Marinette POV
Today is the last day of summer and the day when I will meet the transfer student who will stay with us until next summer. His name is Perseus Jackson and I was told he has ADHD and dyslexia so he has trouble learning. Because of this, he is trying out my high school to try a different learning atmosphere.
Soon enough, I heard the doorbell chime, and my parents and I rushed to the bakery's entrance to be greeted by a well-muscled, black-haired boy. He carried himself with an air of confidence and strength, but you could also feel his nervousness as he glanced around the room. Considering the bags he was holding, we immediately pinned him as Perseus.
My Mom greets him, "Welcome to our home Perseus! I am Sabine, this man is my husband Tom, and this is our daughter Marinette."
I step forward to add, "Hi, I am Marinette. I hope you can feel at home here."
Perseus puts one of his bags down and holds out his hand to me, "It's a pleasure to be here. I look forward to spending my school year with you all."
I take his warm calloused hand in mine to do what the Americans call a handshake. (I researched American customs so he wouldn't feel lonely). Eventually, we released our hands and I went to grab his bags to bring them to his room. I attempted to lift it and even though I'm Ladybug, I don't have super strength outside of my costume.
"Don't worry, I got it." Perseus put his duffel bag on like a backpack and took hold of both suitcases, lifting them up with ease.
I blush heavily in slight embarrassment but tell him to follow me up the stairs out of the bakery. I could feel my parents' gaze on me, probably thinking of things that I might not want to know. Maybe they think I have a crush on Perseus, but I already have another boy in my heart and his name is Adrian. (Wistful sigh)
"Marinette" I hear Perseus say and I immediately smack my hands on my face to wake myself up from my daydream.
"Oh right sorry. Umm, your room is right here, it's not much but you can decorate it however you want." I quickly say, gesturing to the room.
It was a small simple room, complete with a large window viewing Paris, a full-size bed, a small wooden desk in the corner, and a spacious closet. I watched as Perseus scanned the room before walking in placing his bags on the bed and turning to me.
"Looks good to me, I'm content with just having a place to sleep at night. Thank you, Marinette."
"It's no problem Perseus."
"Please, call me Percy. Perseus sounds too formal."
"Okay, Percy. Well, I'll let you unpack and settle in. If you need anything just let us know and feel free to have some sweets from the bakery."
"Don't worry, I will definitely take you up on that offer." Percy smiles.
I smile back before making my exit and going up to my room. Percy was so much nicer than I thought he was going to be. I was expecting more of a stuck-up American, but that's not Percy at all, at least from what I got after only knowing him for like 10 minutes.
"See Marinette, I told you he was going to be nice," Tikki said as she appeared out of my purse that I'm literally attached to.
"Ya, now I just need to balance school, Percy, parents, and being a superhero." I sigh while slouching in my chair.
"Don't worry Marinette, you can do anything. Now you should head back downstairs to help your parents at the bakery. Soak in this last day of no school!" Tikki reassures.
Agreeing to Tikki, I head to the bakery to see Percy eagerly eating a croissant and her parents watching with a smile on their faces. Seeing the scene made Marrinette realize that Percy was going to fit in just fine. That is until a large crash sounded from outside of the bakery, shaking the ground, signifying the arrival of an akumatized villain.
