Chapter 8
"Well…for the time being I suppose." Lettuce said looking down. "But it would be to only save your people first. After your people are safe you could find a way to save your leader."
Pai placed his thumb and index finger on his chin as he began to think. "Perhaps that would work, however it would be unwise to inform Deep Blue-sama about our plan." he thought. "I shall talk to my comrades about this. Perhaps you should do the same with your comrades."
"Hai." Lettuce nodded as she smiled slightly.
Lettuce looked up at the clock and realized it was getting late now. "I should head home soon. My parents will begin to worry if I'm too late for dinner."
"I shall escort you then." Pai said standing up. Lettuce stood up and took the book that Pai was reading and checked out both their books.
Pai began walking Lettuce back home, Lettuce holding her book and Pai holding his book. "Pai-san…thank you for today." she said as she began to blush.
"It is not a problem." Pai stated calmly. "Miss Midorikawa perhaps I could read the book you have checked out and you could read mine and maybe…we could…discuss them?" he began to blush slightly.
"I'd like that Pai-san." Lettuce smiled. They traded books as soon they reached her house. "Pai-san thank you again for today."
Pai stood there and nodded as smile crept across his face. Lettuce closed her eyes as did Pai; each of them leaned forward as if to look for a kiss, until they heard the front door open.
It was Lettuce's younger brother Uri. He stood there staring at Lettuce and Pai, who were now standing straight up and blushing. "Um…Pai-san this is my brother Uri. Uri this is Pai-san." Lettuce said introducing them to each other.
"Hello." Pai said monotonously.
"Mom! Dad!" Uri yelled running back into the house.
Lettuce sighed. "Gomen-nasai Pai-san!" Lettuce bowed. "My brother is probably just surprised to see me with a friend."
"I see." Pai said. "I should be going then." Pai turned around to walk away but was stopped when he heard a woman's voice say hello to him.
It was Lettuce's mother Yomogi. "Hello. Are you Lettuce's friend?" Pai turned back around and nodded. "My name is Midorikawa Yomogi." she said bowing.
"Ikisatashi Pai." he said as he bowed.
"Pai? Pai-san?!" she exclaimed. "So you're the famous Pai-san?"
Pai glanced over at Lettuce who shook her head. She never mentioned to her parents about Pai before, which confused her as to why her mother knew about him.
They heard a man's voice from inside. "Pai-san?" He came into the doorway and stared at Pai. It was Lettuce's father Midorikawa Eizaburou.
"So you are Pai-san?" Lettuce's father asked.
"Hai." Pai said bowing nervously. He was beginning to get worried as to why they knew about them.
"We've heard that you stood up for our daughter at school the other day. You stood up against those three girls who were bullying her. Thank you so much Pai-san!" Lettuce's mother said.
Pai just gave a nod. He glanced over at Lettuce. "How did you know about that?" Lettuce asked.
"We heard about it from some other parents. It's the talk of the neighborhood." her mother laughed.
"Pai-san please come inside." Lettuce's father said motioning him inside. Pai walked into the house and looked at Lettuce with worried eyes. He was unsure what was going on as was she. "Lettuce why don't you and your brother help your mother with dinner…I'll keep Pai-san company." her father said kindly as he motioned Pai into the living room.
He motioned Pai to sit down on the couch across from him. Pai sat down and stared at the ground, glancing up from time to time.
"So you're Pai-san?" Lettuce's father asked.
"Y…yes sir." Pai stammered.
Lettuce was able to sneak out of the kitchen and hid behind the wall listing to their conversation.
"What are your intentions with my daughter?" he asked.
Pai looked up. "Sir?" Pai wondered what he meant.
"You're not just trying to get into my daughters pants, are you?" Eizaburou asked. One thing about Lettuce's father was that he was very protective of his only daughter.
Pai blushed bright red. "No sir!"
"I hope that's true. I don't want her to be another notch on your belt." he said crossing his arms.
"Sir…? I am not familiar with that saying." Pai raised an eyebrow.
"Well I'm not sure how many girls you've been intimate with before." he said.
