Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.
Chapter 40: Con Job.
(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, Thursday, August 12th, 2010, third person POV...)
In the Autobot base, Miko asks Bulkhead as they make their way into the command center, "Okay, the chores are done, the renovations are done, the upgrades and military vehicle scanning is done, and even the Space Bridge is repaired. Now, can we go dune-bashing?"
Bulkhead answers before saying, "I don't know, Miko. The last time we went dune-bashing, I spent a week picking sand out of my articulators. But I did hear that there's a monster truck rally in town."
Just then, Ratchet says, "Optimus, I'm receiving two signals on restricted bands, but the second one is so restricted that only Autobot sensors can detect it. They're coming from starships inside this solar system."
Ratchet checks the signals, and he says, "By the Allspark! They're Autobot identification beacons!"
Jack then asks, "So, there are other Autobots out there?"
Elita One answers, "Yes, Jack. The masses scattered across the twenty-eight galaxies when Cybertron went dark."
Arcee adds, "But the 'Cons have been known to bait traps with false beacons."
Smokeedge adds further, "And we Autobots employed the same trick once or twice."
Ratchet then contacts the first ship and Optimus says, "Unknown vessel, this is Autobot Outpost Omega One. Identify yourself."
Wheeljack replies, "I've had warmer welcomes from Decepticon combat brigades."
Bulkhead remarks as he jerks slightly in surprise, nearly knocking Miko off his shoulder, and walks over, "Wheeljack?! You old 'Con crusher! What are you doing all the way out here?"
Wheeljack replies before asking, "Bulkhead? That you? What's with all the super enhanced security?"
Bulkhead answers before asking back, "The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons. How soon can you get here and even the odds?"
Wheeljack answers, "Sometime tomorrow, if I put the metal to the pedal."
Miko remarks quietly, "Another Autobot's coming here. How cool is that?"
Optimus says before asking, "Wheeljack – I know of him by reputation only. Bulkhead, can you verify his voice print?"
Bulkhead answers, "He's 1000% the real deal, Optimus."
Optimus nods before saying, "We will send you the landing coordinates, Wheeljack. Have a safe journey."
Bulkhead adds, "See you soon, buddy. I'll make sure you get a proper welcome!"
Wheeljack hangs up.
Arcee asks, "So, who's the boyfriend?"
Bulkhead explains, "Heh heh heh, me and Jackie go way back. We were part of the same war unit, the Wreckers, which means the 'Cons are gonna wish he'd never found us."
Smokeedge adds, "Uh, not to bring up a sensitive subject, but the Wreckers were insubordinate black ops Autobots who were soon placed under the command of Optimus' primary first lieutenant, Ultra Magnus, and he and Wheeljack butted heads a lot, particularly because the Wreckers were undisciplined, insubordinate malfunctions, in the words of other Autobot commanders. And one of the prominent things about the Wreckers that Ultra Magnus tried to instill discipline into was the Wrecker motto: '"Wreckers don't call for backup, they call for cleanup."' And if Wreckers don't call for backup, that decreases their chances of coming back to base alive. Then, a mission that ended badly for the Wrecker known as Ingotfoot because of Wheeljack disobeying Ultra Magnus' orders one last time in the middle of a stealth mission led to Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus engaging in a big argument where they could've come to blows if Wheeljack didn't decide right then and there to leave the Wreckers. And since then, Ultra Magnus led the Wreckers to great victories without further complaints."
Bulkhead looks downcast at that.
Rafael asks, "Impactor, is this true?"
Impactor says, "Yeah, it is, kid. And yeah, Ultra Magnus was a real fun-killer, but at my current age, I realize that it wasn't exactly a good thing to be black ops and reckless all the time, so I guess it was a slightly small price to pay for having him as leader of the Wreckers. After all, that led to great victories for our combiners inducted into the Wreckers, such as Ruination, Centurion, his similar letter compatriots, and Legionnaire, among others."
Ratchet then contacts the second ship and Optimus says, "Unknown vessel, this is Autobot Outpost Omega One. Identify yourself."
Airachnid replies, "Optimus? Is that you? By the Maker, I'm glad to know you and the others are still online."
