When Kakashi learned that his wife is pregnant, he knows it will be hard considering everything. But he just doesn't know how hard.
Three months had passed since he learned about it, and everyday is like an S-rank mission in their home. Sakura just became too disoriented to be left alone. It was like when she lost her ability and being pregnant is like water and oil. It will never be mixed, or if they will, it doesn't bode well.
Kakashi found himself constantly on edge, ensuring Sakura's safety and well-being as her disorientation grew with the progression of the pregnancy. He had rearranged their home to minimize any potential hazards, but the challenges were relentless.
One day, as Kakashi was helping Sakura down the stairs, he couldn't help but feel the weight of the situation. Sakura's lack of sensation and the growing complexity of her disorientation made every step a potential danger.
"Sakura, be careful," Kakashi urged, his arm around her for support. "Let me know if you need anything, and take your time."
Sakura nodded, a look of frustration and vulnerability in her eyes. "I hate feeling like this, Kakashi. I can't even navigate our own home without your help. It's so frustrating."
Kakashi sighed, feeling the heaviness of the situation. "I know, Sakura. I wish I could do more to help. We'll get through this, just take it one step at a time."
As Sakura reached the bottom of the stairs, she held onto the railing for support. "I feel like I'm losing control, Kakashi. I can't feel and see the ground beneath my feet."
Kakashi tightened his grip on her, offering as much stability as he could. "We'll figure this out, Sakura. I'll do everything I can to support you. Let's take it slowly, okay?"
Despite their efforts to navigate the challenges, each day presented new obstacles. Kakashi had to adapt quickly, learning to anticipate Sakura's needs and adjusting their surroundings to ensure her safety. The simple act of cooking became a potential hazard, and Kakashi took on the responsibility of preparing meals to minimize any risks.
One evening, as they sat down for dinner, Sakura looked at Kakashi with a mixture of gratitude and frustration. "I miss being able to do things on my own, Kakashi. I feel like such a burden."
Kakashi reached across the table, gently taking Sakura's hand. "You're not a burden, Sakura. We're in this together. I'm here to support you, and we'll find ways to make this work."
"Tell that to me when the bags under your eyes become smaller and lighter. And that slouch eases up a little." Sakura pointed out. She slammed her chopsticks on the table. "Don't try to minimize my uselessness by saying that. Admit it Kakashi, I'm useless!"
Kakashi, who is already on his wit's end to make sure she's safe and his nerve frayed by everything that going on, slammed his chopsticks too. "You know what? You're right! I'm so tired to making sure you don't trip on your own feet and doing everything around here. I'm tired!"
The tension in the room hung thick as Kakashi's outburst echoed in the small space. Sakura stared at him, her eyes wide with surprise and hurt. The weight of the situation and the exhaustion had finally taken its toll on both of them.
Kakashi took a deep breath, regret immediately washing over him. He hadn't meant to unleash his frustration on Sakura, but the stress had been building up for months. He ran a hand through his silver hair, a gesture of frustration and fatigue. He looked at his wife's hurt expression and reached across the table and tried to hold Sakura's hands in his but she just swatted his hand away.
"Thank you for your honesty." Sakura said in a hard, cold voice before she pushed the chair she's sitting on backwards and stomped towards their bedroom - albeit her stomping is muted due to her disorientation.
Kakashi sat there, alone in the now tense and quiet dining room. He ran a hand through his silver hair, frustration evident in his eyes. The challenges seemed insurmountable, and the emotional toll was taking its toll on both of them.
As the night wore on, Kakashi found himself sitting in the dimly lit living room, lost in his thoughts. He couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness, the frustration of not being able to fix everything for Sakura. He knew their love was strong, but the weight of their circumstances pressed on him.
Eventually, Kakashi heard the bedroom door creak open. Sakura stepped out, her expression softer but still filled with the lingering frustration. She wobbled on her unsteady feet, her legs are shaking but she is trying to keep herself standing, strode towards the main door, with a bulging backpack slung carelessly on her shoulder.
Kakashi looked up, concern etched on his face. "Sakura, where are you going?"
Sakura avoided eye contact; her voice strained. "I'm leaving."
Kakashi's eyes widened in shock, his heart is pounding painfully in his chest. He walked up to her and hugged her tightly. "You're not leaving, Sakura. You're not leaving me."
Sakura pulled away from Kakashi's embrace, determination in her eyes. "Kakashi, I need to do this. I can't keep burdening you like this. I can't stand being so dependent."