"Intimate? Does he think I have…mated before?" Pai thought to himself. "S…Sir…I have not…" Pai said getting quieter as he began to get redder in his cheeks and looked away "had any relations before."
Lettuce's father raised an eyebrow. "How old are you?"
Pai cleared his throat. "I am seventeen."
"You're seventeen…and never been intimate?" he asked.
"I know it seems doubtful, but I am being truthful." Pai stated.
Lettuce's father was quiet for a moment. "I believe you. You seem like a good guy." he chuckled. "Tell me…how long have you two been dating?"
Pai's eyes filled with a slight look of sadness. "Miss Midorikawa and I are not in a relationship. We are just friends." he spoke with a little sorrow in his voice.
"I see." Lettuce's father said quietly. "But you would like to be in a relationship with my daughter?"
Pai nodded as he stared at the ground again. There was a short silence where neither of them knew what to say or do. Meanwhile Lettuce stood against the wall wondering what she should do, whether to interrupt the silence or do nothing.
Then her father spoke up again. "What do you like about Lettuce?" he asked.
Pai gave a slight smile and breathed a soft breath. "I like how intellectual she is. I also appreciate her strength as a person. I have noticed that over time she has become a stronger person when it comes to facing difficult situations." Pai said pausing for a moment. "But most of all I love how kind she is. She always tries to rectify things and help others, even if they did not need assistance in the first place. To finally find somebody that is…caring…about all beings is quite refreshing, even to someone cynical like me."
Lettuce's father gave a smile, as did Lettuce as she stood against the wall still listening in on their conversation. Lettuce knocked on the side of the wall. "Pai-san…would you be able to help me with my schoolwork?" Lettuce asked coming into the living room.
"Of course Miss Midorikawa. I would be glad to help you with your schoolwork." Pai said standing up. "Would it be alright Mr. Midorikawa if I help Miss Midorikawa with her schoolwork?"
"That would be alright." he said.
Lettuce began to lead Pai upstairs to her room. "Lettuce, keep your door open." Lettuce's mother said from the bottom of the staircase.
Lettuce began to blush as did Pai. "That shall not be a problem Mrs. Midorikawa." Pai said bowing.
Lettuce led Pai into her room and took out her homework.
"Um…Gomen-nasai about my dad Pai-san." Lettuce said bowing.
"It is quite alright Miss Midorikawa." Pai said. "I am sure it is because he is protective over you."
"Hai." Lettuce nodded. Lettuce sat down at her desk and began on her schoolwork while Pai observed her. Now and then when she was stuck on a question he would explain to her how the equation should be done.
"I suppose then that you had heard the conversation your father and I had near the end as well?" Pai asked.
"Hai…" Lettuce said getting quieter. Lettuce began to blush. Did Pai really feel that way about her? "Why would Pai-san feel that way about me? Am I not too plain and week for someone interesting and strong as he is?" she thought.
Pai looked over his shoulder when he heard the creaking of the floorboards outside her door. Though there was nobody there. "Miss Midorikawa…" Pai whispered "I believe your brother is outside the door."
Lettuce turned around and said "Uri, we know you're there." Uri poked his head out around the corner of the door. "You don't have to be shy."
Uri took a step in and bowed. "Hello, Pai-senpai." Uri said. Pai nodded at him. "Onee-chan, dinner is almost ready."
"I'll be down in a minute." Lettuce said as she finished a question and closed her book.
Lettuce and Pai headed downstairs. "Pai-san would you like to stay for dinner?" Lettuce's mother asked.
"I am afraid I cannot. My mother will start to wonder where I am if I am not back soon." Pai bowed. Lettuce walked outside with Pai for a moment.
Pai stood there with Lettuce outside the front door again, both of them unsure if they should kiss the other one.
"I should be departing soon." Pai said.
"Um…thank you again for today Pai-san." Lettuce blushed.
"It is quite alright." Pai said pausing for a moment. "I shall be here in the morning to escort you to school."
Lettuce looked up with wide eyes. "Oh…um…you don't need to do that!" Lettuce exclaimed embarrassed as she waved her hands as if to say no.
