Now morning, Dennis, Lucy and the rest of the team are now going back in the direction towards Bela's mountain. But as they do, Lisa decided that it would be a good idea to give them something entertaining to pass the time.
"Interesting fact about the swamp ape:", Lisa said, as she is reading a book about various monsters, "The swamp ape can hold it's breath underwater for over 40 minutes.". "Another interesting fact...", she continued, "Is that it is related to the Bigfoot. Some elements of the swamp ape and the Bigfoot include giant feet, and lots of hair.".
"However,", Lisa continued still, "the swamp ape has a four pouched stomach that digests food so slow, that it takes a month to fully digest a meal.". "The swamp ape also prefers to be in the water for most of it's life,", Lisa still continued, "Unlike it's terrestrial cousin.".
"And another interesting thing, is that the swamp ape also has a very long tongue, but not as long as certain amphibians. As well as...", Lisa tried to say, but Dracula interrupted, "Not another word!". "Yeah!", Lynn Jr agreed, "For the past forty minutes, you've been talking about swamp monsters. It's annoying!".
"Hey, I'm not trying to be narcissistic,", Lisa said, "I was trying to be educational with you guys.". "Yeah, educationally annoying.", Dracula backlashed. "I don't know...", Dennis said, "These facts are making me less worried about what's going to happen next.".
"Why, thank you Dennis.", Lisa said, "At least someone is interested in my swamp talk!". "By the way,", Lisa soon resumed, "Did you know that eagles are the swamp ape's natural enemy?". "That's because, one swamp monster thought it was a good idea to disturb an eagle's nest!", Griffin said.
"Hey, at first I didn't know what that idiot was doing was disturbing the piece of those eagles.", Lisa said, "I thought he was harvesting pinecones.". "Let me guess,", Abraham asked, "They're the swamp ape's favorite food?".
"Why...", Lisa stutters, "Of course they are.". "Prove it!", Abraham said, handing a pinecone over to Lisa. "Okay?", Lisa said. She then takes a bite, "Delicious? That's very nutritious?", she said. "She's lying.", Abraham said, "She doesn't like pinecones.".
"Ooh!", Lana said, "I want some!". Lana grabbed a pinecone from the tree, and eats it, and even said that they are like nature's rock candy. "See, told you they're good.", Lisa said, before thinking, "Ohh. So she actually like to eat these pinecones. I thought she would fake it too.".
Even Frank ate some and said, "Nature's crunchiness.". "You think Lisa's a bit diluted right now.", Ericka asked, but Lori said, "Well, it depends.".
"Not only that...", Dracula said, "Lucy, where are we on the map?". "Well, as you can see...", Lucy said, before looking at the map. "Wait.", she said, trying to look at the map. "We're lost, are we?", Wayne asked.
"No, no, no, no...", Lucy said, "I was just trying to compare the map to our location, and defy where we are!". Dennis soon went up to Lucy, and said, "Can I see?", resulting in him looking at the map. "I think we're supposed to go...", Dennis said, before pointing in a direction, "That way!".
"You sure you're reading that right, Dennis?", Lucy asked. "I'm certain of it.", Dennis concluded. "Well, you might be reading that wrong.", Lucy said, "because I think we should go... That way!", while pointing at the opposite direction of where Dennis is pointing. "Okay.", Dennis said, "We go this way!".
"Uh, guys?", Mavis said, "Are you sure we're not lost? There are way too many directions.". "Oh, nonsense.", Clyde said, as he and Lincoln kept making etches that said 'Clinclon' and 'McCloud' on tree trunks. "We always leave our tag, to mark where we've been, see?", he said. "Wow.", Mavis said, "That's an interesting name.". "Well, that's our tag team name.", Lincoln said.
"Uh...", Lola said, "Which way should we go?!". "I suggest we go in the direction Vlad suggested: South!", Dracula said. "No, no, no!", Lucy said, "That's not the direction of the map! I say we go north as it says on the map.".
"But Lucy,", Dracula said, "According to Vlad, he said that the only way to get to the mountain is south! Have you been listening to him, when he stop by last night?".
In a flashback, Vlad is shown in front of the gang, before dawn breaks out. "If you what to get to Bela's mountain,", he said, "I recommend you go south. Don't go anywhere else, go south until you find a ring of black storm clouds around the mountain's tip.".
