The Letter From Rafael
Stevie was just coming out of the kitchen with a plate of cheese and crackers in her hand for a snack.
Suddenly, she heard voices coming from the living room.
Alex had grabbed Rafael's letter away from Lisa before she could finish opening it.
"Ooh, what have we here," he teased. "Little Lisa got a letter from her boyfriend!"
"Give it back!" Lisa snapped, she tried to grab back the letter, but Alex was just tall enough to hold it up out of her reach.
"Alex," Stevie snapped with a warning glare. "give it back or I'm getting Mom and Dad!"
The smug look Alex had on his face disappeared and he gave back the letter.
Stevie gave Alex one more warning look and he disappeared up the stairs to his and Michael's room.
"Thank you." Lisa said to Stevie.
"Sorry about that," said Stevie. "is that the letter you got from Rafael?"
Lisa nodded as she finished opening it.
"Here I'll read it." Lisa said, she unfolded the letter and began to read.
"Don't leave me in suspense, what did Rafael say?" Stevie asked Lisa.
Lisa: Dear Lisa,
I just got a letter from Alex about what's going on.
I think you and Alex are right to be worried about the Baxter-Lynches.
Celia can't stand it when she doesn't get her own way and her father doesn't like to lose.
I know this from personal experience, he once tried to put the Wandering Star circus out of businesswhen he wanted the circus grounds for one of his own projects.
So there is no telling what he might pull.
The clan and I are on our way back, and you and rest of the team should keep and eye out for anything that happens that is either strange or suspicious.
I'll be there soon.
Love,
Rafael.
The front door swung open and Chad and Michael ran inside, leaving their muddy snowboot prints all over the living room carpet.
"Hey, you guys! I just shampooed the carpet!" Stevie scolded Chad and Michael sharply.
Chad and Michael looked at the mess they had made.
"Oops," Michael said. "sorry, Stevie."
"Yeah, we'll clean it up." Chad sighed.
"You had better," Stevie said sternly. "I'm tired of cleaning up after you boys!"
"Come on, Michael," Chad sighed. "let's get the rug shampooer and clean this mess up before Mom and Dad see it."
Chad and Michael went to get the rug shampooer out of the hallway closet.
With the Moondance clan that night, Carmen was admiring Rafael's golden crystal after they had packed up their circus and carnival.
"Brother?" Carmen asked Rafael.
"Yes, Carmen?" Rafael answered.
"Do you think I will complete my trials someday?" Carmen asked Rafael.
"Maybe... someday..." Rafael began.
Rafael could barely keep his eyes open, for he had fallen asleep right then and there.
Over at Pine Hollow that same evening, Carole turned on the radio in her room.
The meteorologist made her forecast.
"Tonight, there will be another blizzard in Willow Creek," the woman said. "so, be sure to have your snow wear ready, boys and girls!"
"Yes! We can all go sledding tomorrow!" Carole exclaimed, turning her radio off.
