Gryffindor wasn't a bad house. Though most of the boys were unpleasant, I studied and did my best as I could. I made friends with a girl named Marlene McKinnon and then we met Mavis at the library. "Hey, Mavis, we're here!" She was panting and her uniform was messy.
"Sorry if I'm late. We haven't met, I'm Mavis Black." She offered her hand Marlene accepted with a flinch.
"What happened to you?"
She sighed. "Some blond from my house threatened to kill me if I didn't leave Hogwarts." I was shocked why they would want that.
"Why?" Marlene asked in a matter-of-fact tone.
"She said something about me being from a broken branch and shouldn't be here." Marlene looked suspicious.
"You're From the Black family, right? With the home in London and mountains of galleons." Mavis's eyes widened and so did mine, that image of mountains of gold coins just wasn't possible.
"I-I'm from C-cranfield A-and." She said, rubbing her head. "Why is everyone on my grandfather's side family all insane?" She bemoaned.
Marlene nodded. "So you are related to the blacks?" Mavis groaned.
"Yes, but I was raised in Cranfield, went to school there and I thought magic was my grandfather's imagination!" The librarian hushed Us.
"She's like me, but her granddad's a squib," I explained.
"Oh, so why are you in Slytherin?" She looked around, checking.
"Because I thought the hat's singing was horrible, but honestly it's because I wanted to make my grandfather proud, he's the nicest man in the world and I wanted to see him smile when I got back, his dream was being in Slytherin and I wanted to fulfill it." I was shocked so was Marlene.
Marlene smiled at her. "You're nothing like Sirius ." Mavis made gagging noises.
"Please don't mention his name around me, I would rather jump off a plane than be near that git." We laughed. "Or Narcissa she called me mudblood and her mouth filled with soap." Marlene had a disgusted look on her. "My grandpa already told me what it means, he told me to ignore them or tell them, "Says the inbred tosser." We all giggled, it was a good comeback.
The school year continued and I was invited to Professor Slughorn's party. "What are these parties like?" I asked Petunia who was leading me to the dungeon.
"Usually you get sweets, drinks, and a feast. First time I'm invited instead of being Elizabeth's guest." She grinned after beating Hufflepuff in her first game.
"Welcome! It's so nice to see the next generation of slug clubs, please enjoy yourselves and speak to my former students." He finished and walked to a group forming.
Tuny left to talk with the keeper of the Holyhead Harpies and I just found Sev. "Sev you got invited too?" He nodded.
"I think we got invited because of our siblings doing so great."
"Kinda feel out of place," I admitted. Most of the students here were third or at most seventh year.
"Yeah, Cassius is talking to a potions master who is trying to make a cure for werewolves." Yeah, we were out of place. "He's a genius but I think he's not very confident." Reminds me of someone.
The evening ended.
It was boring until the feast where everyone told stories. That was about it before we got back to our dorms.
Though during Christmas break Jully was very clingy to Cassius and Sev. "Father's been loud, he went off to his family for Christmas." She told Cassius while they sat on the couch. "I want to go to Hogwarts, Cass, he's always yelling. I want to leave." Cassius hugged her tightly.
"I will make sure, I will do my best." He looked at the stairs and saw me, I ran back to my bed.
The next morning Cassius placed a note on my bed after I finished washing my teeth. "Don't worry I will do my best. -T.C.S"
I nodded and ripped the paper apart, Cassius was responsible, he should know what he was doing.
After getting back to Hogwarts a month later. Something odd happened there were fires in Ravenclaw Tower and one in the dungeons. "What happened?" I asked Tuney she shrugged.
"I Don't Know, there was a Fire in the Boys dorm, Severus was crying. I asked him but he said that he needed to talk to our house head. Last I saw him he was writing letters." I nodded and decided to ask the only Slytherin I knew who would talk to me.
"Do you know what happened in the dungeon?" Mavis blushed.
She looked around the hall and pulled me into the second-floor girl's bathroom. "You can't tell anyone what I told you." I nodded and made a pinky swear.
"Ok, so we were getting ready for bed and Cassius ran out of the common room holding a journal. He came back and he looked like he had cried. Evan heckled him, and it turned into a duel. Evan got stuck on the ceiling and fell to the floor with a bloody nose."
I went to the source, I asked the first-year Ravenclaw and the professor. "Sev what's wrong?" I found him sitting in the corner of the library, with a burnt book.
"I'm trying to fix this, Cass and I made this for Jully but it went up in flames. I'm worried about Jully." I Gulped now and I was worried.
When we got a letter from Dad it was terrible.
When he came back home during Easter break we came home and Jully was out of sight I decided to go to their house and the issue was. "Tuney do you know where Sev's house is?"
Her eyes widened. "No, Lily, what's wrong?"
"I wanted to see how Jully was doing. Sev was so panicked and I wanted to make sure they were all right."
"Lily, I'm sure Jully will rush you into a hug when she can." I nodded and during Christmas Only Sev came. "Where's Jully and Cassius?" I asked, my worry growing.
"Jully and Cassius have Dragon pox." That was a surprise, I just assumed it was wizard smallpox and mom said not to go there.
Before we left for Hogwarts, Jully came to our house glowing like she always did yet had a bruise on the right side of her face. "Jully what happened?"
She shrugged. "Don't remember. I think I hit my head on something." I was just happy to have my little sister with us for the new year.
After the summer I saw Cassius being taken by what I think we're wizards.
"I don't know they said Cass had used underaged magic and would be placed on trial, Mom said it would be a slap on the wrist."
Petunia came down from upstairs. "But what spell did he use?" asked worriedly.
"I don't know, but Mom said he should be back in a week. I'm just happy my father wasn't there." I nodded, he was a really strict man.
