Operation Save Wyatt.
Hi. Hope you're well. Just a oneshot about what happened after Chris left the future and entered the past. Hope you enjoy it.
00000000000000000
Chris stepped through the portal and immediately could tell that the spell had worked. He was stood in the attic of the manor in what he hoped was 2003.
The attic was thankfully empty.
The spell that was in the book shadows worked on intention and he had been aiming for a date that would bring him a few weeks before the titan saga but not in front of his past family. He needed to do some serious preparation before he was ready to see them.
Chris looked around the room for a brief second.
His eyes caught sight of the book of shadows on the podium first and he instinctually walked over to it. He laid a hand onto it and immediately felt the magic of the book pulse through his veins and connect with his own.
It made him feel warm inside. It was slightly smaller than the book that he had just summoned to himself, but it still felt warmer than the one from his time. While it wasn't evil as he could touch it, it had certainly been corrupted by Wyatt and when he had touched it moments ago, he felt that corruption sizzle through him.
It was only due to the severity of the situation why he didn't focus on the feeling.
He hadn't touched the book in years but getting to the past was more important than crying over the atrocities that had been filling up the book.
He flipped open to the first page and smiled. Already the book gave him hope, which was premature thinking, but he allowed himself to have the moment of naivety.
Once he got to work, he wouldn't have the luxury to do so.
He closed the book. He'd have time to look at it later. He quickly scanned the rest of the attic.
The attic was filled with junk and clutter and yet somehow was more colourful and filled with life than it was in his in his time.
Then again, this attic hadn't been turned into a museum for mortals to gawk at so, Chris shouldn't have been surprised.
It was strange to think that he had grown with attic looking like this once upon a time.
After years of war and bloodshed, one could forget just how normal life had been once.
Chris shook his head at the thought.
He's have to get used to normal again.
That was a point. Whilst the spell worked on intentions, he had been slightly distracted as he walked through the portal thinking about how he had to leave his, fiancé behind who was busy fighting a demon and the resistance.
He shuddered at the thought.
'B, please make it back safely.' He thought to himself desperately and let out a shaky breath.
It pained him deeply to leave Bianca in such a vulnerable situation. Having to deal with the demons, escaping the manor and helping the resistance, now that he was here.
He couldn't even afford to help her. Not that she truly needed help. Bianca was much more capable in the fighting department than he was. Not to say he couldn't spar with her and keep up, but she wasn't a phoenix with for nothing.
She'd be able to handle the demon.
It was a case of getting out of the manor that he was worried about. She wouldn't be able to shimmer out without leaving trail and more demons would come as well as probes. Bianca wasn't worried about that.
They had made preparations for exiting the manor. A crystal that would release a high sonic pitch that only demons could hear. She had to set that off and use the distraction to shimmer out when several other demons shimmered in then use a cloaking potion that Chris had made to hide the trail, but not before shimmering to a few places that were considered enemy territory so that if any one of Wyatts demons picked up on the trail they would be going after their own comrades.
Something the resistance did often.
Of course, Wyatt would work out that Chris had summoned the book and had been in the manor, but Chris had flipped the page and had thrown a potion over the nexus after he and Bianca had been done frolicking to hide the energy of the spell. Of course, it wouldn't stop Wyatts demons from coming as Wyatt's magic was just too strong, but Wyatt wouldn't be able to use magic to find out what spell had been cast and he would just assume that Chris had stolen the book to use a specific spell that wasn't in the edited hologram version of the book.
Which was why Bianca was confident that she'd be able to escape because Wyatt would send his demons after Chris first and they'd pick up on her trail second which was the most proable scenarion. She just had to enact that part of the plan and get back to the resistance.
Chris had faith in Biancas skills, but she had been fighting and that made him nervous as he walked through the portal, so he had no idea if his intention had been clear enough. He hoped that him casting the spell was enough and that he didn't have to keep his mind focused on that intention as he walked through the portal.
Chris closed his eyes.
The first thing he did was sense where his mother was.
In his mind, a path formed with speed and could see the location in his minds eye. He was aware of her precesnse.
She was two floors below him and seemed to be in distress.
He felt his heart clench.
This version of Piper Halliwll wasn't his mother and pinched himself for even thinking of her like that.
She was Piper.
Wyatt's mother, if he was in the right time.
Still it was disturbing to know she was so close in range, was alive and distressed. He wanted to orb downstairs and immediately take care of the situation, but he wouldn't of course.
He had a plan to stick by.
His next thought was to prove if he was in the right time by sensing for Wyatt.
Once again, he found a path in his mind forming and suddenly felt his ability latch onto Wyatt's presence although never before how he had sensed his older brother.
Chris realised of course that meant that he was in the right time and Wyatt was a baby.
He also happened to be a few feet away from his mot... from Piper.