Kakashi's grip on her arms tightened, his eyes pleading. "Sakura, leaving is not the solution. We're facing challenges, but we face them together. I love you, and I won't let you go."
Sakura shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "Kakashi, I don't want to hold you back. You deserve a life without these constant struggles. I don't want to be a weight around your neck."
Kakashi cupped Sakura's face, wiping away her tears. "You're not a weight, Sakura. You're my partner, my wife, the love of my life. I don't care whatever hardship we will face. I need you to be here."
Sakura looked into Kakashi's eyes, torn between her desire to spare him from the difficulties and her love for him. "Kakashi, I just... I can't bear the thought of holding you back. You have a life to live, dreams to pursue, and I don't want to be the reason you can't."
Kakashi's gaze remained unwavering. "Sakura, my life is with you. The dreams I have, the life I want – it includes you. Leaving won't solve anything. We'll find a way to navigate through this, just like we always have. I can't imagine my life without you."
Sakura bit her lip, her eyes pleading for understanding. "But I'm not the same Sakura you fell in love with, Kakashi. I can't even take care of myself properly. How can I be the partner you need?"
Kakashi gently took her hands in his, his touch a silent reassurance. "Sakura, love isn't about perfection or independence. It's about facing challenges together, supporting each other through thick and thin. We'll adapt, find new ways to make things work. I'm not going anywhere, and I don't want you to leave."
Tears continued to stream down Sakura's face as the weight of her decision pressed on her. "I just don't want to be a burden to you, Kakashi. I love you too much to hold you back."
Kakashi pressed a soft kiss to Sakura's forehead, his embrace a comforting shelter. "You're not a burden, Sakura. I'm sorry for whatever I said. I was just surprised. I'm sorry. Please, don't leave."
Sakura's shoulders shook with the weight of her emotions. She felt torn between the love she had for Kakashi and the desire not to hinder his life. Her heart ached with the conflict within her.
Kakashi held her even tighter, as if trying to anchor her to the present. "Sakura, I need you to understand. You're not a burden. Our life together is worth every challenge we face. Leaving won't make it easier for either of us."
Sakura leaned into Kakashi's embrace, feeling the warmth of his love surrounding her. She whispered, "I just don't want you to regret choosing me, Kakashi. I don't want you to resent me."
Kakashi cupped Sakura's face, forcing her to look into his eyes. "I could never regret choosing you, Sakura. I love you with all your strengths and vulnerabilities. Resentment has no place in my heart. I want you, all of you, for as long as we have."
Sakura let out a shaky breath, her tears staining Kakashi's hands. "I love you too, Kakashi. But it hurts so much to see you go through this because of me."
Kakashi pressed a tender kiss on Sakura's forehead, his voice a gentle murmur. "Sakura, love is not a burden. I made a choice to be with you, and I stand by that choice. We'll find our way through this darkness together, and the light will be brighter because we faced it side by side." Then he kneeled in front of her and placed his hands on her slightly swollen stomach. "I love you too, bud. I'm sorry that Daddy yelled earlier. I'm not mad. Don't get mad at Daddy, okay?" He kissed her stomach, where their baby lay. "I love you, bud. I'm really sorry for scaring you."
Sakura's eyes softened as she watched Kakashi connect with their unborn child. The weight of the situation still lingered, but in that moment, there was a glimmer of hope and reassurance. She run her hands on his silver hair, wishing that she can feel it.
"Kakashi, please, stand up."
Kakashi stood up, his eyes never leaving Sakura's. He held her face in his hands, gently wiping away the tears that stained her cheeks.
"Sakura," he whispered, "I know it's hard, and I won't pretend to fully understand what you're going through. But I do know that I love you, and I'm not going anywhere. We'll face this together, and we'll find a way to make it work."
Sakura nodded, feeling a mixture of emotions swirling within her. She clung to Kakashi, seeking comfort and solace in his presence. "I'm scared, Kakashi. Scared of the future, scared of not being enough for you and our child."
Kakashi pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "You are more than enough, Sakura. You're everything to me. We'll take each day as it comes, and we'll navigate through the challenges together. I don't want you to face this alone, and I don't want our child to grow up without you."
Sakura leaned into Kakashi's touch, savoring the warmth and reassurance he provided. "I love you, Kakashi. I just wish things were different."
Kakashi's gaze held a deep understanding. "I do too, Sakura. But this is our reality, and we'll find beauty in it. We have each other, and that's what matters."
They stood there in the dimly lit room, holding onto each other as if the world outside didn't exist. The challenges were immense, but their love was a beacon of strength that lit up the darkness around them.