Optimus replies back, "And the feeling is mutual, Airachnid."
Arcee asks, "Airachnid, how are you?"
Airachnid answers, "I'm doing just grand, Arcee. I'm on a large ship capable of carrying up to 50,000 passengers at a time and I'm coming to Earth with a few old friends that all of you might recognize."
Optimus asks, "That is wonderful to hear, Airachnid. When will you and the others arrive to the planet Earth?"
Airachnid answers, "In two days from now, if we can prevent the Decepticons from finding us. It ain't gonna be easy, but don't expect us to arrive early."
Optimus replies, "We will send you the landing coordinates, Airachnid. Safe journey."
The commlink clicks and the screen returns to normal.
Dylan then asks, "So, the same Airachnid I heard about is coming to Earth?"
Saberfist remarks teasingly, "Sounds like someone's got a crush, in human terms."
Dylan blushes at that, and even Ratchet burst out laughing at that.
On the other hand, Optimus, Ironhide, Alpha Trion, and Smokeedge appeared as though they didn't like or approve of the teasing at all.
On the Nemesis, Soundwave plays back Bulkhead and Wheeljack's words as he searches for Wheeljack's mug shot before finally finding it, "(Filtered; with Soundwave's voice) Wheeljack?! You old 'Con crusher! What are you doing all the way out here? Bulkhead? That you? What's with all the super enhanced security? The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons."
Starscream remarks before saying, "A war hero, hmm? We haven't got much time. Makeshift."
The Decepticon Shifter similar in appearance to Knock Out approaches the center of the bridge.
Soundwave attaches one of his tentacles onto Makeshift's chestplate and downloads the schematics of Wheeljack's appearance to Makeshift's Shifter abilities, making him look exactly like and sound like Wheeljack even as the rest of the audio says, "(Filtered; with Soundwave's voice) The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons. How soon can you get here and even the odds? Sometime tomorrow, if I put the metal to the pedal. See you soon, buddy. I'll make sure you get a proper welcome!"
Starscream remarks, "I, too, know how to prepare a proper welcome."

and fly down the highway before transforming to robot mode, with Optimus being first. The entire Autobot army then gets accompanied by all of their generic troops and they stand tall. In the Autobot base, Rafael activates his Techmaster armor and flies alongside Bumblebee as the scout transforms to vehicle mode before driving through the open Ground Bridge portal. Miko does the same by activating her Nitrosmine armor as Bulkhead transforms to vehicle mode before they respectively drive and fly through the portal. And finally, Jack activates his Iron Speedster suit and flies behind Arcee as she transforms to vehicle mode and drives through the portal. In a red sky battleground not too similar to Cybertron, Megatron walks forward while firing pot shots from his Fusion Cannon while Starscream transforms to his jet mode and flies forward. Starscream fires his two missiles at Optimus, but he avoids the missiles while running towards Megatron. Optimus fires a shot at Megatron, and he fires back. The two leaders rush towards each other and they punch each other in the face in unison before the title appears: Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.)
The next day, some of the Autobots are watching the monitors.
Arcee says, "Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing zone."
Wheeljack's ship moves ever so close to the landing zone in Cairo, Egypt, represented by a blue dot looking like a video game style sniper rifle target lock-on.
Rafael asks, "You think he's here to visit?"
Miko replies, "Maybe he'll stay. Hmm, we'd have to find for him his own human though."
Smokeedge replies, "Ooh, no, no, no, five hundred and forty-one humans are more than enough for me."
Ratchet then says as the Space Bridge starts up, "Same here, Lieutenant. Space Bridge cycling up."
The controls spark again, despite the Forge upgrades.
Ratchet bangs the controls with his left fist and he snarls, "Blasted Scraplets! Even our Forge upgraded equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation and Forge repair upgrades."
Smokeedge comes up with his Mini-Forge and he mystically bangs the controls, upgrading them as well as the workings of the Space Bridge and the technology of Autobot Outpost Omega One to Decepticon level technology.
Smokeedge then says, "Try it now."
Ratchet tries again, and this time, the Space Bridge fully activates with the coordinates set for the landing zone in Egypt.
