Hanging On The Edge Ch 34
When the bride and groom walked into the reception tent Derek stood in front of them and said, "today is a very special day for two very special people and me along with everybody else here want to wish the two of you a life filled with nothing but peace, joy and happiness", everybody then said, "here here" causing Fran and Dave to smile at what Derek had just said.
Derek looked at his mother and new step father and said, "the first dance is special for a newly married couple, it's a song that signifies their past, their future, their connection, everything and that's why it gives me great pleasure to watch as the two of you embark on the start of the rest of your lives together here today".
Dave intertwined fingers and led her to the middle of the tent, he pulled her into his arms and said, "I love you Mrs. Rossi", Fran winked at him and said, "and I love you Mr. Rossi", it was only a few seconds before the words to All Of Me by John Legend started filling the air of the tent, Fran couldn't help but smile because that was without a doubt one of her favorite songs.
As the newlyweds danced alone for the first verse picture after picture was snapped by their family, they looked amazing together out there on the dance floor, they fit together perfectly, absolutely perfectly. Penelope smiled as she watched her mother and father in law, they were as in love as her and Derek were and it thrilled her to no end that they had finally gotten together.
Soon the dance floor was filled with happy dancing couples as everybody celebrated together with the happy newlyweds, Sarah and Desi stood watching everybody dance, Sarah leaned in and said, "ma looks happy doesn't she?", Desi said, "yeah, yeah she does, this is the happiest I've seen her in a while sis and I just know that daddy is watching down on her and he's smiling right now because all he ever wanted was for her and us to be happy", Sarah nodded her head yes in agreement as her and her baby sister stood watching everybody on the dance floor.
When the first dance ended Fran said, "Dave and I want to thank everybody for everything that you've done to help us with our wedding, this wouldn't have been possible without you and all of your help". Penelope smiled and said, "congratulations again Fran, you and Dave are as perfect together as Derek and I are and in a few short months you're going to have a little grandson or granddaughter that you can spoil rotten".
Fran wiped the tears away that were streaming down her cheeks, she was so happy today and she was so so glad that her family was all here with her and Dave so they can all celebrate together. Dave said, "alright, alright, enough tears, let's eat", everybody laughed and nodded their heads as they headed to the food table where they wasted no time in filling their plates with food.
The reception went on for several hours, the family, ate, laughed, talked and danced and danced and danced, Fran had danced with Hotch, Reid and her son before finally ending back in the arms of her husband. Dave danced with JJ, Em, Sarah, Desi and finally Penelope before dancing his final dance of the night with his beautiful new bride, they saved the cutting of the cake for the last thing of the evening.
Dave and Fran both put their hands on the knife and pushed it down through the beautiful cake that she had prepared, it was a gorgeous 2 tier cake, it was simple but elegant and of course all Fran Morgan Rossi. They then put the piece of cake into a saucer and fed each other a bite, Derek halfway hoped that they would smash the cake on each others faces like him and Penelope did but they didn't, they fed each other the entire piece of cake before grabbing another piece and joining their family at the tables.
Finally a little while later it was time for the honeymooners to head out, they were going to fly to Paris on the Rossi jet, they would be gone for two weeks just like Derek and Penelope. Dave had asked Fran where she had dreamed of going and Paris was the first place on her list so when he got the chance to take her he jumped at it and what better time than on their honeymoon.
Fran hugged everybody and told them that she loved them, she then pulled her son, daughter in law and daughters into a group hug and said, "you all mean the world to me and I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart". She then looked at the rest of the team and said, "I love all of you with all of my heart and I can't tell you what it meant that you were here with me and Dave today", causing the team to smile.
Derek and the others stood watching as Dave and Fran climbed into their car, Fran said, "see ya in two weeks", Derek said, "be safe and have fun", he looked at Dave and said, "take care of my momma". Dave nodded his head and said, "everyday for the rest of my life and that son is a promise", Derek smiled back and stood waving with the others as the car started and pulled away from the house, everybody stood watching and waving until the car pulled out if sight.
JJ said, "alright who wants to partyyyyyy?", Penelope laughed and said, "bring in on blondie, bring it on", Derek said, "be careful you, don't forget that you're almost 6 months pregnant". She put her hand on her stomach and said, "never my love, never", he then watched as she grabbed another small piece of cake and sat down with JJ and Emily, he stood grinning and peeping at her and as he watched her he realized that without her he would be nothing, he would have nothing.
Derek knew that soon he would welcome his first child and he was happy and scared at the same time but he knew that with the support system him and his baby girl had that no matter what life threw at them they could handle.
