"By starlights glow!" Haruhi paused catching a smell so sweet she felt almost nauseous. Tamaki burst into her office, Takashi on his feet instantly. "My darling little Haruhi, I've had a thought." She stood slowly as he swept forward to take her place at her desk, not before brushing the back of his nail across her chin. In 3 days the staff would return and the following day the garden party would commence. Haruhi was swamped with calls and coordinating deliveries all on her own. She'd holed herself up for the past 2 days just to be sure nothing had been missed.
"Yes sir," she hummed lacing her fingers together as Takashi took place at her side, one pace behind her. Tamaki seemed almost drunk, he hadn't even buttoned his shirt. That must be the smell. She concluded as Tamaki looked at the pile of invoices in front of him she'd been finalizing.
"I will give you 3 days off after the party. Yes 3 days is a good amount." He began folding one of the papers into a crane, Haruhi tensed as Kyouya would be furious about the condition of the invoice later. She would ask for a new one to be sent to the castle. "3 days to go home and visit your dear papa." After completing his art project Tamaki stood gracefully, almost floating to place it in her hands. He leaned forward his dizzying scent sending her mind into a spiral. As if he noticed a grin spread across his face.
"Miss Fujioka I have great expectations!" Before she could say a word he was out the door. Keeping balanced she stared at the paper crane folded so beautifully in her hands. Feeling almost drunk herself she eased back to her desk and chair. Takashi stood, watching her intently. She couldn't shake her unease again.
"I shall return to my room." Something felt wrong, off about herself. She felt itchy but not, she felt restless but suddenly extremely tired. Takashi said nothing and Haruhi thought she spotted a slight grimace pass his features. Clumsily packing her drawer of her things Haruhi stood and focused as hard as she could on simply walking to the door. She stumbled once and without even asking Takashi lifted her into his arms carrying her out.
He set her down gently in front of her door she gripped onto him feeling like she was falling, slowly she stumbled in closing her door behind her. The spinning slowed as she slid to the floor, Haruhi noticed only then she was sweating. Forcing herself to take deep breath's she crawled towards the wardrobe, she shoved aside some lengthy garments kicking anything on the floor of the wardrobe aside closing the doors as much as she could.
Clasping her hands over her ears she focused entirely on breathing steadily, her heart throbbed in her head and she was trembling. Maybe she was sick, maybe she was working too much, or maybe...she dared to think she was terrified. The smell of fabric softener eased her a little but she remained tucked inside the wardrobe until slowly she drifted off to sleep.
Takashi reacted immediately but Tamaki was mere inches from him before he'd noticed. The twins stood on either side of the hall a looming unwelcome presence. The pair had blood dripping from their mouths, they'd been feeding mere moments ago. Keeping his body between them and the door to Haruhi he held his ground. Tamaki had carelessly been using his charms and visited Haruhi after having fed on Kyouya. The smell lingered. "Fret not dear Mori, I had no intention on breaking the deal." Takashi tensed hearing the words drip from the mans mouth.
"Hikaru, Karou, report to my office immediately." Tamaki didn't look away from Takashi his disarming grin ever present on his face. "Awe come on boss-" "Now" The two shared a look and vanished towards the stairs. "I needed her to have an excuse to return to her room, it turns out she can react to fear. I just had to know" Takashi grit his teeth but didn't move. The smell of Kyouya permeated from Tamaki's skin, it was horrid. "I'll deal with the children, she'll be safe."
Takashi untangled his tense muscles sitting inches from Haruhi's door. He glanced at the intricate mark on the frame straining to hear her behind the barrier. But it was no use, until she came out he had no idea what was happening to her inside the room. None of them did. Tamaki aside the twins still looked volatile, something hopefully the blonde would deal with before the next party. Takashi revealed in the return of Mitsukuni in the castle, with Kyouya recovering from Tamaki's whims the twins weren't as easy to keep in line. Not if Tamaki truly wanted Haruhi to stay in the dark for much longer.
Here's where we will deviate from the episodical releases of the show in terms of titles, could I have attached this to last chapter, absolutely. But writing in spurts is helping me as I use my breaks from homework to write this and compile what I have left of the original story. Let me tell you teenage me was grammatically someone else entirely. Whoever gave me my good grades back then needs some help assessing a teenagers use of the English language.