Jack inquires as he activates his armor, "So, Wheeljack's gonna land halfway across the world, in an African country, no less, and you're gonna bring him here?"
Nightimus Prime answers, "Yes, because the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship and therefore we can't take any chances."
Optimus adds, "Nightimus is correct; we cannot risk revealing the location of our base, since the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship."
Miko says as she activates her armor after noticing Bulkhead pacing nervously and excitedly, "Dude, I've never seen you so stoked."
Bulkhead replies, "Oh, you're gonna love Wheeljack. We were like brothers, and tonight, we are gonna party!"
Nitrosmine remarks, "Sahweet!"
Just then, the proximity sensor alarm sounds, and everyone looks to see sixty Vehicon Fliers intercepting Wheeljack's ship and closing in fast.
Arcee says, "Bogies, closing in fast on Wheeljack's position."
Optimus then says, "Autobots, Iron Legion, roll out!"
The Autobots transform to vehicle mode and they drive and fly through the portal, and the Iron Legion flies alongside them.
In Egypt, the Vehicon Jets fly after Wheeljack's ship and they shoot at it.
Eventually, a blaster bolt shoots down the Jackhammer by taking out the right thruster.
The Jackhammer crashes, leaving a skid mark behind.
The sixty Vehicon Jets transform to robot mode and land.
The lead Vehicon Jet approaches the crash landing, but Wheeljack guns him down.
The other Vehicons bring out their blasters as Wheeljack emerges.
Wheeljack remarks, "If you're trying to ruin my day, you're gonna have to try harder."
Wheeljack slides on his battle mask before the Vehicons open fire.
Wheeljack dodges the Energon bolts before jumping high and landing in the middle of the Vehicon Jet circle on top of a Vehicon Jet.
Wheeljack throws another drone over his shoulder before punching out another and then dodging a bludgeon from another drone's blaster.
Then Wheeljack jump vaults over the drone before ripping off the drone's left arm and kicking him away.
Wheeljack then proceeds to beat another Vehicon Jet with the same ripped off arm.
And then, Wheeljack says as he deploys his swords, "You 'Cons have gone soft on me."
Wheeljack proceeds to slice and dice Vehicon Jets, and Starscream watches this from the monitors of the Nemesis.
Starscream says, "Swiftly, before the Autobots arrive."
Soundwave plays back a recording of Megatron saying, "(Filtered; with Soundwave's voice) Too late, Starscream."
Starscream watches from the monitors as the Autobots arrive, and Starscream snarls, "Makeshift, accuse the real Wheeljack of being an imposter."
At the battle site, the real Wheeljack decapitates the last Vehicon Jet.
Bulkhead remarks, "Heh heh, I taught him that."
Wheeljack puts his swords away and says, "Nice to see you guys made it."
Impactor says, "Never forget one more, Jackie."
Wheeljack shoots down one remaining Vehicon Jet and approaches the group.
Wheeljack slides off his battle mask and says, "If this is all that's currently left of the Autobots, the planet's in bigger trouble than I thought."
Bulkhead comes up and bear-hugs Wheeljack while saying, "Jackie! Hahahahahahahaha!"
Wheeljack remarks, "Ha-ha! What's to finish, you old wrecking ball?"
Just then, a Ground Bridge opens up, revealing Makeshift.
Smokeedge remarks, "Decided to crawl out of your quarters on the Nemesis, Makeshift?"
Makeshift realizes that the jig is up and he bolts back through the Ground Bridge portal before it closes.
Smokeedge growls, "Argh! Didn't even get to blow him up with a grenade and a Nucleon Detpack."
Wheeljack remarks, "Regardless, I like the way you think, Lieutenant."
In the Autobot base, the Autobots return through the Space Bridge.
Ratchet closes the Space Bridge portal and the Space Bridge powers down.
Bulkhead then says as Miko unveils her head and face from her battlesuit, "Jackie, come here. Meet my other best buddy, Miko Nakadai, aka Nitrosmine when she wears that battlesuit. With her armored battlesuit and weaponry, she can wreck Decepticons real well with the best of us in spite of her size."
Miko remarks, "Hiya."
Wheeljack remarks back, "You keeping Bulkhead out of trouble?"