"I am well aware that I do not need to, but I would prefer if I did. This way I know if you arrived safely to school." Pai stated with his arms crossed.
"O…okay Pai-san." Lettuce mumbled. Lettuce lifter her head up slightly and closed her eyes. She pressed her lips out slightly, waiting for Pai to plant a kiss on them. She wanted to feel his soft lips again.
Pai cleared his throat and patted her on the head. He wanted to kiss her so badly as well; however he was aware that her family was peeking through the curtains. He did not want to kiss her in front of others. Even though he did in front of everyone in their last battle, he was still extremely out of his comfort zone. "I shall see you tomorrow morning Miss Midorikawa." Pai said walking off.
Lettuce stood there and watched Pai walk away, her feeling somewhat foolish for wanting a kiss until she realized that her family was looking out the window.
Cyniclon ship
Pai teleported back to the ship to find Kisshu talking loudly about his day. Normally Pai tuned Kisshu out when he heard Ichigo's name, but this time he was listening to him talk about how Ichigo and him had a fun time out together.
Pai sat down at the chabudai and cleared his throat grabbing his sibling's attention. "What?" Kisshu sighed.
"I have some important matters to discuss with you all." Pai stated. "It's about the condition of our planet."
Kisshu and the other perked up, now listening more attentively. "What is it Pai?" Taruto asked.
"The condition on our planet is getting worse and things are not looking well for our people." Pai said crossing his arms. "However I do believe there is a simpler way in which we would be able to help our people instead of destroying the Earth."
"Well don't keep us waiting!" Kisshu yelled getting excited.
"The only problem is that we would have to all agree to keep this plan from Deep Blue-sama." Pai sighed.
"That won't be a problem for me!" Kisshu scoffed.
"Me too! If it's to help our people then I can keep it a secret even from Deep Blue!" Taruto said confidently.
Pai looked over at Kukki, who seemed concerned but not about herself. She was worried that Pai would have a hard time keeping a secret from their leader since Pai respected him immensely. "Do you think you can keep it a secret from Deep Blue?" Kukki asked crossing her arms.
Pai looked to the side and thought for a moment. "As Taruto said, it is to save our people." Pai said looking back up. "I did not concoct this plan, however I have carefully done some calculations and I do believe that this plan will be successful."
Kisshu raised an eyebrow. "So…did your girlfriend come up with this plan?"
Pai began to blush for a moment. "She is not my girlfriend." Pai said. "And yes, Miss Midorikawa has indeed come up with this plan."
"So what is it?" Kukki asked.
Pai sat there and explained to them about the Mew Aqua that the Mew Mews had and how they would relinquish it to them to restore their planet to save their people.
Meanwhile
Lettuce laid in bed thinking about how kind Pai was to her. He saved her multiple times, and spoke to her so kindly, even though his voice was monotonous and face devoid of expression, she could still feel and tell he had emotions, despite what others might think. Lettuce rolled over and smelled her pillow that Pai had laid on when he stayed over when he was injured. It smelled…wonderful to her, a natural manly scent.
She began to blush thinking about his handsome face, and toned body. She remembered how he was able to pick her up with ease when those boys tried to assault her. Memories began to pop up with thoughts of all the conversations and situations they encountered.
"Pai-san…" she said softly with a smile on her face as she smelled his pillow again. She moved one hand over her chest and the other trailing down her stomach.
The next day
Lettuce woke up and quickly got dressed before rushing off downstairs to get some toast for breakfast. "Lettuce" her mother said "Pai-san is waiting outside for you."
"W…what?" she asked putting two bento boxes in her bag. "How long has Pai-san been outside for?"
"About half-a-hour." her father chimed in reading the paper.
Lettuce quickly grabbed a piece of toast and shoveled it down, just to meet Pai outside. She opened the door to see him at the end of the walkway.
"Gomen-nasai Pai-san." she bowed. "I didn't mean to make you wait for so long."
