightly at the embarrassing act in front of Emma.
"Sorry," Regina mumbled against her hands and started getting up.
"That was the cutest burp I've ever heard!"
Regina's head snapped back at her like she was crazy. Emma could only smile.
"But I think I'm more louder than you." She said that while feeling a burp coming up to her throat.
Emma let out a loud burp, not caring if everyone would watch. Regina had an amused look in her brown eyes and chuckled at the blonde. Emma stood up and followed Regina.
All the way to the front door. Emma put her arms in front of Regina's stomach the whole time. And looked around as if someone would crash into Regina if she didn't keep watch.
Everyone was watching them with a fond smile.
"Stop it, Emma!" Regina hissed softly against Emma as she noticed the stare around them.
"I don't want anyone to bump into you," Emma whined.
"Really, Miss Swan?"
Regina stared hard as if that was the most ridiculous thought Emma had ever come up with. Regina rolled her eyes and walked to the door where the blonde rushed in front of her and opened the door widely for her.
"Allow me, your highness."
Emma opened her arm and lowered her head down a bit, a small grin on the blonde's face. Regina glared with a mirth twinkling in her brown eyes.
"It's your majesty."
Then Regina walked out of the door in her normal stance as much as she could.
Emma gasped at the teasing brunette. She was lost in the other woman's trace. And it was not helping at all that Regina was wearing her jacket and looked regal more than she did.
Now she couldn't wait to imagine what it would be like if Regina wore her shirt too.
