It was still dark outside when Merrill awoke from her slumber with intense stomach cramps, Hawke was asleep peacefully at Merrill's side.
Merrill moves the covers aside and makes her way over to the privy where she manages to drop her undies just in time to avoid a mess, her stomach cramping more, the smell of loose stool filling the small room,
She sits there for what feels like 2 hours, waiting for the horrors of the sickness to fade.
As soon as she is done, she tidies herself up, washes her hands in the basin nearby and hobbles back to bed.
She lies down, feeling slightly nauseated, she takes a few deep breaths allowing herself to calm down enough to close her eyes.
Hawke wakes up to the sound of slight whimpers from Merrill's side of the bed, She notices the pale complexion of her lover and how she is breathing slightly laboured.
She notices how Merrill's night dress is clinging to her skin as is covered with sweat.
Merrill stirs finally deciding to sit up a little, Hawke then proceeds to feel her head for a fever.
When none is present, Hawke then asks Merrill what is wrong?
Merrill admits that she woke up with an upset stomach, that she thinks it was caused by a meal that she had at a new cafe in Hightown.
That she thinks the worst of it has passed and that she would just like her body to cooperate so she could sleep. Hawke then leaves the room to grab some ginger and chamomile tea to ease Merrawke ill's stomach, she returns with some in a mug sweetened with honey, Merrill then proceeds to slowly sip the tea until the contents of the mug is empty, Merrill thanks Hawke and places the mug on a nearby table before settling under the covers for some sleep.
Hawke proceeds to rub circles on Merrill's stomach until she falls asleep.
Hoping that Merrill feels better much later.
