Ladybug sighed as she lazed on the heated rooftop. This was one of the perks about running your own fashion line, but it also had its drawbacks as at times patrol was just sitting on a random rooftop watching the city.

Sure, there hadn't been a akuma attack in years, but Marinette still felt patrol was necessary, at least a few times per week. It was also a lot more fun when her partner, Cat Noir, who was also Adrien and her husband was here to keep her company.

Speaking of Cat, he should be here by now. It wasn't surprising that Adrien might have been held up at work, full of paperwork and meetings and the occasional business trip abroad. But maybe she should call him.

"Hi, love!" Ladybug smiled as Adrien's handsome face appeared on the screen. "Did you forget its patrol night?" she asked. "Sorry, I'm hung up on the other line with a client but I'll be there soon. And love, there so serious, and you know how not serious I can be!"

Adrien loved jokes and puns and putting the occasional paw in the cookie jar or yarn basket. Come to think about I, Cat had never grown out of that phase, as much as Marinette tried to be stern about it, she always hid a smile behind his back.

"I don't want to you change," she assured him. "You can be like Peter Pan and never grow up." "Yeah, but then I'd might have to fight Captain Hook. Whoops, gotta go!"

Ladybug ended the call, and lay back again. She had fallen in love with Adrien's playful side a long time ago, plus his caring and sweet nature. However, Adrien wanted things fair and just, and could be quite stern when he had to be.

A trickle of sweat ran down her face, and she licked her dry lips. What she wouldn't do for a Starbucks Lemonade Refresher, complete with strawberries. Maybe she could at least…. "Lucky Charm!" she tossed her yo-yo into the air, surprised when a squirt gun, a package of two cookies and a water bottle dropped into her hands. Sure, she knew she wasn't supposed to use the Lucky Charm for personal gain, but surely she'd be no good if she passed out from lack of hydration, right?

She swigged at her water, her parched palate thanking her as the cool water slid down her throat. She was about to take another drink, when she paused, bottle poised at her lips.

A black figure was casting a shadow over her, his eyes locked on the package of cookies. Cat.

Now, normally would have shared her cookies, but she was hot from sitting in the sun, and they were her favorite brand of cookie (Oreo.)

Cat leaped down onto the roof besides her, his paw snaking towards the blue package. Ladybug's hand shot out, grabbing the squirt gun.

"Lay one paw on my cookies, and prepare to be soaked," she threatened him. Cat cocked his head. "Who are you, Cookie Monster? Yipes!"

His paw had come to close and Ladybug shot a jet of water towards him. "I warned you. Keep your paw away from the food!" But Cat wasn't listening, and Ladybug realized her mistake.

Not only was it a squirt gun, it was laser pointer squirt gun! Cat meowed, giving a happy trill, and Ladybug took off.

"Down, Kitty!" she yelled as she ran. Cat's feral cat mode had been deployed, and now on the chase was on. They took off across the rooftops, dodged around chimneys, all while Ladybugs precious Oreo were clutched in her hands.

Finally, Ladybug tossed the cookies over her shoulder, for she was beat. Immediately, Cat stopped the chase, plopping on his bottom and opening his prize.

Ladybug nearly crawled back, her legs shaking. "How…" she gasped, "How do you have the energy to chase me?" "I do anything for a cookie," Cat grinned. "Besides, you have meow-excellent taste!"
