KHAOS was annoyed. Very much so. The planet looked very much like the original did before HE destroyed it accidentally.
That was the issue. HE wanted things to be better, but it seems the beings on the planet became worse than the original.
What irked HIM the most however, was the many nature deities and creatures descended from Gaia's line that were doing their best to keep the planet in somewhat good health. It seemed they were rather annoyingly being taken for granted.
Gaia was HIS favorite child, and was the kindest amongst her siblings. It was the reason HE gifted her the earth, HIS most prized possession. Tartarus HE trusted the most, HE gave the ability to imprison evil just like the prison that housed all the villains of civilization in First Earth's Japan he was named after. Nyx was the loneliest, and so HE gave her the night to ensure she never felt truly alone while gazing at the stars. HE made sure all of them had aspects or domains that complemented their personalities or limited their faults.
HE'S glad HIS trust wasn't misplaced for any of them, but too many of their relatives had grown complacent and arrogant with their power.
"Well it's time to get to work." KHAOS was floating in the asteroid belt quite a ways away, as HE started to make HIS plan. Staring at the earth, HE noticed that the Sky and Sea seemed to be fighting in the West. Apparently a normal event due to the existence of storms and quakes around the coastline and occasionally inland.
'Should I attempt to solve this subtlety or just go blunt?' Sitting on a large asteroid in HIS ethereal form, Midoriya overlooked HIS options and quickly made HIS decision.
"Subtlety will never work on these lot. They've grown too used to their power and it will just make things a hassle. It's best they know what's going to happen and how powerless they'll be to stop it."
With HIS mind made up, KHAOS began to open a portal straight in front of the entrance to Olympus. It was the top of the Empire State Building and hidden by The Mist from mortal eyes, and existing in its own sub-dimension. One thing they did right at the very least.
The gods were all present for once, but of course that can't be a good thing amongst them.
"Return my Masterbolt by the solstice Poseidon or there will be war!" Zeus was at the helm of the problem like usual, but for good reason this time as his symbol of power was stolen.
"How dare you call me a thief brother?! I have done no such thing! I demand an apology by the solstice or you will get your war!" Poseidon was annoyed to be called a thief by his younger sibling and quite rightly felt an apology was necessary.
You see, during the last meeting the gods had left Zeus' theater room where their council thrones were stated and had changed location for better scenery to discuss improvement plans for Olympus.
They had left their weapons in the theater room and were walking towards their destination when Zeus and Poseidon began their usual nonsensical arguments. It was usually something along the lines of "Mother always liked you more" or "My domain is better than yours" and it was the kind of rubbish all Olympians barring the two had learnt not to take seriously.
Even Hestia turned a blind eye at times. They were just that ridiculous.
After they were done discussing and returned to the theater room, Zeus noticed his Masterbolt was missing. Enraged, he turned to the Poseidon and accused him of stealing it for another attempt to overthrow him.
Gods are not allowed to steal each other's symbols of power due to the Ancient Laws KHAOS placed at the beginning of creation. KHAOS did this because Nyx had placed an eternal night on Ananke's house for a week as a prank. As the primordial of Compulsion, Necessity and Inevitability she was, Ananke had taken Aion's symbol of power, the Staff Of Light and used it as a lamp for her residence. After a few moments of laughter through tired eyes, KHAOS put the rule down to prevent them squabbling over their possessions.
However, since HE put the rule down as a mandate for all of HIS primordial children, it applies to their descendants as well.
There is a way to circumvent that however. Demigods and humans have no such restrictions because they are not fully under the ancient laws so the laws don't recognize them as true gods. Hence you can acquire another's symbol of power if you find a mortal stupid or insane enough to attempt to steal from a god.
They don't usually appear often, but they do when there is nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
"Father, please calm down. There is no reason to go to such drastic measures". Athena was the voice of reason in Olympus due to her status as the virgin goddess of wisdom, but Zeus refuses to listen to what she has to say and continues to argue with his brother.
Surprise surprise.
Unfortunately for KHAOS this mess was exactly what HE sensed after knocking out half of Olympus with a twentieth of HIS aura alone.
Before HE even laid HIS hand on the massive gates, the olympians were already on guard. Whoever this person is, HE'S a threat for sure.
As KHAOS opened the massive gold gates HE already had a lightning bolt, 6 arrows and 2 spears launched at HIS head. Using the many time quirks in HIS possession HE slowed time down to a crawl and simply sighed from disappointment as HE watched the attacks and everyone in HIS view stop entirely.
"So quick to attack, but slow to defend. Half of Olympus is on the floor, but Hestia seems to be the only one who cares…" Glancing again toward the virgin goddess, Midoriya realized something that shook HIM.
'…Eri?'
It obviously wasn't the girl at all. HE held her Rewind Quirk after all.
However the resemblance was uncanny. Especially since Hestia chose to retain herself in an 8-year old's appearance. The only real difference between the two would be the color of hair and the lack of the horn that made HIS unicorn so special.
With a quick breath to clear HIS head, KHAOS turned back to the attacks that hadn't moved much if at all. HE used a finger to deflect the arrows off course and simply snapped the spears in half before they even had a chance to do any minor damage.
HE then backhanded the lightning bolt back to its sender simply because the bastard deserved it. Seriously, if HE had to recite all the sins of the Lightning user HE would be there till the next solstice.