"It is quite alright Miss Midorikawa. I do not mind waiting for you." Pai stated monotonously. Pai began to walk her school, both of them in complete silence. "Miss Midorikawa, you look as though you did not get enough sleep last night." Pai said noticing that she looked a bit pale and tired.
"I'm fine Pai-san. I just didn't fall asleep right away last night." she blushed.
Pai raised an eyebrow wondering why she was blushing. Although he didn't inquire why she would be blushing, he figured she would tell him why if she wanted to.
"I spoke to my comrades last night about your plan to save my people." Pai said. "We all agreed that it will be a productive plan. We will not be explaining our plan to our leader however as he is unpredictable when it comes to unsettling situations for him."
"That's wonderful Pai-san!" Lettuce exclaimed. "I have work after school so I can discuss it with the others then. I'm sure they will agree to it as well."
Pai gave a slight smile. Her enthusiasm was refreshing to him.
"I brought another lunch box today…maybe we could eat together again?" Lettuce blushed.
"That would be agreeable." he nodded.
Pai walked Lettuce to school and waited outside the gates for lunchtime. When it was finally lunchtime some students left the school to quickly run home while others stayed there. Lettuce ran to the gates so she could enjoy the time with Pai.
Lettuce opened her mouth to apologize for making him wait, but Pai gave her a quizzical look as if to tell her not to bother apologize. "I know. I shouldn't apologize so much."
Pai gave a slight chuckle. "You are learning then."
Lettuce began to chuckle too. Pai and her went to a nearby park to have lunch. "Pai-san…I was wondering what your leader is like?"
"Well…it is quite hard to describe. He can be unpredictable in his actions. As for his appearance nobody is quite sure what he looks like." Pai explained. "Before our battle at Tokyo Tower he was just an orb of light, after it however when Kisshu opened the portal and flooded his dimension with the Mew Aqua droplets he began to take shape."
"Pai-san…why are you so devoted to him even though he isn't helping your people yet?" Lettuce asked.
Pai's head popped up. "Why am I so devoted to him? He has yet to save my people." he thought to himself. "I…I am not quite sure myself." Pai said softly. "I think that because I am a loyal warrior I stayed devoted to him. We are taught when we are young that the humans are the enemy. But now I feel as though my entire life has been a lie." Lettuce looked at him with sad eyes. "I feel as though I am betraying my people in some way, but I know that I am actually helping them." he said quietly.
"Well…you can always save your leader after your planet is saved." Lettuce said trying to cheer Pai up.
Pai gave a slight chuckle. "I doubt that once our leader finds out that we used Mew Aqua to save our people and not restore his power to destroy the Earth, well…it would be unwise to do so."
"I see." Lettuce said softly.
"The lives of many are on the line if we do not do something quickly. It is between his life or my people's lives. The same for your people as well. If we restore his power, the humans would be exterminated." Pai said.
"Do you want to change your mind and not go through with the plan then Pai-san?" Lettuce asked him, seeing that he was deep in thought.
"Negative." Pai said. "Although I find many humans deplorable, there are some that are remarkable." Pai smiled over at her.
Lettuce began to blush. Pai's ear gave a slight twitch at the sight of her smiling face. "Pai-san…" Lettuce spoke softly as she leaned in closer to him.
Pai leaned in as well and placed his hand on her cheek. "Miss Midorikawa…" he said softly. They closed their eyes as they leaned in for a kiss. A kiss that wasn't forceful on the other one.
They heard three familiar voices along with teleportation noises. His siblings had interrupted when they were about to have their first real kiss. Pai and Lettuce both sat apart again with blushes on their faces.
"Pai!" Kisshu screamed as he teleported with a look of fear on his face.
"What!?" Pai snapped angrily.
"We just spoke to Deep Blue." Taruto said. "He is not happy that we aren't making any progress."
"We did not inform him of our plan; however he seems to be suspicious that we are deceiving him." Kukki stated crossing her arms.
"This is troublesome." Pai said placing his index finger by his mouth and thumb under his chin. "We will have to come up with a side plan to deter him from doing anything irrational."