He sensed for the rest of his family too. First his aunt Paige... damn it! Just Paige then his aunt... then Phoebe and then unfortunately Leo who he had no problem distinguishing as just Leo.
They all seemed to be in the conservatory and aside from Wyatt, they all were distressed.
Chris decided to chance it.
While he had amazing poker face seeing all of his dead family for the first time would be hard. Even Leo, who he borderline hated.
Chris reckoned it would be safer to rip the band aid off now if he saw them without filtering his emotions.
Chris closed his eyes for a moment and then in a small voice spoke.
"For those of blood who dwell below and near, this boy's image will not appear." Cast Chris and he felt a ripple of magic go through.
With that Chris orbed downstairs into the kitchen and eased his way into the dining room.
He heard his mot... Piper's voice.
"Well I don't. Where is Paige?" he heard her cry frustratedly.
What an odd question? He had sensed her right next to him.
Suddenly he heard Leo's voice and he felt a mixture of rage and annoyingly pain swell in his chest.
Leo's voice sounded so gentle as he uttered the words.
"Uh she just can't talk."
Chris shook off the feeling and wondered why Paige couldn't talk suddenly he heard Phoebe's voice at a very loud decibel.
"Excuse me! This is either someone's sick, sick joke, or someone's working on a massive evil plan!"
Chris smirked.
His aunt had always been one for the theatrics and realised that a demon must've been messing with them.
Leo then provided the answer.
'Whatever it is, you guys are in danger without your senses. Piper, you're the most vulnerable. So I want you to stay next to Wyatt, his force field will protect you."
Chris suddenly realised what was going on.
He remembered reading about this in the book of shadows.
His mother and aunts had added a bit more organisation to the book over the years and created a section specifically for demons that had already been vaquished and thnakfully near the back of the book.
Chris had spent countless of nights reading the different tales about different demons that had been vanquished by the charmed ones.
Some with just simple vanquishes that had been done in an hours work and others that had been more complicated like the source, Zankou and his good friend Cole. Then there were the more creative demons.
He hated them but he had to respect certain styles like the Crone who had used ancient magic to steal his mother's and aunt's senses. That was genius.
She'd be vanquished in a couple of hours but if she had really tried, she could've truly made things difficult for his family.
Creative demons were always the fun ones to vanquish.
He remembered reading about a group of demons who used a genie to try kill his mother and aunts through their own wishes and a demon who used sins to infect them.
Those were the type of demons that whilst still vanquished, Chris actually thought were at least worthy of the vanquishes.
He heard Leo's voice again.
He was telling her to stock on stun potion for the kazi demons and then telling Phoebe to check the book of shadows.
Suddenly Piper and Paige came in to view.
His breath hitched.
Paige was helping Piper walk because she was blind.
They were both so young and beautiful.
He took in every inch of Pipers face as he passed. It had been so long since he had seen her face. He wanted nothing more than to run and hug her so tightly, but he restrained himself.
He looked at Paige who had red, short hair. That was new. His aunt had always said she was was wild child in her younger days, but she had been more of whitelighter by his time. More serious and proper. She was still fun but he would never associate wild to her in his time, yet this version he could already see was carefree, unlike the last charmed one standing in his time, so tired and lifeless whilst saving all her charges before she too had joined her sisters in the afterlife.
Paige didn't see him. Even though where he was standing, he was clearly visible from the corner of one's eys.
Leo, Wyatt and Phoebe came into a view.
Phoebe also was so young. Even losing a child, her husband and being queen of the underworld, she seemed so light. Even losing her hearing she still had positive air around her. A woman full of strength and heart.
Then there was Leo. Chris bristled at the sight of him but also longed to hear his voice. The gentleness of his tone felt comforting but also physically made feel ill as it reminded him of all the times, he longed for his to spend time with him
He hated the feeling, and it was worse with seeing Wyatt strapped to his chest as a baby. That was just plain disturbing and painful.
That right there was an innocent baby who hadn't even turned blonde yet, but Chris knew if he didn't save him, he would soon become a tyrant who would destroy the world in a twisted attempt to save it.
Leo and Phoebe didn't look his way either, but Wyatt did for a brief second as they helped Piper.
He could just tell his big brother sensed him but couldn't see him.
It was unsettling but slightly comforting.
Chris watched his family walk up the stairs and out of sight.
He felt the restriction in is chest loosen a bit.
There were so many thoughts and feelings running through him and he didn't know how to handle them.
His family was alive. He had made it back to the past and now he had chance to right the future wrongs and save Wyatt and the world.
He didn't know if his mother and aunts counted as they had died before Wyatt's reign but if he could save them then he would try but Wyatt came first.
Chris released a shaky a breath.
He needed to pull himself together.
