Regina
As I am going downstairs I can hear voices from the kitchen. I can hear Tink and Henry talking about making coffee and asking if anybody else would like a cup. I can hear David agree and Snow saying yes as well. I am at the end of the staircase when I hear Snows voice again.
"How is she?"
"We don't know." I hear Tink.
"She hasn't come out of the room yet." This time its Henry talking, and I can hear the sadness in his voice.
I take a deep breath before starting to make my way into the kitchen. As I get closer I can smell the eggs and Pancakes. I can also hear my stomach grumble. It´s just now that I am realizing how hungry I am. I guess skipping lunch and dinner wasn't such a great idea yesterday. I am taking one last breath and tell myself that I can do this. The walls are back up although not as high as they used to be. The reason for that is that the part of me that's supposed to be protected by them is in a box upstairs underneath my bed. No one is going to notice. You can do this.
As soon as I am entering the kitchen I can see all eyes on me and Henry is running up to me and gives me a huge hug.
"Good morning, Mom. We made you breakfast."
"Thank you, sweetheart." I kiss him on his head and make my way to the coffee machine. My back is turned to Tink, David and Snow but I can still feel their eyes on me.
"Stop staring." I tell them as I pour myself some delicious and much needed coffee. I take a long sip before looking around to face everyone.
David and Snow are looking away imediately being very interested in their coffees all of a sudden. Tink is just looking at me and Henry is bringing me a plate with some eggs and a Pancake. I smile at him and give him a kiss on his head before taking the plate from him and walking around the counter standing in the middle of the kitchen and taking a seat next to David.
"I am okay." I tell them as I am putting the coffee and the plate down.
"Of course." David and Snow say insinc.
"No you´re not." I hear Tink.
I finish jewing and swollowing the eggs before answering her.
"I am. She has been dead fo me for a few years now. She has never been a mother for me. She didnt even have a heart until a few moments before her death. I can´t mourn someone who was never there in the first place."
Everyone is looking at me with a bewildered look while I am taking another sip of my coffee, God knows I need it more than the food in front of me but I´d never admit that aloud. Tink is about to say something when I hear the door opening and footsteps making their way into the kitchen. No, please. Please dont let it be ...
"Regina." I can hear her voice as I close my eyes for a moment to take a deep breath. Everyone is turning around and greeting the newest addition to what seems to be todays breakfast club. Henry is running to the woman and giving her a big hug.