Miko replies, "I try, but trouble finds us anyway."
Wheeljack replies back, "Well, I know we'll get along just fine."
Optimus then approaches and Wheeljack says, "Optimus. It's a privilege."
Optimus replies before questioning, "Likewise, soldier. What have you to report from your long journey?"
Wheeljack answers, "Been bouncing from planet to planet and moon to moon, searching for signs of friend, foe, weapons, and Energon. And as you can tell from the unlimited subspace compartment of my ship, I brought lots of party favors you guys might need. And now, I find friend and foe here on this planet."
Optimus replies, "Thank you for the '"party favors,"' Wheeljack. Together, we are many and strong united. We've temporarily suffered losses, but we have grown vastly. And we would relish welcoming a new member to our fold."
Wheeljack replies, "I'd be honored."
Bulkhead remarks, "Then let's get this party started!"
Bulkhead slaps Wheeljack's back and they bump chests.
Ratchet then bemoans, "Oh, joy."
Smokeedge then says, "Optimus, I volunteer to be the party supervisor."
Optimus replies, "Volunteering granted."
On the Nemesis, Starscream says calmly but dangerously, "You did nothing wrong, Makeshift. We were a bit hasty. Perhaps the Autobots had come prepared somehow."
Starscream then quizzes, "Soundwave, do you have any theories about how the Autobots were able to intercept Wheeljack and expose Makeshift?"
Soundwave shakes his head no.
Starscream then says, "Very well."
In the Autobot base, Miko is playing her electric guitar to the tune of Daft Punk's Technologic song.
Bulkhead then says, "Come on, Jackie, show me what you got!"
Wheeljack tosses the lobbing ball at Bulkhead, and he catches it close to his bottom chest, making him skid backwards a bit.
Bulkhead remarks, "Whoa. Ha ha ha, nice lob."
Bulkhead tosses the lobbing ball back at Wheeljack, and he tosses it back.
Jack asks, "So, what's that about?"
Arcee answers, "It's called lobbing. It's Cybertron's favorite pastime, especially among the Warrior Class troops aside from just Wreckers."
June asks, "Kind of like how baseball is the favorite pastime of the United States?"
Arcee answers again, "In a sense, yeah."
Bulkhead tosses the lobbing ball back at Wheeljack, and he catches it while stepping backwards a bit because of how hard the lobbing ball was thrown.
Miko then says, "Come on, Raf, show us some moves!"
Raf looks exasperated and embarrassed at the same time for a moment before saying with a small groan, "Oh, all right."
Raf gets up from the floor and starts doing the robot dance while Miko plays her guitar to the tune of the robot dance song.
Bumblebee, Arcee, Jack, and June watch this, and Jack remarks, "Pff hahahahahaha, of course: the robot dance."
As Raf dances the robot dance, Bumblebee joins right in, and they do the robot dance in perfect unison.
Ratchet sighs in annoyance as soon as he sees this happening.
Smokeedge then asks, "Let me guess: you find the robot dance annoying and offensive?"
Ratchet replies, "What do you think?"
Smokeedge replies back, "Ahh, that's what I thought."
Agent Fowler then inquires, "Where's Prime?"
Elita One answers, "He went for a drive, and Firmaquake went for a flight. Soldiers like Firmaquake and Primes don't party."
Nightimus replies, "Ancient Primes, perhaps, but not this one, and certainly not your children or Optimus' clone siblings among other younger Primes."
Nightimus gestures behind her to show Uniform Prime, Romeo Prime, Oscar Prime, Whiskey Prime, Kilo Prime, India Prime, Zulu Prime, Balto Prime, Adon Prime, Helius Prime, Gator Prime, Kunta Prime, Gemstone Prime, Zeeva Prime, Milita Prime, Lulu Prime, Daenerys Prime, Yellowheart Prime, Whitebright Prime, Weirdmagic Prime, Valorous Prime, Quebec Prime, Overquash Prime, Melinda Prime, Juliett Prime, Rainimus Prime, Twinimus Prime, Flintimus Prime, Stoneimus Prime, Squawkimus Prime, Pipeimus Prime, Aristeus, Seeley, Yankee Prime, November Prime, Lima Prime, Monika, Hannelore, Sookie, Eventide, Sunrise, and Seiren partying by either playing cards, playing Trouble, playing chess, or by playing Transformers: Dark of the Moon on multiplayer Team Deathmatch.