It is shown in the flashback, that Lucy was trying to read the map, but the wind was howling so loud that she didn't hear anything. Back in the present, Lucy said, "I didn't here anything about going south. The map has all the directions we need to find the mountain.".
"Lucy has a point.", Luna said, "That Vlad fellow is bit of a nutsy cuckoo head.". "Choose your path wisely...", said a deep voice, "For one will lead to the mountain, and the other to certain death.". "Who said that?", Mavis asked. It was revealed that a familiar woodpecker was mocking that voice, before saying, "It was me.", and did his trademark laugh before flying off.
"Yep. Like that Woody Woodpecker.", Lori said, "Nutsy cuckoo.". "Hey, don't call my dad a nutsy cuckoo head!", Dracula said. "Why not?", Luna said, "I say he's a bit woody as well.". "I don't how clever he can be.", Lisa said, "Which he can't.".
"Uh... Lucy?", Lincoln said, "On your head?". It was revealed that the woodpecker was on Lucy's head, and was tapping her with his beak. "Get away you bird.", Lucy said.
"Well, for your information, Lucy.", Dracula continued, "Vlad may be a bit unhinged, but he's actually very smart.". "Yeah,", Frank said, with Murray adding, "He helped us accomplish two missions, and if it wasn't for him, they would be done.".
"I would've be either Van Helsing's prize winner or cronie food if it weren't for Vlad.", Wayne said, which offended the Van Helsings a lot. "And if it weren't for him, we'd all be dead right now!", Griffin shouted. "Now, I have another reason why not to believe Drac's tall tales.", Lynn Jr said. "Watch it, Lynn.", Dracula said.
"Do you want to go back to the pit so you can suffer?", Lucy asked, to which Drac and Lynn Jr screamed with fear. "Yeah,", Lucy said, "That's what we thought.". The woodpecker was shown laughing, and then to make matters worse, Lucy got infuriated and scared him.
"Well, I don't wanna go back to the pit either.", Johnny said, "But I can tell you that Vlad's one of the most smartest lads out there. And if that's not any, then I don't know what is.". "Smart, huh?", Lori said, "Then why did he almost tried to kill us, before making us his friends?".
"I know.", Leni said, "Even I find that weird.". "That's what he says!", Luan said, as she laughs like the woodpecker. "Relax,", Luan said, "I'm just joking!". "Well, do you know what else is a joke?", Dracula said, "All of your untrusting doubtful.".
"I cannot argue with that.", Lincoln said, with Lola adding in, "Me neither.", and Drac said, "Thank you.".
"Well, screw you!", Lynn Jr said, "Lucy's way is better!". "I say Vlad!", Dracula argued back. As everyone was arguing about who to listen to, Luan said, "Hold up! Wait a minute!". "There's no need to argue about which way to go!", she said.
"Luan's right.", Dennis said, "I think we should take a vote.". "Who wants to go down the way using a map?", Dennis asked, as Lori, Luna, Lynn Jr, Lincoln, Lola, Lana, and Lisa all raised their hands. "And who wants to go using instinct?", Dennis asked, as Dracula, Mavis, Ericka, Abraham, Wayne, Murray, Frank, and Griffin.
"Huh?", Luan said, who says she also votes for Lucy, "It's a tie then. Yeah!". "A tie?", Dennis asked, "But what about Clyde or Leni?". "I might have to go with Vlad.", Clyde said, with Leni agreeing. "Oh, well...", Dennis said, "I'm sorry guys, but me and Winnie chose to follow Lucy's directions.".
"What?!", Dracula said with shock, "Why?!", as Wayne said, "Yeah, that's unfair.". "You're only saying that, because you and Lucy have a... relationship.", Luan whispered. "What?!", Dennis said, "No I don't.". Winnie and Lucy soon asked, "Luan, what're you talking about?".
"Uh...", Luan said, "Oh, shit.". "Nothing!", she said with embarrassment. "Nonetheless, I still view Lucy as my sister, that's why I voted for her.". "Good.", Lincoln said.
"Hey, I like Vlad's way better!", Clyde said, "But no offense though Lincoln, we're still cool.". "None taken.", Lincoln said, "But I trust Lucy, she's the one with the map. So whatever she says, we go with it!". Blobby, the only one who hasn't vote, just jumped with joy.
"How about we just take it easy, and call it a tie.", Mavis said. However, Lucy interrupted, "One way or another, you all have to follow my directions, which is from the map.". "Okie-dokie!", Dennis said, however Murray asked, "But isn't the mountain over there?".