"Pai-san…perhaps the others can help you as well?" Lettuce chimed in. They turned their attention to Lettuce. "I mean…Shirogane-san is good at coming up with plans, he might be able to help."
"Well…" Kukki said with a slight smile "another person's perspective on this situation might be constructive. We will discuss it tonight at your headquarters."
"Hai." Lettuce nodded.
"We'll just…let you two finish…eating." Kisshu said grinning before teleporting off with the others.
"Bakas!" Pai swore under his breath.
"Pai-san…I hope I'm not causing you any problems."
"You are not." Pai stated. "Deep Blue-sama is unpredictable. And since no progress has been made with restoring his power and destroying the humans I am quite sure he will be even rasher in his actions."
Café Mew Mew
That evening the Cyniclons and the Mew Mews met at the café to discuss forming a truce. Lettuce first went into the café to explain that the Cyniclons were there but not to fight.
"Are you sure they aren't planning anything?" Mint asked crossing her arms.
"I'm sure. Please trust me. Pai-san and his siblings already agreed to form a truce if we could give them some Mew Aqua just to restore their planet." Lettuce said confidently.
"Pudding thinks it's a good idea, na no do!" Pudding raised her hand.
"Fine with me." Ichigo said. "I just want to be a normal girl again. And since we have to stay this way till the threat to the Earth is gone, then I guess it wouldn't be too bad to try this out." Ichigo said. She wanted things to go back to normal. But first the Cyniclons would have to leave the planet.
"Onee-sama?" Mint looked over at Zakuro, who was deep in thought. Mint didn't want to make up her mind till Zakuro agreed.
Zakuro nodded. Mint nodded after her. Lettuce's face beamed with joy.
She motioned for the Cyniclons to come in. Pai came in first as Ichigo glared at him, still mad that Pai stole Lettuce's first kiss. Just like Kisshu stole hers.
"Koneko-chan! ~" Kisshu sang as he ran in with his arms wide open to hug her.
Ichigo moved out of the way and watched as he ran into a wall.
"Why Koneko-chan?" Kisshu asked rubbing his nose.
"No!" Ichigo yelled crossing her arms and turning her back to him. Ichigo smiled slightly as did Kisshu.
Ichigo remembered the fun and conversations they had yesterday.
Flashback
After Kisshu and Ichigo had stalked Pai and Lettuce, they had taken a walk in the park together. "Ichigo…" Kisshu said walking by her side "is there a reason that you like Aoyama-kun so much?"
"Well" Ichigo blushed "Aoyama-kun is so nice to me. He is very caring, about all things. I love that about him."
"Is there anything he has that I don't?" Kisshu asked as he stopped walking while Ichigo took a few more steps forward.
Ichigo sighed. "Well…you're kind of a yandere, so I don't appreciate that. While Aoyama-kun isn't a yandere." Ichigo explained.
Kisshu looked down at the ground as a saddened look crept across his face.
Ichigo saw that Kisshu was beginning to look disheartened now. "But you do have some good qualities." she said hoping to cheer him up.
"Like what?" Kisshu asked melancholy still.
"You have a lot of tenacity." Ichigo said. "You don't seem to want to give up on things."
Kisshu laughed as he put his hands behind his head. Ichigo started to laugh too, hearing his laugh was infectious to her. Ichigo looked in the distance and saw that there was a small carnival in the distance. "Come on Kisshu." Ichigo said grabbing his wrist. "There's a carnival." she said dragging him along.
They went on a number of rides and played games, many of them they lost, but Kisshu was able to win Ichigo a stuffed cat. It was black like her cat form. She hugged it close to her body and that night placed it on her dresser.
End Flashback
"Miss Midorikawa…thank you for speaking to your friends about our situation." Pai said bowing.
"It's alright Pai-san." Lettuce smiled sweetly.
"Taru-Taru!" Pudding yelled jumping on Taruto and nuzzling his. "Pudding and Taru-Taru can now be the best of friends, na no do!"
Taruto blushed and shoved her off him. "N…not in front of them." he said quietly looking at his brothers and sister, all of them eyeing them.