Elita One remarks, "Looks like I partially stand corrected."
Just then, Bulkhead says, "Comin' at ya!"
Bulkhead throws the lobbing ball hard, and Wheeljack jumps to catch it, but it bounces off of his hands, and Smokeedge catches it.
Smokeedge then asks, "Now, do you both see why I volunteered to be party supervisor?"
Wheeljack replies, "Sorry, Lieutenant; guess we're just a little charged up."
Wheeljack then inquires, "Ratchet built this Ground Bridge from scratch, huh?"
Smokeedge answers, "Yes, and with the Forge of Solus Prime, we supercharged it into a Space Bridge for if in the event we ever need to make a mission to Cybertron."
Wheeljack then inquires, "Is something wrong with it?"
Smokeedge answers, "It was damaged marginally in a Scraplet infestation last week, and we did everything to repair it, including using our Forges. Ratchet put it in shutdown mode for a one hour defrag process."
Wheeljack asks, "And what if we need to use it for a mission?"
Ratchet answers this time, "I can't disrupt the defrag process without causing irreparable damage along the way."
Wheeljack replies, "All right, fair enough."
Smokeedge chortles mentally, "You failed, Makeshift, and Starscream failed too."
On the Nemesis, Starscream then says, "That is an excellent idea, Hawkmonger, but the question is whether or not it can be done so effectively that the Autobots will not be able to come up with a counter-offensive for that design plan."
Hawkmonger answers, "I calculate that there is a 45% chance the Autobots won't be able to make a counterattack protocol for any part of this plan of a concealed backup knife able to be deployed from a Decepticon hand in case one Decepticon was stripped of other weapons, in case said Decepticon had their servos in stasis cuffs, or if in the event he or she wound up with their T-Cog damaged."
Starscream replies, "Excellent. Prepare for other projects involving the fictional weapons."
Hawkmonger replies, "Yes sir."
In the Autobot base, Bulkhead is telling an old war story as he remarks before asking, "So, there we were, no communications, low on Energon, surrounded by Decepticon drones, so what does Wheeljack do?"
None of the humans answer, not knowing the answer themselves.
Bulkhead says, "Hehe, tell 'em, Jackie!"
Wheeljack replies, "Heh, I placed my only grenade into the primary heat exchanger, and the place went supernova. Seemed like a good idea at the time."
Miko remarks in awe, "Awesome!"
Bulkhead admits as he rubs his butt plates, "Yeah, I'm still picking shrapnel out of my backside."
Arcee remarks, "I'm not surprised, given the size of your backside."
Bumblebee buzzes, "And considering how much time you spend doing that, it's a no-brainer that it takes way too long because of the sizes of the shrapnel pieces."
Ratchet then says, "Ah, almost there."
Bulkhead nods before saying as he gestures to Wheeljack's grenade, "There it is – Jackie's signature, one grenade, one shot."
Wheeljack replies, "Yep. And unfortunately, because of the way my frame is designed, I can only carry one grenade at a time."
Smokeedge adds, "And the only downside is, if Wheeljack is facing a horde of Decepticon reinforcements and he can't reach his grenade case, he won't stand a chance aside from just relying on his Cyber-Ninja martial arts training and his sword skills."
The next morning, Smokeedge says, "So, in conclusion, that's what I and my spies have to report."
Optimus then says, "Smokeedge, Pocept, Conlicy, Courtcoast, Promission, Comject, Constances, Circumstant, Levect, Affel, Coaxrave, Cleavehorde, the twelve of you did a job well done."
Bulkhead then says to Wheeljack, "Now that you along with Sealsack, Dealrack, Peelslack, Bealmack, and Brielhack are all a part of Team Prime, we need to pick out vehicle modes for you. I have some ideas."
Wheeljack then says, "Uh, about that, Bulk, now that my ship is repaired, I'm itching to know if any more members of the Wreckers are still alive."