"Now, which are you going to believe?", Lucy asked, "This official map, or your own eyes?". "Look for yourself, and you'll see that we're right on course.", she continued, "It's all right there in black and white. And besides, why would anybody want to wander around, wondering which way to go, when they have a map to follow?".
"A map is not a guess, an estimation, or a hutch. A feeling or a foolish intuition!", Lucy started to sing, which Luna asked everyone, "Is she singing?". "A map is a dependable, unwavering, and arguably portrayer of your position.". "Yep,", Luna said, "She's singing, dudes.".
"Never trust your ears, your nose, your eyes. Putting faith in them, is most unwise. Here's a phrase you all must memorize, 'In the printed word is where truth lies'.", Lucy sang, which caused Johnny to ask, "But don't you think the printed word is...".
However, Lucy interrupted him by singing, "Never trust your tummies, tails, or toes. You can't learn a thing from any of those. Here's another fact I must disclose, 'From the mighty pen, true wisdom blows'.". Soon, everyone kept following Lucy as she kept on singing.
"If it say so, then it is so. If it is so, so it is.", Lucy kept singing, "A thought's not good to think, til it's printed in ink. Then it says so, so it is.". "Okay...", Lisa said, "I'm starting to think that Vlad's way is...". However, Lucy interrupted her like she did with Johnny.
"Never trust that thing between your ears, brains will get you nowhere fast my dears. Haven't had a need for mind and ears, on the page is where the truth appears.", Lucy sang, as she then placed signs that show everyone that going Vlad's way is wrong.
"If it say so, then it is so. If it is so, so it is.", Lucy continued singing, "A thought's not good to think, til it's printed in ink. Never differ from or doubt it, or go anywhere without it. Thank goodness we got this. So we don't need to fret about it. If it says so... so it is!".
While Lucy finished her song, the sound of ripped paper can be heard. "What was that?", Lucy asked, as Lincoln soon said, "Uh, Lucy? Your map?".
It is revealed that the map has ripped in pieces, and they are flying in the wind. "Oh no!", Lucy said, panicking and running after the pieces, "The map! Get the map, because if we lose it, we're close to nowhere!".
Soon, everyone was chasing after the map. Lisa decided to get a head start by having Frank fling her from his arm, and she flew like a missile towards the map pieces. Unfortunately, she missed the pieces, and landed in a tree.
"It's flying away!", Murray said with panic. "Let me try something!", Lana said, as she blew a raspberry. "Uh, Lana?", Lincoln asked, "What're you doing?". "I think I can be a frog and grab the map with my tongue!", Lana suggested.
"You're not seriously, Lana.", Dracula said, knowing that Lana can't transform. However, Lana hopping like a frog said, "Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit!". "Let's not talk about frogs everyone. Map, hurry!", Lucy said, as everyone tried to get to the map.
Eventually, they reached a bottomless hole, where the map pieces fall into. "Holy rabies!", Lucy said. Lisa, who was still in the tree, was now dangling from some vines, and said, "Uh guys? Assistance?".
After Dracula helped her down, by using his magic, he asked everyone who is willing enough to go down a bottomless pit to get the map. "I'll do it!", Dennis said, saying that going the way using the map is what he agreed to. As he did however, he soon flew out.
"Sorry, it's just it's pitch black down there.", Dennis said. When Lori asked if Dennis can carry her phone down, as it has a flashlight feature, Dennis said, "No, cebause there's a small chance that I might drop it.". "But aren't you strong?", Leni asked, however Dennis said, "I'm still learning how to use my strength.".
Lucy just looked down the pit, and Dennis noticed her. "Hey, what's wrong?", Dennis asked, and Lucy said, "The map... it's gone.". "Don't worry, Lucy.", Dennis said, "We'll find our way to the mountain and kick Morag and Bela's butts. Right, Papa Drac".
"Yep. And if there's one way.", Dracula said, "We go south, just like Vlad suggested.". "Okay Drac. Lead the way.", Lucy said with sadness. "Alright. Everybody, to Bela's mountain!", Dracula said, as everyone followed him.
"Hey, did you know that the swamp ape has an excellent sense of direction!", Lisa said, resuming her swamp talk, however everyone, specifically Wayne said, "You're more annoying than that woodpecker!".
