While Sam was working on his zipper he shrugged out of his shirt. Both now naked above the waist his lips found her breast.

"Oh I really missed you the last few days." she said with satisfaction in her voice, her hands slowly found their way into his unruly, salt and pepper hair. One hand wandered to the short hairs at the back of his neck, drawing him closer to her breast where she needed him the most. He sensually suckled on her tender nipple, skillfully nibbling it with his teeth.

His hands placed on her legs, drawing circles with his thumb on the inside of her thighs while she straddled him.

He released her nipple with a soft, gentle sound and looked up to her. Sam bent down to capture his lips with her own, her tongue made its way between his lips, demanding entry to his mouth fighting his tongue with her own.

She sank even deeper onto him, grinding over his hard length. He hissed at the contact, but pleased about the pressure on his cock. "Oh... Sam..." he moaned, making her wetter by the minute. Jack let his hands travel up her legs towards her waistband, pushing her jeans down so his hands could rest on her bare buttocks, guiding her closer to him if that was possible at all.

"Bedroom?" she asked hoarsely.

"Not on my account, unless you're feeling more comfortable there.."

"No, just wanted to check with you."

But when she stood up he watched her confused, hadn't they just agreed they were comfortable in the backyard?

Sam sensed his astonishment and grinned. "You can leave your jeans on and we carry on as before, but I would prefer you naked." She told him as she stepped out of her jeans.

"You would, wouldn't you?" he laughed and slipped out of his trousers as well.

They stood in front of each other, it was the first time in days Jack could admire Sam's body fully naked. He noticed Sam's little bump, he began to kiss her belly where their baby was growing while he sat down on the deck chair again, guiding Sam towards him so that he was eye level with her bellybutton.

Sam shuddered at the contact. While their child grew the skin on her abdomen became very sensitive, sometimes itchy, but now it felt very good on her.

"Jack.." she gasped "I need you...now!"

He silently grabbed her hands and pulled her closer. She gracefully positioned herself on his lap while she sank down on him, allowing his throbbing member to slowly enter her warmth.

"Ahh, that feels so good..." Sam had the suspicions that she entered the horny phase of her pregnancy, because recently she couldn't think of much else and when Jack thrust into her it took everything on her not to come right then.

She let her head fall back and Jack supported her back with his hands. That gave him full access to her firm breasts.

"God, Jack... You're so deep..."

"Honey, I'm not sure how long I'll last if you keep that up. You're so tight, it feels incredible." he panted, trying to hold back as long as he could.

She squeezed him with her inner muscles and as soon as his hand found her clit, circling it to help her come a second time, they were gone.

Screaming out her release, he followed her over the edge after a few last strokes. Both were glad they had a house at the end of the road with no neighbors nearby.

Sam leaned forward and lay down on him, embraced in his strong arms, enjoying the sun warming their bodies.

"If that's how it's going to be every day when we're married I think I can live through that horny stage I'm in right now."

He chuckled, "If that's what you're expecting every day I think you had better choose a younger man."

Her smile was radiant. "Oh I think we will be ok." She said, leaned even further forward and captured his lips into a passionate kiss.

They lay there for a while until Jack heard Sam's stomach rumble with hunger.

"Ok, come on up, I'll fix us something to eat. You want to have a shower in the meantime?"

"I'd like the shower, but not alone." She winked at him.

"As nice as it sounds, you need to eat. Just jump in for a quick shower. How does pasta sound to you?"

"I'd love that, thank you." She kissed him on the cheek and went to their bathroom.

When they sat down to eat Jack began to speak between his bites. "You're up for a walk? It's such a nice day and I thought that maybe a little stroll could do us good."

"That's a good idea, I don't get nearly as much exercise as I used to. Bound to my lab and pregnant, I'll get huge." Sam smiled, but Jack didn't really respond to her joke, it seemed as if his thoughts were miles away and then it hit Sam. She knew what he was up to." You want to go see Charlie.'' It was more of a statement than a question.

He looked up into her eyes, searching for a hint if it was ok with her. "If you don't mind..."

"No, I don't mind, Jack. It's important to you and I would love to go with you."

"Okay."

The rest of the meal was eaten in comfortable silence, each of them enjoying the other's company.

They got dressed properly and Jack moved towards his car, holding open the door from the passenger seat for his fiancé.

On the drive to the cemetery there wasn't much talk either. Sam, still not sure if it was ok for Jack if she started asking questions about Charlie, so she waited for him to start telling her when he was ready.

He parked the Ford in front of the entry. There weren't many cars outside, so there shouldn't be a lot of people around. Jack got out, rounded the car and met Sam at her side. Reaching out he took her hand in his and led the way.

