Lucy went back to school the following day, however, basketball was off the cards for at least the next week. Much to the displeasure of her teammates and coach.

"Lucy Wheeler." A boys voice called. Lucy knew exactly who it was right away. Ollie.

She turned to see him jogging to catch up with his bag slung over one shoulder.

"Hi."

"What happened to you?" He asked noticing the boot and her wrist still bandaged.

"Rock got in my way mountain biking."

"Unlucky. No basketball then I'm guessing?"

"Not this week at least." She told him.

"Let me carry your books for you. We're going to the same class." He said holding out a hand.

"You don't have to."

"I know. I wouldn't offer if I didn't want to." He said taking them.

"Thanks."

The pair walked to the class together making small talk. Most of the students were already in the class room when they arrived.

"You're just wanting a piece aren't you Anderson." Nick Adams said seeing them come in to the room together.

"Just ignore him." Lucy said making her way to his seat.

"Oh don't be such a sook Wright. Everyone knows you're easy." Nick said taking a shot.

"Give it a rest, would you Nick." Sam said, not wanting it to escalate.

"It's Wheeler you little fuck." Lucy said turning in her seat to look at Nick.

"Listen to Sam would you Adams, we all know what happened last time." Ollie said with a smirk, putting Lucy's books down. A few other students in the classroom laughed.

"The fuck did you say to me." Nick said louder standing up, looking at Lucy.

"You heard me." She told him confidently.

Nick moved getting closer to Lucy, now red in the face. "You're a piece of shit. You should have kept your mouth shut but no, you had to be a tease and fuck around." He spat looking down at her.

"What are you talking about. You're the one who drugged me." Lucy said rolling her eyes.

"I haven't finished." Nick said reaching out to grab her before Ollie grabbed Nick's arm, twisting it behind him and pinning him on the desk. "The fuck, Anderson!" He cried out, other students looking on in shock. No one expected that from Ollie Anderson, the quiet boy who didn't bother anyone.

"How many damn times do you have to be told to shut your mouth Adams, or do you need someone to shut it for you." Ollie said, Nick struggling against him. Lucy never noticed how tall Ollie really was until seeing how big he looked against Nick Adams. His long-ish hair half covering his face from view.

Nick continued to struggle until Ollie let him go before going to sit down in his own seat. When Ollie's back was turned Nick raised his fist to punch him.

"Duck Ollie." Lucy yelled out, hoping he would have a quick enough reaction time. Ollie turned slightly ducking as the fist missed him.

"You're a damn coward, Adams." Ollie said before throwing his own right first, connecting with the side of Nick's face loudly. He fell to the ground quickly while Ollie shook his hand off.

"Did anyone see that?! He attacked me." Nick cried out.

"Oh shut up Adams, you deserved it. You tried to grab a girl, let alone a Dutton." Another boy told him.

Lucy looked back at Ollie who was looking straight at her. He mouthed a 'sorry' before looking down. She turned back around thinking what her parents would say when they found out because there was no doubt Nick Adams would be running home to tell his parents.

Class continued once the teacher arrived without any other issues before Lucy and Ollie went their seperate ways for the rest of the day. When the final bell rang for the day Lucy shoved her books in her bag before zipping it up to meet Beth.

"Lucy Wheeler. Wait up!"

"You can call me Lucy, Ollie."

"You don't like your full name?" He asked.

Lucy shrugged. "Sounds like I'm in some sort of trouble."

"Nah, you'd never get in trouble!" He said with a wink making her blush. "Look, sorry for making a scene earlier, I know you said don't worry."

"It's fine."

"He's probably going to complain to the school or at least his folks will but I'll tell them it was all me." Ollie said grabbing his bike before continuing to walk with her.

"Don't lie for me Ollie, you'll do yourself no favours doing that." She told him. He laughed lightly shaking his head.

"Pass me that bag of yours again. Can't have you hurting your back next. Where does your Mom park anyway?"

"Down there." She said pointing to where she could already see Beth waiting, no doubt getting inpatient. "You don't have to carry my stuff."

"I ride that way home anyway." He told her.

"Oi, what's taking you so long!" Beth yelled out the window she had rolled down.

Lucy rolled her eyes grabbing her backpack from Ollie. "Oh I don't know maybe that I hurt my ankle, remember?" She shot back at Beth.

"Yeah yeah, come on baby."

Lucy grimaced being called baby in front of a boy let alone Ollie was embarrassing. Beth looked in the rear view and saw who was standing next to Lucy with his bike.

"Hi Ollie." She greeted.

"Hi Mrs Wheeler. I'll see you Lucy, my mom will be wondering where her baby is too." He said with a grin rising off.

"God dammit Mom! That was so embarrassing!" She said slamming the passenger door shut.

"Anything you want to tell me?" Beth asked, smirking.

"Not really." Lucy said. Seeing Beth nod and then focus on the road made Lucy nervous, she expected Beth to ask why Ollie was carrying her bag to the car.

"Rip said Gator has made dinner for us all tonight."

"Thank god." Lucy said getting comfortable in the passenger seat. Beth rolled her eyes.

Lucy put her bag away before sitting down at the table at home. The fire was going as the nights were cooling down and the house smelt amazing with whatever Gator had cooked.

"How was school Lu?"

"It was all right." She said tucking in to the food.

"I'd say more than all right. Ollie carried her bag to the car." Beth said. Rips grip on his knife and fork tightened.

"Really Mom. He's going to have a fit." She said not even looking at Rip. "He actually punched a kid today defending my honour."

"Now hold on. You better start explaining." Rip said.

Lucy kept her head down not wanting to look at either Beth or Rip. "Nick Adams said Ollie was only helping me because he wanted a piece of me. Sam, another boy at school told him to stop but he didn't. He called me Wright and I told him it's Wheeler and then he stood up and yelled at me, he went to grab me before Ollie grabbed his arm and pinned him to the desk after he called me a tease and said I fuck around."
Rip looked at Beth surprised.
"Ollie let him go. When Ollie went to sit down Nick went to throw a fist with his back turned, I told Ollie to duck just in time before Ollie punched him in the face."

"I'm going go to go down to that god damn school and sort him out myself properly." Rip growled.

"Don't think you'll have to worry about that. Pretty sure you'll get a call tomorrow to come in. Nick's parents have money and he's always running to them." She said.

"Look at us." Beth said. Lucy looked at Rip before looking at Beth. "You don't worry if they call us and you don't worry how much money this Adams kid has because baby you're a Dutton/Wheeler and no body fucks with our kid."

Lucy shook her head, she dreaded her Mom being called tomorrow by the school because she had no doubt Rip was also going to show up.

"One last thing Lu." Rip started. "No boyfriends."

"But what if he's just a friend who is a boy?" She asked making Beth laugh in to the drink she was holding.

"I'll think about it." Rip said.

"I like him. He's sweet." Beth said. Rip looked at her as if he had just been told he had a second head.

"Dear, that is a boy who like our daughter a lot, you're talking about."

"Oh come on. You remember what it's like at 15."

"Exactly!"

"Uh... hello! Right here. Nothing is happening, in case you were wondering."

"Good." Rip said, turning back to his dinner.