He didn't have time to be wishy, washy in his feelings.
He had learnt how to deal with loss, suffering and pain for years.
Hadn't he just left the love of his life in his time?
His people too. He had watched his friends die. He had watched his family die gruesome deaths. He had watched inncoecnts die and had endured torture beyond pain.
Looking at his younger family for however long would be something he would have to endure if he didn't want any of those people to die again.
Chris shook his head.
It was game time.
Operation save Wyatt.
He had work to do.
He already knew what his steps were.
First, work out exactly when he was in 2003. Wyatt was an infant, so he was early, which was exactly what he was hoping for, but he just hoped he had a few weeks before the titans.
If he did then he would have time to survey his surroundings. He'd need knowledge of the here and now so who knew to act around the sisters when the time came to integrate himself into their lives.
For example he was pretty sure iPhone didn't exist yet. He needed to be up to date with the lingo and the events of 2003.
Once he did that, he would procure a lair in the underworld. He wouldn't risk sleeping in the underworld even with a beautiful, procured knowledge of warding but he would keep more questionable potions, ingredients, weapons etc down there.
A place to hide out if he needed it.
He already knew where he was going to go. He had the perfect lair in mind and knew which demon he would have to take out to get it too.
Next, he would get items he would need for his mission. Athames, crystals, vials, cauldrons and clothes. He'd hit up a few demonic markets for some items to familiarise himself with them in this time first.
For the clothes, he'd vanquish a demon up top too in case he needed a hideout away from the sisters and he'd steal from the demon, clothes, money and whatever else.
Not that he was looking to really spend money but if ever needed it, he'd have the option. He would sleep in some random demon's apartment until he had officially infiltrated the sisters lives as their whitelighter and then would stop as he wanted to keep close to the sisters. If anything, he'd ask to stay at P3 afterwards.
Next, he would make an ungodly amount of potions.
He would get the sisters to do as many vanquishes as possible, but he knew that they would go after every demon on his list so he knew he would have to get creative with certain demons. Some he wouldn't be able to vanquish at tall without the power of three but not every demon needed to be vanquished to get rid of them. He was still powerful enough to banish demons by himself like several of his ancestors.
Some demons in his time who couldn't be vanquished got transformed into things. There was still a demon in the south of France that he had turned into lamp post after it had kidnapped him when he was twelve. His aunt had been seriously impressed by the magic and had told him a story of the time they had turned an immortal demon into a tree. Chris had experimented heavily with transformative magic afterwards.
He would be making plenty of other potions too.
Cloaking potions, potions to replicate powers. Healing potions. Sleeping potions. Nutrient potions and potions to trade with demons, warlocks, seers, oracles and whoever else, depending on what information he needed to trade for.
Once his first set of potions were made, he'd start treading into the underworld and making contacts. A few he knew from the future first, then others.
He wanted to build a relationship with several contacts first before he started regularly venturing into the underworld. A whitelighter skulking around would be news down there and he needed to make a couple of allies before he threw himself into fire.
He'd also check out some witches who he knew in the future and make a few friends. He knew his family would be difficult the moment he got Leo out of the way. He may need some other witches to help take care of some of the more difficult demons on his list if himself or the sisters got compromised.
Finally, he would survey the sisters. Just for a few days and familiarise himself with the young versions before he started his mission.
He may have grown up with his family, but these were early days for them. They hadn't gone through the ultimate battle yet or the avatars, Zankou, the angels of doom or some of the other big battles that would harden the sisters into the fierce warriors he knew from his time.
One look at them alone told him they were babies, and inexperienced.
It was so strange to witness but it didn't matter.
He'd have to work with what he got if he wanted to save the future and Wyatt.
Once he did all those steps, he would wait for the titans to appear, orb in and begin his mission.
The idea terrified him to no end.
Spending time with his family but the future was more important.
He couldn't worry about his feelings, not when he had job to do. Not when the fate of the future rested on his shoulders.
Although he would at some point find time to have the luxury of having a bath, and coffee. Maybe even have a haircut.
He would allow himself a few small pleasures before he set off to work because one, he started, he knew he would work himself ragged, but he didn't care.
Not if it meant he could save Wyatt and live in a future where his big brother wasn't a tyrant. Where didn't watch thousands of innocents being slaughtered. Where he and Bianca could have an actual life together.
He'd do whatever it would take to have that.
With he allowed himself to sense his families' movements for a few more minutes.
He felt like a small boy again, as he sensed their presence.
It was comforting and heart wrenching at the same time.
He decided to waste no more time.
He had a mission to complete and that started now.
With that thought Chris orbed out of his childhood home, preparing himself for the most challenging period of his life yet.

AN: Hope you liked that.
Although I didn't write it out pretend Chris landed like five weeks before the titans. Sorry for any mistakes.