The path crunched beneath their feet, it smelled like freshly mowed grass and the sun was shining brightly. It was such a peaceful atmosphere. Walking hand in hand next to the man she had loved for so long a flood of emotions crashed into her. Jack sensed her stiffen beside him.

"You're ok?"

"Shouldn't that be my question?"

"No Sam, not if you're the one feeling uncomfortable."

"That's not it."

"Then what?"

"I can't explain it, really. There are so many emotions crashing in on me right now, blame it on the hormones. It's so peaceful here, and that I'm able to be here with you. Finally with you, happy. That's everything to me. And I might be a little nervous."

"Nervous?"

"Do you think Charlie would have approved of me?"

He stopped walking in an instant. "Oh Sam, of course. He would have loved you. You would have gotten along great. He shared your love for the stars and also wanted to become an astronaut when he grew up. Come on, there's a bench in front of his grave, let's go there and I'll tell you about him."

It was just a short walk and as they approached the grave he tightened his grip on her hand, not wanting to let her go. The stone was a light gray one with white inscription on it.

'Charlie O'Neill'

And beside his name there was a star engraved.

Her eyes filled with tears, she kneeled down to touch the tombstone.

"Hello Charlie, it's nice to finally meet you. I love your Daddy so much, I know I would have loved you too." she whispered.

Jack felt a lump forming in his throat and kneeled down beside Sam.

"Hey Buddy, guess what...you're going to be a big brother. I know you wanted that for a long time and I'm sorry that you're not around for this. But watch out for your little brother or sister, ok?"

They looked at each other, both had tears streaming down their faces.

"Come, let me help you up. We can sit there for a while." Jack said, holding his hand out to Sam and pointed towards the bench just a few steps away.

"He always wanted to be a brother. Every time I got home from a mission it was one of his first questions. Sara didn't want any more children unless I would be able to be around more and not go out on dangerous missions. I couldn't promise that, I was good at my job and wouldn't give it up at the time, I thought there was enough time later. How wrong I was. But he was a happy child for as long as he lived. Our house was filled with laughter all the time. He had a many friends and it seemed like one of them was always around."

He took a deep breath, obviously fighting his emotions.

Sam squeezed his hand to show her support.

"I bet he would have been a wonderful big brother."

"Yes, he would have been! I always wanted to have a bunch of kids, but I saw what Sara was going through. It's not easy alone and at the time I wasn't ready to put the happiness of my family over the duty of my job. I changed, Sam. I promise, no matter what I'll be there. I won't go running this time."

She rested her head gently upon his shoulder, clasping his arm with her hand.

"I wouldn't let you!"

He smiled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"We sneaked out at night to watch the stars. Sometimes we put up my telescope if he wanted to look at something particular and other times we just layed down on a blanket to watch the night sky. I knew a bit about astronomy, I like stars myself, but Charlie forced me to learn much more about it because he was such a curious boy and wanted to learn everything in detail. When I was home I helped him with his school projects. Please don't laugh, but beside his enthusiasm for sports he also attended the science club."

Sam's eyes grew wide and she had to suppress a laugh. "So you were surrounded by scientists a lot in your life?"

He smirked "I was! And when I met you, astrophysicist, smart like hell and so enthusiastic, I was drawn to you. Most scientists drive me crazy even today, but some of them are special."

They sat a while in silence before Jack again began to speak. "He was smart, from the beginning. He could walk before his first birthday and shortly after he began to speak. On holidays, when I was home, we went to the cabin. He loved to hike, fish and skate. He was good at ice hockey, but loved baseball over all. He broke an arm while skating on the ice and a leg while falling off a tree. He was an explorer and fearless. Some things he had to learn the hard way... " he swallowed because the memories of his death popped into Jack's head, if Charlie had been less curious would he have picked up the weapon? "...he was my best friend!"

He couldn't say more because he felt his throat tighten.

"I bet he was, and I'm sure you were his hero. Thank you for telling me all this about him. That means so much to me."

Jack placed his hand on the soft swell of her belly before his arm wrapped around her to hug her. He placed his head in the crook of her neck, gently breathing in her scent.

"Thank you for being the wonderful person you are, for giving me space when I need it and your support when I don't even know I need it. I love you, Sam. And I can't wait to marry you."

She freed herself from the embrace to be able to look him in the eyes before she leaned in to kiss him. "And I love you, Jack O'Neill. I can hardly wait to be your wife."

Jack had his arm around her and enveloped her in a warm embrace as they strolled back towards the car. They spent the rest of the evening nestled in each other's arms, relishing the precious moments of solitude before the arrival of Sam's family the next day.
