I'm back, Long wait I know, Two whole days I don't really have too much to say here sorry!
Chapter 3 Gather round
"So where is Summerside anyways? I've never heard of a town call that."
Ah, I knew this question was gonna come up later. I look over to Shauna, my new traveling companion, we just started our journey to the big city a couple hours ago, we mostly chatted about basic topics to try and get to know each other, favorite Pokémon, favorite food stuff like that nothing I couldn't answer… and now I got this quick time event I gotta nail.
"Uh yeah… I don't know if its really on many maps, its kinda small and out of the way so I don't really think it was a priority ya know?" that should work… for now lets just hope she doesn't go asking for a tour or anything.
I take another look at the orange sky, 'probably should stop for the night, I can probably get a fire going in an hour, I saw plenty of kindle on the way here.' I look over at Shauna "Hey, you think we should stop for the night?" Shauna looks over at me then looks at the sky for a minute before responding; "Yeah! I think nows probably a good time to stop! Wow we made pretty good time today we should be in Lumiose in two days at this rate"!
"I'm gonna go collect some wood for a fire, can you make a fire pit for us while I'm gone?"
She gives a little mock salute "I'm on it! Don't take too long kay? Don't want you getting lost in the dark!"
"Deal, I like to think I've gotten pretty good at this whole 'living off the land thing' so I shouldn't be too long. Oh, and I'll make dinner, my treat." Her eyes light up at that, having someone cook for you out here might as well be equivalent to being invited to a five-star restaurant, a rare luxury.
'Ah shit its getting pretty dark, is my phone's clock even set right for this region? It says its 6pm but I'm not sure I believe that shit.' My arms are loaded down with twigs and logs, making my way back to the site we set up on the side of the trail, those damn eyes are still following me. I don't know if I should ask Shauna or not, she seems new to training, so Arceus knows if I'll just come off as paranoid or not.
"Skit Skitty!" well that's a new one, I haven't heard any Skitties on the journey so far. I take a peek over the file of wood in my hands to see Shauna feeding what I can only assume to be the Pokémon she tried to challenge me with, Skitty.
"I'm back! Didn't die, sorry to say" I joke as I set down the logs by the fire pit, she made in my absence
"Very funny smart guy, looks like you could've used a hand out there! You know I'm pretty good at carrying stuff I coulda' helped out" she says while flexing her arm
"I don't doubt it, it just cuts down on time to have everything prepped in advance, I spotted some good kindle on the way up I wanted to grab that's all." I say while wiping the wood scraps off my jacket. "Anyways, how bout I start making dinner?"
"This stew is pretty good! I should pick up a couple packs when we get to the next store" Shauna is happily gulping down spoonful's of stew, i gotta say I agree with her this generic brand stew is pretty good all things considered, I don't think it was meant to be cooked over a fire but I made it work.
"So is Skitty like your childhood Pokémon or…" I say trying to make a bit of conversation.
"Hm? Of yeah! Skitties been with me since I was pretty young! My mom got me her for my birthday we've been a pretty inseparable team eh Skitty?"
"Skitty!" was the response from the cat Pokémon, of course.
"Did you have any Pokémon growing up Alex?"
"Nah not really, my family wasn't really too keen on it, it just wasn't really a priority for any of us, I guess? Then I ended up out here and… well here I am" I say quick while slurping on more stew, she was right this shit is four star at least.
Shauna looks at me for a moment, I can see the gears turning in her head "woah! So, like, none of your family had any Pokémon? that's crazy! Everyone in my town had at least one!
"Yeah, I mostly focused on school… my parents were too busy with their jobs to really put any thought into it, just the way it happened to go" Okay seems like she's buying it, now I would lie and say I had something cool like a Houndoom but one, I have no idea their habits and two, I have no idea if they're rare or not, I'd rather not dig myself a hole.
I sigh, "So, I'm probably gonna hit the hay after this what about you?"
She looks up at me again, "that's probably smart, I'll probably follow your lead and try to get some shut eye. If we get up early, we might make it to Lumiose by night tomorrow, then we won't have to rough it! We can stay in an actual inn or Pokecenter or whatever! I don't care as long as it's got a bed.
I set my bowl back into my backpack and start unrolling my sleeping bag laying my backpack down as a pillow. Its not as fancy as Ms. 'I didn't get dropped into the woods with nothing but a laptop and school supplies' over there but its home. I hear a loud Phomp over to my side and see a FULLY CONSTRUCTED TENT has just appeared out of nowhere.
Seeing the shock on my face Shauna says "What? It's just a sylph co. autocamp? I know its not the newest model or that extravagant, but it was a gift from my dad before I left, okay?" she says, probably thinking that I was judging her.
"Er- yeahhh, I like sleeping under the stars ya know? Really loooove getting in tune with nature… haha nothing better." That was my best try at a response while trying to compute the SPIT in the face to all laws physics, I am bearing witness to, Albert Einstein eat your heart out.
"Oh, well there's room for two if it gets too cold out here but hey man, you do you!" She says before promptly zipping up the tent flap leaving me alone with me, myself and the fire.
'You know it's a good thing I had some music downloaded, I need something to calm my nerves and I think I can justify the battery usage in these dire times.' Popping my earbuds in a choose a classic;

Hey again! Thanks again for reading too the end! I know 1000 words scary right? God I need to figure out how you guys stretch this stuff to 5000 words per chapter. I wish i had that level of creativity anyways peace! hopefully Lumiose next chapter if i don't think of something random for this dumb ass duo to do instead.