Kukki walked over to Pudding and stared down at her. Pudding stood there blinking and then smiled widely as she giggled. "You know I never got a good look at you before." Kukki said. Kukki picked Pudding up into a tight hug. "You are just too cute!" Kukki laughed happily.
The others started to chuckle and laugh. Keiichiro set down a tea set and a bunch of cups with a variety of pastries. "Please take a seat." Keiichiro said.
They all sat down and began talking about their plan. "We'll agree to this, but you must swear on your people's lives that you will no longer attack the Earth." Ryou said.
"You have our word." Pai said.
"Fine. I'll get the Mew Aqua." Ryou said as he and Keiichiro got up and headed to the basement to get the Mew Aqua they had.
"So…" Ichigo said as she crossed her arms trying to break the silence.
Everybody was silent for a moment. "Are Lettuce Onee-chan and Pai-san dating now, na no do?" Pudding blurted out.
"Pudding!" Mint yelled covering up her mouth.
"But Pudding wants to know." Pudding whispered to Mint.
"So does everybody, but we don't just blurt things out." Mint whispered back.
Pai and Lettuce sat there blushing, glancing at each other now and then. "Well…" Lettuce said softly.
"I mean…" Pai stammered.
"We haven't really discussed dating each other." Lettuce said blushing. She wished Pai would already ask her to be his girlfriend. Pai too wished Lettuce would be his girlfriend, but he was unsure if she would want to be his girlfriend. Pai would have asked her earlier but he kept becoming too nervous about it.
"Well what are you waiting for?" Kukki asked sighing. "It's obvious that you both like one another."
"Kukki!" Pai snapped grabbing his sister by the wrist and pulling her aside away from earshot of the others. "When I am mentally prepared to ask her to enter into a relationship I will."
"You know women don't like to wait." Kukki stated crossing her arms. "I'm sure there are other guys that would want to date her."
Pai's eyes widened. He thought of all the other possible suiters he was unaware of that might be interested in her. "Damn it." Pai quietly swore. He didn't want anyone else to be in a relationship with her. He wanted her all for himself. He knew it seemed selfish, but she made him feel different than the melancholy way he normally was. She made him feel…alive, and he didn't want to lose that feeling.
Pai walked over to the table where the others were. "Miss Midorikawa may I speak to you for a moment?" he asked blushing.
"Ooooh! ~" Kisshu and Ichigo sang.
Lettuce followed Pai outside behind the café away from the others, although Ichigo and the others had followed them and hid behind the wall and bushes just to watch.
"Um…what did you want to talk about Pai-san?" Lettuce asked looking down, too embarrassed to look at him.
Pai did the same and started at the ground. "Miss Midorikawa…how would you feel if you and I…if…if we entered into a relationship?" Pai asked as a pink tinge came across his face.
Lettuce looked up quickly, hair blowing in the breeze as both of them were silent for a moment. "Well…I…" Lettuce said blushing light pink as she spoke softly and looked down and cast her eyes down at the ground and back up to his eyes "I would like that." Pai's eyes widened. He was prepared for her to say that she would rather stay friends. "How would you feel about entering a relationship with me?"
"I would find that most agreeable." Pai said. "T…then would you like to enter into a relationship with me?" Pai asked as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Hai Pai-san." Lettuce smiled as she nodded.
"May I seal our agreement with a kiss?" Pai asked.
Ichigo and the others moved in closer to see them kiss. "What's going on?" Ryou asked holding the vial of Mew Aqua.
"Shhh!" the Mew Mews shushed him. "They're going to kiss." Ichigo whispered.
Pai placed his hands gently on the sides of Lettuce's face and leaned forward. They were a few inches away from kissing each other when Pai's parents teleported near them. Pai's head whipped to the side to see his parents standing there.
"Mother!? Father!?" Pai yelled surprised as he moved back away from Lettuce. "What are you doing here?" "Damn it! How come every time I am about to kiss Miss Midorikawa somebody interrupts?!"
"We came to see if the humans agreed to form a truce." Urio stated. "Perhaps we came at the wrong time." Urio said scratching his face with his index finger.