Smokeedge replies, "Actually, with Vector Prime's help, I was able to save Tracktor, Sacktor, Kaptor, Naptor, Goadbuster, Nodebuster, Woadbuster, Stowedbuster, Skintwist, Thintwist, Wintwist, Brintwist, Mobspin, Lobspin, Cobspin, Gobspin, Curl, Berle, Burl, Churl, Motorstorm, Coaterstorm, Doterstorm, Fotorstorm, Betfire, Chetfire, Dettefire, Bretfire, Heespray, Measpray, Spreespray, Breaspray, Gyro, Spyro, Syro, Rhino, Spreadfoot, Redfoot, Dreadfoot, Shedfoot, and a few others from their deaths and pointed them in Earth's direction. But first things first, they're gonna try to rendezvous with more Wreckers and other Autobots before getting here in... two to five months."
Miko then asks, "Wheeljack's leaving? Why?"
Bulkhead answers, "Oh, because some Bots never change. Heh heh."
Optimus then says, "Wheeljack, know that you'll always have a safe haven here."
Bulkhead then says, "Jackie never stays, but he always comes back."
The twosome bump fists.
Back in Egypt, the Ground Bridge portal closes.
Wheeljack then says, "There's room for two, Bulk, even with a backside like yours. Who knows who else we might find out there, some more of the old crews?"
Bulkhead looks at Miko, and she sadly grips her right bicep.
Bulkhead replies, "Heh, that sounds like fun, Jackie, but my ties are here now, with them, and with her."
Miko looks brightened up again.
Wheeljack then says in a jokingly threatening manner, "If anything happens to my favorite Wrecker, I'm coming after you."
Miko replies before saying as she sets up a camera and her smartphone camera, "I'll take care of him as well as the other way around. Look at the cameras and say, '"Energon goodies."' "
Bulkhead and Wheeljack say in unison, "Energon goodies!" "Energon goodies!"
The cameras take a picture of the threesome.
Wheeljack then says, "Thaumas, Steelwolf, Sunbreaker, keep up the good work. I know the three of you will make awesome Autobots soon."
Thaumas, Steelwolf and Sunbreaker reply one after the other, "Sure thing, Jackie." "But promise us this." "If you see any other Autobots along your path, gather them all together and send them here. We're gonna need all the reinforcements we can get."
Wheeljack replies, "You got it, kids."
Wheeljack eventually leaves, and the Jackhammer eventually vanishes from sight.
Just then, Ratchet contacts Smokeedge and says, "Smokeedge, Airachnid's ship is approaching the landing zone."
Airachnid's ship eventually comes in the opposite direction of where Wheeljack left, and it touches down after fifteen seconds of slowing its descent.
After the ramp deploys, Airachnid comes out of the ship, looking exactly like Smokeedge and the two sets of the Nightowl Trines remember how she looks in the original timeline.
Airachnid spots Steelfist and rushes up towards him, hugging him.
Steelfist says, "Hey there, Airachnid."
Airachnid replies, "I thought I'd never see you again."
Airsized, Airachnid's twin sister in opposite colors, comes up to Saberfist, and they share the exact same exchange.
Dylan is seen looking at Airachnid lovestruck, and this causes a small round of teasing.

Smokeedge then says, "Skyfire. Nice to see you again."
Skyfire replies as he and Smokeedge shake servos, "Same here, Lieutenant."
In no time, the Autobots got acquainted well with their new recruits, and in no time, they met Agent Fowler and were given the rundown of humans, Earth, and the rules to follow.
But Smokeedge and the two Nightowl Trine team sets were concerned, because in a week and a half, the events taking place would be none other than the Convoy episode and the start of MECH interfering in the war between Autobots and Decepticons.
Smokeedge secretly hoped that he would get to kill Silas and his men, but Smokeedge knew Optimus would likely try to stop him despite all that he and the others were taught about MECH.
So, Smokeedge secretly invented Tarantulas' Transformation Lock Lens that only he and he alone can control to prevent any Autobots from stopping him in his endeavor to kill the members of MECH.
Smokeedge then says, "Forgive me, God, but this is a war we can't afford to lose, especially to humans as persistent as MECH."
The End.