KHAOS let time continue, and watched the chaos unfold (pun intended).
With their attacks destroyed, Artemis,Apollo, Ares, and Athena stumbled as their connection got severed abruptly.
Zeus, however, proved he did not have lightning fast reflexes, (probably due to sitting and doing nothing on Olympus for years) and got smacked into the ground with his own lightning bolt.
"Well what a horrible welcome. Is this how you greet a guest's arrival children?" KHAOS' partial divine form was a sight to behold. The clothing was the same as HIS hero costume back in the day, however there were massive changes. HIS hair and eyes had a bright light green glow to them that seemed permanent.
The mouth guard HE always used to have and never used as a teenage hero was once again present with its own green glow. Somethings are always meant to exist in whatever shape or form, but at least HE'S outgrown the bunny ear hoodie.
It was kinda stupid anyway.
One thing that must be paid attention to, is KHAOS' Symbol of Power.
HIS gauntlets. The most powerful weapons in existence without a shadow of a doubt.
Made in the image and functionality of the arm braces he used during the Paranormal Liberation War, KHAOS' Gauntlets are a force to be reckoned with. The gauntlets each had 6 Chaos gems dubbed "infinity stones" that had been split in half and placed in each gauntlet. The gauntlets themselves were made entirely with the anti-quirk mineral, now called Celestial Bronze as the outer layer. The internal layer was made of quirk amplifiers. This would make them a deadly force on their own, but after being infused with KHAOS' essence, they became a weapon fit for a true god.
On the hands of a mortal, they have enough power to do mortal damage to a Major "god" of Olympus.
On the hands of a Minor god they could physically overpower atlas.
On the hands of an Olympian, Zeus would easily be overthrown.
On the hands of KHAOS, it isn't irrational to assume the destruction of the planet with little energy spent. Energy HE'S not really losing, but you get the idea.
HE definitely wouldn't need them to take on the Olympians, but these fools understand nothing but power. Then HE'LL show them nothing but power. Let's see them try to just blast their problems out of the way this time.
The Olympians stare at him in shock for 5 full seconds. Against someone who can slow or somewhat stop time, that's a very good way to die.
It makes you wonder how they ever dealt with Kronos. The legendary titan would have destroyed them in no time.
"Who are you?!" Poseidon was the one to ask the question. While being the most "chill" of the Big 3, he is still an Olympian and has a few bars of sin on his head.
"You do not recognize The Creator? I am your father's grandfather. Are you using your Millenia of wisdom or does it not exist?" KHAOS had a condescending smile on HIS face as HE stared at their shocked forms.
It was Athena who pieced things together first and she immediately took a knee and bowed before HIM.
Zeus had finally gotten off the floor and stared in shock at his daughter who was kneeling for another man.
"Athena! What is the meaning of this!" The goddess of wisdom turned to her father and glared at him, shocking most of the council with her audacity.
"Don't you know who this is, Father?" With a grimace on her face Athena turned back to HIM. HE had not moved and HE still had the safe infuriating smirk on HIS face. "KHAOS has returned and the first thing we do is attack HIM?"
All of the Olympians had different reactions to this. Zeus was shaking in absolute fear. Poseidon was pale and had a death grip on his trident. Apollo was asking the oracle for a prophecy and panicked when nothing was given. Artemis was annoyed that KHAOS was male, she had always imagined/hoped the creator to be female. Ares was looking for a fight, but atleast had some common sense not to attack again. Dionysus couldn't give a damn, and Aphrodite was the worst. That much desire in someone else couldn't be healthy for anyone.
"You've all made a mess of the planet. What happened to keeping the earth in its best condition?" KHAOS had a frown on HIS face now and Athena only worried more. If she said the right thing, maybe they all wouldn't die gruesome deaths.
"That's the job of the nymphs and other nature spirits. It's hardly any of our concern".
Athena's hope died a gruesome death.
Zeus in his ever-expanding wisdom, (heavy sarcasm) had given an unthoughtful answer and KHAOS' anger was rising.
"It is not just a "job", the condition of the earth reflects on them. The healthier it is, the better the condition of all nature spirits. Gods and nymphs included." KHAOS gave a very reasonable answer and Artemis had to butt in.
"Father, I told you so many times but you always ignored me!" Artemis had initially brought up the topic, due to the gradual loss of power she was suffering in her wildlife domain.
KHAOS looked in her direction and raised an eyebrow. Artemis wilted and stepped back.
Sighing, HE finally decided to get to the main point. Focusing a slight part of HIS energy into HIS gauntlets, KHAOS raised the pressure around the room, and brought them all to their knees with the pure potent power that was impossible not to sense.
"I'll be taking over things from here. The West has fallen into disarray, and I have much to fix. Your demigods have been neglected for far too long, and I honestly should have been more careful with those laws… Gaia also needs to wake.." Despite having a slight mutter store KHAOS had a plan made up and HE turned back towards the Olympians.
"Hermes, you've done well accommodating the unclaimed demigods, but I'll take over their care for now with a cabin of my own in the camp."
Hermes tried not to show it, but he was very relieved and grateful, KHAOS could tell.
With that last word, KHAOS left the Olympians to their devices, as they had much to think and worry about