"Why don't you two finish kissing?" Suama giggled as she took hold of her husband's hand.
Pai turned bright red. "Perhaps another time." he said softly glancing at Lettuce. Pai did want to kiss her immensely, but was too reluctant to kiss in front of others.
Pai and Lettuce headed back into the café where the others had hurried into to make it look like they were not watching them. Ryou was talking to Kukki as he handed the Mew Aqua over to her. "We appreciate this very much." Kukki said.
"How will you be getting this to your planet so quickly?" Zakuro asked.
"I shall open a portal when we are in our dimension and teleport it to our current planet." Kukki explained. "This way it will get there as quickly as possible."
"Can Pudding visit Taru-Taru's planet when it's saved?" Pudding asked.
"Yeah! Then you can bring me candy and we can play games in town!" Taruto exclaimed.
"Yay!" Pudding shouted as she jumped up and down.
Pai gave a slight chuckle at how cute Pudding and Taruto looked together. "Of course our planet will require more work than just infusing the Mew Aqua with our planet." Pai stated. "It would be beneficial for us to have a set of laws in order since Deep Blue will no longer be leader."
"I will accompany your sister and explain to our people the situation." Urio said.
"We will need to inform them about your operation going on here." Kukki said looking at Ryou and Keiichiro. "Would that be alright?"
"I suppose you could tell them about Tokyo Mew Mew." Ryou said crossing his arms.
"I'll be sure to inform them that they helped us for the safety of our people and planet." Kukki said bowing slightly.
"I would refrain from informing them about the current state of Deep Blue." Pai said crossing his arms. "I would also refrain from informing them that we no longer intend to restore his powers. If others who are dedicated to Deep Blue were to find out I am sure it would spark some sort of rebellion."
"Of course." Kisshu said sighing disappointedly. "I'd prefer if they know how deceitful he was being towards them, but…as long as our people are saved." Kisshu said shrugging.
"We should head back for now." Kukki said nodding at the other. Suama and Urio thanked Ryou and the Mew Mews before teleporting off to the ship. Pai told Lettuce he would back later tonight to escort her home. Kisshu, Taruto, and Pai then teleported off to the ship.
Nighttime
Pai walked Lettuce home that night after she got off work. "Thank you Pai-san for walking me home." Lettuce said as he walked her to her front door.
"It is no trouble." Pai said. Pai noticed Lettuce's brother looking out the window, watching him. Pai patted Lettuce on the head and began to walk away.
"Pai-san! Would you like to see the fireworks with me!?" Lettuce asked causing Pai to stop in his tracks.
"Pardon?" Pai asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Well this week is the festival and I was thinking that if you wanted to we could watch the fireworks together."
"That sounds agreeable. I have never been to a festival before, nor have I seen fireworks." Pai stated. "May I ask when I shall meet you at your residence?"
"Um…maybe around seven?" she said blushing thinking about what she wanted to do with Pai that night.
"That sounds like a reasonable time." Pai said. He was curious as to why she seemed nervous and began blushing. To him the inner workings of the female mind were an enigma to him.
"Goodnight Miss Midorikawa." Pai said. A few blocks away he teleported back to the ship as soon as he noticed he was out of sight from any humans.
Cyniclon ship
Pai walked into the living area and sat down at the chabudai across from his sister. "How'd everything go?" Kukki asked as she read up on Japanese culture.
"Fine." Pai said coldly. He still thought about why Lettuce might be blushing when she told him around seven.
"Just fine?" Kukki questioned not looking up from the book.
"Kukki…you are a female…" Pai began.
"What gave it away?" Kukki asked dryly.
"Miss Midorikawa and I are attending the festival this week and she wants me to meet her at her residence at seven. Is there any reason why she would be blushing and nervous?" Pai asked as he rested his chin in his hand.
Kukki looked up with a raised eyebrow. "What time did you say?"
"Seven post meridian." Pai stated tapping his finger against the table.
"She wants to have sex with you." Kukki said looking back down at her book.
