It was early, the birds not yet singing and Ianto stood in a large silk dressing gown of the palest, delicate peach. Jack was watching from the bed the man had just exited, their cuddle in the darkness not something that raised eyebrows anymore. No sex but definitely kisses and hugging.

It had been almost a week since the plane crash and in that time it had become clear to everyone that these two were an item. Jack flicked back the blankets that had covered them both, reaching for his own dressing gown, this one a midnight blue with white lace.

Yeah… so clearly the stuff was all female but these men were manly enough not to care. Rhys had decided the red one looked cute but Owen had gone for black with a look of thunder that told everyone he would not appreciate ribbing for it.

The silk PJs to match had all thankfully been in a large size so the bottoms fitted the menfolk, the two women taking the large tops as nightshirts. Everyone had sleepwear. It's the little things, ya know?

Rhys was sitting by the door and rose as Ianto touched his shoulder, shaking him out of his mind wanderings and he smiled as he headed in to take the warm spot Jack was now vacating for him.

Three beds.

It was working.

Owen and Tosh had one. Barbie and Bub had one. Ianto and Jack shared one with Rhys, taking turns as they each took a night of stargazing… and sea watching for signs of a boat's running lights. So far, it was working. Owen had offered but they assured him that his work during the day as their doctor and fire builder was important. Yeah… he had bought it.

Sooner or later they might need a fourth bed but jack was already considering the large sarongs for the container, how to fashion a hammock out here on the front veranda so the watcher might have company. He and Ianto taking turns right now to lay on the ground and stargaze while the other watched the sea.

Deep down, he wanted Ianto to sleep. Every second night was not enough, the man was frazzled. Jack never slept much, it was not new to him but clearly Ianto was getting fatigued and could not sleep during the day. Something about the light?

Ianto was also thinking about the others. Gwen's Group. He was not so calm about that, his mind in turmoil as he wondered what they were doing, what they might be planning and if they might come after them in an aggressive way. The agreement was to stay away from one another but once they realized help was not around the next wave… would they remain in their own lane?

.

.

"Jack? You got a moment?"

"Sure Tiger" Jack said softly as he looked over from the newly minted hammock. It was late, maybe after midnight and they were on night watch, Ianto siting the chair like he usually did.

"I am worried about the others."

"Look… I know you have a big heart and offered….."

"No. No, I mean… I do not know if we are safe from them if they decide to raid us."

"What…like insurgents?" Jack asked, shock in his voice as Ianto watched his silhouette in the moonlight.

"They can not exist on coconuts and bananas forever. Do you really think any of them are capable of catching a fish? Really? And cook it?" Ianto scoffed.

Jack laughed softly, then agreed "Maybe we need to set up some defences? I mean… if we disguise the goat track with some bushes or something... make it harder to find us."

"And the smoke we set up every night will never lead them to us… yeahhhhh" Owen's voice joined in from the doorway making Jack squeak, the hammock swinging from his involuntary jump. Ianot cringed but the knotted ends held.

"I think we need to close the tunnel from them to us" Ianto finally said.

"And if they need help?"

"Like Dylan did? What was she going to do with him if I hadn't arrived to take him? Opps, fell in the rock pool and drowned… so sad?" Ianto asked softly, his voice like a whisper.

"Fuck" Owen sighed as he slumped in another chair "You're right."

"Not like we can blow it but… we can push some boulders in front of it at high tide, easier to move them in the water" Jack finally agreed "I hear you. They can still get around if they swim around the reef. If they do that, they are desperate."

"Sounds good to me" Ianto nodded then considered his words which made Jack aware of the fact there was more.

"Ianto?"

"I've not mapped the entire island in my head, there is still another area and beech section to look at. Once I've looked at the bottom of those very back of the cliffs… I can settle knowing I have it all in my brain box."

"How about a picnic?" Jack suggested. "To check those cliffs?"

"A day of it? You and I have a little wander, just us?" Ianto smiled softly "Sounds nice."

"Well, some investigation, wandering and… maybe a little cuddle where there are no other eyes watching?" Jack whispered, making Ianto blush and he was glad it was too dark for it to be seen.

Nookie.

Jack was talking about some nookie.

Yes please.
